Instead of being offered a wait time or appointment, I was simply told "we don't have time." That's not just inconvenient, it's rude and dismissive. Brian was my nail technician. He offered me a complimentary drink so I chose champagne. But I couldn't even drink it because my hands were being worked on or had to soak them in water. I chose a gel french manicure and when he showed me I wanted a more broader French tip. I wasn't asked for my base coat color. He told me the base is pink. It was a little too pink for my liking but again I wasn't asked. He did my nails pretty quickly. I was done before 12:40 pm. I have gotten my nails done many times in other salons, there was something off with this salon. Maybe its the language barrier, usually I like to talk to my technician while I get my nails done. It came time to pay and it was $45 even after the 10% if I paid in cash and $50 if I paid by card so of course I paid in cash. I don't think I would go back here, it felt very factory oriented and not personal.

I usually get dip powder for my manicure, but I decided to try the builder gel manicure for the first time. With acrylic nail extensions, the manicure was $70. It was $5 extra to get either the coffin or almond shape. The cat eye nail polish is an extra $15 as well. I also got a classic gel pedicure for $50. My salonist, Bee, finished my pedicure and did a great job in 30 minutes. The builder gel manicure did take about 2 hours and I was there past their closing time. Other than that, Bee did a great job on my mani-pedi. She was really patient and kind. She kept checking in to make sure I was content with the quality of her services. The overall vibe of the salon was clean and welcoming. There is street parking available out front as well. Despite the time it took to get my manicure done, I was content with the results and the service.

In the future, I would advise this salon to be honest with customers who are asking for regular mani or regular pedi. If you have no regular polish, please just say "we only have gel here, sorry!" More details: We asked for regular pedicures and repeated it multiple times when they brought out what looks like the typical DND shellac two-pack with a color and a clear coat. We were confused, but they would not admit that it was a gel polish, so there were 2 problems: 1) they brought us the sample nails to pick a color, but the colors always looked very different on the nail. Of course they were never going to be cured under UV, so the color was different and more opaque. We had to keep changing our polish color through trial and error. (No guidance or assistance from the tech, by the way. It helps if the staff is familiar with the products they have. Imagine if they had true regular polish AND swatched that polish so we could select accordingly! A genius concept LOL ) 2) We waited well over an hour (no one checked on us or our nails during this time) after the polish application... and the polish never dried properly like a traditional regular polish would have. It kept smudging even after they "checked" that mine were dry. My cousin had it worse. They had to wipe her polish off (after we waited all this time!) And just re-applied once more. Complete waste of time. Regular polish is designed to air dry! We had to ask for fans multiple times, and even asked them to just consider curing the nails under the light so we could go home, but they just looked at us in confusion and re-painted the nails that would never dry and kept getting smudged. We went home and used a UV lamp we had to see if the nails would cure, confirming once and for all that it was gel polish that they used... guess what! They did! next time I am trusting my instincts. Oh, an additional issue was that I asked for a 3 pm appointment the day before and confirmed it over the phone. When I arrived at 2:50, I was told the appointment is actually at 3:30 and to come back. Clerical error on their part and they didn't admit it, so not a great first impression.

Susie does what works for ME; whether I want something tame (which is rare) or I want something off the wall - she delivers. Not only that, when I leave the salon I know I'm not going to have designs that look like everyone else's. To rebut the other reviews; I've not personally experienced nor witnessed rude behavior or negative energy from any of the technicians. However, I will say as customers we shouldn't expect a tech to drop everything she's doing to answer your questions with immediacy; specifically when the technician has a customer in her chair. My time is mine and yours is yours. Additionally, I've never waited beyond a few minutes pass my appointment time nor has my service taken hours on end. I came in and no one was at the desk. The greeting was not friendly nor welcoming. I informed the women to my right that I had a 4 pm appointment. I was just asked who am I here to see. It's my first time and I don't know nor was I told to ask for someone when I set my appointment. There was exchange between her and another staff about who I was going to see. Then I was told they will be with me. I wasn't even offered a seat. I was then brought over so I could get my pedicure. Customer service is pivotal to the success of any business especially when I can spend the same money and have pleasant experience. Thankfully my manicurist was pleasant and salvaged my visit but the beginning was almost enough for me not to return. I just staff will always be mindful that word of mouth and that first impressions are long lasting and can undermine the success of any business. At the end I rate my experience as just okay.

Came in and asked for the deluxe pedicure with gel polish. Gel polish looks fine. Whatever. The pedicure itself was not worth the nearly $70 (not including the tip!) I was charged. She scrubbed the fuck out of my one leg and hardly scrubbed the other. All she did was slather my legs in a thick layer of lotion and barely rubbed it in. Then she asked if I wanted my toenails clipped. Duh? Of course I want them cut; they were long! I tell her yes. She clarifies. "Do you want me to cut them all the way down?" Yes. Please. I get home and feel pain in my toes. I look. She barely cut any of my nails off, and most she left most of my toes with sharp edges that were digging into my skin! I'm diabetic. I physically cannot afford to get foot injuries. So i had to cut my nails myself. Now everything looks like shit but at least I'm not in the running for multiple ingrown toes or in pain. These nail places rarely ever take accountability for their shortcomings and mistakes. Fuck this place.
