I ordered the Southwest Omelette with sausage, green peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and a side of potatoes and toast. All American. Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar biscuit, and potatoes was Dave's order. The cheddar biscuit was nearly the size of my hand. Easily 2.5 times larger than average biscuits. My former manager, Jimmy Randolph, told me years ago that his mother made cat head biscuits. The biscuit was at least the size of a cat's head. The cheddar biscuit was delicious. Dave said everything about his order except the potatoes was ok. He is a simple man who does not want green peppers, onions or anything else cooked with his potatoes. As soon as he saw the add ons to his side of potatoes, he had a grumpy look. He refused to eat said add ons. He said he wouldn't order a side of potatoes again. 3/5 My Southwest Omelette and potatoes was average. The omelette was cooked too much. It was dry. There wasn't enough cheese in my humble opinion. The potatoes were ok. The potatoes were boiled with no crisp edges. I prefer crispy potatoes. I did eat the add ons. They were flavorful. 3/5 The menu lists breakfast potatoes. No description of additional bell peppers and onions added. I bought a few petit fours. Two vanilla and two chocolate for $8. They were beautifully decorated and tasted good. They were not the best I have had but not the worst. 4/5 I will return to Edgar's. They have many bakery items to select from. The young person (woman) decided to help me, she was silent (didnt speak a courteous word.) I was asking about the Easter cupcakes, she simply demanded "which ones do you want". She then proceeded to put the selected cupcakes in a carry out vessel and crushed the lovely icing into the top of the clamshell. She never even slowed down to see what she did. She then went away for several minutes while I was trying to checkout without cupcakes. Once the first (helper???) actually brought the cupcakes the checkout person turned them on their side. This causes the icing to just slide off of the top of their respective cupcakes. So basically, Edgar ruined my wifes Easter surprise. I won't visit this business ag!

I did start with my favorite - the smiley face buttercream icing sugar cookie. Really, the bottom sugar cookie is just acting as a vehicle for the nearly 1" tall circle of buttercream icing (it may be frosting - I honestly don't know the difference and, really, I don't care, all I know is that I can eat their buttercream with a spoon.) It took 3 days to actually get to the sugar cookie on the bottom. Along with the cookie, I bought just a bunch of random baked goods. I bought my husband an iced brownie which he didn't finish because it was just way too sweet. I bought one of my childhood favorites - a cream horn. This is coming from the person who ate straight butter cream for three days - the cream was so sweet it just overwhelmed the delicate horn. I ate the pastry which was delicious only after I scraped out the cream. I bought a blueberry scone for breakfast - nothing at all special. And finally, I got my husband a banana nut muffin. He said "taste this" - I don't know what was wrong with it but it was awful and we tossed it. Peggy Ann Bakery is known for their petit fours. Both my husband and my son's FIL said "huh, I don't know" when asked if they knew what a petit four was. If you're younger than 50, you might not know either, but these tiny cakes are a favorite at Southern showers and teas. I've really never known anyone who just ate them because they liked them but they do make you want to go "pinkies out" when you see them displayed on the table. I was really excited about my visit to Peggy Ann Bakery but now it just makes me sad - I spent $16 yet we threw away almost half of what I bought.

It's obvious that Dr. Janis' treats are made with love. I had no idea that she also makes homecooked meals right next door! That is on my list of foods to try. I stopped by for some froyo after work a couple of weeks ago. I used to work at a froyo shop in…read morehigh school. The trend died out a while ago but some shops still persist. I'll admit they make me nostalgic and I usually have fairly high expectations for them, since (though I'm biased) I feel like I worked at a pretty good one. The reviews for Zen Beri weren't that great but I honestly thought it was pretty good. This shop is located in a large, somewhat labyrinthine shopping center and the signage is nondescript, but there's plenty of parking and it's accessible. The inside is small but clean and cute. The staff member greeted me politely. I went to the back of the shop to check out the froyo flavors. They didn't have a super extensive selection (maybe about 10 flavors), but many sounded tasty. Eventually, the staff member offered me some sample cups, which were self serve. I'm clearly out of practice; two of my three samples came out great but one of them splattered all over my arm. It's veryyyy sticky lol. I tried the butter pecan, a coffee flavor, and one other that I don't recall the name of but remember liking...something vaguely nutty, but it's gone from my memory now lol. Anyway, the butter pecan was quite yummy; the coffee had a slightly odd taste that I didn't care for. 2/3 isn't bad. I have what I think is a pretty perfect froyo combo that typically tastes great and fulfills the build your own fantasy without overloading the toppings and making the flavor weird. I got some chocolate yogurt, paired it with a little of the butter pecan, and then topped it with crumbled Reese's and Oreos and a dusting of pecan pieces. Ideally, this creation is completed with a generous drizzle of hot fudge, but their hot fudge dispenser was either clogged or empty and my attempts were fruitless. Other than this mishap, the topping selection had lots of good choices kept clean and topped off nicely, though it wasn't a crazy extensive number of different options. I honestly find that preferable in terms of waste and decision making, but YMMV depending on what you like with your froyo. The price per ounce seemed reasonable and the employee remained friendly and pleasant through the checkout process. My creation tasted as I remembered (I've had better chocolate froyo but this one was good enough and the butter pecan was quite yummy) and I enjoyed it overall. This is a solid froyo shop and I'm glad to have stopped in. TL;DR: clean shop with polite employees; relatively small selection of flavors and toppings but what's available is fairly high quality and presented well. Worth a try!
