My go-to plumber was too busy to come at the last second's notice, so I found these guys. I called…read moreto clear a kitchen sink drain. I told them the clog is at the clean-out because this is where the problem is always at. They said the fee to come out is $129. Okay, cool.
The tech came and took apart the plumbing underneath the sink and broke the T. He tried to tell me that it wa already broken and I already had a leak to begin with (which I didn't). The leak started after he took apart the piping (which I was watching him do), and while taking everything apart, he broke it somehow. He blamed it on old metal parts breaking, but I told him the clog isn't in the piping, but in/after the clean-out. If he just opened the clean-out like my usual plumber does, he shouldn't have taken apart the piping underneath the sink.
Then, he called me to tell me the T is $179! $179 for a $25 part!!! I told him exactly where the plumbing store I go to is (2.5 miles away), but he insisted on going to "his guy". I also told him that he is the one who broke it, why should I pay for it? But at this point, I needed it to be fixed as well as the clogging so I had no choice but to have him complete that part/repair.
So he fixes everything, and calls me back and says that he couldn't fix the clog. He even ran a snake, but now he is going to have to run a camera to see what is blocking it. So I said, forget it. This is getting to be bigger deal than it should be and it's about to be very expensive for the T that he broke, the snaking, the camera, and whatever else afterwards.
It would be:
$129 fee for coming out
$179 for the T that he bought
$308 TOTAL, so far without even fixing the clog itself. Plus he was going to charge extra for the snaking.
He called me back to tell me that he isn't charging for the T-AS HE SHOULDN'T HAVE SINCE HE BROKE IT ($179), and it would only be for the call-out fee of $129. So I paid $129 for him to show up and have something else to be broken, then fixed, and the original issue was not being resolved at all. He left because he tried to upsell me on using the camera, etc.
The biller at the company calls me to get my CC info for payment, and I asked for a receipt after giving her my information. She said she can't get a receipt because her machine is broken. Okay, so I asked for an invoice. She said once her machine is fixed, she would send it to me.
2 hours goes by, and nothing. So I called back again and she says, "you know what, the payment didn't go through", and I said, "yes, it did because it's already charged to my CC and I can see it". She then says that she can't send me a receipt until the money shows up in her bank. I'm like WTH. I see it charged on my CC already. She says, "Just print out your CC statement with the charge, and there is your receipt". Just wow.
She then asks me for proof of payment, so I send her a screenshot of my CC account. Asking me for proof? Are you kidding me? Look at your system, your POS, if the payment went through, it went through!!
Then she says, she will send it to me tomorrow. I said I want it now because this is starting to sound shady, and it's been a couple hours since I paid, and I haven't received anything. Then she says, "I'm at home already, I'm not at the office". I told her that I didn't understand why I have to go to all these "hoops" to get an invoice/receipt sent to me. She then hangs up on me. I call her back 3 times, now she doesn't answer the phone. I text her, no reply now.
Very unprofessional from the work that was done or more like, not done.
Very unprofessional from the biller not being able to give me a receipt or solid invoice that I can tie this purchase to, and to tell me to print my statement as a receipt and for hanging up on me.
These guys are a joke! MIGHT be a jack of all trades on a good day, but definitely a master of none! Plumbing definitely isn't their forte!''
Everything that happened with them seems like a SCAM!!
AT THE END, my Go-To plumber came and fixed the problem! He found a clog in the clean-out as mentioned to the LA Handy Man plumber in the beginning!!!!! I told this guy that the clog always happens there!!!!
This tells me LA Handy Man plumber is just incompetent!!!
