The larger bedroom from the bunk vantage.
    Bryan D.

Okay, this is not your normal hotel. We saw the bunk beds online and immediately thought we should try it out. First of all the place smells great. You walk into the front door to the elevator and restaurant/living area (more on this later.) The elevator has a sensor and you have an electronic key on phone app. We started in the 240 ft^2 with 4 bunks. The room has a sink, toilet, nice shower, 4 bunks and 4 lockers. The room is for sleeping and it is super comfortable but very tight. No chairs or TV. The next night we're in the larger 2 bunk room with a Full bed. Super nice with a living area and large bathroom. Kids loved the bunks and wife liked the real bed. Also it was fun to hear the city around us. The living area was the social area until it converted over to the Wild Horses restaurant. The service in the common area was brilliant. Great coffee and wonderful "small" plates. We loved our experience and will stay here again...in the larger room. Hi

Loveeeeeee this place. I don't know how else to share my new obsession with the best thought-out hotel in Denver. Firstly, the rooms and bed options are what make this place the coolest. I haven't seen this anywhere else in Denver. These are adult bunk beds. Bunks with double beds and stairs so no one is having to climb around. We booked the Victorian 6 and have the perfect amount of beds and enough living room space to just hang out in the room. There were lockers in the bathroom for us to store our stuff and we all had our own bed and a good night's sleep with the little curtains around our bunks to block out light. Each bed is set with a plug so you can charge your phone, complete with a little shelf to put it on. The location is perfect. It is centrally located right in the Denver highlands. It is directly across from Acova which is a great restaurant and has a huge patio which is good for current times. The hotel itself it interesting. There is not a front desk and everything is electronic. You check-in from your phone and can download a room key in the app. That doesn't mean you don't have face-to-face service. I had a little frustration in the beginning because no one answers their phone, however, they are quick to get back to any voicemails you leave and will even text you upon your arrival. You can use this as communication during your stay. You can also pop into the restaurant downstairs and get an actual room key and get assistance from the general manager for any of your needs. We were able to order cocktails from the cute lounge downstairs called Wild Flower and they were brought directly to our room. They were delicious. We were also able to order oat milk lattes that were brought up in the morning. An 11 am check out time was just the ticket and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. The beds, the service, the EVERYTHING. My girlfriends and I will be making this a yearly tradition! I highly recommend it!

Now for the negatives (which I would have happily saved for the owner but again they are non-existant). -Not being able to get any communication or calls back from voice-mails left. -Standing in a freezing cold room trying to check ourselves in and make keys for ourselves. Please heat the lobby. - Our room was 58 degrees upon arrival and the heat comes from the top of a 20' ceiling so it took hours literally for our room to get to a comfortable temp. - Shower does not drain well - Mini fridge did not cool well - TV had no directions no cable no streaming services and is essentially useless. It does not pull out from the wall either so you cannot see the TV from any bed only if you sit on the couch which we could not do. - I can not tell what it is exactly but there is a construction company next door r something and some type of loud jackhammer noise till 11pm and again starting at 7am. I feel bad pointing out these items as most of them could easily be remedied by simple tweaks from the owners. I hope that is what happens from this post as this place could be really great.

The trip to Life House LoHi started out on an exceptionally high note! Vanessa Cain greeted me with a gentle smile and quickly began working magic to accommodate my early arrival, broken foot, need for a haircut and a bite for lunch. Her guidance was exceptional as was her demeanor. It was a pleasant surprise to what was obviously a beautiful hotel. The room was chic as were all of the fine linens, towels and drapes. There were views of downtown and excellent music selections that put you at ease. That evening Vanessa booked me at Wildflower, the on-site restaurant with many well-deserved 5-star reviews. Orin made some recommendations and I enjoyed a stellar meal accompanied by hand-crafted cocktails that aligned perfectly to the palette. I highly recommend Life House & Wildflower and above all else, the charming and helpful Vanessa Cain.

The location really can't be beat. You're right in the heart of LoDo. Coors Field is a few blocks from the hotel and Union Station (which connects directly to Denver Airport) is only about a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants, bars, and things to do are all within walking distance, which makes it extremely convenient. When booking, I asked for a high floor, quiet room so I could work. Upon check-in, they honored that request and also upgraded my room from a Journeyman to an Innovator Suite which I greatly appreciated. That upgrade definitely elevated the stay! The Innovator Suite was fantastic. It had two queen beds, two TVs, a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, flexible workspace, and city views overlooking Denver's LoDo District. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, which I had to take advantage off. There's no balcony and while the wet bar includes a small fridge, it's not really functional for anything beyond drinks as there's no space for leftovers or larger items. You also get a token per night to redeem for a free drink at the bar during happy hour, plus free drip coffee in the mornings. Other perks include free churros during social hour, a courtesy car service within a 2 mile radius, and discounts at various shops. There's also a fitness center, although I didn't use it. There were some things missing though: no pool, no spa, housekeeping is by request only, and no breakfast included. Service throughout was excellent. There's 24 hour front desk service and everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and kind. Overall, a strong stay with great service, a fantastic room upgrade, and an excellent location, even if a few expected amenities were missing for the price. If I had to come back to Denver and the company was covering the bill, I would stay again. The location really can't be beat. If I were coming for a leisure trip with a similar budget, I'd probably look for a hotel with a pool and spa instead. This hotel is best suited for people who want to experience LoDo nightlife, catch a game, or just be right in the middle of everything downtown. The room I was upgraded to was probably much more expensive than what I actually paid, which definitely improved the experience. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if I had stayed in the original room I booked. 4.5 stars rounded down.

If you're looking for a cool hotel a short walk from Union Station, The Maven is a great option. We were easily able to walk from the station with our luggage and our room was ready early! The vibe is very cool, eclectic, and modern. From the Airstream-style trailer by the front desk, where they give our churros at happy hour, to the great decor, to the adjoining food hall and cocktail bar- It was just what we were hoping for. A few notes: - If you want housekeeping, you have to ask for it. We didn't know this and were confused why the room wasn't getting refreshed. *Would love to see some small signage about this in the room or mention it at check-in. - Be ready to jot down all the perks when you arrive- from drink tickets for happy hour at the cocktail bar, to % off at the adjoining restaurant and bar, to a free drip coffee at Huck coffee (technically in the food hall? but literally just across the lobby), these are worth taking advantage of! Overall, a great stay and would recommend to others. Shout-out to Kodiak at the front desk who was lovely with all of our questions!

The hotel is located downtown and not far from Union Station, which made getting in from the airport via train very easy. The hotel is within walking distance (about 10-15 minutes) of most downtown attractions, including bars, restaurants, and Coors Field. Anything farther was just a short car ride away. The rooms were spacious and well- designed, contemporary but still comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was large. We also checked out the gym during our stay, which was bigger than expected and had a good mix of cardio machines and free weights. We did not end up dining at the hotel restaurant, but we did enjoy the Kimpton happy hour around 5pm, which was a nice perk and a fun way to unwind before heading out for the evening. The original vault is off the main lobby and very impressive. The original bank must have kept a fortune in it because it is seriously massive. Rooms are modern and clean. Maybe it's that they are smaller or older. Or the technology is outdated, but it's frustrating until you realize the room key issue. I was going to only give them four stars because of this but the history won me over.

Breakfast is served daily, it's supposed to be until 10, I would leave to drop my son off and be back at 0945 and daily they would be cleaning out the food options. The food was hot or miss with quality, and sometimes there were apples or sometimes bananas, nothing consistent. The first 5 days the cereal was Cheerios and labeled gluten free, the other container had lucky charms and was labeled as Chex gluten free. Thank goodness my child knew that it was lucky charms and indeed gluten. The internet was spotty, I was working from the premises the entire time and often had to use my own hotspot. The washing machine for guest use requires quarters, which you have to buy from the front desk with cash. Two times the washer broke during use and I had to bag soaking wet clothes to hand over to maintenance to take to be washed. There is only one washer and dryer. Very disappointing for a long length of stay. Also in the age of technology there are several hotels that laundry is managed with an app, allowing me to pay via app and see how much long is left and if the machines are available. There is a lack of trash receptacles in the hotel. There are none on each floor by the elevator. Myself as well as others on our floor would leave a bag of trash outside of our room daily as we don't want our room to smell like the food we ate all day/night. On our first full day here we took it down to look for a trash can and the one outside the front doors where people unload their vehicle was overflowing, we noted this multiple days of our stay. Housekeeping were friendly in the halls, they service rooms once every 3 days. Since I was working in the room and I kept the room clean we used the sign on the door to opt to have them come when we were ready. If I saw them in the halls it was easy to get trash bags, towels and cups. One day we requested service and sat in the lobby working all day and they never came by. Keep in mind it's a refresh, our bed was already made and we keep our room clean, I just wanted a tidy of the bathroom counter, towels etc. I had to reach out to the front desk to ask around 415 for service but it needed to be quick because we were coming back to the room. They were able to oblige and serviced it quickly. The refrigerators are very small and not cold, perhaps an option in some rooms for people with lengthier stays to have a larger refrigerator and freezer options. We couldn't purchase any frozen items for our lengthy stay with only a small fridge. The location is nice, easy to get to anywhere on campus or to the downtown area, performing arts area etc. several Ubers are often in the area for further driving needs. Over all of we came to Denver for a long stay I might consider staying here but would look at options with better amenities for food and wash. For a short stay it would meet my needs.

The services were available but were not actively proffered. On the other hand, their spa was utterly fantastic! The hotel food was lackluster and focused on steak over anything else. They had other types of food, obviously, but steak was in plentiful abundance over anything. The housekeeping staff was amazing and on top of their game. The room quality was very good and spacious; larger than most hotels' suites. The in-room bar and mini-fridge were not free despite being labeled an "honor bar." I'm not cheap; I have no issue paying. My issue is the deceptive marketing of the so-called honor bar. The room's furniture was not cheap, but it did appear tacky with the illusion of being of quality. On the positive side, the staff were polite and attentive, and the room was cleaned while I was out. The view was also very impressive. Overall, with all things considered, I'd pick a different hotel; there are better hotels in the immediate area with a lower price tag and the spa is not worth it, despite its attentive and fantastic service. This can work for this type of hotel, but only if the soft product is excellent (see the Ritz Carlton Osaka for an "old school" aesthetic done right for this kind of place). That said, the bell staff and valets were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the property is fine - walkable to some local attractions, but there isn't much in the immediate area. Elway's was a disastrous experience deserving of its own review. If you're looking for a nice hotel in Denver, Hotel Clio and Hotel Arts would both be on my list before this place.
