I am a 56-year-old attorney from Texas, and the last two years have been among the most transformational of my life. My middle son got married, my youngest became a CPA, I lost more than 130 pounds, and I have been traveling regularly to New York City while searching for a second home and preparing to open my second law office here. But during this transformation, I also experienced significant hair loss. As a woman who had always had long, healthy hair, losing my hair was devastating and incredibly humbling. Unless you have experienced it, it is difficult to understand how deeply hair loss can affect your confidence and sense of self. I researched hair extensions and hair loss solutions extensively. Unfortunately, out of desperation, I initially went to someone in Texas who damaged my already fragile hair even more. After that experience, I was terrified to trust anyone again. While staying at The Carlyle, I asked my esthetician at the Valmont Spa who she would trust if she needed the absolute best in New York City. Without hesitation, she recommended Angelo David Salon. I scheduled a virtual consultation and was stunned to discover that my consultation was personally with Angelo David himself. That immediately told me something about this salon. Despite his extraordinary reputation and celebrity clientele, Angelo personally evaluates his clients because he genuinely cares about their hair, their individual needs, and the outcome. He was meticulous, knowledgeable, compassionate, and incredibly reassuring. From the moment I arrived for my installation, I was treated like royalty. Every member of the team was exceptional, from Kumru the colorist and assistant America who carefully removed my previous extensions and cared for my hair, to Guadalupe, who installed my new extensions with incredible precision and patience. They never rushed me. They listened. They understood why I was nervous. They let me see and feel the hair and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. The atmosphere is pure New York luxury! They brought me wine and even a martini during my appointment! I also met clients who had traveled from across the country specifically to have their hair done at Angelo David Salon, along with a few celebrities, which added a little New York magic to the day! But what makes this salon extraordinary isn't the celebrity clientele. It is the expertise, attention to detail, kindness, and genuine care. When I looked in the mirror after my extensions were finished, I didn't just see beautiful hair. I felt like myself again. That is something I will never forget. For any woman experiencing hair loss, thinning hair, damaged extensions, or simply searching for exceptional hair extensions or a top colorist in New York City, I cannot recommend Angelo David Salon highly enough. Absolutely despicable. Stay away from Leather Spa at all costs! Destroyed a brand new, unworn pair…read moreof Louboutin boots for which I just paid over $2k at Saks. I first brought the boots to the Grand Central location and was turned away because apparently only 55th Street (the least accessible NYC location for me) does calf alterations. My boots were 1-1.5" too wide in the calves as I have very narrow legs, and while I was clear that I didn't want them to be tight, I did want them to look more fitted and neater around my legs. I went to 55th Street and intentionally had the boots fitted over jeans, repeatedly telling the store employee that he was cutting off my circulation and needed to loosen the boots. Rather than listen to me and do what I asked, he told me that they could stretch them if they turned out too small. I very adamantly said no, I will not compromise the integrity of the leather by stretching them nor will I agree to have the boots made too small so that additional work will be required. I finally asked him to provide the final measurement and was told it was 13". The boots were originally 14.5" for reference. The boots were ready in just over a week, which already had me concerned since I hadn't requested a rush job. Upon receiving them, I could immediately see that they were two different sizes. The left boot is 12.5" and the right boot is just barely 12.25". They are nearly impossible to zip, the seams were done VERY poorly and not straight, and most importantly, they do not fit without severe pain. I cannot walk in them. I literally can't even move my right ankle. And that's on my bare legs without jeans. I immediately contacted Leather Spa and received a response from Vincent who said it's very common for boots with this type of repair to require additional treatment and that I should bring them back for stretching. Did I not already have this conversation BEFORE I paid $300+ to ruin $2k+ boots??? Vincent insists they are not ruined even after I sent photos showing that they very much are. Further, they didn't even send them back to me nicely - they threw shreds of cut leather pieces inside one of the boots and just sent them off that way as further evidence of the total rush job. I used to frequent Leather Spa 55th and my patronage fell off years ago after they did something very similar to a pair of $300 boots. I was very clear during my visit this time that that could not happen again with my brand new Louboutin boots that were significantly more expensive. Had the employee just told me on the spot that they were going to cut my boots too small and require stretching thereafter, I would've taken the boots, walked out and gotten them repaired elsewhere. Literally the only reason I returned to Leather Spa is because Christian Louboutin recommends them. Never again.

They were friendly, welcoming, and explained in great detail how they would work on my dress. I looked forward to all my fittings because I found the ladies to be very lovely. They had the type of energy I wanted to be around before getting married. I never had a problem communicating with them via phone or email, and they were flexible and willing to work around my schedule. The job they did on my dress was impeccable; it fit me like a glove. They detached the sleeves, and they suggested other alterations to make my dress more "breathable" for my tropical destination wedding. They even helped me pack my dress for travel!Thanks so their work l got to dance all night long- I wore the dress for 12 hours and was SO comfortable the whole time! Each time, I was asked to provide the same information, despite prior chats and confirmation that the return had already been received. I was told I would get an update within 24 hours--days went by with no communication. Only after reaching out again was I finally told the refund would be processed. While I did eventually receive confirmation, I was disappointed to see that shipping was deducted, even though I had already paid to send the item back. After all the delays and lack of follow-through, that felt like poor business practice. Customer service should not require this level of persistence just to get a resolution. The lack of communication, repeated runaround, and having to chase my own refund made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I would not recommend this company based on this experience.
