I'm leaving this review specifically regarding Connor who is a salesperson at Bill Kolb Jr Subaru. I walked in and several sales people walked past without acknowledging me. No eye contact, no greeting, nothing. I was more than a little surprised. Connor approached me with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. He made me feel welcome and asked if I was being helped. I said that I needed help and he immediately came to my assistance with knowledgeable experience and confidence. It was a pleasure spending time with him. Sadly, the service department has gone downhill over the last few years. The online reservation system poses a particular problem. Today, for example, I made a 7 am appointment but they car was not even looked at until 8:30. During a previous visit a few months ago, we made an online appointment, specifying the service we needed, only to be told on arrival that the technician specializing in that service was not scheduled for that day. read more

Held me hostage for about an hour because they can't get their acts together. Found a razor blade and a puddle of oil on the floor mat, along with discarded water bottles. They did leave me a letter asking me to "trade up." The service took four days and it's very hard to get through to the service dept for updates. I've never loved this dealership or service center but go bc of convenience. I'll go to NJ from now on bc it's less of a circus. Really, really didn't appreciate the wait time or the dangerous trash left in my car by the mechanics. Disgusting! Update: the service manager called and reimbursed me the $1300 for the service. We called about a specific vehicle which we were looking to purchase. We scheduled an appointment and were assigned a sales consultant, Mellie. We drove 2 hours to get tot the dealership. As we wwre parking, the vehicle was taken out for a test drive by another couple and the sales consultant was busy with other customers. She said she knew what vehicle we were there for but later stated she didn't get the information about what vehicle. We were offered a test drive when the other couple came back, and were accompanied by a client services person who talked the whole test drive, but wasn't able to answer any questions about the vehicle. Mellie stated that they had another one in the same color in transit but when I stated that online it said it was another color, she agreed. Both of them stated that they had a partner dealership "upstate" but when we asked where because we live upstate and we could go there, Mellie checked and all of a sudden it was in New Jersey. She then pushed the window sticker of the one transit in front of us and my husband stated we didn't want that color. She offered to finally look to see if any other partner dealerships had it, which they had both previously stated they were going to do, but hadn't yet although she went and spoke to the service manager about checking, we were done. We will not be customers of this dealership again, which is disappointing becaue our previous purchase here was easy. read more

Got a buy back can and they were very transparent and upfront they told me it was a buy back (I already knew but was gratifying knowing they were honest and sincere and told me about it) showed me all the documents for the reason why it was a buy back, worked out with me to get a great deal. Overall very satisfied. In general there is a great vibe. I didn't feel pressured to buy the car, everyone seems to be happy working there. I would really do business with them again. BUYER BEWARE I am writing this on shoulder of I-87 in my disabled forester. I bought the car new 5 years ago and have since had countless problems with it. Before the vehicle had 70k miles on it the engine needed to be completely rebuilt. The breaks have completely locked up twice and ground to nothing. The engine has died while driving the vehicle in spite of both the gas gauge and the car computer saying the vehicle has 10-20% fuel capacity and 50-60 miles of range. This is at least the 7th time I have been stranded on the highway in dangerous conditions. There have been times when I have dealt with the service department where they have been rude or told me the persistent problems that i have had with my car didn't exist. I have had to bring my car back in multiple times to have the same repairs made because they were botched or not performed fully. I am done with subaru, and I certainly am unhappy with how bill kolbs service department has handled both me and my vehicle. I have a very legthy list of customer service investigations and complaints with subaru's corporate headquarters, but they have gotten me nowhere other that stranded on the side of the road once more. read more

We stopped in Tuesday and, thanks to the great salesman, John, and no pressure finance rep, we went home with a Subaru - yes, that day! We arrived at 10 AM and drove home in a new car at 2:30 PM. Well, it took me just over two months to write this review because I wanted to fully evaluate each aspect of this dealership since I had a couple of things that did happen and wanted to see how everything was handled. I got my new 2018 Subaru Forester Limited back in the end of this past April and I love how this was a haggle free buying experience. I initially went two 2 other Subaru dealerships and did not get the deal that Bill Kolb Jr. offered me and got more features on my new Forester that I anticipated. The Eyesight feature alone was the best part because I am saving more than $600 a year on my insurance. Juan, the salesman was amazing and very patient with me and was able to make that deal happen since this technically the first car I have under my name. Also, was very thorough in explaining the features of the car when I went to pick up the car. My situation was unique and understand that this piece took a little bit of time, but in the end it all worked out. So, i know sometimes things are not perfect when you first buy a new car because I've had it happen to me before. I drive away and noticed once I was close to home that my stereo system sounded off that the sound was only coming from the back and not the front. I know that my Harmon/Kardon speakers were not suppose to sound like that. I called to express my concern and the representative that assisted me over the phone was helpful and suggested that I bring the car back to have it looked at. Gary, the service representative was very helpful and thorough in explaining what happened, which happen to be an extra fuse and then my speakers sounded fabulous! I then drive away and switch to my AM/FM radio after I crossed the Tappan Zee and that was not working for some reason. I ended up waiting to go back when I got my first oil change today because the dealership is relativity far away from me. Got my oil changed and Gary was very helpful, yet again. The radio was fixed and now I fully love my new Forester! The only thing I was surprised about is that I did not get my first oil change for free, which I found kinda odd because this is the 6th new car I have purchased in my lifetime and the previous 5 all got their first oil change for free. My overall experience was definitely more than expected and would return here for a future purchase, along with recommending them to my friends are in the market for a new vehicle. read more

We purchased the car in January, and two weeks latter we tried for the first time to use the second key for the car and the phob would not work. We have called the dealership three times, was told that someone would get back to us, and they never did. The last call (July 5th) my wife left a message for Rich Brito, whom we have not heard back from. Had a bad experience with this dealer as an out of state buyer. They didn't know anything that they needed to do on their end to help me register the car. Told them I pay the taxes for the car in my state and they still had me pay with them. Then I had to wait for a check to be refunded. After a month with the car I needed to do $2000 in repairs. Turn of the century service dept just doesn't cut it today It pains me to have to give a three star review to a business where most of the people I dealt with were pleasant and nothing terribly wrong occurred. But I haven't had a service experience this poor for at least 15 years. It started with pulling onto the lot and seeing no signs or people to direct me to the service area. After a bit I *did* see what might be a small service tent but there was no one to be found and the tent was blocked by a line of cars. Thinking that maybe the system here is to park in line and then find the service area I did so. It was only after I got out and started to head into the dealership that someone approached and told me I had to move my car - it was in the line of cars that had been serviced and were waiting for their drivers (?!?!?). He didn't care where I parked my car it just couldn't be there. So I drove around and found a space on the sales side. Then I went in, waited, and stood in front of a service rep. Who apparently had no access to the information I had entered on the website when I made the appointment - such as why I was there or what the car's mileage might be. To add insult to injury I was told that I had to go back out into the driving rain and get the VIN off my car before they could proceed. Which I did. Afterward I headed off to the customer 'lounge'. A small, depressing room which at various points during my wait had more customers than seats. Which had no exterior windows nor opening to a larger area. With a weird coffee maker and (when I entered) no coffee cups and a solitary Nutri-Grain breakfast bar, its main 'amenity' was a loud TV most of the occupants did their best to ignore. A little under 2 hours later they had finished my car's oil change and I was on my way. Very happy to have left turn of the century service behind. I can only compare this to the dealerships where I get our two other cars serviced (neither of which is a 'luxury' nor 'premium' brand). At both locations I follow the 'service' signs into a weather proofed garage where I am greeted by a service rep, handed a tag, and asked to sit in front of another rep. Who accesses my appointment info, makes sure it is all correct, and has me sign paperwork. I then head off to the customer lounge where there are normal coffee makers, bagels and other refreshments, and a large area with plenty of comfortable seats both close to and far away from the TV. Would I go here again for service? Maybe...but only if I got a loaner car. read more

My family leased many Subarus over the years from this dealership. However I am DISGUSTED at the most recent lease experience we had with this dealership. The "30 day return policy" that they advertise is not a return policy and they shouldn't be able to call it that - it's a SCAM to try to get you to commit to something on the spot. I also would suggest whatever "promises" they make to you, have them written down on paper. We were completely MISLED by the salesman, and when we tried to actually use the 30 day return policy, this dealership refused to answer our calls and speak to us in person. They took complete advantage of my mother, who is a recent widow (and they knew this) and wouldn't do anything to make good on what they "promised". We are now paying 2x what we should be for the lease because of their dishonest return policy and DEPLORABLE sales practices. After 10 years with an '07 Impreza from Bill Kolb, I was in the market for a new car and had a great experience working with Connor Flood in the sales department. They offer a variety of affordable, high-quality pre-owned cars in their inventory, and I immediately found the right price, size, year, and model for my needs. Connor was very accommodating with my schedule- coming from out of state, I could only make it late on a weeknight, yet the staff were friendly and sociable, even as it was getting late in the evening. He and the service department were quick to gather all the information I requested about the vehicle, and was very patient, forthcoming, and professional in addressing all of my questions. Overall, very pleasant experience working with their sales team. No bait and switch, cars are priced to sell at fair market value, and since the sales team does not work on commission, there are no high-pressure tactics or pushy sales approaches. The 30 day no questions asked return window offers peace of mind when making such a significant purchase (though I don't intend to use it). The only disappointment was noticing a small chip in the windshield, which had been obscured by the sale sticker. It's possible the staff did not notice this, as I didn't see it either, until taking a closer look at the exterior upon arriving home. While not a major issue, I didn't expect to be scheduling a windshield repair within a day of owning the car. (Lesson learned- pay closer attention to the cosmetic details when car shopping). Their customer service is horrible. Any time I called to ask the person who sold me the car some questions after I bought the car he was useless. Today he would help me with my questions and just transferred me to another extension with no one there. He was bad when I bought the car and he is still bad!!! I felt that they took advantage of me. It was in July of 2020, I had just had an accident and my hand was in a cast answer I had a black eye and I was alone. I feel that they took advantage roof all of that. I just bought my second Subaru in two years. Connor Flood sold both to me, and after the first one, I wouldn't deal with anyone else. The one we bought last year was a replacement for one we bought in 2007 from the Bill Kolb dealership. We had previously bought five or six other Subarus from other dealers in the tri-state area over the last twenty five years, but BK stands head and shoulders above the rest. Connor was straight forward and honest through both transactions. He didn't try to upsell us or sell us something we didn't want or need. I am passively Satisfied. Nobody like to pay retail or premium. We purchased a Legacy on Consumer Reports Recommendation, the best in it's class. Originally I asked to see basic Legacy and was switched up to the fully loaded Limited. We had a proper introduction from my sister's girlfriend who is related. That didn't help me. It helped her because she gets a finders fee. We Paid Fair Market value for the vehicle. (No discount) We were given the absolute Blue Book minimum for a trade in. Which brought the purchase to above fair market value for me. I was strongly advised to purchase the extra warrantee coverage because we have a premium electronics package. ( 98% of Subaru's are still on the road after 10 years ) Despite my mistrust and past experiences with auto repair policies I took the contract because consumer reports advises that after getting high depreciation on Luxury vehicles you pay for that discount when the electronic gismos fail. The car came with scratches on the rear trunk & a ding. The car wasn't certified because that would have raised the price??? I thought Starlink was free for a trial period & I was automatically billed for the service. $US150.00 (ding) The owners Manuel was missing and I was told it was going to be mailed. My wife stopped by the showroom to pick it up. If I lose the car key. that's another $US 400.00 It's a beautiful car, rides nice, fully loaded, my wife loves it, my Mother approves & I was good for the money. I don't like paying premium above retail. I only buy cars once in every ten years and according to an article on the internet this car should last 250,000.00 miles. when I bought my car, they sold it to me with literally no gas in the car and the horn didn't work. then when I went to have the horn fixed, they exchanged the wheels for stock wheels with cheap wheel covers. I had a warranty for the vehicle, but the service department never got back to me no matter how many messages I left. Terrible service. they make you bring the car into them so they can up charge you on additional repairs that you don't need. read more

We looked at a new vehicle online and they quoted us a price and when we went in that car was not available but we were able to order the same vehicle with the same options and our choice of color for the same price as originally quoted which was a fair price. Glen Toker was our sales rep and he was excellent. He always was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My experiences with the sales department snd service departments have been atrocious. Read my previous reviews. NEVER buy the maintenance plan. They expire. I paid for 4 oil changes and only got 2 (my mileage was low so it expired before I needed a change. Don't get service here unless it's a recall. And if it's a recall expect to wait. love the car , I'm angry at the sales men , they sold me an extended warranty lied to me saying I was covered bumper to bumper for 6 years and 60000 miles, so far any of the repairs I made are not covered and I'm being told the 6 years reverted to the original purchase date not my purchase date. So I basically threw 2k in the garbage for 3 not 6 year year warranty. I am so happy with my Subaru Impreza and the customer service I received from this dealership. Howard was a great salesman and really took the time to help me fall in love with the car, although it didn't take much. I also felt like I walked away with a great deal on a great car.
