Great experience from beginning to end at Kampai. When we walked in we were greeted right away and then seated. We sat at the Sushi bar and had an awesome server who was very sweet and attentive. I love a good Old Fashion and love the variation in flavors, so the waiter recommended the Open Sesame cocktail which was perfect for this dining experience. We ordered the following items; Akami, Buri, Unagi and Seared Salmon Belly Sushi. We also ordered two Hand-rolls ;Sake Avocado and Spicy Scallop-Avocado and two full rolls; Gros Ventre and the Crypto. Our appetizer was the Gomae (spinach) and we had the Gindara( black cod) entree. Everything was delicious and prepared perfectly!!!!! We will definitely go back next time we are in town!

TLDR: The best upscale Japanese food in Jackson. Beautiful, modern Asian aesthetic inside, and the food is just perfection. You can't miss the house salad and nasu eggplant for appetizers, and I have a soft spot for their sweet black cod dish as an entrée. ------ FOOD: 1. [Must Try] House Salad (5/5) - So good we ordered a second one after we tried this. Amazing texture, delicious dressing, felt relatively healthy too. A perfect appetizer. 2. [Must Try] Nasu (eggplant) (5/5) - Eggplant lovers must order this. It come with an addicting miso glaze so if you're trying to watch yourself, you can also order the glaze on the side. I didn't think it was too sweet to have the dish prepared as is though. 3. Black Cod (4.5/5) - The only reason why this is a 4.5 and not a 5 is because this also has that traditional, sticky miso glaze, but it's thicker and sweeter on this so it can be a lot for some people. I personally loved it, and the glaze aside, this cod was melt-in-your-mouth quality. I would ask for lighter sauce next time but this is still almost perfection. Plus a large serving! 4. Crispy Brussels (4.5/5) - Really unique Brussels dish! Comes with salmon caviar/roe that bursts in your mouth as you eat the Brussels sprouts. Gives it that fish / benito flavor that works well with an Asian-inspired Brussels dish. 5. Crypto Sushi Roll (4.5/5) - The seared wagyu on top has a great smokiness that gives this roll character 6. 10 pc Chef Choice Sashimi (4/5) - Great selection of tuna, yellowtail, scallop, black cod, and salmon sashimi 7. Hamachi Serrano (3.5/5) - Not the best I've ever had. I think was too strong on the soy and not enough on the yuzu? Others in the group really liked this though ------ SERVICE: * Top notch. You know this place is attentive and thoughtful. * They were constantly coming by to refill drinks and clear the table of any empty dishes or other small things ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Absolutely beautiful, modern, cozy Asian interior * Has a few different dining spaces all with slightly different vibes but all would have been great to sit at * I didn't feel like it was too crowded such that you could overhear what other tables were saying * Lots of street parking outdoors but by night there are lots of people trying to park so you may need to look elsewhere nearby to park

Although we had a rough start with the hosts not being able to accommodate us in the main dinning room, we had to wait a couple of hours and it was totally worth it. We sat at the sushi bar with a view of the massive bonsai tree in the middle of the dinning room and the Chefs gave a phenomenal experience that did not disappoint. Highly recommend and cannot wait to go again.

Best dining experience I had in my visit to Jackson. I was supieses to find a sophisticated; yet unpretentious dining experience like this here. I'm guessing most people are thinking they're visiting Jackson, WY for sushi. Well this place is legit. Chef (believe name is Chris) and Owner comes from San Francisco. He brought the goods with him. He was personable. Answered questions. Tempo of the food came out perfectly. I don't have a complaint on any of the pieces we had. Fatty Tuna was divine. Absolutely the best bite. When I'm back, I'm make a bee line to this place. As you might imagine, don't leave your wallet behind, because you will need it. P.S. Hit me up with you're landing in Austin. I was to be a first customer!

Words cannot describe how amazing the food is here. One of the best restaurants if not the best restaurant I have ever been to. My boyfriend and I loved this place so much that we came back 2 days later. The sushi chefs even recognized us and gave us extra special food. We sat one night at the dining room table and one night at the sushi bar. Both were a great experience and service, but the sushi bar was 1000x more special. The sushi chef can really cater to your taste and were super talkative and friendly. It's hard to choose what my favorite foods were. All the fish were incredibly fresh and high quality. The chef special (nigiri or sashimi) are a great price. My favorite appetizers were the sunomono and the gyoza. This is a fine dining restaurant, but I felt like the price was very fair for the quality and the service. We spent about $100/person (not including tip).

If you're in Jackson Hole and love sushi, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. It was so amazing that we ended up going twice during our vacation--we just couldn't stay away! The sushi is incredibly fresh. The sushi chefs are not only talented but also super friendly. They make you feel welcome the moment you sit down. For the best experience, you should definitely dine at the sushi bar. Watching the chefs at work is a show in itself, and they're more than happy to chat and give recommendations. On my second visit, I tried sushi with caviar and foie gras, and it was mind-blowing--the combination of flavors and textures was unforgettable. The service was top-notch, with a team that knows how to take care of you without being intrusive. If you're looking for a unique and delicious sushi experience in Jackson Hole, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.

Best sushi in Jacksonhole! This is by far the best yellowtail sashimi I've ever had. We sat at the bar and Kate & Amy gave us amazing service!! We are so happy that we chose to come here!

Such a beautiful spot in Jackson that has such a comfortable but posh feel inside. The dining room felt more like you were in a friend's modern home/kitchen. Service was so friendly and prompt from the moment we got in. They got drinks going while we waited for our table to be ready and food came out quickly. The sushi is as good as it gets; truly some of the best sashimi I've had in my life. So melt-in-your-mouth flavorful and fresh! Even got seconds on the salmon it was so good. The cold smoke cocktail with maple sake was also fantastic and such a unique flavor, highly recommend! 10/10 spot, definitely snag a reservation when you can!

A unique setting in a wine / liquor store with a tapas bar in the back, amongst the wine racks and liquor bottles. Long communal tables and sitting hip to hip with foodies, locals, and people meeting total strangers. It is good conversation with everyone sharing stories, not once was politics mentioned. Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! The menu changes frequently and the tapas allow you to try several different delectable dishes. It encourages sharing and forces you to open up and try different dishes. Hands-down my favorite food and conversation while visiting Jackson, WY. To the staff here at Binn 22, congrats on a unique and completely fabulous dinner and concept. We stopped in with a local friend who knew the folks owning and working here and ordered tons of items for us to try. We didn't try a sushi roll unfortunately, but it's just bc we had ordered so much already! We tried the beet salad, the ribs (delicious but a bit spicy), the tempura veggies which were SO good and fresh and crispy and only lightly breaded, the broccolini, edamame and the dumplings. So we really had almost everything we could except sushi. All was great and my husband, who is a big fan of pork dumplings, loved these a lot. He raved about them all the rest of the night. For dessert - I was torn between a few things but went with the standard homemade chocolate cheesecake and it was delicious. The crust was a sort of coconut deliciousness that I especially loved. Service was great and the inside is small, but very classy. Highly recommend if you are a sushi fan. Believe the owner is from Hawaii so there is a Hawaiian influence to the food.

We found Yoi Mi on Yelp and decided to double-check with the front desk host at our RV resort. She…read moresaid she and her husband go there for date night every week, so that sealed the deal. This is a hibachi steakhouse, but don't expect the show. They cook everything in the back and bring it out to your table. It's tucked into a tiny strip mall, and honestly, we drove right past it the first time. The outside isn't much to look at, kind of a "blink and you'll miss it" vibe, but don't let that fool you. Inside is simple: some booths, some tables, and a cool sign on the wall with koi fish artwork and the name of the restaurant. It's low-key, but they're super friendly. We were greeted right away, drink orders taken fast, and our food came out quickly after that. I ordered a salad (not included with the meal but worth adding), and we got noodles as a shared side. They brought those out first like an appetizer. The yum-yum sauce was great, definitely not the bottled kind. I had the filet and shrimp hibachi dinner, which came with rice and vegetables. My husband had the filet dinner. Everything was cooked perfectly. The shrimp had a nice, light teriyaki flavor, and the steak was tender and flavorful. Dinner came to around $66 plus tip for both of us, really fair pricing for the quality. Bottom line: it's a hole-in-the-wall that knows what it's doing. If you're passing through Idaho Falls and craving hibachi without the tableside flair, this place is worth a stop. We'd absolutely go back.

JUST WOW........Would have given 10 stars if the system allowed it!!!…read more We were staying in the area and came here because it had the highest rated score for sushi on Yelp and let me tell you....it did NOT disappoint!!! Coming from California to visit in the area, we didn't have very high hopes for this place considering it's 12 hours to the nearest coast! Seafood in the middle of Idaho come on!! Not to mention the prices were so cheap I couldn't believe it! Heck there is Gas station sushi in Cali that cost more.... When we first walked in we were greeted by the nicest staff! VERY attentive and constantly keeping our glasses full, with the sushi continually coming to the table throughout the visit! There was an older gentleman who, I think was the owner, that visited our table maybe 4 times to ask if everything was ok and do whatever he could to make our visit memorable! Probably the BEST wait staff of any place we ate at in Idaho Falls!!! The building itself was nicely done matching any sushi place in California. Pretty good size and there were a lot of people eating here, but the service was so good they made their jobs look easy! Now onto the food...There really isn't anything I can say to convince you to visit except that EVERYTHING was AMAZING. My group had about 10 different rolls as well as appetizer choices and nigiri and I must say, ALL of it was better than the places back home!!! This place would be dangerous if we lived here, because I believe we would spend a good portion of my check here EVERY week!!! Rolls that stood out...DO NOT eat here without having a Snow Drop roll, holy cow that might be the best roll I've ever had at any sushi bar!!! The Dancing Eel roll was tremendous as well! The sauce that came on that sucker would be worth paying for enough to take a bath in, if you happen to be rich enough to afford it! Even the cheaper rolls that many places use as filler rolls were superbly elevated to a higher level! Also don't miss the deep fried rice topped with spicy tuna appetizer, it was phenomenal!!! We had two of those!!! Anyway in the end, both the staff and the food was AMAZING!! Who would have thought sushi in Idaho?!?! You have raised the bar above on ANY Cali similar restaurant. DO NOT MISS this place!!!! We will definitely be eating here again before we leave!! We will come back here again and again as you should toooooo!! I will post pictures after our next visit later in the week....
