Went there today for mother's day brunch. $34pp plus tip…read more No omelet station, desserts were store bought, cash bar - not even a free mimosa included. Very little in the way of breakfast. No whipped cream for waffles, the scrambled eggs were cooked in the oven and they turned green, the bacon was woefully undercooked swimming in an inch of grease. The luncheon items were passable, but they had a random taco bar. It almost seemed like this was the first time they had brunch. Their Constant Contact campaign worked, but I would never eat there again unfortunately. Was there for a few dinners and a wedding. The space is very ornate, but the taste level is a little off. They had Christmas lights going up the steps, but they used the green ones that are meant for a tree. They make white stringed lights that would look better on the white painted wood - Christmas Tree Shoppe , $4 a box, or get them or buy on Amazon. They more importantly just need a better cook unfortunately, someone that knows the temperature to cook eggs and bacon or the common sense not to put it out looking like that. You can see the green eggs....take the top green stuff off before you serve it. https://www.leaf.tv/articles/how-do-i-keep-scrambled-eggs-from-turning-green/

Jones Winery is one of my new favorites in CT! I went for the first time the other day, and…read moreinitially went to the wrong place! Keep in mind that there is a "Jones Family Farm Pumpkinseed Hill" at 120 Beardsley Rd., and then the "Jones Valley Farm/Jones Winery" at 606 Walnut Tree Rd. My GPS accidentally took me to the Pumpkinseed Farm at first, but it wasn't a big deal because the winery is just a few minutes away. Once I was in the right place, a staff member greeted me and gave me the wine/food menu. They have a lot of different areas to sit, including a patio with tables/umbrellas (where they had live music playing), a pavilion with tables underneath, an upper patio that was covered by a pergola with leaves/vines on top, and an inside bar area with seating. The inside bar area has garage doors that were open, leading out to the upper patio. Even though it was a hot day, I sat under the pergola and it was surprisingly cool underneath! After sitting down, a staff member quickly came over and took my drink/food order. I tried a glass of the Sunshine White, which was delicious! It was on the sweeter side though. Keep in mind that they only sell wine by the glass on the menu, but they do have a store where you can buy bottles to go. I also ordered the Simply Cheese Plate, which came with sharp cheddar cheese, Jones Berry Chutney, and sea salt crackers. This was excellent! They also do have a "Light Fare" menu with things like a hummus plate, cheesecake, popcorn, etc. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. They had a "Bouquet Bar" set up where you could buy fresh cut flowers, as well as a small gift shop. Overall a very cool winery in Shelton, I would definitely recommend!

I just got to know about this place last year. I was surprised to see so many vegan options on…read moretheir menu. This is located in Ansonia where not many vegan options are around. It seems they have a food truck too, but I believe it was not operational during the winter. I tried a few options from here, all vegan, 3 different mini burgers for $10 (I don't see this option on their menu any more), sweet potato fries and onion rings. Everything tasted delicious. The eatery is more of a parking garage and it felt really cold during the winter. They have a bar and it's a self service place. There was only one employee taking the orders. Overall, we had a long wait time before we got our food. I will be back to enjoy the food as the weather is getting warm. I highly recommend this place to vegetarians and vegans.

Super cool concept, we were attracted in by the "food truck food" but in a restaurant like setting…read morewith tables. We ordered empanadas, onion rings, and 3 sliders to share. My husband ordered a cosmo from the bar, I just got a bottle of water. It was pretty expensive and the wait time was LONG. We were the only ones there when we arrived. The drink took at least 15 minutes to come out and was literally the smallest drink I've ever seen. The food took even longer, 20-25 minutes after ordering until it came out. We asked for ketchup, but they never brought it back out to us. There are no condiments or napkins available for self service. One bite of the empanadas and we were met with a strong rancid taste. Same with the onion rings. Completely inedible. I'm not sure if the food was bad or the oil had gone rancid but it was unacceptable. Sliders were ok. The hangover slider was disgusting with an egg patty on it that was easily 3-4 times as thick as the burger itself. Like an omelet. Usually when there's an egg on a burger it's a nice sunny side up fresh egg. This was gross, and it was brown. We took that off. The burger still had a funny flavor so we skipped eating the rest of it. The general tso's slider was good but other than that I had an overwhelming feeling like I was going to get sick from this food. We left the food mostly uneaten and left to go somewhere else. I would definitely not go back!
