I bought a 1994 Mazda Miata sports car in 1994 for my son's high school graduation. I have kept it ever since. I have driven it only a few hundred miles each year for the past many years. It now has slightly over 101,000 miles. I am now in the process of bringing it back to life, with safety the most important goal, for my sixteen-year-old grandson. I took it to Liberty Auto Electric in Paterson where they were to do an overall inspection of the car. To do all of the work they recommended the cost would be over $5000. I selected a few of the most important and told them to do the repairs. One of these repairs was the rear brakes. I had not noticed that the brakes were bad, but they are an important safety issue so I told them to do the work. The cost was to be $478.41, but once they took a look at the brakes, they called me and said the calipers on the brakes needed to be replaced also for an additional $452.94. I told them to proceed. They called me on Friday of that week, and I went to pick up the car. On the way home I at once felt that the brakes were not SAFE. I had to pump the brakes slightly to get them to give me a secure feeling that they would stop the car. Because of this, I always started stopping well in advance on the way home. But I thought, it the brakes did not work, my emergency brake could be used. I tested the emergency brake and found that it did not work at all. I have used that emergency brake for the past 30 years with no issues. I called Liberty Auto Electric and they told me to bring the car back in. I did. They worked on the car again. The brakes still do not give me a solid feeling of safety, and the emergency brake is still totally inoperable. I went online and listened to a "youtube" video Mazda brake repair. It said that if you are not careful when working on the brake calipers you can break them, and then you will not be able to properly adjust the emergency brake. I sent a link for this video to Liberty Auto Electric. I will never use Liberty Auto Electric again, nor do I recommend them. It is bad enough that they could not repair the car, but to take your money and then hand the car back to you, twice, not only not fully repaired, but to find that they have broken another feature of the car that worked perfectly prior to them working on the car to be broken, is inexcusable. read more

I dropped of my car for issue with overheating and issues with starting the car and the shop inspected the care and informed the problem it has is the temperature sensor was installed incorrectly and thermostat is not opening and thermostat housing needs to be replaced, and I need to pay $718.66 to have the car fixed. There were no other issues diagnosed at the moment. They also offered 1 year warranty on the repairs. So, I paid, and the car repaired and 1 week later the car started overheating again and they won't do the repair warranty instead they were telling me there is other issues and it's not that and I need to replace my engine when it is literally with the overheating issue in my car. They charged me $718.66 for just the replacement of temperature sensor and a thermostat and my issue still remains. This shop is a thief and stealing money from hardworking consumers. I was so stressed over the issues and needed my car immediately fixed and they took advantage of that. I want to make this complaint and sue the shop for lying and stealing money from me. This shop is either lying or they did not fix the overheating issue as should have done and caused the new issue with overheating. Also, there is anti-freeze in my car reservoir and it's not going to the engine when this was inspected and had been solved by the shop supposedly. read more

My daughters car was having problems with the computer screen for the back up camera, phone, radio etc. we went to our regular mechanic and he sent us here as it was electrical. They were 100% welcoming & very helpful. Hooked her car up to the diagnostic and reset it. In doing that they were able to detect something that is being "recalled" by Chevy and would be fixed by Chevy at no cost to us in the future. It was the most pleasant car repair experience I have ever had. We had no appt just took a chance and drove in. Such nice people. Would highly recommend this place. read more

Great service. This was my first time here. I got an A/C service, oil change and an alignment for about $190. I bought my car used in January and the A/C never worked for me, they could have told me it needed everything and charged me through the nose, but they didn't. The A/C service for $90 made it work perfectly. Highly recommend. read more

I bought a 04 Nissan Frontier supercharged with a misfire, Liberty put new injector and connector in and disconnected the rest of the wiring for me so I could do a valve cover gasket in for only $100, I was shocked by how cheap, the quality of work and turn around time was. A few months later I had them reassemble the supercharger it was only $200 (Nissan quoted me 800-1000), the truck runs perfect and I will continue going to them till I die. read more

This guy must be a joke to advertise as an auto electric and diagnostic shop. I took my car to him because my car battery was draining power or what is called parasitic power loss. They charged me $230 to fix the problem. However the problem came back the very same day. So I went back to them and they were very nice and said they would take care of it. To make a long story short the problem was never fixed even though I went back four times. Each time they would give me different story and ask me for more money for more repairs. Finally I took my car to a different mechanic who fixed it for $100. These guys don't know what they are doing and are also very dishonest. read more

I just needed a quick fuse change because the cigarette lighter / charger wasn't working. I was in & out in 10 mins costed me $10 and the staff was friendly. The dealership wanted $140 just to see what the problem was and more for parts & labor.....thanks for not raping the general public.....100% tip to the mechanic read more

my 13-year-old Cadillac started having intermittent starting issue about a year ago, I took it to 3 "local" repair shops including a very well know Cadillac dealer without anyone being able to diagnose the issue. it took one of Juan's "auto technicians" about 8 minutes to give me a firm answer. within hours my car was back on the road, better than ever. after years of searching, I have found my new "Family Mechanic" . outstanding work, great staff, safe and secure location. I can't imagine going any place else.
