this store is what this town needs; custemer service, awesome assortment of bait (live, synthetic and more), fishing gear and the hidden secret is the awesome Japanese food freshly cooked on site.

The ginger they give you is dyed red and has no flavor the wasabi was dry like powder and had zero flavor , no spice whatsoever . We also got the steak hibachi with that they do not give you any shrimp w that anymore I counted 3 pieces of zucchini that was straight mush the salad dressing was straight water . The portions are so small now. I will never ever return to this place again . The one in new Bern is slightly better so I will just go to that one when craving this type of food. This place has gone straight down since opening . I do not recommend this restaurant.

I did the yakisoba beef noodles and my buddy did the hibachi steak. If you're looking for award winning food, this isn't the place. You want hot, good, quick, with friendly folks??? This is the place. The evening was winding but we went right to our table. Our server was very friendly and was quick to answer our questions. When we ordered, she was back quickly with our salads and our food came shortly after we finished our appetizer. Legit, the place looks like it could use a fresh coat of paint or a scrub. But overall everything is clean.

If you've driven by and wondered about it, don't let the building fool you--it occupies the former Golden Corral, so the restaurant is huge. There's plenty of seating, making it a great option whether you're dining with a couple of people or a large group. The standout for me is the seafood boil. The combo options are absolutely on point, with generous portions, perfectly cooked seafood, and seasoning that brings everything together without overpowering the natural flavors. It's one of the better seafood boils I've had in eastern North Carolina. The sushi is equally impressive. Everything tasted fresh, was beautifully prepared, and offered a nice variety of traditional rolls and specialty creations. It's not often you find a place that does both seafood boils and sushi this well. The service was friendly and attentive, and despite the size of the restaurant, the food came out promptly. Whether you're in the mood for hibachi, sushi, or a seafood feast, Sake Hibachi Sushi & Bar delivers. It's a great addition to the New Bern dining scene, and I'll definitely be back.

The chef's English was a bit challenging, other than that everything was good, fun. Being from California we found the prices to be very fair. We would go back when visiting in the future.
