First and foremost, it's dog friendly! Yay! I was able to bring my pups (80lbs and 7lbs) and sit out on the patio. There was another couple who also had dogs sitting nearby. The server offered cold water in their dog dishes too. I ordered the key like calamari ($16) and the yellow tail crudo ($16). The calamari was so good and probably the best I've had. I squeezed a lemon across for extra tang and it was so good. Highly recommend! The yellowtail crudo was also delicious! That sauce that they had the fish was like crack! I dipped the calamari in that sauce. The server tried to take away the sauce, but i embarrassingly told her I'm still working on it. The bottomless mimosa was a great perk and was partially the reason i wanted to come here. I only tried the grapefruit and cranberry and realized, grapefruit is better. However, the burger patties was burnt to the crisp and was a big disappointment for a high-end restaurant. There's sushi was very average. For a nice restaurant I'll never go back. Our go to date night spot in IF! Such a cute location and always have had great service. The key lime aioli & calamari is always a must. The aioli is so good I could drink it. We ordered salmon tacos and their wagyu burger. The tacos were were filled with salmon, cabbage on corn tortilla. The salmon was nicely seasoned. My wife liked it. The wagyu burger came with cheese, bacon and mayo on a brioch bun. It was one of the best burgers that I've ever eaten. It was a little pricey. I asked for Clamato and she wasn't sure if they had it so I didn't know if she knew, so I started to explain and she said, "I know what it is." With an attitude. I left it at that. Got our food, she barely checked on us. As we're still eating she walks over and asked if we wanted dessert, we told her no thank you & she just walked away. I've been coming to Smokin Fins for over 3 years. I recently moved to Boise and tried their sister restaurant , Lucky Fins. Smokin Fins is better, IMHO. The people who work there make me feel like family. Joey, the manager, is always visible and checking with customers to ensure they have a good experience. Others like Tiffany, Riley, Alexis and Lily make dining at Smokin Fins memorable. Today I came back to Idaho Falls for a dental procedure and had dinner at Smokin Fins. After 8 months away, everyone working tonight remembered me. That was heart warming. I also noticed that many patrons know the workers. The fact that people know their names (because they don't wear name tags), says sooo much. I've been here twice and my first experience wasn't super great, but my second experience was. First experience with about a year ago and I got some sushi at lunch. I'm not sure if it was a chef, but the sushi wasn't that great. This time I got the mango tacos and the mango tango sushi roll. It was a perfect amount of food for me. I don't think I would've been full enough on the mango tacos. A loy my family got the mango tacos as well, but nobody was dissatisfied with the meal selection.
