This is a really nice addition to Hilo. We have this type of wash in Honolulu but I would say the Hilo one is even better! You enter on the KWXX side or Little Caesar's side and then go to a payment machine. Tap the screen and I believe you have 3 choices. $12,$14 and $16. I went for $16 and paid $2 extra for a micro fiber cloth. You align your left wheel into a guide and put your car into neutral. It then pulls your car through the wash. There were two employees guiding and cleaning the car initially before you enter the wash. Once in you just enjoy the ride. Once out, you are free to use the stalls which have vacuums on both sides of the car. You can use them for a reasonable length of time. Like Honolulu the vacuums are powerful! Very nice!!!!!! Then you can use the cloth to wipe down the car. The wash did a really good job on my crv and it did a great job on the tires! Like it put shine spray on the wheels and it cleaned the rims!!! Fastest car wash I've ever been through!!!! Not in a good way. In all honesty the only reasons for giving any stars is because the vacuums are some of the best I've come across. Also the lady that I raised my concerns with and the young man who was the cashier were polite. Purchased the "extreme Wash" wanted to see how a $25 car wash turned out. By the way this is their best wash available. First of all, I know for certain that the undercarriage on my SUV wasn't rinsed. Every car wash I've used in the past, you can feel the undercarriage being rinsed. Living on an island it's important to keep the undercarriage as clean as possible.To be sure I looked under my vehicle and it was completely dry. Except for the soap dripping on the right side and h2O dripping on the left. Definitely no undercarriage rinse. Then when I opened my hatch there was so much soap!! Not a little but a crazy amount. It was also all over the right side of the roof, door and tires. After bringing it to the attention of the woman working there, she said it was normal,she was sorry and to use the air hose to blow it off. Not sure if anyone has tried to blow off soap bubbles from a suv hatch. It literally blew all over my seats in the back part of the hatchback interior, including glass. Does blowing off soap, bubbles actually remove the residue? I'm saying NO! Then I'm pulling out and I noticed several big smudges on the hood of my car so I pulled over and sure enough it wasn't clean at all. There were four or five giant dirty marks then walking around I noticed the whole back window wasn't clean and neither were my wheels and tires. They literally had grass stuck to them. So again I brought this to the attention of the woman who was the attendant she recognize that the car was not clean told me to go get back in line and run it through again. Well, that would've been fine if I had time to go back through the line and then dry my vehicle again, unfortunately I did not. Also she said to ask the people to brush off the dirty spots before going through the wash. Unfortunately I didn't know that the wash itself wouldn't remove the dirt. She told me that she couldn't honor a wash at a later time, so I just left. Now I'm left with a not clean car and worried about the soap residue messing up my paint. I paid for their premium wash, it did absolutely nothing to my sides or back of my very small vehicle.

The car looks great with the exception of the front & rear of the car does not come out lean. It is almost as though I have to clean it again. With the membership and super/extreme was price monthly payments of around $144, it not worth the price. read more

First, let me preface this by saying that I don't like leaving negative comments on businesses that are providing a valuable service to our community, but I felt that this review was necessary. This is my go-to car wash spot in Hilo, but my recent visit left me extremely disappointed. The quality of this place has gone down hill fast. The car wash did a shoddy job overall and completely missed the back of my small Honda CRV, and because of all this rain we've been having lately, it was extremely noticeable. After the wash, I pulled into the vacuum stalls and the vacuums were so weak that I actually moved to another location and those were weak as well! I ended up driving home and re-washed the entire car by hand and using my shop vac to get the job done properly. What a waste of money and time. This car wash is normally a great place to get a quality wash so I hope they take these comments into consideration and make some necessary adjustments because they do provide a valuable service to our community! read more

Listen for the amount of money you spend AND THEN you have to vacuum out your own car. Sorry they should be doing the vacuuming for that price. Terrible car wash! Streaks! Unwashed areas on car around wheels wells & back above bumper. Vacuums barely worked. Streaks on windows that needed rewashing by hand when I got home & whatever soap they use leaves a residue on glass that is almost impossible to clean off. I do not recommend. Went for the first time today, got the ultimate wash... better than all the other drive-thru car washes in Hilo! The free vacuum was what I really went to this place for, and needed, and it was even better than I expected and hoped! Vacuum hoses for both driver and passenger sides. Disappointed with overall service here. Needed to vacuum my car and I understand free vacuums are only for customers so I was going to buy a car wash. The car wash was broken but they do not have a separate "vacuum only" fee available, so they were insisting I pay $16 to not get a car wash but use the vacuum. I would expect a place to want to help potential customers when THEY are inconveniencing them by the car wash being down/broken. The coin vacuum available across the street was also broken and not an option. Staff was not friendly or interested in helping. read more

What happened to the guys that used to work here and would spray/wipe off the tree mold before your vehicle goes through the wash? They used to be so awesome! Now there's a young kid with a blank look in his eyes just standing there not doing anything. We shouldn't have to pay for a car wash if the car is coming out the other side looking the exact same as it did when it first went in. These guys used to care about doing their job well but the new employees clearly could care less. read more

I can't believe that I can't pull into the vacuum area and take the trash out of my car. I pay $55 a month for a membership and can't clean the trash out of my car without going through the wash. We got to the facility 3 min after 5 pm and took approx 5 min to get some trash out of the car. We wanted to vacuum too but was interrupted by one of the individuals saying "My manager told me to tell you you are not allowed to just pull in. We are already closed." That is fine but there were more than 5 cars sitting there cleaning the inside of their cars. I wasn't making anyone wait. Bad Aloha here!!! read more

Tried them out for the first time and very pleased with the service that was received. The only downfall to my trip was my car was not presoaked the way all the cars where before me. It's just got sprayed very little on the front as the other lady stepped away. Over all very happy with the service and will be going back all the time. The vacuums work great and the area was very well marked and very clean as well. For 18 dollars and everything that comes with the wash it was a great deal. I took my Toyota Tundra to wash and the wash ripped the rubber strips on my roof right off. Broke it in 2 pieces. Made a report with them and go figure they don't cover that to repair it! It got to come out of my pocket! Also it chipped paint off of my car I took there to but I could not "prove" it was from them so they could not do nothing either. So not worth the cheap wash. I'd rather pay more and have it professionally done if your vehicles are nice new ones you care for. read more

Ok, this is a machine car wash. If you are expected a professional detail, pay $200 dollars, not $18 and letting it take 10 min. They do a solid job making sure your car doesn't get damaged, you get to use the vacuums. Only thing I would change is having the choice of what flavor air freshener you get, apart from that great machine wash. I go multiple times a week to get ROD/dirt of the car. read more

Are usually wash my own car, but this time I decided to just pay to have someone else do it. I should've save the money and done it myself. Because I had a bicycle rack on the back, I think they must've turned off some function; the entire back of my car was filthy, as was the rear window which could've been washed. And that would've been bad enough, but my front hood, which is nowhere near the back of my car, was also dirty and smudged, and it didn't even get the bird poop off of my windshield! read more

The owner of this company is rude and an I want to say numerous other things but I will not stop to his level of education.. First and foremost he is giving Lex Brodies a bad name. If this is how Lex Brodie's allow their name to be represented I will discontinue all services and with this company and any businesses affiliated with this name. Mind you I have been a faithful participant and believer of Lex Brodies and their services for over 15 years. I purchased the monthly express car wash pass because I thought I'd give it a try but they want to put a sticker on my car. I do not mark my car in anyway and the sticker would be placed on my tint. So upon purchasing the services I told them that and the manager at the time told me it was alright but if the chip in the sticker broke I would have to pay 2 dollars to replace (I was ok with). So I have been going there for about a month. Today there was issues with the scan bar thing. The owner comes out with a chip on his should and starts speaking to me really condescending like I'm an idiot. I told him that they do not pay me to advertise for them on my car one and they did not pay for the rent on my car because the sticker will go on my tint. Which if they pull off will peel my tint. And he got really cocky and told me he is the owner and he makes the rules and he will do what he wants. I told him that I do not mark my car with any thing because that will allow people to know my car which in Hilo u have to be careful especially with the high theft that's been going on. So he tells me that hes cancelling my membership because not putting the sticker on adds more work to them because they have to verify the sticker to the plates of my vehicle because I am able to pass the sticker on to others.. let's just say all the workers there knows my car and me because that is how many times I have gone there. The owner has horrible customer service. He would not try to find a solution to my dilemma or assist me in anyway. He needs to get a clue in customer service and be educated in the worst way on how to speak to people. On July 22, 2022, I took my car to have it washed. It went through the wash but dirt was still on the car. Normally, there are two guys who scrub before going through the car wash to loosen the dirt. They missed several spots that were very noticeable. Very disappointed as I paid for the Ultimate car wash and ended up with a car no cleaner than before it went through the car wash. I got a car wash membership, but cancelled midway since moving outside of town. I came back to use it before it expired but they had already cancelled my plan. Now i'm out an additional $16 having to pay for a another one to get thru the line. I asked customer service and they didn't seem to know what their policy was. I was told by a rep that i'd be able to use it on the last day. None of the employees could answer any of my questions but are misinformed on how to address the issue. I tried calling but no one was available. Seemed they were understaffed or the manager just wasn't available to help. read more

Just got a car wash at Lex Brodie's carwash in hilo. The car brush ripped the mirror cap off of my car and broke it. I talked to the manager and he said there is nothing they are willing to do. He just pointed out that they have a sign, but a sign does not absolve them of responsibility. A sign carries not legality. Well ere is something I'm willing to do. Beware of lex brodies car wash they are not a stand up business. When a proprietor or vendor post a sign saying that they are not responsible for damage, the legal theory upon which they are trying to rely is assumption of the risk. But for a valid assumption of the risk defense, the proprietor or vendor would have to explain the risk so that you could understand it and then assume it. In other words, you cannot validly assume an unknown or undisclosed risk. Furthermore, a service should perform in a manner normally expected. The car wash is not expected to damage mirrors. read more

This car wash is supposed to open at 8 am. I'm a Turo host and have an airport drop off at 9 am, which I need to be early for and my car needs to be clean. There is a 6 car long line with people turning around and leaving at 8:10 because the car wash still isn't open. Please get it together. I already have feelings about paying $16 for a car wash where I have to vacuum my own car, at least open on time. It's been 8 months since my last review. First of all, if the car wash is now going to place a piece of tape on my rear wiper, I should be asked first and the piece of tape should be removed from my car upon exiting. With all the craziness going on and reports of abductions and vehicle theft happening linked to driver distraction (piece of tape, etc.) there has to be better procedures in place by your company. It was very disturbing on Friday to notice that a piece of tape was on rear window. I didn't know if someone was following me or targeting me, my children or my car. Because of this piece of tape, I pulled off into one of the busiest parking lots possible in Hilo,Walmart, and cautiously exited my vehicle preparing myself for the unknown. I was relieved when I remembered that one of your attendants was standing at the rear of my vehicle as I entered the car wash and the piece of tape originated there. This anxiety attack and stress could have easily been prevented if I was told this was done. Secondly in recent months there has been a changeover in staff. I don't think they've been trained to provide that same exceptional service that Lex Brodie provides. It's disappointing that I have to ask to be guided onto the tracks so my tires are not rubbing or hitting my runners and rims. I thought it was just me, but my husband said the same thing and his truck tires are really wide. I always tip at least $5 every visit (sometimes twice a week we visit with both of our cars) now I think I need to reconsider. When I asked the attendant why they didn't pre-scrub anymore, I was told "our boss said, covid19". Really? Friday I decided to ask for a pre-scrub (just to see if things have changed) and if they could scrub my runner and rear window. I guess policies keep changing because the attendant scrubbed my runner... the driver's side only ‍. And then we get back to the masking tape on the window I'm updating this review to 2 stars. The car wash itself is better than any other on this side of the island and the facilities and vacuum are are always clean and tidy. The oil change staff still did a good job the last time I went in. I'll still keep my two memberships for now, hoping that things get back to the way it was. read more
