I recently obtained a new puppy from a breeder, but unfortunately is ill. Dr Calle and nurse Sabrina took excellent care and all safety precautions to keep from contaminating any other areas wearing protective gear and having a room ready upon calling from parking lot if we could enter as we were aware of one of the highly contagious illnesses she has. Nurse Sierra has been wonderful too following up to check on us! After thorough examinations and many conversations, ensuring I understood everything, I was very impressed as I always have been! I love that they accept true companion, which pays direct if you have that insurance. They gave me a puppy goodie bag loaded with all kinds of stuff more than I've ever been given before. They are assisting me very well, keeping very detailed notes and providing me whatever I need. Offering advice whenever I call as we get through healing the puppy. My only caveat is prices are outrageous when it comes to spaying. I asked for a quote on a 65 pound one year-old golden doodle and with blood work and they are asking for $1600 and that is not even laparoscopy spraying, which they no longer do as I was told nobody has the training for it. That's quite disappointing as that's a ridiculous price. Most insurance companies will only give you back $250 and some only give you $100 and some don't even cover it at all. Sadly , I will not be proceeding with spaying here like I used to and we'll have to find a different hospital that is cheaper. I've already called around and found another for half the price. I did enjoy also that I didn't have to go to reception to pay. They quickly texted me a link while I was in the room with the doctor and I was able to pay right there off my phone. I still highly recommend this hospital and it is still my first choice.

My dog was suffering with what we thought was an ear infection. Renee, at the front desk was excellent. She realized how concerned I was, and in major need of a veterinarian. She was able to give us an appointment right away. Zeus, my Belgian Malinios can be very skittish and scared. Everyone was wonderful with him. He especially loved Samantha, one of the assistance and he was very comfortable with the veterinarian. He let them take him in the back with no problem, he was such a good boy !! Needless to say we have found our new Vet and we are so happy. Zeus had a double ear infection, and one of his ears was really bad. It's been almost a week and he's doing so much better! Great Animal Hospital! TY

Nutley animal vet had the pre dental procedures done on my dog and said she did well. I was charged $500. Then they canceled my dogs dental procedure because they said her symptoms plus her age. I took her to Clark animal hospital for 2nd opinion. The vet at Clark gave my dog antibiotics, anti inflammatory med and a medicated mouth wash. My dog today is 100% better and doesn't have a tumor or cancer like Nutley animal vet assumed. My dog will have her dental procedure next week. Nutley never once offered my dog any medication or treatment....they said my dog was too old to take care of. Nutley animal hospital said my dogs lymph nodes were swollen but it was her salivary ducts that were swollen due to her dental issues. Horrible vet care and didn't care about my dog at all!!

Although I am a physician I am not familiar with this procedure in canines, but apparently open incisions are used to cut into the bladder for stone removal. My. Baby girl was discharged in howling pain, which was traumatic for my sister who had retrieved her. She had to return her to demand appropriate pain management for the dog as she was only given gabapentin and Rimadyl (doggie Advil). Even women who have cesarean sections are given strong analgesia for at least 3 days postoperatively. My baby suffered for days. I called the office the following day to get information regarding her diet going forward, as bladder stones can definitely recur. Not only was I not given any information, but I was merely switched to another person who just asked for my financials to make payment for the "extra (much needed) meds." I was given a generic receipt, so my insurance denied the payment, and I was NEVER given the invoice for the surgery, which was almost 3k and paid in full up front. I sent an email requesting the invoice, and to date they refused to respond, so I will not be able to submit for the reimbursement. When my son called the office he was told that they "didn't know" about the insurance- even though it is on file. Although they claim they will submit, I don't have much faith that they will. Further, why was this not handled from the beginning before they tortured my baby? If a human patient is treated this way there are patient advocates & lawyers promptly involved. I guess things are different in Veterinary Medicine.... But animals deserve compassionate care, too. Some people love their pets more than their spouses. In addition, pet parents should be counseled regarding the operative course, what to expect, and how to manage their pets post-operatively at home. My family, and especially my dog, were traumatized by this experience. This vet got good reviews on Yelp for some reason; maybe they are acceptable for routine well care visits and minor illnesses. But if you have a pet with serious illness or require invasive or surgical intervention I encourage you to seek another Veterinary practice.

But the care my dog receives here is top notch. The vets and vet techs have true compassion, the front desk staff is friendly, and I have not had one issue since coming here. I do believe the front desk submits insurance claims for the animal if you carry a policy, but I have always submitted on my own.

From day one, Erica welcomed me with open arms. She believed in me, encouraged me, and was always willing to share her knowledge. Through her academy, I completed a 500-hour grooming course that became the foundation of everything I know today. Erica taught me far more than just grooming techniques. She taught me about dog breeds, coat types, breed-specific haircuts, proper hygiene procedures, skin and coat care, hydration treatments, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and even how to safely perform anal gland expression. Every lesson was taught with incredible patience, attention to detail, and genuine care. What truly sets Erica apart is the way she teaches people to understand animals. She taught me how to read a dog's body language, recognize their fears and anxieties, help them feel safe, and handle them with kindness, respect, and compassion. She always emphasized that grooming is not just about appearance--it's about building trust and creating a positive experience for each pet. Today, I am a professional groomer and proud owner of my own business, and I can honestly say that none of this would have been possible without Erica's guidance, mentorship, and constant encouragement. She helped me discover my passion and my purpose in life. Working with animals is something I truly love, and I am forever grateful that she played such an important role in that journey. In all my years working in this industry, I have never met anyone who cares for animals the way Erika does. Her dedication, knowledge, patience, and love for every pet she works with are truly exceptional. She is not only an amazing professional but also an incredible mentor and human being. Thank you, Erica , for believing in me, teaching me, and inspiring me to become the groomer and business owner I am today. I will always be grateful for everything you have done for me and for so many animals. Highly recommended!
