The school partners with a coalition of businesses and civic organizations to hire a full time employee from their school. Each job is staffed by 5 students who each choose one day a week to work at their job, and spend the other four days a week at Cristo Rey High School. The salary that is paid helps the student cover the cost of their tuition, but the real value is in teaching high schoolers is the ability to build a professional resume so that when they go to college they can earn the degree that will allow them to continue to grow their professional career. I hope more Silicon Valley companies, especially startups, can see the value of getting 5 high school students answering their phones, working at help desks, testing and giving feedback on iOS and Android apps all the while knowing they are helping to rebuild America. Kudos to the Cristo Rey organization, Father Pabst for being the school's first president and to City Councilman Sam Liccardo for supporting the school. For alums of the Five Wounds Portugese Catholic School that used to be here, know that your old alma matter is in good hands as San Jose's latest, greatest private high school.

I took him out because the schools communication sucks, they had a teacher asking kids inappropriate questions about p**n and some of the staff are snarky and rude. Stay away from this place!! The moment we joined, we felt surrounded by a community that is nothing but loving and supportive. We haven't just found a school; we've all developed lifelong friendships here. Our child is surrounded by dedicated teachers and staff who genuinely care about their success. SJV does an incredible job of balancing rigorous academics with a strong focus on faith and character development. It's more than a school; it's an extended family.

From the teachers to the staff to the other families, everyone is welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in the students. The teachers care deeply about their students and go above and beyond to support them both academically and personally. I've seen firsthand how much dedication they bring to the classroom, and it makes a meaningful difference for my daughter. The Extended Care program has also been amazing. As a working parent, it's incredibly helpful, but what really stands out is how wonderful the teachers are with the kids (shout out to Mrs. Cindy and Mrs. Isola). They create such a positive environment that it's sometimes hard to get my daughter to leave at pickup! We feel very lucky to be part of the Saint John Vianney community and are grateful for the caring environment they provide for our daughter every day.

The students are so disrespectful to the teacher's like there calling the teachers names like WHAT THE HELL. To be honest if your thinking to enroll or transfer your kid to this school DO NOT DO IT! like sent your kid to a better school like pidemont hills, evergreen, independent, santa teresa or silver creek. And yes i,m not coming back to this school next year screw this school.

I know it's to fight against gangs or whatever but like, it is an elementary school???? No one is gangbanging at 3rd grade. Second, the school lunches sucked, like really sucked, they all tasted bad except for the pizza. Everything but 2 lunches taste bad in my new school, and i can just get a second option. Third, the teachers, only a few were ok, the rest were not, but one specific P.E coach threatened to break my finger. Im no Saul Goodman but i think its a crime to threaten a minor. when i was like in 3rd-4th grade. same coach also did not appreciate how i did cursive, a useless skill. WHEN I WAS IN LEARNING LAB! SHE DOESNT EVEN TEACH THERE! MIND YOUR DAMN BUSINESS LADY! While on the topic of the learning lab, all of those teachers sucked. Don't even need to elaborate. Field trips next, these were one of the only good parts about the school. Science camp in Livermore was cool and so was the one in Saratoga i think. Great america was also cool.

Not just academically but also when it comes to kindness, love, care, and character building for all the children modeled by teachers and staff. Even though it is not a religious school, I feel there are more love and compassion in this school more than any other religious place I've been to. Everyone, the principle, teachers, staff, students, fellow parents, all are so caring and making every member of the school feel so special and loved. Children need love! I feel so good dropping Jake's off each day at school and he loves going to school so much! Alexander keeps saying how come Jake's school is so cool and all Jake's teachers love him so much!! They also organize a lot of cool events. They want the children to be well rounded. The school relies heavily on staff and parent volunteers since it does not have much funding and it serves mostly low income students. Yet everyone serves with all their heart !! Still contemplating on moving Alexander over to Jake's school. ROMO with all our hearts!!
