They were punctual, professional and incredibly helpful in making the night successful. All the wait staff were excellent and food and drink flowed! Nick Shope and his team catered my wedding last May, and I could not have asked for a better wedding dinner. From our free tasting, when we sat down and were presented with a table full of delicious hors d'oeuvres and mains, we knew his company had the cooking chops. Within ten minutes of talking to him, we also knew he had the experience to pull it off. His prices were the real clincher--I dare you to find a better priced wedding caterer in CT. Trust me, I tried. He offers one flat rate for everything, with service and almost every rental item I needed included. He also offered an open bar package that defies reason. With such a reasonable price for a caterer, my parents were worried it would be a disaster, but they were eating their words later. We had an over-the-top delicious cocktail hour and a beautiful buffet dinner with the best wedding food we've ever had. There is nothing his team cannot do. I wanted an Asian-inspired salmon. They gave me a moist, grilled, glazed salmon that I still think about. I wanted a white vegetable lasagna for my vegetarian friends. They gave me a decadent lasagna. I asked for cocktail shrimp. For a small fee, they brought out platters and platters of the most enormous cocktail shrimp I've ever seen. I've gotten so many compliments on the food after the wedding. Even the two most discerning and honest food critics in my life, my mom and my mother-in-law, had only glowing things to say. The whole night ran smoothly, as Nick's team tirelessly worked behind the scenes in a tight kitchen space to ensure my guests had everything they needed at the exact time they needed it. His waitstaff were efficient and professional. His bartender won over our friends with his awesome sense of humor. At the end of the night, they packed up a box full of leftovers that we took to our Airbnb, and we finally got to eat our amazing dinner. Those leftovers lasted us another week after the wedding, and I was so sad to eat the last bit, knowing we'd never get to eat our wedding food again. I have nothing but great things to say about Fitzgerald's! We used them for our rescheduled Covid wedding. We ended up having our reception in our back yard and the staff went WAY above and beyond to accommodate all of our wants and needs. Many of our guest raved about how good the food was! Fitzgerald Catering was recommended to my wife and I by friends who had used Nicholas and company for their own wedding. We could not have been happier with the result. First of all, Nicholas was extremely responsive, which is crucial when planning a wedding. He would respond to all emails within a few hours and would always pick up his phone. Along the same lines, he is happy to schedule a free tasting with you in his Bridgeport office. Secondly, this guy knows how to cook. Like, he really knows his stuff. Nicholas was totally cool (and actually really excited) about the eclectic foods that we chose for our dinner buffet, which included brisket, General Tso's Chicken, mac & cheese, and tomato bisque. I also asked for a few custom-order appetizers that were not on his menu, and he happily obliged. Everything was extremely fresh and totally blew my guests and I out of the water. People are still talking about how it was the best wedding food they ever had. Third, Nicholas goes above and beyond the normal call of duty for a caterer. He will bend over backwards to make sure that all of the decorations are set up exactly like you want them, that the desserts and drinks are where they need to be, and that the day flows as smoothly as possible. And, because they own all their own china, glassware and linens - we didn't have to worry about renting all the stuff ourselves. Fitzgerald's catered our wedding at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven and it was hands down some of the the best catering we've ever had! From the moment we met Nick and tried the food we knew it was going to be awesome. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. What a relief because I think I was a pretty hands off bride - we didn't taste anything in advance and weren't very particular. I had a few substitutions to account for the kids in attendance, but everything we discussed was no problem and absolutely everything at the event was delicious and mouthwatering in presentation. You get the feeling from Nicholas that he has everything under control. And in fact, he does - because Fitzgerald's can include everything in your package - china, glassware and linens, there really isn't anything to worry about. We used Fitzgerald's for our September 2018 beach wedding. Nick was very prompt with responding to emails which really impressed us. Once we had our tasting my now husband wanted to book right away. Nicks food is amazing!! We actually had a hard time deciding on what we would serve since everything was soooo good. NIck and his staff were very detailed and helped us with any questions we had. The day of our wedding Darcy was professional, kind, and awesome! She really helped us with any last minutes issues that came up. Nick catered our family Seder for about 50 guests. Some of our family members can be a bit picky and they absolutely loved the food! Guests said that the brisket was some of the best they had ever had. Nick is such a pleasure to work with. Nick did our outdoor wedding at Groton Long Point in Connecticut last month and we are still eating leftovers! delicious food, we had the most amazing bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp cocktail, steak, yummy asparagus and lots of others! From the moment we contacted Nicholas at Fitzgerald's it was an extremely positive experience. He went out of his way to fit a tasting into his schedule and he was as friendly and professional as one could ever hope for. He visited our venue and gave us great ideas for a menu and worked within our budget. Our wedding was on December 8th, 2018 and our guests are still talking about the food. The service was impeccable as the staff was diligently working and also very professional, you didn't even realize they were there most of the time. They made sure we (bride & groom) had appetizers and food and paid extra attention to all the details. The bartender was very friendly and I heard from many of my guests that he was very nice and fun. I appreciated that Fitzgerald's is all-inclusive (by being able to supply table cloths to dishes) and handled so many of the details, I really wasn't worried a bit.
