Our vegetarian opted for the build your own burger. Veggie burger on a pretzel bun w/ pallet jack, chipotle mayo, fries, frizzled onions and avocado. He loved it! My daughter and I split an order of pierogies and the amazing bacon onion marmalade burger. They even cut it up for us from the kitchen and put it on separate plates (love the attention to detail and service) My mother daughter truly enjoyed her pineapple jalapeños burger and was in heaven. Not too much heat but just the right amount of kick. Hubby is trying to be more health conscious so he opted for the Brie & Apple turkey burger. New to the area. After coming here for dinner a few times we realized this place is very special. Decided to use them to cater the bulk of the food for our son's college graduation last Saturday. Ordered Lemon Pepper Wings, Buffalo Wings, Chicken Fingers, Pulled Pork, Mac & Cheese, and Cole Slaw. Food was freaking phenomenal. Cow Patty's is a fun little burger joint right off the main drag in Wantage. And I say right off because as you pull in and out of the parking "lot," you're doing so onto NJ-23. Be prepared! Inside, we were met with a kind staff and a delicious lunch. The boomin bloomin onion was a favorite for our crew, with the typical blooming onion sauce you know and love from the steak chains. What differentiated it was the thin slicing of the onions, which made it easier to just keep dipping a little bit more. The only letdown of the meal, which was a relative letdown given how solid the burgers and onion were, was the fries. They didn't have flavor, even though I got mine with Cajun seasoning and my wife got hers with a beer cheese dip. They need to punch up the salt fresh out of the fryer to really let the other seasonings shine. We actually overheard another table say the same thing after we finished our fries, so I don't think it was just a fluke order. That said, if you're nitpicking over the sides at the burger and shake place, I'd say you're going to the wrong places! They struck up conversation with us, were appreciative of our business, and introduced us to how things work here. The decor is modern-rustic, clean, and comfortable. We didn't feel like we were in New Jersey, in a good way. I opted for the Jersey burger and my wife opted for the "build your own." Both of these massive angus burgers were incredible. They were flavorful, had a natural and authentic taste, and were loaded with toppings. My wife LOVED her milk shake. Fries were crispy, fresh, had a great taste, and were not greasy. Starting with the food, their pulled pork is AMAZING!!! Had it with the Mac n Cheese and didn't regret it for a second. The pulled pork sandwich was equally as good and the portion sizes were GREAT!!!! Easy 10/10 rating. The Shrimp Tempura was a solid 9/10, crispy and flavorful. We used to love this place and recommend it to many friends. We hadn't been here for about a year or so and decided to stop by today. The wings and mozzarella sticks were still as good as we remembered. The burger however was not. You used to be served these amazing looking "photo" worthy pics. For appetizers, we got the Bloomin Onion and Fried Pickles. The onion was greasy but ok and the pickles were great - crunchy on the outside, vinegary & juicy on the inside. For mains, I ordered the California Bacon Burger that came with a side of fries, small container of cole slaw and a pickle spear. We have driven past Cow Patty's since it opened. Finally stopped in the other day and was so glad that we did. We were greeted with a friendly staff and seated immediately. Our server was right there with menus and to take our drink orders. Everything is locally sourced and as fresh as fresh as I have ever tasted. The burgers were juicy but not at all greasy. I decided to do the "Build Your Own" burger. Fresh patty with a fried egg and American cheese on a pretzel bun. The egg was cooked to perfection and just enough yolk to flavor the fresh beef. Served with a side of perfectly seasoned and fried potatoes and a pickle wedge. I enjoyed it like no other burger I have had. Throughout the whole meal, the bread and integrity of the burger stayed in tact until the last bite. The vanilla shake was flavorful and just thick enough to be able to drink through the large straw. For the price they charge it's not worth it. $4.75 for cheese fries, $5.75 for the onion rings. My plain cheeseburger was $13.75 because I got a pretzel bun. I found the burger and bun very dry. They even forgot our shakes, we had to go back for them, and they both were no better than flavored/sweetened milk. Sorry Cow Patty's we will not be back. Such a shame. I had an AWFUL experience here. My daughter is 12 years old, she wanted something from the kids menu as she normally does. Which it states (12 and under). Yes she looks older than she is, so what! The waitress we had assumed she was older! Do not assume. It is rude. When my daughter ordered she said "I can't give you everything because it's for 12 and under". Like hello?? Let's not promote assumptions please! This was just so disrespectful. She also just gave an attitude the whole time for no reason and my daughter had to ask for the ice cream that came with her meal because she didn't bring it out.
