He followed up promptly after our phone call with more thoughts and suggestions, along with an ETA of arrival and driving directions. Upon pulling into the business park, we saw Chris standing outside of the clinic dressed in scrubs and ready to go, kindly waiving us down and showing us where to park. Our first impressions of the location itself were incredible. The clinic felt more like a salon, was clean, bright, and calming. Chris began moving quickly and first worked into my hair, to be sure of my status. Chris quickly sectioned off my hair, worked through my tangoes swiftly and gently, and showed me the results. He worked through the dehydration treatment quickly, and even managed to direct my four year old to the play area and turned on the tv-- so swiftly, that I hardly noticed he moved. He knew just what to do to keep my toddler preoccupied while we treated me first. He gave plenty of take home suggestions, offered preventative tips and tools, and offered the million questions I had. In fact, he even offered a lint roller for me to ensure my cloth car seats were good to go! He then treated my four year old by first sectioning hair and combing. Followed up with a dehydration treatment just like mine. He maintained a positive and intriguing conversation with us the entire time, which made the clock pass by quickly. He was well prepared to ensure we didn't get treatment oil on our clothes or car, and even quipped a joke or two about the post treatment caps. Finally (and most importantly) he is the first person that provided a service of sorts (IE: Doctor, hair dresser, dentist, etc.) to my four year old without losing a drop of patience because she made the experiencing more challenging than it ever should be, through wiggling/moving/crying/wanting hugs/wanting to watch tv/etc. We went home with peace and comfort, and quickly made it to bed knowing that there was hardly any work to be done on the home front to ensure we were set up for success in respect to ensuring we will remain lice free. The cost was steep, but certainly worth every single penny. I didn't love that they distracted my preschooler from a no-TV household with videos, but it was effective in keeping her still enough to treat. (They did urge me to recommend the $25 head check to close contacts, but that didn't seem unreasonable under the circumstances). They also provide a clearly written fact sheet (with attached request to provide a review [eyeroll]), which dispels some persistent internet myths about the level of house cleaning required after lice are discovered, and they were patient answering follow up questions.
