The flakey crust was chewy and not great. They would do better maybe making a graham cracker crust on it. I also got lemon bars which were good. And the star of the show was the coffee cake. I know a lot of people are complaint about the hours but I'm thinking they probably wouldn't do much business during the week in this area so I'm ok with them being a weekends only spot.

From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the place completely melted the cold away. We were greeted by a wonderful, incredibly kind waitress, and the atmosphere inside was just so cozy and comforting. There was a lovely mix of people having their supper, including a sweet family of seven eating dinner together at the table next to us. It just had that perfect, welcoming community feel. The menu was seriously impressive. My other half ordered the southern chicken sausage gravy dinner, and it was phenomenal! I got my blueberry pancakes- my absolute favorite - and they completely exceeded expectations. I also tried the lentil soup, which was packed with flavor. Honestly, I don't think you could have a bad meal here if you tried. Our waitress (the same lovely woman who greeted us) chatted with us for a bit and was just so delightful and attentive. I even spotted a rice pudding with strawberries and whipped cream on the dessert menu that looked right up my alley, but between my pancakes and stealing a few delicious bites of the chicken dinner, I was far too full this time around! As we left, I noticed the pretty flowers and the outdoor picnic tables. I'm sure this place absolutely hops on weekend mornings, but it was the perfect rainy evening escape for us. That is not the case here. The tea was your average tea that you would get at ShopRite. The tea breads were also from the bakery section of ShopRite and the cookies are from Pepperidge Farm. And the tea sandwiches are just two slices of wonder bread with a cream cheese mixture in the middle with the edges cut off and sliced into four pieces. Needless to say - nothing was homemade. We were so disappointed that we complained to the manager and left with out eating. I can honestly say I have never done that before.

Every blue moon we'll get some food to go, which almost always results in a deer-in-headlights look from whatever newbie is working that night. One or two times I was completely ignored for a few minutes while teenagers finished a conversation or picked their noses or whatever they were doing that wasn't their job. Aside from that though, it is what it is. A 24/7 quick stop for junk food, bites on the go, tobacco, and emergency items like windshield wiper fluid and rock salt.
