Bed Bugs! If you care about your well being, I would move on to another hotel. The hotel management, (Assistant and GM) were not helpful at all. After video proof of the bed bug in my bed including my bites, they still stuck with the claim that housekeeping and their engineer didn't find any bedbugs. There was no empathy nor concern for my incident. As a member of a hospitality team, you would think once they heard word of the issue they would have reached out. WRONG, I had to reach out to them each time to try and come to a resolution and report the issue. It took me contacting corporate to get any sense of compassion for what was going on because it sure didn't come from the Joseph Jurek (Asst. GM) or Mihir Bhatt (GM). If you're planning on booking here, I would definitely think again.

This hotel offers basic accommodations. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Situated near major highways. There is ample parking.

Reception desk and sales manager were inhospitable and unaccommodating - almost rude - towards our group of 6 rooms.

Stayed here twice in two months and had mixed experiences! First was good, second was terrible!…read more First off, bring your own pillow because all Hilton pillows are flat and provide no support. Our first stay was average. We stayed on the 6th floor in a king room. The room was dated but clean. Being gold Hilton members, we got free breakfast which was meh. Definitely not worth $21/person (go to the Plaza Diner up the street for a better breakfast). Second stay was horrible! Not worth the 30k points paid for the room. No water bottles at check in and the front desk person was not friendly, more dismissive. We checked into room 205 around 3pm. Immediately, we noticed the toilet was broken. They sent someone within 5 minutes to fix it. When we can back at night after dinner around 11pm, our entire room smelled like gas! We both were getting lightheaded and went to the front desk to change rooms. We were then moved to 215 which was better. They offered us free breakfast in the morning but we passed. Coming to shelton again, I would choose a different hotel to try! I would have expected more from a Hilton. Definitely needs renovations!

HOWEVER- staff completely ignored me upon checking in. Her coworker had to tell me that the woman I was trying to check in with was a bubblehead who doesn't pay attention to anything. So he had to intervene and take over (I am not entirely sure of the professionalism in completely throwing your coworker under the bus, lol). I had to call the front desk to have my bathroom cleaned. It had a black ring around the tub and there was extension hair behind the toilet. I mentioned this to the front desk agent and she asked me if I wanted the whole room cleaned. My response was "maybe we should if the bathroom looks this bad!". She laughed and acknowledged that her laughter was an inappropriate response. The room was not addressed until I called a second time after noon. There was rust, mold, dust, and an overall appeal of a hotel in desperate need of attention and refurbishment. But they have free breakfast! Week two: missing essentially all of paper products, and soap upon check-in. Tub does not hold water. Rust on nearly all fixtures. But they have a pool! Week three: I have noticed that I say "good morning" to staff every day and they are buried in their phones. They do not acknowledge customers coming in and out. They definitely have issues with parking as every day I have tried to exit for important work matters and have been met with a delivery truck or shuttle directly in front of the hotel with not much of a way for customers to get their cars out. Week 4: I'm so over this place. Fights have broken out during my stay. The fire alarm has gone off. Police have visited on a separate occasion, not related to the second issue... One woman in particular was causing trouble for many of the hotel patrons. Staff were informed many times, but nothing was done about this particular woman who was causing massive disruption and physical abuse to others. This is close to being the absolute most ghetto place I've ever stayed at. ...but they have a gym! :::shrug::: Location is prime, however. You decide, lol. Inconsistent, unprofessional, outdated... but they have a fitness room (obviously unimpressed at this point)! Definitely not a pleasant experience during the entirety of the month. This place needs an extensive overhaul of staff professionalism, service, support, cleanliness, communication, and appeal. :::This concludes my four week diary:::

I made a commitment regarding reviewing this hotel that I have put off, but no longer…read more I would be rating this hotel a 5 with the greatest enthusiasm behind it, except that the hot tub was not working during my recent stay. I was told, much to my surprise and displeasure, that it had not been working for 2 years! The website said it was "temporarily out of order" when I booked the room. I hoped it would be repaired by the time of my stay, not realizing the serious of the situation until I arrived. The woman at the front desk told me she had been trying to expedite the repairs with management. I told her I would also let the Marriott Corp. know that I would like very much for them to make the repairs ASAP. The hot tub ends up being a deal breaker for me on future trips because, considering the price differential between this hotel and others nearby that are reasonably clean and comfortable, the hot tub benefit is what justifies the additional cost. That is only because of a good government employee discount I get at Marriott hotels. If not for that, this place would most likely not even be within a reasonable price range for me, but with that discount and the hot tub available, it's a deal worth taking. There are other benefits to this hotel, compared to others in the area that people might consider worth paying an additionally for, but for me, the hot tub is the one that matters. The interior at ground level and the exterior grounds are both excellent. The on-site restaurant is good and not exceedingly expensive. So if they reopen the hot tub I will jump to rate it a 5.

At breakfast the floor was so sticky my shoe stuck. M Club was seriously disgusting. Old food from previous day left sitting. I am not sure why this is still a full Marriott. We will not stay again until hotel is completely remodelled.

It's really difficult working with the public and meeting expectations. As I keep saying, SERVICE is #1 in my opinion. No, we can't make everyone happy but when we're professional and do what we can do to meet expectations with the service we provide with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and that is the KEY. The negatives that I can point out is the fact they do not have security cameras outside the hotel only lobby and laundry room. The place does not have a well ventilated system throughout, even with the windows cracked you take in every single thing that is being cooked. Oh, don't let someone burn food it's literally suffocating and seeps into the rooms and all up in you sinuses. I'm not sure if all the floors/rooms are smoking rooms but that can be a problem too especially if your not a smoker. I was moved to the 3rd floor after I could no longer go along to get along. I was literally feeling ill with all the combinations of them all, I now keep a towel underneath my door. There's no security cameras outside the hotel so when I have to park in the back I get out with my mace. See, I watch a lot of Crime Shows so I need camera footage, DNA under my fingers and blood in my mouth when I bite a criminal. The hotel sits on a hill so I'm able to do the incline when walking. There's 2 eyes on the stove, no oven, cold fridge, microwave, quiet a.c. unit , pots pans, utensils, alright comfy mattress and pillows @ $130 a night not bad. You can request frequent room cleaning 24 hours in advance outside of the 2 weeks if you like, no hassle for additional bath towels, I receive a lot of packages and mail again no problem with that. Grocery stories within walking distance, variety of food restaurants and fast food options, they are on a bus line and hop on and off the highway. No computer room which is AWFUL for an extended stay, there are times when I need to use a stand alone computer and print things off. All in all 4 stars in my book.

The result here is a full-to-brimming hotel, which makes the thin walls and echoey hallways especially problematic. Without the mobs and their noise, this is a fairly standard no-frills hotel. Comfortable enough, but stripped-down amenities and loud heater/AC unit in the outer wall brand this as a low-end place. (In fact, paying north of $100 for this feels wrong.) I've seen complaints about the Wi-Fi here, though it's working just fine for us. Repeatedly having to click "I Agree" gets tiresome after a while, but for free Wi-Fi, it's doing the trick. The hotel gets three stars instead of two, though, on the strength of this morning's breakfast-room staffer, who quietly navigated the overstuffed space, dodging slow-moving elderly guests and fast-moving children (and their bouncing rubber balls), efficiently stocking and restocking the muffins and bananas and waffle-maker supplies. The room and the bathroom was clean, and the service was pretty good and I slept pretty well on their double bed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for something a notch above your Knights Inns, Super 8s, Howard Johnson's, and Motel 6s.
