This flower shop has the worst customer service and quality of flowers. My sweet boyfriend sent me flowers to my hotel room when I was traveling to New York. The rose petals started to turn black within 2 days. I called and explained to the person who answered the phone and quite rudely said fine I'll come look at them leave them at the front desk. When I returned that evening roses had been replaced with smaller ones, but they looked nice. Now 2 days later, even more of the petals are black and a few of the heads are drooping over. When I called again the man on the phone screamed at me and said they would not do anything about it and their flowers are fine. When I asked how long they should last he said 7-10 days. Well that did not happen twice. Then he hung up on me. Rude, I would not suggest doing business with this flower shop. read more

Ordered for the first time on Christmas Eve day, and the delivery was quickly on its way in less than a few hours. The quality of the flowers in my holiday arrangement was very good, but they forgot the baby's breath and the ribbon shown in the online picture. INSANELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I needed to have flowers delivered to a midtown theatre, so I did a google search. I called Lexington and asked if they had heard of the theatre. The person on the phone responded very sharply and said no. I then asked if he had experience delivering to theatre before. He said, and I quote, "I mean we've been around 40 years, what do you think?" I could hardly believe my ears. At that point I knew for certain that there was no chance in hell I would send this douche one red cent, but I responded nonetheless. I told him that a simple yes or no would have been a more sufficient and productive response, and that I asked because it was important that the flowers made it through the box office to the correct stage as there were several stages at this particular theatre, and to the actor's dressing room before show started. He went on to say he had been delivering flowers for a number of years and if I didn't feel comfortable then I should go with somebody else. I told him that I thought that was the smartest thing he had said during our conversation and to have a nice day. Earth to this loser, how could a person feel comfortable if you start the conversation out disrespectful and rude? There is no need to feel challenged when I potential customers ask logical questions. Doing that is a sure fire way to lose clientele. Really though, thank you. You did me a huge favor as this type of business is certainly not one I'd want to ever patronize. After reading the other reviews, it seems like my experience was validated. DO NOT USE THEM! Plenty of flower shops in NYC, best to avoid this one. They delivered a broken vase with the arrangement (almost $100 cost) and I called and person on phone blamed doorman. The doorman did not even handle the flowers since I came right down when delivery was made. Bag the arrangement came enclosed in was already filled with water. A cheap $2 glass vase should not even be a question to offer to replace. Guy said he was too busy to deal with it and only after I said I would dispute charge did he mention replacing. I requested an arrangement called "A Christmas Dozen" with a dozen roses for my boss that I carefully selected from the photos of arrangements posted on their website. She received an arrangement that looked nothing like what I ordered, right down to the vase, and to top it off, there were only 9 roses, not a dozen! Also, I requested that the arrangement be delivered after 3pm and it was delivered at 8am(!), thereby waking her up. Why did the designer not use the items represented in the photo on the website? They should have contacted me to let me know that the arrangement would not look like the one I purchased. Why even have photos of arrangements online to choose from if they are not going to look like them? If I wanted them to do as they like, I would have requested it. I requested a refund but they insisted on only sending a small arrangement to make up for it, which was a pathetic gesture. They would not respond to my email after that where I stated that it was an unfair exchange and requested the refund again. Very bad customer service considering their false advertising and timed delivery mistake. If you use them, I would suggest asking for a photo of the arrangement before it is delivered, and don't count on your requested delivery time being honored. read more

I had great customer service here and would definitely go back. The guys here are super nice and helpful. I was helped by John and even though they were very busy he helped me select my plants and was showing me all my options. Great guy. They cleaned all my plants and packaged them up for me,sprayed them with a vitamin solution, even offered to have one of their guys carry my plants to the location I was taking them to. Very affordable considering the other florists in the area who sell similar plants for twice as much. 10/10 experience would definitely go back. read more

I don't write many reviews but felt the need to give a positive one for this florist. I was weary about ordering flowers from here after reading all the terrible reviews but took a chance anyway because of it's proximity to my office, as the flowers were an anniversary gift to a coworker. I called and placed an order for pickup the next morning. Placed a non-specific basic order for a nice seasonal floral arrangement for about $75 so wasn't sure what to expect. I nervously made that walk to the florist in the morning and was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful arrangement waiting and ready for me. I only had a brief encounter with the gentleman at the register but he seemed very friendly and helpful. Needless to say my coworker loved the gorgeous flowers as did many others in the office. Bad product, bad attitude. I bought flowers here for my wife's birthday. They looked great. 3 days later they were wilting badly. Since I live across the street from the florist, I brought them back. The guy told me it was our fault for not changing the water. He yelled at me, "If you get a dog, and don't feed it for 3 days, of course it's going to die." What I didn't know then, since my wife told me later, was that she had in fact changed the water on the second day. Not that it would have mattered. His attitude was clearly "you've already paid me, so now you can go to hell." This is the type of New Yorker who makes people hate New Yorkers. Don't use this shop if you can avoid it. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID On May 9, 2014 I ordered a flower arrangement ("Garden Parade" - deluxe size) through the Lexington Flower Shop website for a Saturday (May 10, 2014) delivery. The charge for this arrangement request was $114.32; inclusive of a delivery charge of $10.00 and tax at $9.32 - I dispute this charge in its entirety. The arrangement, as ordered, was to be comprised of yellow roses, alstroemeria, and button spray chrysanthemums, red miniature gerberas and matsumoto asters along with purple statice, salal and fern delivered in a hurricane vase. The order, as delivered, contained lilac, no yellow roses and other flowers not as indicated above. The arrangement arrived and water immediately added to the vase. On Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10, I saw the arrangement and my recollection is clear - the various lilacs were browned and wilted and the arrangement in its entirety was not as described per my order request. On Monday, May 11, my mother called me to let me know how upset she was as the arrangement died with exception of two pink roses - all other flowers were browned and withered. On Monday, May 11, my mother called the Lexington Flower Shop to let them know what occurred. She asked to speak with the owner who then got on the line. Instead of being respectful, apologetic and helpful, the owner was discourteous, belligerent and condescending as he tried to "steamroll" over an 82 year old woman as he called her "crazy" followed by other nasty epithets implicit that she is stupid ("don't know what you're talking about," they can't be dead," "did you put them in water?") upon my mother informing him that the arrangement was apparently not fresh and had died. My mother had tried to explain the situation to the owner, but instead the owner hadn't any tolerance for an elderly woman's concern that her son spent over $100 for a flower arrangement which arrived on Friday and was mostly dead on Monday. Further, the owner's insulting behavior and intolerance toward my mother is absolutely unacceptable. My mother threw away the dead arrangement before the owner could see it, I am, however disputing the charge. read more

I will most likely never order from this place again. What I ordered was not what was sent and within 3 days the entire thing was dead. You would think for a $50 minimum it would last more than 3 days. Big issue was that my selection was not even close to what was sent. My son sent me a magnificent five-succulent arrangement for my birthday. Absolutely beautiful. Plants surrounding by black rocks in a long glass container. Sorry to say, it did not come with care instructions. One of the five died within six weeks, but because the other four seemed fine, I didn't think it was my "care" that killed it. Phoned John at Lexington Flowers and he promptly sent someone with a replacement plant. He planted the replacement in the arrangement and gave me a quick how-to-care tutorial. (I was very surprised to see how shallow the root systems was.) Keeping my fingers crossed. So very, very beautiful! read more

HORRENDOUS!!! The worst experience I've ever had ordering flowers. I called to cancel my order after 7 or 6 calls trying to get a confirmation of my order and the note, which I never received. The person was very flip about it when I called to cancel and said, "Good!" And told me he had cancelled my order. However, a few days later, an order was delivered on the wrong day when the recipient wasn't even in town yet. The only reason I found out about it was because I got the credit card receipt which had a charge for the flowers from the day of the initial call. I had asked them not to finalize anything until I approved the flowers and the note (which ended up not being correct), and of course I never got a chance to approve anything since I couldn't ever get the confirmation of my order. I called to get the receipt and to get the charge reversed and was called a crook and a thief and all kinds of other names. They kept hanging up on me and refused to give me a receipt. All this could have been avoided if they had competent people who work there. But they don't. And they choose to threaten and defame their customers, I've ordered flowers from here several times before, instead of taking responsibility for their own actions. Do yourself a favor and don't order from here!! They are so unprofessional and unhelpful! They kept telling me how busy they are, and they won't change while they are so busy. read more

They attempted a delivery for one of my administrative assistants, who was celebrating her birthday, but the flowers looked a little crumbled up due to transit. Sent a congratulations arrangement to colleague and paid extra for the "deluxe" treatment with more flowers. Colleague received the flowers and sent me a picture. To my surprise, the arrangement had 1/3 the flowers featured in the "This Magic Moment" photo I ordered on the website ..and that was BEFORE I paid for the deluxe upgrade for bigger/more flowers. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! I ordered flowers for my wife to her office for our anniversary and she never received them. When I called Lexington Flower Shop the next day, the owner John kept interrupting me and told me someone else signed for them even though 24 hours later she still has not received them. When you order food to your office, the delivery person calls you otherwise they don't let anyone sign for the package. Why this flower shop doesn't do the same I can't say but on top of them not delivering the flowers to her they have zero customer service when there is an issue. There are plenty of other flower shops in the area who are much nicer to deal with. THE OWNER JOHN IS VERY RUDE and he doesn't let you get a word in on the phone if there is an issue. He yelled at me and cut me off when I tried to speak and then he hung up on me. He was not willing to credit me the money back. Good thing I paid for this on my AMEX so I can dispute the charge. read more
