Amazing bagels and breakfast! Good selection of bagels and cream cheese spreads. So fresh and flavorful. We were in town visiting family and came across this spot and had it 3 separate times in 5 days and took a dozen back home with us to California. The owner Akeef (I'm sorry if the spelling is wrong!) is a wonderful man, you can see he loves what he does and he remembers everyone! The phone was ringing off the hook and there was a constant line but did not wait more than 5 mins to receive the food. Plenty of space to eat in or take out. Great friendly and speedy service. Ask what just came out for a hot bagel (no need to toast). The bagels are a great texture and very yummy. So many different bagels and spreads; you can go hundreds of times and get a different bagel each time. Generous portions and good price. The service was quick and friendly for how busy it was. Stopped in while headed through town. Great find. It looks like they have a great menu with tons of options. The bagels looked great, I will have to stop back in and grab some next time I'm in town. I ordered the Caesar Chicken Wrap. Loaded with great tasting chicken and tons of bacon...they had me at bacon. It also came with a pickle and potato salad. Great tasting wrap. My wife got the grilled Ham and Cheese. Looked great to me. Her only complaint is that there was too much ham, I'm just not sure how that is a complaint...more meat. Went to Hamburg Hot Bagels while staying at the Grand Cascade for a wedding. We expected a good bagel here and we were not disappointed. Most interesting someone was eating an omelet and we asked them about it and they said it was very good. Sure enough the omelet was delicious and the potatoes were nice and crisp too. Don't expect table service. Get on the line Sunday morning and enjoy your bagel. read more

Steer clear of this place at all costs! Other bagel shops around are way better, cleaner, cheaper and friendlier too. This place is a total ripoff and accuse their customers of stealing $$ out of their tip jar also. The shop is dirty. The employees need an attitude adjustment! From a food standpoint, Hot Bagels is decent, but the bagels really aren't anything to write home about. Lox Of Bagels in Vernon is actually better. Hot Bagels does get a prize for the friendliest and most accommodating staff. I'll give them credit for that. I recently ordered a sandwich for lunch and had to eat in the car. It was so sloppy, I simply couldn't eat it, so I brought it back and got a refund. They refunded my money without an argument. read more

Food is decent but I'm going to go to another local place to get my bagels, as they really don't care about customers that aren't regulars. Placing a order on the phone is a waste of time unless you went to high school with one of the workers and they recognize you. Called my order 20 minutes in advance and walked up to the counter to pay with my card in hand and two drinks with my son in my arms. I wait patiently for over 5 minutes (it's not busy, maybe 4 other people in the store that are waiting to place orders), just to pay where the owner (bald guy) doesn't even look my way and goes to answer the phone despite me standing there. The rest of the workers proceed to ring up everyone else around me, blatantly ignoring me (unless I somehow developed the superpower of invisibility and I didn't know it). I politely say to one of the 5 workers that decided to ring up everyone and anyone else that was there except me and *gasp* I didn't have superpowers after all, they just didn't care. He gave me my order and rang me up so I was on my way. This place can kick rocks. However, if you live in town you'll be treated like gold, otherwise you can shove the bagels where they all come out eventually. They won't miss my business I'm sure, but I won't miss their mediocre bagels and garbage interpersonal skills, either. Bagels aren't good enough to justify the hype of this place and dealing with the awful ordering / checkout experience. read more

I'll start as if this was a eulogy for an uncle that I didn't really like but at family gatherings was the only one that I could stand. When my wife and I first moved to the area 2 years ago we were a bit shell shocked by the limited culinary options compared to where we came from. With us both working full time and cooking dinners for the majority of the week, enjoying someone else making breakfast for us is an anticipated weekend pleasure that we would indulge in at Hamburg Hot Bagels but will be seeking a new bagel shop.  Hamburg Hot Bagels is a nice place but by no means a caliber of superiority. We've enjoyed their food weekly with and without out of town guests and appreciated that they were often busy so we'd always order ahead and patiently wait in line. Today was a similar expectation but with disappointing results both on a quality and customer service level. I'd like to reiterate that making bagels and breakfast sandwiches isn't rocket science, it's not solving world hunger, nor curing Covid so customer service is a huge part of the business. Hamburg Hat Bagels is not a Michelin star restaurant in Paris or a modern bagel shop pumping out new methods or funky flavors, it's just a deli at best that has fresh bagels.  My wife is about to give birth, literally in 1 week, so obviously her requests can be a little different so today she wanted a sausage egg and cheese with half of the sandwich with jalapeño cream cheese. He said he would put the cream cheese on the side and I asked him to just put it on because obviously there's a sense of haste when feeding pregnant women. I get it, trust me, I worked in the food industry as a pastry chef, bar tender, cater waiter, and everything in between but at the end of the day if you run an establishment that is made to order breakfast food then you accommodate. We ordered about 20 minutes in advance and when I walked in I was surprised to hear my order being discussed by the bald gentleman that usually is very helpful mentioning the guy ordering this half jalapeño cream cheese sandwich as being a pain in his ass. At the same time I was telling another guy behind the counter my order, because he asked me, and then the bald guy throws his hands in the air and literally yells "Sir your order is being made please wait". So I walked out to my car where my pregnant wife was waiting to see if she'd been having any more contractions.  So, I walk back in and again the bald guy has something to say telling me that he lost his voice calling me that my order was ready. Then sarcastically explains that he even made my wife's sandwich half jalapeño cream cheese but he wanted me to do it. I asked him if it was a problem to make the sandwich as I asked because he seemed a little upset and then he said no I just wanted you to do it. I then asked him if he wanted me to come back there and make my entire order as well because it wasn't rocket science. Again I asked him if there was a problem and told him that I come to this place weekly but he starts talking about how we made it to the moon and bla bla bla... so I paid and left not dragging on the distasteful display of immaturity and lack of customer service.  My uncle was a good man, oh wait, this is a food review not an actual eulogy though I sort of wish I was dead for wasting so much time and money on this business. We were loyal customers but at the end of the day, I could get better bagels 10 other places within the same travel time we just happened to commit to this place. Hamburg Hot Bagels is a busy place so they won't miss us but when it comes to the principle of taking care of customers, pregnant or not, they need a lesson and they need to wake up. Shame on you for acting so poorly today - my family and friends will never give you business again.  Happy 4th of July. read more

Akif, the owner is the sweetest man you'll ever meet! I went towards the end of day once and they were all out of the bagel i wanted only because they were closing soon and Akif offered to make a fresh one for me. He always greets me making it feel like a positive safe environment. He knows all of his locals by their names and u can tell has a passion and care for what he does being a businessman! I was in town staying at the Crystal Springs resort for my cousins wedding. I opted for skipping the resort breakfast for 3 days, and came here instead.
