I can't say enough good things about TechGuyz, and especially the head guy, Lex. Before he came over, Lex did some research and made recommendations to me about which TV and which sound bar to buy. On the day of the appointment, he and Sean showed up at my apartment early, ahead of when they said they'd be there, and went right to work. They set up a TV, DVR, and audio combination system, hiding all of the wires in the wall. All that one sees in my living room is the TV and, floating under it, the sound bar. No wires are visible, no devices are visible, everything is hidden. It is beautiful. A few days after the appointment, Lex came back at my request to clean up a few minor items and to make sure that the remotes were working properly and fully understood by me (I'm definitely not a "techguy"). The amount charged for the work was reasonable, and Lex's assistant, Kristen, was very helpful in setting up appointments and in taking payment by credit card over the phone. Both Lex and Kristen communicated with me by e-mail, patiently answering my questions. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING customer service!!! These guys were subcontracted by Best Buy to deliver and install a 55" TV yesterday between 8am-12pm. Didn't hear from them until 12:16 when they called to say that they could come over but needed a confirmation that I would be home. Somehow I missed that call and when I called back at 12:37 I got their voicemail, but it was full so could not leave a message, twice!. Finally their dispatcher called me back at 12:53 to say that they had gone to the next appointment but could come back to me after that. I waited all afternoon, called them back at least 4 more times but was unable to leave a voicemail, and they never turned up or even returned my call. When I rang Best Buy this morning they said that the Tech Guys had brought back the TV to their warehouse yesterday at 6pm. I have never experienced more unprofessional service. HOW CAN A DELIVERY AND INSTALL SERVICE NOT HAVE ANYONE ANSWERING THE PHONE???? Or not practice simple but essential tasks such as calling customers within the delivery window when they know that they won't be able to make the scheduled time??? Net result for me is that I have wasted an entire day waiting for these guys and no delivery, and the next available date from Best Buy is Dec 31! Thanks to the crap walls of my apartment and the goal of staying on the better side of my slumlord, I had to get my TV professionally installed. But The Tech Guyz (yes, it's really a 'Z') were actually impressive with their flexibility and short time window--so I didn't have to wait all day, just to be stood up like my lovely boyfriend Comcast loves doing whenever we plan a date. Speaking of, TTG also helped me hang some heavy picture frames and, if the need ever arose, offered to fix my internet. Talk about an ideal guy(z)! I hardly ever write reviews but these guys just left and I felt compelled to do so. 1. Plasma TV died yesterday so I booked an installation of my new one for today. 2. They gave me a same day window of 3-4p. 3. 3:50 and they're not here so I'm losing faith 4. Someone calls at 4:30. Truck had been towed while on a job on Market Street but they'll still get the job done today if I want to wait at least 90 min (yes, please). 5. They show up around 6:3- after retreiving their truck from the DPT, which I am sure was annoying and tiring. 6. They do the job fast, politely, enthusiastically and we are all set to watch football on thanksgiving! 7. They discounted their rate by $50 (from $150 to $100) for being late THANK YOU!!!!!! read more

Don't give these guys a task that requires any kind of expertise. They are fine with instant plug & play, but anything more complicated than that, they will blame on your equipment, your receiver, your tv etc etc. They do not understand multi-channel audio or anything that requires thinking. In response to Alexander D.'s long & convoluted responses ("ye doth protest too much")--we have received no refund. When a business has 3 chances to correct their errors and just doesn't get it, it's time they refunded the full amount they took. That's good business and in our experience Tech Guyz are not reputable. Unfortunately they have no innate sense of engineering or wiring. We went to another tech installer, he told us it was wired incorrectly, fixed it in about 10 minutes. It was worth the extra charges to get these "guyz" out of our life! read more

I had Lex @ The Tech Guyz come over to remove my Tv from one wall and re-mount it to another wall. The fun part was that the power source AND coaxial cable were on opposite sides of the room so he had to run wires around the perimeter of the room. Lex did an incredible job hiding the wires and mounting my TV! He was fast, reliable and super friendly. Lex is a true professional! I have limited space in my appt and needed to buy a media cab. to hold my cable box and apple tv. Lex said, save the money and space, dont buy a media center then brought to the table recommendations to make my install even better, like hiding the cable box and apple tv behind the TV. Lex saved me money through his recommendation, which I really appreciated. I've worked with a lot of different IT companies in the past most if not all are pretty over priced and the service is never really what they say, which is kind of disappointing. I call this company I am pretty sketch because its a new company but i figure what the heck why not to my surprise customer service by far the best yet and for a fair price these guyz are great, very respectful of your home and and very informative they new exactly what to do and took the time to do right now that is A plus service in my book you don't see that to often these days. anybody who is not tech savy like my self should give them a call its worth it read more

I normally do everything myself but with the apartment that I have out here the walls are questionable. So I went the professional route and call these Guyz. Great appointment window and they were on time took about hr 1/2 but they got my tv mounted and my wires stashed away for a clean look. Lex did my install cool and funny. He showed up on time, took his shoes off (which I appreciated since we have a new rug), put a blanket down, and worked efficiently and in a timely manner. I had some external speakers from the prior house owner that were not working with my Sonos Amp. Lex took some time to troubleshoot the problem over the phone with me first. When that didn't work, he came out of his way to Marin to try to identify the problem.
