My spouse and I built a summer house on the South Coast in 1997 and moved to there full time in 2012 when we retired. Until today, I have been a satisfied customer for over 16 years. Today I parked my car close to the building's front windows allowing enough space between the car's front end for someone to get by with a shopping cart. I did so to keep my dog in the shade as much as possible because it was 80 degrees. While I was redeeming bottles and cans, an employee came into the redemptioon area and asked who owned the car with the kayaks on top. When I acknowledged the car was mine, he told me I was parked on the sidewalk and had to move the car. I explained that I had parked close to the building to give my dog some shade. My explanation was listened to, but then I was told I had to move the car anyway. I told the person I spoke with, who I believe is a manager, that he needs training in being customer focused. I moved the car which put the dog in direct sunshine, made my last purchase there, and left. When I went to leave, I saw the employee was outside taking a smoke break. I then drove up to the employee and told him to take a close look at my face, because it was the last time he'd see me here. He apologized, said he had animals too. If he disregards customers concerns, I wonder how he treats his animals. read more
