Hhhhhhomg, the sourdough. My favorite is the cheddar cheese curd sourdough. This is a real, longer ferment sourdough with great stretch and delicious flavor and, most important of all, bothers my digestion less! We have driven up here from Ohio twice now, just for the bread! And even with all that, I managed to take zero pictures! It's a crime. This place deserves pictures. The breads, in particular, are gorgeous. We got sandwiches here once and they were both solid. We took them nextdoor to the park and had a delightful picnic. I tried to order the bacon cheddar grilled cheese, but they were out of bacon! I subbed turkey, asked for the mustard aioli (which it turned out was waaaaaay more mustard than aioli...maybe just straight mustard) on the side. I also asked them for a side of the fig spread they use on their brie sandwich and boy am I glad I did! It was great on this sandwich. The bread was their plain sourdough, which is predictably great. The Italian sandwich - this comes on the foccacia. This bites well, but it does not have any stretch to it. It's very soft, but also had a sort of grainy texture. It was a little messy from the Italian dressing, but otherwise it was a pretty decent cold cut sandwich. I might ask for it with a different bread in the future. Polish sausage pretzel dog - The polish sausage wasn't very flavorful, but it did the job. Would have liked more salt on the pretzel. Needed maybe a little longer in the oven, imo, but maybe that's so you can reheat at home without consequences. Took half of this one home to reheat and I can't say that went well, altho that's probably mostly on the toaster over we used, which was a hellbeast of inconsistent heatblasts. If you have more social machinery, ymmv on the reheating. Garlic cheese sticks - this is their light foccacia style bread, I think. It's pretty garlicky with a decent amount of cheese on it. We liked it but idk that we would get it again either. It was a decent little snack. We also got some coffees here, one iced mocha half sweet (it came possibly with whipped cream or cold foam on top, we couldn't tell which), and a Cafe Miel, hot. The mocha was solid, not too sweet, chocolatey & milky but the coffee taste still came thru. This would be way too sweet at full sweet, but half was great. The Miel was a nice blend of honey and cinnamon, but is also order that half sweet next time. It wasnt overwhelming, but I prefer my drinks less sweet. If that's you, too, also order everything half sweet here! They're very accommodating. Cakelettes in birthday cake and cookies & cream - I thought the cake on these were both really nice, great texture, moist. The chocolate one has a larger crumb and was more moist. The filling of the cookies & cream was outstanding. Basically crushed up oreos in whatever their buttercream is. The cake on this one was like a pie shell that they filled with icing, with an Oreo on top (which was soft from the refrigerated case). The birthday cake had more cake and less icing, more like a flat cupcake with icing on top. The flavor of the icing on that one was fine, but nothing special. My partner and I argued over whether the sprinkles made or ruined the experience, so just know that there are a decent amount of them on the edges of the icing and also lots baked into the cake itself and if you love em, great! If not...avoid. Staff recommendations were the Cherry Chip & Blueberry Lavender, but we tried neither on this trip. Funny enough, our favorite darn thing we've ever had here was a mistake item We came back here hoping to find them, but there were non, so we asked and learned the story of their Frankenstein birth! Apparently, when they make one of their regular menu items wrong, they have these leftover bits that they turn into Whoopie Pies. These are basically the cakelettes, but in a sandwich form. These hit me right in the childhood feels. A nostalgic flavor that sent me right back to my grandma's kitchen. Personally, I think they should be making this mistake full time and twice on Sundays. I would drive half an hour to relive my childhood flavor memories anytime. read more

I used to genuinely enjoy supporting this bakery, which makes this disappointing to write. After learning more about how the tip jars are handled, I no longer feel comfortable spending money there. Like most customers, I assumed the tips placed in those jars were going directly to the employees working behind the counter and making drinks during busy rushes. Finding out that employees reportedly do not directly receive those tips feels misleading and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The staff always seem to work incredibly hard, especially during rushes, and customers tip because they want to support THEM. If tip money is being used differently, customers deserve transparency about that. For me personally, this -- combined with other experiences that made me feel unwelcome -- has changed how I view the business entirely. I'll be choosing to support other local businesses moving forward. read more

Super cute small town business, filled with gifts and so many desserts and sandwiches. We got the sweet rolls as we always do across the country. They were a solid 7/10, dense bread, minimal cinnamon, and lots of frosting. The Italian stromboli was very tasty,though I wasn't certain if it was supposed to be kept at room temperature in the case, or if it had just been made and not cooled yet? I nervously ate a third since it seemed to have a mayo spread. Service was matter of fact, no smile, just business like, certainly not an invitation to return. read more

Stopped in here for a late lunch after the Lavender festival. This place was crazy busy. But we were able to order our sandwiches. They were delicious. We tried the Italian and the grilled cheese. Both were perfect. The chocolate chip cookies were also really good. One negative comment is it was very confusing where the line was. There was a separate line to order sandwiches then another area to pay. Would make more sense to do it all at once. read more

I live on a dead end street of 6 houses. This Halloween we had a record breaking number of Trick-or-Treaters - ONE. My neighbor brought down gift bags for my grandsons filled with candy, fortune cookies, etc. Included were bags of decorated sugar cookies. Not only were they beautiful but they were awesome! Great homemade taste, not overly sweet. Usually decorated butter cookies have a thick layer of royal icing that ruins the taste but this icing was thin but held together and had a hint of edible glitter. I wish we had taken photos but these went quickly. So, the bucket of artificial ingredients and dyes are going in the trash but the cookies will remain at the top of our list of treats. We also got four fresh laid eggs from our other neighbor. Never have I ever. Best Halloween ever! read more

This is immediately Eye candy! From the street view to the entrance of the door and you'll fall in love as you approach the glass casting all the delightful treats! But wait! There is more! They sell fresh local flowers and fresh baked sourdough and seasonal treats! Oh my, it is too good to describe all in one visit. This was our first visit and boy do we regret not coming fast enough! Have had this pastry shop in mind for a year now and found myself in Milan so we decided to give it a go. It is such a cute Bakery, I love the aesthetic and feel of it. The display of pastries are glass and they have towered pastry galore! My eyes wanted everything in here! It was so tuff to decide so we got one of almost everything. They also had free samples of their sourdough bread which won my heart so of course we bought a loaf! We tried their vanilla hot latte and it was really nice! This place is so cute. There is a lot of gift and unique food items to buy. The bake goods are delicious especially the shortbread cookies, breads, pies. Such a cute place! We were in the area and stopped in for lunch and ice cream. I just loved how adorable the inside was! And they had so many options to eat! This place is a great bakery. The food is so great, the cookies are good, great cake, bread is soooo good and of course ice cream. Overall very diverse menu with some great picks. They also have a fridge in the back with juice, milk, and tubs of their ice cream. The service is the only mediocre thing, it's good nothing extremely special though. The overall vibe and ambiance is pretty good. The light blue aesthetic is perfect for the bakery theme. "Life is sweet" also has an extension, it is a shop that sells bowls, utensils, cups and much more. They also occasionally do wine tasting. This place has so many good items it's hard to pick. The cookies alone will keep you coming back. We love the lemon and gingerbread cookies. Hand made panini sandwich (chicken club) grilled is my favorite. I love the pizza rolls. So many pastries sell out every day, including the cannolis. Also have to go sandwiches and kombucha. This was a beautiful shop...outside...inside...tons of unique knick knacks and extras. I was excited that I finally I was able to stop in. Service was great as well. I purchased a little variety for the fam & I to try. It seemed as if everything was lacking unfortunately. The brookie was hard it was difficult to eat and just didn't taste well.Vanilla cupcake was hard as well, tasted a little stale maybe. I was most excited for the cheesecake because that's my Fav but it was just missing the richness and flavor of cheesecake for me. Finally, the chocolate cupcake was the best tasting...it wasn't moist like you expect cake to be, but out of the 4 tasted the best. I am just trying to be honest. This place was absolutely adorable and had the friendliest staff!! To spend that amount of money I was just expecting things to taste better and be of higher quality that's all. What a cute little bakery for downtown Milan! My friend and I went here, I got an Italian sandwich and a mango smoothie. Delicious! Everything is made fresh there and the staff were friendly, with plenty of business. I would love to try their coffee and their baked goods when I go back. read more

WOW! I would easily put this bakery in the top 3 in all of Michigan (White Wolf and Sister Pie filling it out respectively). The store itself is a gorgeous kitsch mecca. If you need a mug that says ~Live Laugh Caffeine~ I bet they have it. There is always a full display case of insanely tempting pastries and tarts, the sandwich bread loaves are so worth it, and the coffee is decent! My favorite is the chocolate biscotti. It's hard to find fresh handmade biscotti and they do it well. I come here once a month to pick up my prescriptions at the "Little Pharmacy" next door and always look forward to coffee and a biscotti afterwards. It is so worth the drive from Ann Arbor. read more

This is a delightful shop with very tasty handmade food. They have sandwiches, soups, stuffed croissants, muffins, stuffed cookies, hand painted cookies, lattes, fresh brewed teas, ice cream, and I'm sure I'm missing some. Love this bakery. Have been visiting since they opened and eagerly follow the fb page for preorder updates and new creations. I have never had a bad exp with staff or timing. It is often quite busy but that is because everything is as delicious as it looks! I hope they do more pies outside of the holiday season. I was lucky enough to pick up a cheesecake pumpkin pie and it was probably my favorite part of my thanksgiving meal!! read more

Yoon's was bread and bun heavy and their prices overall were higher (if you can believe it!). I did try this Cloud cake $6.50 that was out of this world good but the strawberry jam part was too sweet. The hazelnut cream sandwich loaf (3 small servings) was so beans good with my favorite type of cream that only Asian bakeries can get right! My only complaint is more cream, please!

I used to drink the multigrain drink that would come in powder form. But this drink was elevated by the espresso. What a perfect combo! Now this latte isn't sweet, so if you are looking for sweet, this won't be the drink for you. I had my hubs try it out and said he could taste espresso with an aftertaste of the grains- not something he would order, himself. But I'm definitely going to! He ordered the pistachio latte and I could tell it's very different from other ps's I've had from Monday Coffee Club or from Yemeni coffee houses. It definitely has that light, Korean, nutty taste that isn't strong. The baked goodie, I'm happy to say, has expanded and they offer so much more than they did since my last review. They've added a few nice tables and chairs, so you don't have to leave to enjoy your pastries or coffee, unless there's no spots. Highly recommend Y if you enjoy desserts that's not too sweet.

While I have had BDB's rye teacake at Argus in the past, I had not delved deeply into their full line of products. This changed last week when I popped in and fell in love with their buckwheat financier, spelt scone with braised collards, cheddar, and bacon, and their Ypsi sour loaf. Here's the bottom line: the flavors and textures are just freaking fabulous. Across the board. Financiers, scones, and bread all share the same praise. Remarkable crunchy crusts, juxtaposed with tender interiors, and flavor that just goes on and on. Brand new fan. Well worth the drive out to Ypsi. I think I found my new favorite hangout with those big big windows, easy weekday parking, and free wifi.
