I would expect many to overlook this spot! But the service family was very attentive. The food, hot and tasty from Chicken and Cashews, to Sesame Chicken, Soup and Thai (Panang Curry).

I've been a couple times, hoping it was just a bad day. Nope. Terrible food. And very slow service that just isn't friendly.

I am sad to report that a lot has changed in 4 years…read more They've moved, they've changed cooks and the quality of the food has gone down the toilet. They new interior was the first indication. The dining room flowed right into the cashier area which flowed right into the kitchen which flowed right into the stairway to what may be the owners home. If it was more intimate it might have seemed like you had a exclusive seat inside the kitchen. But the high ceilings and the fact that our seats felt like they were an unobstructed football field's length from the kitchen gave the place an empty, cavernous feel. We got our wanton soup. It was lukewarm and bland. We got a couple noodle dishes and same thing, no flavor. I tried the rice and was amazed to discover that it was hard and dry, almost like it had been sitting on the counter for a couple hours. The pieces of chicken were just barely cooked and my wife bit into one to discover it was raw in the middle. I asked for some chili sauce, eager to improve this mess but discovered once I'd added it that it made the meal worse. I tried the sauce by itself and rather than chili it tasted like the inside of a refrigerator. I have no doubt that I was served the top couple spoonfuls from a jar that had been sitting, uncovered in the fridge for months. We tried to wash it all down with some more water but we were out. The poor gal had to run a marathon to get from the kitchen to the dining area so the service was infuriatingly slow and full water glasses were the casualties. We watched an Asian family walk in, review the menu and then walk out. Good call!! I only wish we had done the same.

It's the only place in Star Valley where you can eat Chinese food. It's good, as long as you know…read morewhat to get, if you don't know--you better pull out your reading glasses because the menu is LITERALLY 20 pages long. Sesame chicken, Orange chicken, or the Mongolian beef are my top three choices. You can never go wrong with any of them. The Sesame is crispy and piping hot, Orange is always good (although sometimes pretty spicy and it seems to be a gamble whenever you order it), and the Mongolian is a winner wherever you go. Be sure to try an egg roll as an appetizer as well, it's more of a spring roll (veggies instead of meat, and a thinner/crispier shell), and it's always hit the spot. The service is just, eh. The waiter I had was nice enough, but didn't really "sell" me on any of the food! He also didn't offer any dessert, I wanted to try something unique, he just brought my check as soon as I took my last bite. Nonetheless, if you're looking for great Chinese and you know exactly what to get--come to Cheng Chongs! TIPS & TRICKS: * Park in the south side parking lot, you can nonchalantly go in through the side door instead of making a huge racket as you walk into the front. * Take a look at and appreciate the decor. It literally is the only Chinese place that could pull of the "mounted-stuffed-animal-heads" in every corner. WELCOME TO WYOMIN' Y'ALL.

Delicious hot food in the mountains, what else could one ask for?…read more Food: All their food was delicious. Everything we tried was excellent. We tried the egg flower soup, lo mein, fried rice & black pepper chicken. Service: We were seated very quickly since the place was empty when we went in. The service was really fast. We ordered bean curd Szechuan style and it turned out to be mapo tofu. We ordered a beef w tomato dish that is under Soup but it is more like a braised beef than soup, but seasoning is okay. Chicken seasoning is good but the dish is too fatty/oily. The rest of the food is great. White rice is overcooked. We came back the 2nd time cuz there wasn't a lot of good Asian places. The walnut shrimp is sweet as expected from the mayo, but the batter from the deep dive is a bit too crunchy-hard. The intestine stir fried w chili is okay but it has some smell; it is also not spicy. Do not order lo mein, it is bland and noodle texture is not good. Highly recommend braised green beans. The special pork belly is a bit too sweet but still good overall. The beef in dry pot is tender but that dish is supposedly spicy but it is not.

My friends and I started off with some Thai Iced Teas which were solid! We then ordered the following: Pad Kee Mao w/crispy duck Spicy Fried Rice w/chicken Tom Kha Soup w/shrimp Pad See Ew w/beef Green curry w/chicken Honestly, everything was delicious but the ones that really stood out were the pad kee mao w/crispy duck and the tom kha soup w/chicken. The crispy duck was fantastic- juicy, tender, flavorful, and freshly fried. The noodles and seasoning/sauce in the pad kee mao were also good. As for the tom kha soup, the broth was very flavorful from the lemongrass, lime, galangal, etc. And the coconut milk added a nice creaminess to the soup. Not to mention, there was so much chicken, veggies, and mushrooms in the soup! Overall, my friends and I were very pleasantly surprised from our experience here at Thai Plate and we hope to come back when we visit Jacksonhole again!

I'm a huge Thai food snob, it's a luxury to have what is closest to the real thing. Red curry with veggie and tofu had an abundance of veggies with perfect veg to tofu to coconut milky goodness. Vegan spring rolls make you feel healthy so you can counteract that feeling by dousing it in the peanut sauce! Tom Kha soup-close your eyes again. ;)
