Ah burger week, my arteries are glad this only last a week, but my stomach is sad that it didn't have time to try all 35. My favorite was wallace station. This was hands down the winner in my book. The toppings were fresh. The burger was juicy. The bread was soft and this sucker was delicious. It was topped with candied bacon and jalapeño pimento cheese. The husband even liked it although it was a more messy burger. Next favorite was the pineapple express burger at street craves. Yep. This thing was a monster with 2 patties, cheese, pineapples, jalapeño and slaw. It was sweet, cheesy and packed a little heat. Number 3 is almost a tie for second place. A&W with the pimento cheese, fried green tomato and bacon with the spicy papa sauce. I was skeptical with the chain style restaurants, but this was an amazing surprise! (I assure you, you will not be able to order after this week so I hope you got a chance to try it this week). Number 4 was BRU burger. It was good, however it wasn't memorable. It had crispy onions and beer cheese on it I think. (I'm gonna chalk that up to the meds and my brain still being fuzzy). I remember that I enjoyed it and our server was super nice. The fries dipped in the truffle aioli is amazing!! Burgerfi--well, since the breakfast burger is always on their menu, I cheated and ordered it the day before burger week started. I ordered it with out the maple because maple is over the top for me. Sickly sweet. The burger itself is tasty, but it's always on the menu. Enoteca was my least favorite, which actually surprised me since I love eating there. I am pretty picky about my chorizo, but the chorizo puffs are delightful so I figured this was going to be good. The flavors were good. The burger itself was dry, dry, dry. The bourbon sauce was so good, I wanted more just to dip my burger in. The husband thought the same thing about his burger, but other than it being dry, it was his second favorite burger. This won't stop us from going to enoteca. I know they try hard and the food is good. It may have just been an off night. Great job to everyone that participated. Good job choosing the burgers. I am already looking forward to next year...after a few laps at the gym.
We tried Parley Social, I heard guys say they say 2 hour waits on other restaurants. What's real nice they have a limited menu so Iordering time to delivery is quick. Very unique burger, Need a bib.
Louie's wine dive has a burger with a fried green tomato and bourbon sorghum bbq sauce. A very good combo.
What week is it? burger week... I said, what week is it? Burger Week! I DONT HEAR YOU!!! I SAID WHAT WEEK IS IT? ITS BURGER WEEK! AYEEEE... Burgers all week all over Lexington $5... where can you get a better deal? Nowhere... get a passport and travel around the city getting stamps all over the place... every restaurant has a different spin and wants your vote... which one is your favorite? The jury is still out on this one...
Another great year of Burger Week. I was so glad that the restaurants offered the burgers as take out this year so we didn't need to eat inside. I was also happy that so many of the restaurants had outdoor seating and taking extra precautions like enforcing wearing masks and temperature checks.
I wish this event had 6 stars so I could give it 5. I'm really heartbroken this year. I put my body through the gauntlet (lets not talk about my wallet), tried my best to share everything on social media, and really really wanted to win something, even just a free burger would have made my week of food torture worth it, but, like I have always said, I can't win tic-tac-toe when I play myself. On to the important information. The food. Holy crap. Where to start. I won't say I take the crown, because I saw some SERIOUS people complete their passports. I want to worship them, but then I think of how crazy that really is. I hit my mark of 20 burgers this year. Last year was 12 and I told myself I would outdo that, and I succeeded. I'll touch on my favorites and post some photos. I tried to break this year into 2 categories, classic and unique. The problem with that is, there really weren't many classics, and I only had 1, so I now have to break it into unique and PB&J. My top PB&J this year was Napa Prime. They KILLED it with the bacon, fried jalepenos, and a perfect consistency PB sauce. Harry's was a very close second, but the quality of the burger is what lead me to Napa Prime as my winner. I also had the Columbia's WTF burger, but there wasn't enough Siracha so the PB flavor was overwhelming. On to the unique. I thought I had a clear winner early on with the Drake's BLT burger simply because the garlic parmesan aoili was OUT OF THIS WORLD. However, Shakespeare on broadway, J Renders, County Club (clear original winner), A&W (yeah, I know), and then the pizza joints (Pazzo's and Original Brooklyn) absolutely threw me off. I will say, of these, Original Brooklyn comes out my unique winner. bravarian pretzel bun with beer cheese, onions, bacon, heaven. I mean, I'm still drooling over it. Very close second would be Al's Bar. Those dudes killed it with the Swayze burger. I mean grippos, american cheese, swiss cheese, fried bologna. COME ON! And how could I forget the little flavor bomb that came from Locals?? Wow, these guys delivered. $5, 4 bites, 1 full stomach. Amazing My biggest disappointments this year were Wallace station (ridiculous wait to order, ridiculous wait for food, burger a quarter of the size of the bun, and flavor I could make on a george forman), Louie's, and Cheapside. Louie's had a burger that sounded great, but it just fell short. It tasted like a overly cooked, double fried shoe with some avocado and pineapple bacon relish missing the bacon. Cheapside killed me. We tried to go 6 times during the week, all at varying times. Every time, they were out. I feel like they made 30 burgers at 11 and 5 and just said screw it. They didn't feel committed. Next year I'm going to tone it back. My body is still recovering and I feel like a slob. I could eat all 41 and not win anything so may as well just target 10 and pray. Pictures to follow. **Note: please do not be a royal @$$hole and roll in during burger week, split a burger among 4 people, order water, and leave no tip. That really sends a horrible message. These waiters/waitresses work even harder during this week because they know the burgers are $5 and they're going to pumping a ton of them out and people are going to do it for the cheap food. If you go and buy a burger with a water, have a soul and tip $5. It means more to them than you. If you can't afford to do that, go to the places that offer takeout with no servers so you don't ruin someone's day**
I finally participated in the burger week this year and I was quite disappointed. It did not live up to all the hype, I found many of the restaurants just completely packed and the burgers very over rated and not as described. I tried Louie's wine dive, Smithtown seafood, Athenian Grill (probably my favorite), and Life Brewpub. Louie's and life Brewpub were by far some the worst service I've ever experienced and Louie's burger barely had any toppings. We waited an hour for food at Life Brewpub. Surely the horrendous service (or lack thereof) was due to the massive amounts of people who showed up for a burger and the unpreparedness of the staff. I would give these places another chance some other time but I do not think I will ever participate in burger week again. Great idea but poorly executed.
This evening we ventured to Athenian Grill for the Spartan Burger, and we were definitely not disappointed. Service was quite fast did as busy as this location was. To help sweeten the pot, we also ordered a side of their green beans (cooked in a tomato sauce and super tender) and their lemon potatoes (smooth and so yummy!). The burger itself was a beef-lamb blend. They definitely did not skimp on the portions. The spicy feta sauce and grilled onions worked together perfectly to make this a burger to remember for sure.
Azur has been my favorite so far. I recommend ordering fries too! Those were great! Willie's pot pie was not horrible, but I wouldn't order it ever again. JW Steakhouse was good with the fried green tomato. The JW salad was perfect! Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long (if at all) to try these selections.
Tonight I ventured over to Harry's in Hamburg. The place was PACKED. I had to wait to get a seat but it was worth the wait. I got the Caprese burger with a side of fries and a cold ultra. The burger was hot and juicy. It came with a mayo that hit the spot as well as some traditional hamburger toppings. I would definitely recommend this burger. I'm giving it 4 stars because it just didn't have that one thing that just blew me away. My search for the amazing burger will continue tomorrow.
I wish it was burger week every week. What an incredibly great deal, a delicious burger for only $5! I love the passport idea as well as the social media contest that went along with it. My only issue, and I've seen it was mentioned before, I wish it was longer than a week! 30+ enticing burgers is hard to cram into a week. I got to try 3 but wish I had time/room to eat a couple more last week. Cannot wait for #lexburgerweek2016!
After so many mediocre burgers, I was over it. Then I saw the photo of Big Kahuna's special offering and had to have it. I've eaten my way through their menu, and everying is excellent. The Western Burger was delicious, as is everything.. Big Kahuns is a gem. 75 read more
Burger Week 2018 is better than ever! If you want a great alternative burger this week, try the offering from Girls Girls Girls Burritos. It fantastic!!! I love Lexington Burger Week. This year I started off with Nick's 157 Burger from Nick Ryan's. Great selection of 47 burgers this year. It looks like about half a dozen restaurants this year are making peanut butter and jelly burgers. I need to try one! read more

We love this week! However I will say it seemed that every restaurant that was participating had the same theme, pimento cheese/beer cheese, beer braised onions OR they did a guacamole/queso/salsa. We ended up only having brasabana's and Jax's burgers because we just were not wowed on too many after ready them. Overall my husband did enjoy the two he had and they looked good but we were expecting more creative burgers that were just not there this year. O well next year maybe! I wish also there were not sooo many restaurants involved and made it more competitive for those that are picked. read more

The cellar hands down was my favorite. But honorable mention was Brooklyn Pizza. And Locals would have been #1 if it wasn't a slider and more of a burger... it was good tho.
