After reading some of the previous reviews, I was a bit nervous. Now that I completed my stay, I am left wondering if we actually were reviewing the same hotel. I stayed for a week in a King suite and was impressed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room clean and the kitchen perfect for my needs. Each day, the room was made up, garbages emptied and used towels, etc. removed and replaced. If you are in need of a hotel in the Thornhill area, I strongly urge you to stay here. read more

Very disconcerting & insecure payments processing here. I booked with a third party & paid in advance. I expected to provide a card for incidentals as a pre-authorization charge, which was processed with a card reader. But they also manually input card details into the computer a second time to "register" the card (???). I've stayed in hundreds of hotels & never experienced this. If you have to stay here, I recommend using a card you don't "love-love". Elevators use touch screens & were fast. The room is visibly worn-down: Rusting shower head & curtain rod; Cracked barstool leather; Dented bathroom door; smoke detector wiring exposed. Low quality bath products-- don't bother with these. Showering was a NO-GO, but the bathtub was wide, deep, and clean. The toilet wasn't sturdy & the toilet ran constantly after flushing (buttons). The mattress was only a queen but still plenty of room to stretch out, work, & get a restful sleep. I enjoyed the puffy duvet, soft pillows, and clean linens. USB outlets in the night table lamps. Suede headboard. The bed frame corners are too sharp for the short walk space, so be careful. Ample cabinet space & stainless steal appliances. There is also a dishwasher in the room, but you're on your own for cookware & dining ware. Not really primed for a staycation (or microwave meals & food deliveries). Wonderful view across Ontario from the balcony. The balcony floor & windows are in need of an update, polish, & detailing. DoorDash friendly for food deliveries, but UberEats has a better selection here for those with food allergies. Surprisingly performant free Wi-Fi for working & video calls. Cell reception was consistently 1-2 bars from the 14th floor. Thin walls all around so bring your noise-cancelling headphones. Not a 4* experience, but I was comfortable. Stayed at Liberty Suites for 3 nights in June 2022. Overall, this hotel is a very good choice if you're looking for something relatively affordable, clean, spacious, and not close to the hustle and bustle of downtown. The hotel is located in a primarily residential/industrial area, so there aren't many attractions or points of interest anywhere nearby. Still close to some restaurants, shops, and more so that was nice to have access too. The building itself doubles as an office tower, so parking is in a huge underground garage, and can be pretty confusing to navigate. You'll also be competing (at least during business hours) with office workers for spaces as well as on the elevators, which were hit or miss in terms of wait time and efficiency. Just be patient and prepare accordingly! We booked a one bedroom suite which I have to say, was very nice. It was great to have a large kitchen, table, separate sitting area, private bedroom, and a spacious bathroom that all appeared clean and up to date. Lots of room to spread out, store luggage, etc. which is always a plus. The city views were great from the 19th floor as well. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby, which is on the 12th floor of the building, also doubles as a café where they serve a free breakfast each morning. We didn't eat much from here but it was convenient to grab a muffin and some juice/coffee on our way out for the day. We didn't take advantage of other amenities, which I don't recall being too plentiful, but I know they have a fitness room which we peeked into (only allows for 3 people to be in there at one time - FYI). Everything considered, I would recommend this hotel and can see myself staying here again eventually, if I ever come back to the Toronto area. It's not the fanciest place or in a premier location, but it certainly checks a lot of boxes most travelers would look for. read more

Solid hotel, especially if you don't mind staying a little further away from downtown. Free parking, free wifi and free breakfast for around $100 USD a night (via Hotwire) seems like a good deal. If you plan on hanging around downtown, then the location may be less than ideal. It's about a 5 minute drive to the nearest TTC subway station (Yonge & FInch) and a good 30 minute drive from the downtown core. However if you're just visiting family/friends in the suburbs than this is a good option. There are tons of good Persian and Korean restaurants close by and even a grocery store in the building. The rooms are basic, but clean and modern with a kitchenette, balcony and plentiful closet space. Not the friendliest service (breakfast and check-in staff), but at least our room was cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner. My girlfriend forgot her toothbrush and unfortunately the hotel "did not receive [their] shipment." Also the parking and elevators can be confusing at first. Despite of these minor inconveniences, I would still return. I think Liberty Suites offers a comfortable and economical lodging option in the GTA. read more

Awesome hotel especially after using my reward points from Expedia, this suite was super clean and roomy. Like every one else's review.....the kitchen has absolutely nothing in the cabinets. Check in lobby is on 12th floor. Free garage parking so follow the parking sign for the hotel designated parking area and remember your car plate so you don't have to go up and down to look for it when checking in. Breakfast could be better but for the price, breakfast is just a bonus so it can be bad or good lol The front desk ladies were extremely helpful and friendly. My husband and I stayed here for 10 days and it was so memorable. It was my husbands first time in Toronto and we found this hotel online. Booking our room was easy and the rooms available were great! We booked the "one bedroom" room with a living area+TV and washer dryer +a full kitchen. This type of room was perfect for our long stay. The hotel was extremely beautiful and so modern looking. It is honestly the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Clean. Clean and did I mention it is clean? Our hotel room was spotless- which is very important to me. I was so happy by the cleanliness of our room that I was so incredibly comfortable the whole time. The hotel is a high rise so we had the most incredible view of the city- it was amazing. The hotel served a hot breakfast buffet to their guest. Eggs, toast, sausage, fresh fruit, juice, hot tea & coffee, etc. they served it in their check in lobby which overlooked the beautiful city- great views all around. The hotel was very central- Centerpoint mall was walking distance- we were close to so many delicious restaurants. Also we were not very far from the subway station (which was a great way to get downtown Toronto). We are so thankful to the staff because they were very accommodating and customer service was excellent!! The washer/dryer came in very handy- with all of the traveling all over the city and to Niagara Falls, we definitely used it! So very happy with this hotel and I would definitely recommend it!!! read more

I have stayed here several times now, simply because the location is great! The rooms are very nice and with a modern feel to them, they are comfortable and relaxing like a hotel room should be. I do believe I will be staying here may more times. The rooms are very modern in design and feel with all the modern accessories; like the laps near the bed you can connect your phone with the electrical outlet or the USB outlet, and there is a Krieg coffee maker. Plus the bed are super comfortable, they have your typical white sheets, soft pillows, which gives you a great sleep. Now the building it self does not offer any amenities like a pool or a gym, but I guess you can always fill up your bath tub or work out on the stairs up and down 50 time :) Lastly the breakfast has certainly improved from the first time I stayed here, it has turn form a continental to a buffet style. Very tasty and filling. I recommend this hotel to any travel for any reason. read more

Summary of the review: overall it's a nice hotel and has good potential. It's just very new and unsettled. Good things: free parking, free breakfast, free wifi, full kitchen (with oven), modern faucets, nice plates and cups (nothing fancy, just nice), big refrigerator, nice view from high level floors Opportunities: service does not meet hospitality standards, kitchen does not have basic things like towels/pans/dishwasher soap/..., there was no work area (in my suite = studio) Experience: we arrived there shortly past noon - nice underground parking, interesting elevators. The lobby is on 12th floor. When asked if we can check-in earlier, we got a cold "NO" with an explanation that check-in is at 3pm. I knew that! and that was not my question! The other hotels usually do not care to let customers to check in earlier unless a specific room type is not ready, but here she didn't even bother to check. Luckily, it was lunch time, so we spent couple of hours on lunch and shopping. Check in at 3pm was fast and smooth. We got everything that we needed. Around 7pm I called the front desk. Waited at least 3 min until someone answered. Usually, help desks at other hotels answer immediately and then ask you to stay on hold if they are extremely busy ;/. I gave 3 stars, just because the hotel has potential. Otherwise, it would be 2 stars maximum. I hope all of these small and irritating things will be resolved with time and it's going to be a nice place to stay. read more

Water pressure in shower was pretty good. Housekeeping was hospitable. CONS: we were unable to cook since they charge for rental of pots/pans. Free breakfast must be eaten in breakfast area, no food allowed in room. Towels are counted so make sure you don't lose any or accidentally take one or some home or you will get an invoice. I know because there's a sign on the corner of the bathroom mirror. Don't try to get coffee in the lobby, it's not free. You need your credit card in order to get coffee lol. This place is gonna nickel and dime you LMAO. Whoever runs this place is a very FRUGAL person. Please give your customers the OPTION to rent pots/pans for FREE and then take the money out of their deposits if they break them or come up missing instead of charging them additional to rent lol. read more

Important: This is essentially an "extended stay" hotel. We had the "two room suite" which is really just a bed in the living area. The kitchen has no utensils, serving ware, or pots / pans. If you need the hotel to supply ANY kitchen bits, there are up charges except for coffee cups. The north side rooms overlook a trunk line for CN Rail so expect noise all night. The beds are comfortable, the bath is clean and has plenty of towels etc, and housekeeping do a good job. Breakfast is included every day and is sufficient for getting going in the AM. Really really nice and fantastic for the price. The location is not prime, of course, but it's a great hotel with a nice kitchenette in all the rooms with brand new appliances. The staff was very friendly and the halls are actually quite quiet with the exception of one 5 minute bout of rowdy kids in the hall around 10 PM. But considering the hotel was full that was the only noise heard in the hotel throughout my stay. The tv is a bit slow, but it's a great room to cook a nice meal for yourself with foods bought from the market in the same complex. read more

Well..... Other reviewers were completely right about this hotel. Nice rooms but always some shortcomings. 1. The hotel room needs to have a desk even if it has a kitchen (sorta) 2. If there is a kitchen one one assume that you need some utensils and dishes irrespective of the situation. 3. Breakfast doesn't stop at 9:30 am. I don't if this is because there is an intent to for the guests to avail themselves of the mall services but meetings may not start at 9 am sharp. Overall I think it's an OK place for a hotel even though I think it was intended more as a short term stay for business people. read more

Accidentally booked a reservation on the wrong day. (The day of instead of a couple days after) On the hopper app. Realized it right away so i talked to hopper to ask for a refund. Hopper said it Should be no problem for a refund but it's up to the hotel. Hopper tries calling the hotel several times but can't get ahold of anyone at front desk til the next morning. So I wait all night for a verdict for my refund and to my surprise the hotel just refused to refund me. Barely giving me an explanation, front desk was not helpful at all they literally hung up on me mid sentence. What a cheap and greedy hotel. Wasn't a inconvenience at all for the hotel to refund me but no they wanna keep my money for a room I didn't/couldn't even stay in! Just down right greedy. Your welcome for my $250 donation for a room I didn't even use. I'm already tight on money so this was devastating for me but it is what it is. Some people just aren't good people like that. Don't know why anyone would stay there on a long term basis unless you bring your own pots and pans, plates, glasses, and utensils. Nice kitchen to look at. Get your credit card out also when you get there, after you have already been charged for your room. I was charged $200 upfront in case I smoked pot in the room. . No extra charge for toilet paper or using towels. Have stayed in similar types before. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Luckily, there are excellent restaurants nearby. read more

Also, you get free wifi, parking and breakfast with your stay! However 4 stars, only because the parking area to the lobby can be a drag.. Especially if your bringing a lot of items. Also, if you need something (i.e. toothbrush/toothpaste, plates, etc.) you need to go all the way down to the lobby to get those items. read more

An excellent value in Toronto! High end feel without the high end price. Every room is a suite. The pros- super clean and affordable rooms/suites. Friendly staff. Comortable bed with plenty of pilllows. Far enough away from the downtown insanity but close enough to get there when you want to. Abundant free parking. Free breakfast with both hot and cold options. Cons- parking is free but the garage can be difficult to navigate. You must park on level P2. Breakfast is good but limited (it's free so i didn't have any real issue, just passing along info). No on site laundry though they do offer a service for a fee which I didn't try. Important to note that the check in and reception area is on the 12th floor. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend that you do as well. My husband and I stayed here for a few days in July, and were happy with our experience. Our room was clean, spacious, and had nice views. We chose this hotel because it had free parking, and we didn't mind being on the outskirts of Toronto during this trip. If we had planned to spend time downtown, though, we would have looked for lodgings within the city. The complimentary buffet breakfast had a good amount of variety, with the typical continental offerings (baked goods, cereal, yogurt) as well as hot foods. The hotel is also within walking distance of a Chinese supermarket and a few other eateries, mostly Asian. The one downside to Liberty Suites is that although our suite had a kitchen, it was not fully equipped with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. You can rent these items for a fee, but in my experience, other hotels geared towards extended stay travelers like Residence Inn don't charge for kitchenware. Our stay was relatively short and we hadn't planned on cooking, but I did want to reheat leftovers from a restaurant meal we had, and had to make do with microwaving the leftovers in a ceramic coffee mug (one of the few things in the kitchen) and eating with a plastic fork we had swiped from somewhere else. I understand that the hotel is trying to prevent kitchenware from getting damaged or going missing, but they could at least put a few bowls or plates and some eating utensils, and charge guests if they need additional supplies. Or, better yet, stock the suite kitchens with supplies, and take money out of guests' deposits if things break or disappear. We'd stay here again if looking to stay on the fringes of Toronto again, but I'd consider bringing some bowls and utensils with us next time. read more

Stayed here a few times and it was great. The room is quite spacious especially just for two people. So it's definitely accommodating for families. The staff at the front desk are friendly. The views we had from our room were pretty nice. The only complaint I have is the TV's brightness is not the greatest. Even if you try adjusting it nothing works. And if you want to watch tv from your bed it's difficult to watch because of the distance. read more

Stayed here for almost 2 weeks. Service is mostly decent, although could be better. Location is great if you don't mind being north of the city. Although it's newly built and the decor is nice, you can tell the quality of work is not the best.. Overall good value if you are coming out of town and need a place around the area. The rating is actually 4.5 stars. The parking issue subtracts a 1/2 star for being really confusing. There is an attached parking garage that's difficult to locate the entrance to and confusing to navigate once inside. However the parking issue did not take away from the experience. The rooms are all suites that are large and clean. They all have amazing views of the city of Toronto although being on the 21st floor probably added to the ambiance. They all come with nice sized televisions and fully functional kitchens. The rooms are very minimalist and elegant. The staff was friendly. We only paid 89.00 per night which is a steal for such a nice place. Overall a great find and we will be back soon. read more

I agree with other reviewers this place could be nice, but there are a lot of problems. Pros: -The location is great -Golden Star Burgers is just across the road (so good!) -The price isn't bad - Free wifi Cons: - Multiple light bulbs were out/missing. The response at the front desk: Sorry. Maintenance is gone for the day. The next day when we got back we had to ask again for them to replace them. -Their website states that there are safes in ALL rooms, but there wasn't one in the room. The front desk said our room wasn't supposed have one. After showing them their own website, they said they needed to update the information. Uh, no. There was no sorry or anything. We got them to bring one, but it wasn't that secure because you could literally pick it up and take it off the shelf! - The kitchen is full size, but nothing is included so it's useless. They charge for utensils, etc and you have to let them know in advance. How would you know to ask? You would think they would include mugs or glasses at the very least - It's not very clean. The same smear of foundation makeup was on the bathroom door from the day we arrived until we left. The garbage also wasn't emptied every day. I would not recommend this hotel. If the amenities and lovely looking rooms on their website actually reflected what you got then it would be a nice place to stay. read more

Horrible customer service and rude front desk staff. I've stayed here twice now and was planning on being a returning customer (my partner lives out of town) but my partner and I had a horrible experience the last time and will not be returning. I have red hair and my colour bleeds out when it's freshly done and gets wet. I had stained 1 of their towels when I was washing my hair but didn't think it'd be a problem because my hair dye always washes out. I work at a salon and the dye comes out with detergent and a bit of bleach. Even when I wash my towels at home with natural detergent, the colour still comes out. I've stayed in dozens of hotels in the city and have never been charged for a towel (even on extended stays and at luxury hotels where their towels are definitely worth more than the ones that they use at Liberty Suites). 30 minutes after checking out we receive a call saying that 1 of the towels were stained which they would be charging us for. We told them to try washing it and they said they already did (really, within 30 minutes??). We received another call later and it was now 4 towels and the bedsheets for $100. Spoke to the manager the next day and his customer service skills were laughable, guy does not know how to properly deal with situations or talk to clients (I've been working in customer service for 7 years now and have also been a manager). He was practically yelling on the phone and was very confrontational. I tried calmly explaining to him that I used only 1 towel for my hair and that my hair dye has always washed out for the last 4 years that I've had it coloured, but he responded that everything was stained and they threw everything out ?? Asked him what kind of sanitation methods are they using at their onsite laundry (most hotels use a 3rd party for laundry) that it can't wash out hair dye, told him to try bleach and he was just refusing to talk. He then said that he has people around him and won't be talking to me anymore and hung up. What a complete joke, I'm not one to ever complain and this is the first time I've ever asked to speak to a manager but this was ridiculous. Hotel is nice but I would not recommend it unless you want to get scammed and overcharged and receive horrible customer service. Tldr: they're penny pinching, have pathetic customer service managed by a man "Cosmos" who doesn't know how to talk to customers, and they have questionable sanitation. read more

The staff is great! Very cheerful and helpful, they want you to be comfortable. Had to stay here for a month for a company course. The suites are pretty big. I was comfortable and the beds were good. The most important thing, it was clean. Pillows could be better, felt like a piece of foam with a pillow case around it. First room I had, they moved me because house keeping missed something. Second room was ok, but the water temperature kept climbing in the shower. Yes they do charge for pots and pans, not sure why. I can understand an extra charge if you lost something but to rent. Hmm. I like to sleep with a window open, but they were closed and locked. They need to get the windows fixed. They have a gym, it was clean. They have a continental breakfast. After a month of eating the same thing they could change the menu and maybe put out pancakes or waffles. They had 4 types of egg omelettes, oatmeal, baked potatoes and some bread dumpling thing. Some muffins and bread and a table with some cut up cantaloupe, honey dew and sliced oranges or watermelon. They need to put out some berries or fruit cocktail. This hotel should have the option for a bar, especially with all the conferences they have going on, they are missing out huge on this. They have parking underground. Be sure to park on P2, you will get a ticket if you park on P1. The hotel is on the 12 floor, lower floors are businesses. There is food around the hotel (red lobster, sushi bong, a food court in the small mall and a burger place). There is an Asian supermarket with very fresh fruits and vegetables and a bakery section, they also have a buffet style of counter in the back with food if you don't have time to cook. If your looking for places to eat outside this, I suggest going down Steele's. There is also a good Vietnamese restaurant on Yonge half way up from Steele's. It's about a 20 minute walk to the metro station on Finch and Yonge and TTS Toronto Transit System only goes to Steeles and then walk 5 minutes from there. Remember Uber is your friend. I would stay here again for the space you get, the room being clean, the view and the great customer service and care from the front desk. Enjoy your stay here. read more

It provides a home feeling. Our room also had a full kitchen as well. Only wish they provided some plates and utensils to use! Came down one morning for the complimentary breakfast. Lots of people and didn't have much food. They have underground garage which is very nice. The are located right next to an asian supermarket and a mall, which is very convenient. The location of the hotel is very good as well. Will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Toronto. read more

I hate giving bad reviews and only do it when I feel the people have a right to know certain facts before spending their money. Unfortunately, this is one of those cases. The hotel building is nice. The management, not so good!!! They micromanage everything but not in a good way. For example: - They have removed the handles from all the windows so windows can't be opened at all. When asked, they said, they won't give them because it is their policy. So if you like some fresh air, you are not in luck. - The huge kitchens have not so much as a plastic knife to cut an apple. There is just a sign that says if you want dishes, you have to pay. When I brought that up at the check out, the unapologetic response was that I could have asked for dishes and only pot and pans cost money. I told them that the note on the kitchen did not specify that, but the management's response was "You could have asked!" - The parking lot is a insane maze with few signs which sometimes point to the wrong directions. It took us 15 minutes to find where the hotel parking is at 2:00 a.m. Again, management's response was that there is nothing they can do about it. You get the picture. In addition, They made multiple mistakes in reservations and billing. They also charge 3% destination fee which they insisted everyone does, but I certainly have never paid before. When asked further, I was told that it included the free parking and the breakfast. Well, I don't think they should call it free then! As nice as the building was, I did not feel welcomed and was relieved when we moved to Hilton half way through our vacation. read more

It's a very nice hotel, well priced. The views are gorgeous, the breakfast has a wide variety of egg dishes, bread, fruit, three types of cereal. The parking is abundant, the mattress comfortable, the decor modern. I wish there were exhaust fans in the bathrooms and the beds didn't have those thick quilted covers on them. They are way too hot at night, and there are no other options, such as a lightweight blanket. You are paying for a good night's sleep but they disregard the needs of every woman over 55 y.o! That is really my only complaint: how am I supposed to get a good night's sleep when I'm waking up 5 or 6 times because I'm too hot? Provide a light blanket!!! It takes a few tries before you understand the heating and cooling system. To turn down the heat at night, you must press 'fan'. Not 'auto '. The Asian market next door is really cool. The adjacent little shopping mall is kind of sad: half the spaces are empty. But there are a number of little stalls serving quite good ethnic food: Korean, Indian, sushi, kabobs. The dried fruit and nut store is a work of art! It's a little far from public transportation to access the subway to downtown Toronto. But it is a nice hotel. read more
