Has walk in hours most days. No frills but he doesn't rip you off like the Rutherford VCA vet does

It's filthy! The room had corroded instruments and random vials of open medicines and syringes strewn everywhere. The Vet took a vial out of his dirty pants pocket and sedated my cat by stabbing her with the needle. No tenderness. No care. When he finally came back after 20 minutes he had me, me! hand him the bottle to my left with the syringe hanging out of it to euthanize my cat! He made sure she was gone said something like sorry and walked out. So that's exactly what I did. I gently placed my 18yo kitty in my bag and walked out to the reception to pay. They did not honor the price I was quoted. I lost my mind and walked out with my dead cat. Sue me! I've reported them so far to LPD. Animal Welfare and anyone else I can think of. read more

Lyndhurst Animal Hospital - Dr. Mecheal I was looking for a vet for my dog, and a friend recommended this place. She mentioned some pros and cons: the pros were that the prices are cheaper than other vets, and the cons were that the place isn't clean at all, and that Dr. Mecheal is not friendly and often in a bad mood. Despite my doubts, I decided to check it out, and that was the beginning of a nightmare experience. My dog has a thyroid condition and takes medication daily. I called the day before our visit to ask what time I should bring her in for blood work. The assistant instructed me to bring her in early the morning, fasting and without medication. When I arrived and saw the doctor, he said I needed to bring her in four hours after her medication instead. I explained that I had called the day before to confirm the time, and he immediately became upset and started yelling at me: "Don't you understand? Bring her in the afternoon! I'm very busy--don't waste my time!" I told him he was being unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude. This only made him angrier, and he continued to yell at me loudly in front of others. I warned him that if he didn't stop, I would call the police. He still kept yelling until he saw me actually making the call--then his tone suddenly changed, and he told me not to call them. When the police arrived, I explained my terrible and frightening experience. Another officer went inside to speak with the vet. They advised me to find another animal hospital and explained that they could only file a report since there had been no physical contact. That was the end of a truly traumatic, disturbing, and upsetting experience at this repulsive place. I learned a hard lesson: it's never worth taking your beloved pets to a cheap and dirty clinic. My pets they get examined fully he cuts their nails he is reasonable in charging better than any other place we have gone. We have a cat know needed to be seen right away it was Saturday I called they said bring him in before 2:00 I waited 45 min he was examined he got his shots and bloodwork we where on our way. My first time here and I've literally been waiting out in my car for OVER two hours and 40 minutes waiting to be called to go inside. I don't know why they even bother making appointments. Or they could at least have the courtesy to give you a heads up, saying that it's going to be a while. They work with rescues and help many low income pet owners. This is first come first serve unless it is an emergency. You must get in early and prepare to wait. We rescuers use this vet to cut down on costs and because he is open 7 days a week. This is incredibly helpful. If you expect quick service and high end facilities go somewhere else. This isn't your vet. Go to the vet that is run by venture capitals and charges $$$$. If they don't deliver give them a bad yelp review! Understand that this clinic is helping a lot of animals!!! Brought this handsome little man in to be neutered and everything went perfectly from start to finish. Healed up with no issues. The office isn't pretty. Dr Mecheal is such a caring animal lover. In our opinion, he goes above and beyond and does his best to help his patients. He has been our veterinarian since the 1990s. He's caring, informative and kind. I can't thank him enough for all he has done for our pets! I was there this morning to give my 15 year old dog an IV drip and to change my dog's diet to improve kidney and liver readings. The doctor, as usual, explained everything quite thoroughly to ensure we understand the how and why of the new treatment plan. Called Saturday to make an appointment for Sunday at noon. Went Sunday at noon and the place was closed, their mail box is also full so I couldn't call and leave a message. Since its Sunday a lot of other places are closes besides emergency hospitals which are crazy expensive. They didn't even put a reason why they were closed all they did was just write on a piece of paper "Closed Today" with no further explanation or apology. Place looks like a shit hole and that's the exact experience I got here - shitty. It was initially very hard to get in touch with them, finally got an appointment, the parking situation is not existent. I had my cat there and blood drawn and was told to call next day, after being kept on a endless hold I kept flip flopping my phones and eventually she gave me the time of day to tell me that I had to come in, I was told to bring him back in to make a few decisions. I was told I either can give him fluids a few times a week and he would never have the chance to be neutered. Because he'd never get better or I could humanely euthanize him. After a long time of thinking I had decided to go with euthanizing him and the vet asked if that was sure I wanted to do and as soon as I said yes he opened the kennel very roughly took my cat's paw stabbed him right in the arm and shoved him back in the box, and I was asking the vet can I please hold him can I please hold him and I was ignored, the vet just kind of stabbed my cat in the arm with the first shot and pretty much just left me there but even after being ignored by him I pulled the cat out and I held him to spend my last moments with him and eventually he came back and we proceeded to do the heart stopping shot, to this day I have not received my ashes that I paid like $300 for an individual cremation read more

I am.. overall, disgusted. This place is so horrific, it's so ghetto and disgusting. I just don't know where to start. For one, when I came in, I waited an hour to two, not too bad. There were a couple of dogs that needed immediate attention & care. The nurses were nice tho. Secondly, when we entered the room there was medications, Vaseline, and syringes ALL over. My vet would of charged me over 1k for what he charges $300, he does this not for the money, as you will see the place nor himself are at all "luxurious " he's just a good humble person. Based on my experience this place was good. My cat needed to be neutered, but after visiting 4 vets they noticed one of his testicles was in his abdomen. This skyrocketed the price in all Vets I went to. Some places were charging us $1500 and the lowest I could find was $700. This doctor did it for MUCH MUCH LESS than $700, and my cat 3 days after surgery was back to his energetic playful self. 2 weeks later he's fully healed and has no scarring, which in my opinion is the most important thing. My girlfriend recommended this place and after seeing the reviews I was skeptical. Right off the bat, yes, the office is a bit unorganized and they could do a better job making the patient rooms cleaner. However, I was respectful to the doctor and he was respectful to my cat and I. He was not rough with my cat, and was very patient because my cat is very skittish and shy. The doctor is a good guy and has pets of his own, so trust that he does care for your animals very very much. I'm giving this place a 5 star because the most important thing is that my cat is fully healthy after a complication that could've been threatening to his future health. He also behaves well with the doctor so that indicates he has some type of trust towards the doctor. And a nice bonus is that it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to get it fixed. I would give 0 stars if I could. I called to see if I can get my Bengal spayed and they said it was fine to bring her in for a check up. So that they can set a date to spay her. When i get there the doctor greeted my cat in a friendly matter, and all of the sudden had a switch of mood as if something had happened to him. He was very rude and nasty, and with no explanation he said that he will not attend my cat. We asked why and gave no explanation. I think there are much better reviews of this place on other sites and that's why I'd like to post mine bc I felt just like Lena did the first time I walked into the place. My bf was the one that suggested (bc of price and location) that we take our new puppy here. All I've had done are her shots at this place, so that's all I can speak for. I had a great experience with the staff and doctor. The girls there are super friendly, gave me good advice on what to feed my new puppy and offered her free veggie treats. The doctor is ALWAYS busy bc the man lives where he works and the hospital is open 24/7. So as I sat waiting I overheard a woman say how she came in at midnite bc her cat jumped out of a window and he attended to her and her kitten. With that said, I don't think you'll get that type of dedication or love from any Petco or pretty much any other doctor in the area. The doctor deeply cares about animals and no matter how angry the animal is or maybe even how tired the doctor is - he gets up and keeps it moving. I wish they would clean up the office and make it look a little nicer. But I think he's so swamped with work - that's the last thing on his mind. Don't Come here if you care for your animal and want the same care from your doctor.. Went in for a Redo on a Cushings test which is a series of 3 blood tests done 4 hours apart all in 1 day. The last time we did the test the doc couldn't read the test.. had to clarify with the lab multiple times for the results. so this time he tells me he only charge me a portion of the price well redo the test. so i came in and he has me muzzle my dog and then proceeds to poke him in the arm with a syringe and needle multiple times not drawing any blood. doesn't shave his arm just keeps moving it around pokes in a new spot pulls back gets nothing so I say doc I don't think you are in a vein.. immediately tells me it's because my dog is moving too much which he wasn't at all un till maybe the 5th or 6th poke then tells me to go somewhere els he wishes me the best of luck.. highly recommend not coming to this guy at all i believe he's too old out of practice and just doesn't care to bother anymore definitely will cut corners and blame you for any mistakes read more

I don't even know where to start the place smells like animal waste with dirty toe nails.My main problem with this place is that when we called in on Novembe 17,since my puppy had an ear infection and he also had to get his rabies vaccine and they said they were free on the 30 but the office woman said that the doctor was going to do surgery on a dog so to come at 4:00 pm/5:00 pm but when the day reached and we got there at the time she said we had to immediately leave since the lady said that he was still operating on the other dog so to come tomorrow I had no problem with that since you know it's only one doctor but from the room you could hear the dog he was operating on whining (I'm no vet but I'm very sure that the dog was supposed to be on Anastasia) so that was a red flag since I saw that pretty unprofessional . The next day came and we called before going to that place since we don't wanna go to a place just to get returned back when we called in they said that they were full even tho we got an appointment for that place.Never again we are going to take our puppy to that ghetto ass place. read more

My in-laws used this vet. The place is disgusting my cat she kept grabbing the table she wanted to leave it as much as I wanted to leave. First time took her here they took blood and either the office or the one to pick it up dropped the blood vital on the ground so had to bring her back. Thought that be the last time? NOPE Next time they did the same test twice so had to take her back for a THIRD time. Waited in the car for over an hour in the cold weather. I can personally thank this terrible vet for not taking a blood test when she had blood come out of her mouth or nose I'm sure that's when her cancer started. Brought my cat in for vaccines today. You can not beat the price. Also he asked if i wanted a full check up and informed me that it would cost more money and I declined. The vet is not looking to get every penny from you. This is not a fancy place at all. It is completely outdated. I guess this is why his prices are a lot cheaper than most. This place is TRASH... but you get what you pay for. The receptionist is unprofessional, and rude = TRASH. Dr. Mechael is unprofessional. I had my cat spayed here and had to return 2 weeks to have her stitches removed. I called to schedule and they gave me a 9am appt. for today (they actually gave me a choice of 9 or 930, not that it would make a difference). They don't allow more than a few patients in the office because of Covid (understandable), but I was literally waiting for an hour and 40 mins. before I left. The receptionist calls at 10:55am and asks if I'm still outside with my cat, I said no, I was waiting almost 2 hours - she says okay and hangs up on me. Ummm hello, I need to OBVIOUSLY reschedule because she needs her stitches removed. I call right back, she picks up and says, "HOLD ON". She leaves me on hold for 9 minutes and 47 secs... clearly she has to pickup or hang up since I am tying up there lines. She asks me when do I want to come back in? You tell me, since appts clearly done matter. She tells me tomorrow at 9am. I asked if 9 means 11am? She replies, yes if people get their before me. Gave me the wrong medication for UT infection. Gave me a $10 bottle of Betagen. Cursed me out over the phone because he forgot to charge me for $24 urine test (which I offered to pay for; gave me "results" a week later only after hounding him. Very rude and dirty. Doesn't wash his hands and shares the pet clinical space without sanitizing or wearing gloves. Do come here if you want to be told to "shut up" talked over and called a liar. I went in person and his demeanor changed, his chins weren't slapping together to tell me to shut up. His eyes couldn't fix themselves on me. Very confident over the phone but in person it's a different story. I paid for the $24 test, being nice, I could've let him foot the bill. There's so much more to this review that doesn't cover nor capture the "magnificent" doctor. I will be reporting this office for its hygienic practices, I don't think they're up to state standards.
