Love coming to Lichas! Especially on weekends because they have café de olla! If you want authentic Mexican food that's homemade this is the place for you! Just like your abuelita makes it! They serve you chips and salsa and they have licuados and aguas frescas for drinks! We usually order the tacos de chicharrón, the tortilla is crispy on edges and the chicharrón is perfectly seasoned! We also order the sope de tinga, milanesa con papas and their chile rellenos are so good a lot of the plates come with tortillas hechos a mano! And my little picky eaters get sopa de fideo with rice and beans and they love and eat it all! The inside is small but cozy and the owner and his wife are always so sweet, bien amables! Highly highly recommend!

Look at this strawberry and choco banana shakes!!! Huge and delicious!!!

Great food, feels like homemade food! Huge portions! Great customer service. Downside have to pay cash. There's only like 6 tables. They had music but also have tv for entertainment

Riquisisisima torta!!! La salsa tenía un delicioso sabor igual que mi horchata! Recomiendo todo !!!

Carne Asada super burrito

Very delicious, staff is very friendly! They do not sell little sides of guacamole or add to burritos or anything, only a large portion for $13. The salsa is also delicious! Would recommend the carne asada super burrito

4 crunchy chicken taquitos! With rice and beans ! So good!

I called in my order and picked it up because it was late and they close at 6pm. Cash only so i had to get money and get over there! My food was being bagged as i arrived! Perfect timing! Their food is always delicious and made to order. They are family owned and it shows! They really care! They are open everyday except Tuesdays 9-6pm but 9-5pm on sundays.

Great quality and delicious. I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Their prices have increased and it is cash only, but which business hasn't? If you want a really home made taste, this is it! The super burrito is huge! Just look at the other dish for reference. I had this five hours ago and I am "still" full!.

I don't know why I have not reviewed this restaurant until now. Perhaps it's one of those times when you want to keep a good secret to yourself. Alas the world must know, this place is pretty amazing! The biggest positive I can reference is it's freshness, everything is cooked when you order it. It may take a little longer than some places but it is well worth the wait. I usually get the enchiladas which are to die for, totally delicious and tasty. As I write this I am getting hungry and craving them. Also, make sure to take advantage of their fresh salsa, not too spicy but with enough of a kick to say hi there. Additionally, you should get their toasted tacos, again super fresh and delicious. I always get the chicken ones, I imagine you could try them with other meats as well. I'm usually a taco guy only but this restaurants quality and taste make me explore beyond. Also, don't forget to try their fresh drinks as well. Oh and their tacos are pretty tasty as well. Unfortunately their parking lot is super small but hey it's totally worth it. Also, remember to bring cash.

13$ for this ? Really.? Never going again

My doctor says I should have 32 oz of Horchata daily

ESL. This is definitely a speak Spanish first, English second place. So cool. I love to go to an authentic place, especially somewhere I can show off the 5 words that I know. This has it all -- the worn out sign (peeling/faded), soccer on the TV, simple decor, and horchata in a large, unbranded container. A small 5 car parking lot. The menu has all the usual fare, all at a super reasonable price, most between $5-7. Maybe 10 tables at best inside, table service, with a real menu. Warm chips are served in a little basket with riojo sauce (not salsa), and those went down nicely. On a Saturday early afternoon, a Machaca burrito was what I desired. I ordered, ate, but did not conquer. I just couldn't finish it, and lost. Or, is it a win for later when I open the little "to go" box? Perhaps it was just too many chips. Perhaps it was the 32 oz small trashcan size amount of Horchata they served me. Frothy, and lots of vanilla flavor. #worthy The best part of Licha's is the feeling while dining here. I had the sense of an invited guest in a home, partaking in an informal dinner. As if they are already cooking for the family, why not invite the hungry-looking gringo to join us? While the Chipotle's, Baja Fresh and the likes....all seemingly rule the fricken universe, it's great to have the option of a family-owned alternative to cookie-cutter corporate americano-types. Given all this, I don't think I the rating is beyond a 3.5, but I'll round up and not down. It's not worth a huge drive to get here -- but 5 miles, si.

Carne asada mulitas

Yum! I'm not sure which state of Mexico this place is, but it's not your typical burritos, tacos, flautas kind of place. This place had huaraches, mulitas, tortas, chilaquiles, etc. I tried some of the steak huaraches, and had the carne asada mulitas as my main entree. It was steak, onions, cheese, & guacamole stuff between two house made tortillas. So good! The horchata was big. The complimentary salsa was addicting. This place is cash only!

Their phone number doesn't work but they are open. I came here last week for lunch. Lucky for me, it was an off hour so there was only one customer in the store. They have a tiny parking lot for 3-4 cars. When I got here, I was seated right away. The guy working was nice, and he opened the curtains for me since he saw that I was reading. I ordered the chile relleno and a chicharron taco. The chile relleno was good, but the chicharron taco was just okay. I was expecting it to be dry, but it was soggy since they used the chicharron similar to the ones you'd buy at the store to eat as chips.. and put some sauce on it. Complimentary chips and salsa were cool. I would come back.

I've been holding off on this review for a long time, but every time I drive by the place I'm reminded of the experience I had. We had ordered some chilaquiles con carné asada. Every place I've been to that serves chilaquiles, offers the dish with no meat, or with meat at a small additional charge. The meat (if ordered) will be diced, cooked, and served on top of the chilaquiles. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DO THAT. IF YOU ORDER CHILAQUILES AND REQUEST MEAT, YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM YOU WANT STREET TACO MEAT ADDED, OTHERWISE THEY WILL ADD AN ACTUAL STEAK AND NOT TELL YOU THE EXTRA CHARGE. I ended up paying almost $20 for the damn plate. And the plate was a watered, disgusting mess. I'm going to include 2 pictures. One picture has chilaquiles with chopped meat - the food looks amazing and delicious. And it is, it's from a restaurant in LA called Los Anaya which y'all should definitely check out. That picture shows how chilaquiles SHOULD be done. The second picture is of the hot mess I got. Never again. Avoid at all costs.

They started us off with chips, salsa, and a bean dip, which was a nice touch and something I don't see everywhere. I went with the two-item combo enchilada plate with shredded chicken and shredded beef, served with rice and beans. The portion size was very good - definitely satisfying - and the enchiladas were exactly what I was hoping for. This is comfort food for me, and this plate delivered. We also ordered the carnitas plate and the chile colorado, both served with rice and beans. The chile colorado had good flavor overall and was enjoyable. The carnitas had good flavor, though the texture was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were tender, while others felt slightly overcooked or dry, which made a few bites less satisfying than they could've been. The salsa was good - not the best I've ever had, but flavorful and a nice complement to the food. Service was friendly, they took our order quickly, and the food came out fast. They were busy, so there was a slight delay at times, but still attentive when we needed them. Parking is mostly street parking, and when we went there was space available, though you may have to walk a little bit depending on the time. Overall, the portion size and value stood out to me. This is a solid, comforting Mexican spot, and I'd come back.

First, just like most casual Mexican restaurants you are greeted with house made salsa and chips to snack on while you study the menus for your meal. The salsa is very fresh and the chips are not, thank goodness, over salted. It's a perfect starter! I enjoyed the meal option of four chicken flautas with rice, beans, and perfectly portioned guacamole and sour cream. You are able to make your own choice of meat stuffing, which I love, knowing that the flautas are freshly made. I chose to have chicken and found it to be perfectly fried, not overly seasoned, which some places do. I like that you can actually taste the chicken and not just spice. I also had the horchata to drink, and I loved it! The service is wonderful, with many families flocking to the restaurant for that homemade feel for dinner. The staff has always been kind enough to offer a refill of your drink/soda to go if you wish. Kindness from the staff is a real highlight of Raul's. The ambiance of being at home is a plus for me. There are a few handicap parking spots available in the small adjoined parking lot, with easy wheelchair access through the front door. There is also plenty of parking spots located on the street and in the available parking lot located in the middle of Hawthorne Blvd. There is a television with captions on for those that are HOH, hard of hearing. Being a hearing aide user, I sincerely appreciated this. I consider this a hidden gem in Hawthorne.

Its a few blocks down from my Mom's house and right across the street from Hawthorne High School. I went with their 4 taco combo, shredded beef. How were they? Pretty freaking tasty! Right when I took the lid off the container, they looked similar to old school El Tarasco tacos. Red sauce on top, fried shell etc. Even the chips they give you were full fried tortillas. Bomb! The tacos were tasty, but they lost a little texture and crisp from the delivery. They would be better if ordered at the shop. Still, even then, I enjoyed every bite of them. They had lots of shredded beef in them, tons of lettuce and cheese and that red sauce. Damn fine tacos! I will definitely be back to eat inside there the next time I go see my Mom. Good stuff!

We were staying near LAX and I didn't want to drive too far, so we stumbled upon this Mexican spot in the cutest little downtown area ever. El Segundo, you are THAT b*tch! We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated immediately (thank goodness). Our server was super duper friendly and even had multiple conversations with us throughout the meal, sharing anecdotes and talking to my tattoo artist friend about getting a tat from her LOL. We quickly ordered some chips and queso (not free) and were blown away by how creamy and tasty the queso was. The tortas were also delicious and easy to scoop a lot of cheese on to. On to the menu, they had a good variety of Mexican dishes, but the price point, man. I thought $4-5 a taco at Barrio Queen in Arizona was steep, but this place charged $7-8 for a single small taco. I would've been okay with any menu item since it's Mexican and nothing under that cuisine could be bad, but seeing each enchilada over $30, made me steer clear of the main entree dishes. I also knew I wanted to try fish tacos, so I just opted for one fish taco and one grilled taco, with a side of mashed black beans. Crazy that some black beans also were at least $5. The fish taco was nicely battered and the guacamole was ripe and creamy, but the grilled chicken taco was nothing spectacular. There was also cauliflower tacos and beef brisket tacos ordered among us. My friend who ordered the beef brisket taco rated it 7.5/10, whereas the cauliflower tacos were rated 9/10. The food also took at least 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Both sauces my tacos came with were extremely spicy so I didn't even touch those. My friends enjoyed their meals, and the side of green rice two of them got was rather tasty. Overall, our server was the best part of the experience. She really ate DOWN, whereas our food and the price point did not.
