Like I always say on here, you have to be AMAZING or so piss poor that it's unreal for me to actually come on here to say something. I came in here hoping to get two Yankees hats. One does my Dad and one for myself. I was indeed greeted when I came in. All good there. There were two employees and four customers when I came in. I started looking for a specific Yankees hat for my Dad. This store is set up very poorly. You basically have to go BEHIND the register to get to certain hats. I kept encroaching on the one guy trying to see the Yankees hats behind him. He didn't even acknowledge me. Didn't move, didn't ask if I needed help. Nothing. 2 minutes later I'm literally the ONLY customer in the store with the two employees. Nothing. I take my phone out and am literally trying to compare the pic in my phone to the hats in front of me. Trying to make it CLEAR I needed help. Nothing. Fuck that! I walked out. Neither of the said a word as I was leaving. Seems like a decent selection of hats, but the employees are dogshit. Go somewhere else. read more

I was driving, wearing my hat and it hit me. This is summer?? Why am I wearing my Kangol wool blend hat? It's hot outside! I need a hippy hop type hat that looks cool. I have plenty of ball caps, I'm not looking for a backwards ball cap where the brim hits the back of the seat. No! I was in the mall, walked into Lids and saw rows and rows of ball caps. And they could custom embroider your purchase? I always think of European Vacation where the son is at the Eiffel Tower and the French girls see his monogramed beret with his name: "Rusty". I need a cap. Something with vents for the summer. I always want something hippetty hop. Are you feelin' me Yelper? I walk in to rows and rows of ball caps. I ask the guy monogramming if Lids carries Kangol caps because I don't see any in the store. He says I have them but they're expensive. What are you, my mother? I'll be the judge, hustle man. He brings out a big case filled with Kangol caps. Why they aren't displayed in the store is a mystery. I have a black wool cap, lo & behold I find a vented blue Kangol cap. I pay for my new cap and drive home wearing my purchase. Lids in Smithhaven Mall? Read my lips: I know you sell 100s of ball caps. I hope the owner/corporate chain reads the review and says why aren't the Kangols on display? read more

All types of caps for your noggin' here at Lids! Select styles are buy one and get one half off. Prices range from $20 to $35 and up depending on the hat which is normal I guess. They will also custom embroider almost anything on hat from names top slogans to logos at an extra cost. Many hat styles here from pro teams to superhero to funny sayings. Some clothing but not a big selection. The store itself is on the smaller side so they are kind of limited, but has more than enough selection of hats to find something to cover up that dome. read more

This is a review of the Lids Kids store. I visited a lot of sporting goods stores this trip looking for a kids Jets hat for my terrible three year old, preferably in pink. In four days, I must have stopped at more stores then I have fingers. I'm very happy to have completed my search successfully. This store has more then just hats. They also carry kids team clothing Alon with novelty items. Perhaps next time I will just stat my search here, next to the Lids store across from the food court. read more

I shopped here 10 minutes before closing which is no problem because I'm an easy shopper, I know what I want. When I tried to enter the store, someone who appeared to not be an employee stopped me at the door and said their closed. I asked what time do they close and I realized there was still 10 minutes left so idk why they were giving me a problem at the door. The kid at the register said we can come in but we can't buy anything. Why would you let someone into the store if we can't even purchase anything and it's 10 minutes until your technically closed? As I walked in I spoke with my girlfriend and told her how strange it was that they were giving us issues since they don't close until another 10 minutes, and why would they allow us into the store if we cannot purchase anything. During this time the kid at the register interrupted my conversation with my girlfriend and with an aggressive and disrespectful tone, told me to "stop complaining and just shop". As soon as he said this to me I immediately confronted him about his behavior. He then repeated himself and continued to disrespect my girlfriend and I. At this moment I realized the people in the store were not employees but simply just friends of the employee who were trying to remove me from the store before closing. I'm a grown man and I will never allow a pathetic employee to disrespect me or my girlfriend, so as I continued to confront him about his unprofessional and disrespectful behavior, he proceeded to say he felt in danger and called security on me. I didn't curse at him, I did not raise my voice nor did I threaten him, but yet he felt it was necessary to call security on me. Now there is security trying to escort me out of the store, embarrassing me in front of the entire mall. All of this after he's the one who was out of line, not me. They closed the gates and locked the door while his friends remained inside laughing at us. There is nothing more pathetic then a wannabe tough guy who starts a problem out of nothing and then plays the victim as soon as they are confronted. I don't know this employee's name but he was maybe 20 years old, relatively short and had the saddest attempt of sideburns I've ever seen i my life. He was wearing a mask so I can't point out any other features. But he is a pure born coward for running his mouth and then calling security once he was confronted for his actions. My little niece doesn't even behave in such a cowardly way. I'll never recommend this Lids and I hope for nothing but the worst for this place. I gave this store 1 star because I cannot select zero stars. read more

I bought a hat for my sons 21 birthday, because of a mistake on the label it was scanned wrong. I bought it back within the 30 days and because it was labeled wrong the manager Dennis who was very rude and disrespectful would not take it back. I never was treated like this and will never go back again. It was very clear that we bought it there but because it was labeled wrong he said could not return it. We have been buying hats there for a long time, but we will not return. read more
