Tiki Bar area was pretty cool looking. View of the piers and boats was equally impressive and gave a distinct feeling given the name of the establishment. Was a little frustrated by the bartender complaining about a restaurant she has the night prior for botching her order. Which brings me to the next lines. I ordered a BLT, white bread, and onion rings. Promptly, I was presented with a BLT, on wheat bread, and fries. "Oh how the turn tables..." immediately came to mind. I 100% would have sent it back but it was a quick in and out due to time constraints. I'll probably go again if I'm in Buzzards Bay, but we shall see. read more

They have no parking! Every time we try to go there, no parking! There is never any parking!

This restaurant is all about location, location, location. Ordered a lobster bisque that was very bland. Tasted more like tomato soup. Service was extremely slow. And if you like being attacked by fruit flies this is your place. Considering how awful the soup was and the fruit flies. I can't imagine they clean their draft lines either. I don't even live in the state of Massachusetts, in fact all the way across the country and when I am back home and Captain Al's is open for the season, it's a must visit spot for me. I discovered it when I was home unexpectedly in the Summer at my dad's and looking for a bar by the water. This definitely ticked that mark. I've made sure to come back whenever I am able! What a hidden gem. Parking here is an adventure- it's located in a marina- and folks park along the edges of the lot. The inside has maybe 4 tables and a small bar. Don't come here to eat inside. The outside had plenty of tables, many with umbrellas- a covered area with a large bar (this is where we sat). Surprisingly busy for 3:30 in the afternoon. He had the lobster rolls and I had the fish tacos. Both came out hot and good. Onion rings were very good. Drinks were on point. Bartender Josh was amazing. Wonderful views and cool vibe. Defiantly an older crowd which is our thing. They have entertainment so we will be back to check that out. read more

True Score: 3.5 Stars We have experienced this place several times while visiting Cape Cod. The outside dining is picturesque and the service is good. The food is better than most but could use some updating of the menu. Drinks are plentiful and the service and weekend entertainment is good. Outside are tables both regular height and some high stool/tables which we tried. It was a hot day and everyone tried to locate at a shady table. The menu was tensile with lots of seafood and other popular meals. As for the food, the onion rings were greasy. The Hawaiian chicken was a bit dry. The rice didn't seem like it was jasmine rice. The prices are a bit high too, but you pay for the scenery not for top notch food. Overall, this is fun place, more for regulars, but we'll be back if we are around Buzzard's Bay. Thanks read more

Spoiler alert: This place is NOT tiki by any means. They have (some) of the standard tiki drinks. That's all. The food was tasty. Seriously good food! Enjoyed my fish sandwich, it was perfect! My husband enjoyed his meal too a quesadilla! The drinks were good. Service was okay. I like the server to introduce themselves and check back without being waved down, but she was pleasant enough. The view is wonderful and very relaxing! Went to Captain Al's today to celebrate my wife's birthday. We where promptly seated and given menus. Then the wait began, we sat for over 25 minutes without a sever approaching us. I asked the busboy to send our server over and he apologized for the delay and went to get a server. Another 5 minutes passed, and I asked the hostess for a servlet. I have always loved Captain Al's. Today I wanted steamers so we asked for 2 lbs to share between 4 of us. it came out in one bowl and we were told it was all 2 lbs. Mind you it's $31.95/lb. The size of the bowl was that of 1lb. We questioned it but was told it was 2lbs. So we eat the sandiest clams I've ever had. That's not like Captain Al's. Also, we each got abour 6 clams each. So if you do the math, that's $10 a clam. That's outrageous. I asked to speak to someone and nobody ever came. And besides that, clams are no more than $10/lb in the store. To mark them up $20 more a lb is robbery. Very dissapoointed. read more

Went to Captain Al's for dinner on May 26th, 2024, where we met the rudest hostess we've ever encountered. She was young, with dark hair and glasses. We requested a table for 7. An hour later, she seated another group ahead of us. When we asked what was going on, the hostess told us we never asked for seating and after we said we did ask her for seating, proceeded to tell us that wasn't true. I've never experienced a restaurant employee be so rude to customers when it was clear to everyone in our party that she messed up. This went on for 15 minutes. The bottom line is the managers shouldn't have their staff telling their customers they are wrong over something their staff messed up. We went to Stonebridge Bar and Grill. The staff there were great. We spend our summers in Wareham and haven't been back to Captain Al's, thanks to that rude hostess. read more

The food is good, but nothing spectacular and this place is always packed so the service isn't the best, but I will say they do try and that's really you can ask for. Disappointed. Last year we would come specifically to get the "seahogs". They were filled with seafood, done perfectly and very tasty. Great service. Very attentive wait and bus staff. Mixed drinks are strong. I ordered the steak tips, 1/2 pound serving medium rare. I received 4 small tips with fries and veggies. Very underwhelming. The first piece it cut into could have been used by Kingsford as a charcoal briquette. The next two were the same. The last piece was actually medium rare. Kelsey the "manager" humiliated our waitress gabby who was very pleasant infront of entire the restaurant. Using vulgar language screaming at her from what I gathered "stealing a table". I then watched this "manager" sit a customers table talking loudly about this employee. I have never in my entire life ever heard of a manager speak to employees that way especially infront of all customers. I am truly disgusted and I hope that for the sake of the restaurant you hold her accountable and find a mentally mature adult to manage your staff because that is NO example of what a manger is. I used to have great experiences at Captain Al's, but the last few times we have been here have been disappointing. Abner and I arrived at around 11:45 on 7/6, and was curtly told by the hostess, they don't open until noon. I said to Abner "Wow, that was stern, almost a reprimand." We waited and customers started lining up. At noon, the surly hostess brought us to our table. We ordered strawberry daiquiris and was immediately disappointed at the first sip. A blob of slush with no flavor. We sent them back. Recalling my previous visit where I ordered a specialty drink and it was terrible, I switched to wine. We got the petite lobster rolls, but it was just okay. Has this place become touristy? I don't know, but I'm not in a rush to head back to Captain Al's. Our server was very nice, but please do something about your hostess! If she doesn't like people, she might be better suited as a data entry clerk. read more
