I was getting hangry, and since it was almost lunch time, I figured I would stop in to the Perch for coffee and a crepe. The ambiance is more of a spa than a doctor's office. The Staff - All women! Sorry guys! But that alone made me feel empowered just being there. Every one of them is super kind and friendly. They called me by name on the first visit and every time after. At one point, I called the office to express some fears that I had, and Tara, Dr. Amaka's assistant, was able to "talk me off the ledge." The anesthesiologist is incredibly entertaining and gentle. I didn't even realize she had put me under until I woke up after the surgery. One minute we were talking about Cinco De Mayo and margaritasand the next minute, I was getting dressed post-op! ‍ The Doctor - Dr. Amaka, is incredible! Her warm, gentle demeanor is calming and immediately put me at ease. I was expecting a barrage of physical medical history questions. No! She asked me questions about me and who I am. For example, she complimented my necklace and then ask me to tell her about it. My necklace! She asked why I wanted the surgery and why now. It was more than a routine medical consult. It was like therapy. I feel like she truly cares about me and not just my body but my mind and my spirit as well. The Surgery - I can't say how pleased I am with the results! I am only two months post-op, and I feel like a brand new person. I had a very ugly scar on my abdomen from a poorly performed surgery many years ago. It's gone! Instead of going to Dr. Moore, because of our relationship,I chose to seek help from Dr Sarosiek, the prtner, super nice Doctor. However, I developed encapsulation pretty badly, even-though I had had saline implants before for 40 years. They thought the Mentor group who supplied the implants would warranty them, they didn't so Cool Springs had to eat it. Second surgery to replace went much, much worse. I have a stage 4 encapsulation which they say Mentor will not take care of. My sister works for a plastic surgeon in Atlanta. She deals with Mentor all the time on saline implants. With that group the reps always stand behind their product whether saline or silicone implants. Don't understand what is going on with the lying reps with Cool Springs Plastic Surgery but guess where I am going next.

It is taking me a long time to post this review, because I like to believe the best in people. I want to think that she was having a bad day... But I feel an obligation to let clients know what they're getting into. NOTE: I was going to send this in an email to the former owner, Lisa but unfortunately the spa is *SHOCKINGLY* under new ownership now. (I visited the salon on my last trip to TN last July.) Emmy started the facial at 12:48 and ended the facial at 1:22. I'm not great at time management, but I could tell she was rushing, and she cut it short. I asked Emmy if she did the micro dermabrasion near my milia's on my eyes and she said no I'm not gonna put scrub on your eyes. I understand the eye area is delicate. I have worked in several high and spas in resorts. These milia's were big enough to get to safely- I only made the appointment because I was told him I saw that the aesthetician would take care of them. Upon getting into the treatment room, after I laid down onto the bed and was greeted with a knock maybe 10 seconds after getting undressed- I felt rushed, pressured and uneasy. I just washed my hair, and when she started putting stuff in my face, I asked if she had a headband or towel to keep it out of my hair. Not only did she not have a headband in the room - when I requested one she said, "I think I have one out there.." (with the pregnant pause and subtext of "but I'm not going to go the extra mile." (When anyone who has gotten a facial or done one properly knows the hair must be out of a client's face.) My response: "Oh if it's far no worries..." She never got the headband and continued with her "facial." Emmy immediately told me she couldn't do a scalp massage and a hand massage (or she'd run out of time,) and I said "okay, great as long as you can do the extractions!" Emmy didn't explain at all what she was putting on my face while she was doing it there was no communication it was completely uncomfortable.. nor did she ask if I had any sensitivities or allergies. RED FLAG. Nor did she ask if I wanted oil in my hair for the scalp massage I asked Emmy to get rid of the milias on my cheeks initially, but upon leaving on my way out at the front on, (in the reception area because I noticed she either forgot or ignored my comment and my right cheek had redness and heavy irritation due to her poking at the milias and not finishing.) When I asked about the milias she avoided completely and the two she picked at..note: this was in the reception area she said "THAT'S TINY and I have another client.. so I have to go." Her response in the most uninterested/unprofessional and catty tone. I was shocked at the unprofessionalism I was given, not only because of my experience, working in spas and going to many ... But also because there were other clients and the reception area, as well as the (obviously nice but learning,) brand new receptionist. I have done one of my package for laser hair removal; I paid all upfront. I showed my usual laser tech in Maryland which also does the part for a similar price and they mentioned the tech missed a lot of parts. If I paid for a region I expect them to laser the ENTIRE region. I will try to go in for another treatment with a new tech hopefully and explain my frustration; however, if they still either 1) don't own up to the fact they missed regions I have pictures to prove or 2) do the same job again I will ask for a refund. The parts that were lasered the hair fell out cleanly so the laser does work but there were bald spots and then full hairy spots where they missed. Pending how things go I will update my review.
