Do not rely on google reviews. Have owned my 2019Toyota rav4 for 7 years with excellent maintenance, and currently under 65/70k miles. Every Toyota service center I've been to has been a consistent cost, with the exception of an extra charge when necessary. I nearly choked when I got a call saying my bill at this scam center was 300% more than I've ever paid. THREE HUNDRED % MORE. They are sneaky about it; they induce stress, doubt, and create scenarios that make you second guess if doing nothing impacts your safety. "Corroded" and "rusted" seemed to be trigger words they use over the phone to their customers. Adjectives used on my car that is serviced every 5k. Sure.. When I asked for further explanation of my statement (blonde service member), I was dismissed, she rushed off. She didn't come over to me to explain what was being done even though she knew I was staying, but rather chose to call me. A less confrontational way for her to manipulate and an easier way to get out of explaining this. Older male (ralph I think) also used these tactics ^. The 300% more service statement for both instances showed a measly time ACTUALLY spent hands on my car. I had called so many times asking to see how the services are coded and billed. There was also no labor rate noted anywhere on my statement. I cannot put more emphasis on the amount of deception occurring in this center, and the entire Lia auto group. Females be wary. read more

I will never go back to this dealer, period. I usually don't write reviews, but having small things missing from my truck, that takes the cake! Took 5 hours for a rear brake job that I had to go back for because it was not completed properly. Then, another two hours later, when they were looking at the brake job, they damaged my vehicle in the garage so it had to go to the body shop. They actually had the nerve to tell me that they dont have a loaner to give me after they damage my vehicle, I had to get a uber ride the next day to go to the dealer to get a loaner, and take time out of my schedule for that. They didnt take anything off of my brake job bill for any of the convienience or even an free oil change. Not that you should expect anything, but it is good business. Then I had a box in the back of my truck that had flares and small toolbox, that was missing when I got the truck back. The manager tried to make it right a little during the process, but overall, the whole thing simply demonstrated to me, they just do not care about their customer. read more

I'm here at Lia Toyota of Rockland this morning, Wednesday 04/21/2021, for scheduled maintenance @15k miles. My service advisor suggests the car needs alignment, and oh by the way, alignment is not covered under the free 24k/ 2yr maintenance plan. Yea, that'll be $150 out of pocket. Umm... the car was just aligned within the last two weeks due to collision repair. It looks and drives great. The alignment is fine and the tires are new. And now Lia Toyota of Rockland wants to hit me up for alignment? Please. Give me a break. I will not be bringing my car back to Lia for service once the 24k/ 2yr maintenance plan expires. I can do without the bogus services at premium prices that Lia Toyota of Rockland charges. No thanks. This is no way to earn customer loyalty, duh. read more

It does not help that we have been bombarded with stereotypes of what the car buying experience is like. Anxiety drives your mind with ideas that the salesperson is a sleazy hustler and wants you to spend money you.... 1 - don't have, or 2 - don't need to spend. Rest assured that KERRY MAHER is NOT your typical salesperson. She is patient, kind and truly wants to provide you with what is in your best interest. She didn't try to make me take a bite out of something that I could not chew! This lady knows everything about each vehicle and can provide you with suggestions that will accommodate your needs. Truly a genuine person - she came in on a day she did NOT normally work to help me purchase my car. Who does this? Kerry does! She knows the value of making sure her customers are taken care of. She is attentive and even though we were wearing masks, you can tell she was smiling warmly. She also involved Reggie who helped us understand the ins and outs of what our purchase entailed. Overall, we are very pleased and will be doing more business with Toyota. We honestly and truly hope that Kerry and Reggie will be around for it! read more

I love my car - however the dealer promised things they will not deliver. I ordered a light leather interior, but that is not what was delivered. if I wanted to wait another 4 months with a special order I could have it, but they said it was available with my original contract after waiting 2 months. Secondly they convinced me to take the most expensive warranty for repair saying that their service department would offer a lender vehicle when I needed to bring in my car for servicing. this was of great interest for me since I live 25 minutes away from this dealership. Now when I go for my first service appointment they tell me that they have changed their service policy there are no more lender vehicles. Buyer beware. they do not deliver as promised. read more

Dishonest business practices, just like the Brooklyn and Staten Island dealerships I've used for service in the past. You bring it in for one thing, and they give you a nice anxiety attack with an itemized list of services that they identified needs doing based on their "multi-point inspection". I take it their definition of an inspection is quite loose, as they recommended I change my cabin air filter which was 3 months old at that time and free of any visible dirt. Need a new battery? Cranks just as good as the day I drove it off the lot. Oh, and they wanted to do spark plugs at half the mileage the service manual recommends. Really, guys? Just wanted a quality oil change and tire rotation, but I guess I'll start giving my business to someone less corporate moving forward. read more

DEALERSHIP SERVICE SCAM! Brought my new to me 2020 Supra into this dealership for warranty work. 7/24/21. After two days diagnosing the vehicle they tell me my warranty is voided and they want me to pay $2500 bill for their diagnostic. Peter Vaccaro - Service Manager told me they will brand my title if I choose to not have them perform the work on my vehicle and my warranty will be voided. If I pay them $2,300 + labor for two coils packs they (Toyota) will pay for the two coil packs and my title will not be branded. I called corporate made a case with the dealership corporate lead me in a circle back to speaking with Peter V. and till today my vehicle is still being held due to the balance they claim I owe them. I've still have not received proof of why my vehicle warranty had been voided. Making me come out of pocket over $2k, CASH PAYMENT ONLY! I'm being denied Credit card or Debit card as payment method. Stay away from this dealership for service they are running a highway scam trying to milk out their customers. read more

They are bunch of dishonest thieves!! from the sales to service! The Most dishonest business I have ever seen in my life. All I needed was to change the battery of my car key, the guy at the desk in the parts department changed the battery and asked me to go test to see if my key worked! While he knew it was not going to work with the wrong battery he had intentionally put in! When I returned and told him, my key is not working , he said I need a new key when I asked how much he walked me to the service department and I was told $375. I had a hunch something was wrong, I got my key back went to Auto zone, new battery they put in for me for $10. Problem solved! read more

We had brought our car in because of a lock issue with the back passenger door. We had to bring it back 3 times, as this issue was still not resolved. After paying over $1700 of services with them... the door is still not fixed. Both my husband and I have been calling and leaving voicemails for the last two weeks, and we still have not had a manager call us to resolve the issue. We are disgusted. Went in for a Rav 4 prime, asked to see the sticker and was told it was in the car. Sticker is nowhere to be found. After the test drive, we were told by the sales agent that since this vehicle is in such high demand, they are pricing $5,000 over sticker price. I was disgusted. I went to the Lia Rockland website and saw a Supra I was interested in. I sent an online inquiry with my trade-in info. I was hounded for days to come in and see it. Numerous emails and phone calls. I finally made an appointment. To their credit the salesman called in advance to say they did not have the car and never had the car. I am disappointed but at least I did not waste my time. I'm going to write this review on behalf of my mother as well as myself. Mom went to Rockland Toyota because she got a special discount from Costco to buy a new RAV4. She went to Rockland Toyota last week and had a lengthy but informative conversation with Ana and decided on the 2016 hybrid Limited RAV4. Ana was very patient with her and answered all of her questions and remained personable as well. Mom really enjoyed the experience even though they went back-and-forth with models a few times. She said Ana was never pushy, which is really important when buying a car and finding a trustworthy salesperson. Mom made arrangements to come back to the dealership over the weekend with me to sign some paperwork and pick up the car. Ana said she wouldn't be in but she would ask her coworker, Nate, to help us with the car and learning how to use it. Nate is young and funny. He was very knowledgeable regarding how to use the new car. Mom and I asked him a lot of questions and he was very thorough. We went into the finance manager to finalize the paperwork and we met with Alberto. Alberto was wonderful! He was very honest and straightforward regarding the insurance add-ons and told us what we needed and what we didn't. We discussed other options regarding insurance and we were even able to customize the dollar amounts to suit mom's budget. We walked out of there very satisfied. All in all, mom and I had an excellent experience at Rockland Toyota. I definitely recommend going to them if you're looking for a Toyota. I wish I was looking for a Toyota because I know they would give me a great deal as well as a positive experience. read more

Walked in on a Saturday to pick up a new Camry, at lease end. I sat with Aaron and Jillian, who were incredibly friendly, and easy to work with. I had a strict budget, and let them know what I was comfortable with. We talked for a bit, and they helped me work out a deal that made sense financially and let me get into a brand new Camry! Lia Toyota Review Lia Toyota of Rockland may as well change their name to LIAR Toyota if they continue to employ the Director of Service Operations at the dealership. That individual is a pseudo sophisticated, intellectually sterile bully, who likes to make idle threats. He should be relegated to just washing cars, if not terminated, by Sr. Management and the Owners. It is not surprising that he appears to have the worst on-line reviews on the website from customers, a mere 2 stars. In my case, my Toyota Tacoma was finally approved, after 2 years of waiting, to have the rusted frame replaced under the recall program. It was delivered to the dealership on the day I received approval notification, and I was told that the process would take about a week. The truck had just over 78,000 miles on it and was in excellent operating condition when I delivered it to Lia Toyota. During the frame replacement process, I was asked if I wanted to have the front shock/strut assemblies and the rear shocks replaced for $1,200. They had already been replaced within the last 2 years and were fine, so I declined that offer. After 2 weeks of work, I was notified to pick up my vehicle. Upon arrival to pick up the vehicle and inspecting it before leaving, the CHECK ENGINE Warning light and Slip indicator dashboard lights were both illuminated. The service rep was shown the warning lights, and my truck was brought back into the shop, since I said there were NO diagnostic trouble codes registered when the vehicle was initially brought in for the frame replacement. A mechanic checked out the problem, and eventually reported that an emission system hose had been mistakenly left off and was reinstalled. I asked for and was given a list of the four (4) diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that were found because of this error, and the codes were cleared. The truck was driven home and to work the next day, a total of 8 miles, and the CHECK ENGINE light as well as the SLIP warning indicator light below it both reappeared. The truck was immediately brought back to Lia Toyota and left there. I was eventually called while I was traveling out of State and told by my assigned service rep. that it needed to have the emissions canister replaced at a cost of over $860, and that it was not warrantied, and I would have to pay for it. I was irate and asked to speak with someone in charge because I said the emissions code problems were created by the mechanics when the frame was replaced and was not a pre-existing condition. I was then connected to Mr. Peter Vaccaro, the Director of Service Operations. During our conversation he was obnoxious, condescending and belligerent. He constantly interrupted and talked over me, saying that this was not warrantied. I attempted to explain multiple times that it had nothing to do with the emissions warranty, but that the system was damaged during the frame replacement work done by Lia, especially since many of the system hoses and components were disconnected during the process, and not correctly reattached. Since I was out of state on business and traveling in a car during the call, we were suddenly disconnected during the conversation due to poor cell coverage. Mr. Vaccaro called back and left the following voice mail message: "Mr. L, this is Peter Vaccaro, we were speaking on the phone before you so rudely hung up on me. I just want to let you know that your vehicle is here, and it is completed. I'll give you to 5:00pm this evening to pick it up. If you do not pick it up to pick it up by 5pm, at 5:01 pm I will contact the local PD and inform them that our loaner car has been stolen and um we will report it as such. Your vehicle is ready to be picked up now so we are not going to be doing anything further on it, and if you would like to speak with Toyota directly, please feel free to do so, and um, they can advise you of whatever they um wish. But as far as this dealership is concerned, we are done with the vehicle, and we are not doing anything further, it is waiting for you to pick up. You do have until 5 pm today to pick it up, if it is not picked up, I reiterate, I must report the vehicle that you're using as a loaner, you are now using it as a stolen vehicle. You are now after 5pm using it without authorization and therefore it's considered a stolen vehicle. I do not wish to go down that route. I do not wish to have an adversarial relationship with you but unfortunately this is something that is not covered by Toyota, it is an internal problem in that part, and when we own something goes bad we must take responsibility for it. If I do not hear from you I by 5 pm will take the appropriate action. Bye." He had been told by me already, and my service rep. also knew, that I was out of State and was scheduled to pick up my truck 2 days later, so I simply found the phone number for Toyota Corporate Complaints and contacted them, thereby opening a case against the dealership. They said yes and that they would schedule an appointment for me to come in and see it. Warning to everyone who has a Toyota from Rockland toyota. DO NOT GO THERE FOR YOUR CAR INSPECTION. My husband went to get his inspection done and he was shock by the result of what happened. The service men came to my husband and told my husband his car failed the inspection because the car needed several work before hand. He was extremely shock so he walked out of the build and long behold he saw one of the service guys driving his car around for the inspection. He followed the car around the build and witnessed them plugging the car in. He was shocked. They lied to him, the service person told him his car failed the inspection before even inspecting the car. We feel lied to and cheated. Put in an email inquiry on a vehicle in their inventory. Got a voicemail from a woman who sounded like she had a mouth full of food, she left a message on my answering machine. I called her back at the extension number listed on the email and it went to a woman of a different name. I spoke to someone on the switchboard to ask why this was happening and was told that the person I was calling did not update the mailbox yet. Okay, so I leave a message with two phone numbers on the voicemail for a person named "Hailey" and hoping that it will be returned by "Erika". I never got a call back. Well, that is okay because this is exactly all I need to know about this business, they did not want to sell us a car. We went to another Toyota dealership and purchased a car on 1/21/17. Oh, by the way... I informed Yelp that you are no longer Rockland Toyota... your name is LIA Toyota. We went in to LIA because their online advertisement on their website listed a car we were interested in that had a written "LIA price" of 29K. We drove the advertised car and when we asked about buying it, the salesman kept insisting the "LIA price" was the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) and therefore not guaranteed, even though it said in the ad we showed him "LIA price." I had been looking for a used RAV4 for over 6 months Due to their reputation, the last place I wanted to go to was LIA Toyota, which I ended up at anyway. Glad I did because that's where I finally found my new used RAV4. When I went there last year, their prices were high, the staff couldn't care less abut helping me when I entered. After I dealt with a salesman and didn't find anything I liked, he told me he'd get in touch as soon as something new came in. Never heard from him again This time around I was met with a friendly and very pleasant staff. After I test drove the car I wanted, and being a woman, I was preparing myself for the dreaded BS, haggling and dealing over the car. I asked for the upfront internet price and the salesman went away into an office. A short time later I was met by a sales manager named Jillian. She introduced herself and and was straight forward in talking with me. She told me the best price they could do and I was very surprised (and pleased) that they actually offered me a fair price (no haggling necessary). She took care of all the necessary paperwork and made sure I was pleased with my purchase. Any questions or concerns I had, she made sure they were answered and taken care of. Everything was upfront, filling out all paperwork was simple, no hidden fees, etc.. Needless to say, I bought the car I wanted and drove my car home that day. The whole experience was so different and much more pleasant than any previous times at any dealership. If you're in the market for a new or used vehicle, I highly recommend this place. We gave the car to them for auto body shop for repair. We were told it will take 10 days max to repair but it's been almost 18 days and they still haven't answered. Called few days back & was informed by the service team who was helping me and that it will take few days. When I called again the person who was helping me with my car originally was not there so they transferred the line to someone else who was supposed to help us. When we spoke to the gentleman he said the person who was helping me took the day off. The guy on the phone was helping us was clueless and he was really rude. It is a big company & how is it possible that a employee is off, so no one else can help the customer. It got to the point that my supervisor approached me about receiving the harassing phone calls and it jeopardized my work. I vowed never to return to this dealership, however my car had a recall. The technician Terry, was extremely helpful with assisting me and getting the job done right away. He took the time to explain the pros and cons of the different automatic start systems for the car. I made an appointment to have an oil change on my 2010 Highlander. I arranged for the shuttle service to my office so that I would not have to miss any of my work day. I arrived at 8:25am to check my car in and was told there would be a 9am shuttle. There were cars lined up outside, so I parked the car and proceed to walk into the service area. Two people told me very rudely to drive my car up to the service bay. I relied that my arms were full of work materials and the car was parked - could they move it when they were ready for it? I sat in the waiting room for 35 minutes and then proceeded to wait by the door at 9am. The shuttle driver had been in the facility the entire time I was waiting but made me wait until 9:05 to leave (I was the only person taking the 9am shuttle!). Off to a great start! Mid morning, while in a meeting, I received a phone call from Paul at Rockland Toyota telling me that my car needed new brakes and four new tires, etc. I informed him that the tires and brakes were new within the last year and to please just change the oil, fluids and notify me when the car was ready to pick up. He began to argue with me and I hung up on him to return to my meeting. When I went to the dealership to retrieve the car at lunchtime, I was treated very rudely by Paul who once again went through the list of bogus repairs my vehicle needed, noting that he was "required to inform customers" and since I had hung up on him he must warn me that in a couple of thousand miles I would hear metal grinding as my brake pads were almost gone.. This experience was so distasteful, the service so horrendous that I will never take my car there again - no matter the convenience and proximity to my place of work. I would rather give up part of my Saturday and take the car to another location and wait for the work to be done than have to deal with the rude, obnoxious staff at Rockland Toyota. read more

THIS COMPANY STINKS! I already had a Toyota Sienna I leased from Lia Toyota of Rockland. I went in at the expiration of my lease wanting to lease TWO Toyota Sienna's. Once again I dealt with the sales manager Reggie Pierre. Reggie said he would check to see if he could find me the Sienna's I wanted. Four days later and I received no call back. I called and left a message on Reggie's voice asking why he had not gotten back to me. No call back. The service department stinks too! I brought my van in prior to the lease expiration for an oil change. The service department told me to leave the van and come back in 70 minutes. I did. A History of Bad Service Experiences & Long Waits I brought my 2013 plug-in Prius into Rockland Toyota for a New York State Emissions Inspection. It's the third Prius we've owned. I opted to wait in the waiting area since I was told inspections normally take an hour or less. I was treated in a friendly manner, but the service department kept getting my current 2013 Prius confused with our previous 2012 Prius, which we no longer own, and they called me after I was there 20 minutes to clear up the confusion. Well, I was apparently forgotten and my car sat untouched for over an hour before I noticed it sitting outside. Thinking it was finished, I asked the service advisor about it. (It wouldn't be the first time my car was finished and I wasn't notified. I've made it a habit to look for my car in the parking lot after an hour, as I've found it there several times and discovered it had been finished for a while.) After I brought it to my service advisor's attention, it was brought into the garage relatively quickly, but I still had to be the one to check outside later and see that my car was parked in the lot, and therefore had to ask my service advisor again about the car. All in all, a one-hour state emissions inspection took two-and-a-half hours, and it would've taken longer if I hadn't thought to look and ask. As such, since this seems to be commonplace there, I won't be returning to Rockland Toyota for service OR sales, and I'll be leaving this review on several sites. (Especially since it seems like Rockland Toyota may have paid for identical positive reviews across several sites.) DO NOT PURCHASE A RAV 4 ADVENTURE. We have purchased no less than 8 vehicles from this dealership. Or used to be top notch. The owner has stepped down and now it is run by the son. Oh boy. We have had 3 rav4s and like them. We were sold on the adventure because they said it could tow 3500 lbs. Due to its cooling system. We foolishly bought one. First, it doesn't come with a hitch and they are fairly handy if you want to tow anything. When we're went to lia Toyota after we're bought the car to get a hitch put on, nobody there had any clue. We were quoted a price for the hitch and labor......4 DAYS LATER they were still tying to get a hitch on and claimed they forgot to include a massive labor charge. After all of that, we traveled 2 and a half hours to buy a trailer. Once we bought that they told us that lia Toyota had pt the wrong hitch on and they would have top take that off then put on a new one. This ended up costing us 3 different trips top the rv place. Now I am sitting here while these installers look online to try to find a hitch for this ridiculous vehicle. If I knew that this was the case, I NEVER would have wasted time and money on it. I would have bought a pickup. We are so furious right now, it's hard to imagine ever buying a Toyota again. We ended up with some experiment that Toyota was trying out. Screw them. I went to Lia with expectations of professionalism. My husband and I spent a lot of time checking a car out even bringing our mechanic. We set up insurance and pick up the next day only to be called the day of pick up to be told it was sold already. Denis the manager really pulled one over. The deception is unbelievable.
