I love my new gym! Everything is shiny, new and clean! We shopped around for a gym a membership when we first moved to Raleigh and after we took a tour of this Lifetime location we fell in love. For the price of my little family of three it is quite comparable to some other gyms around but they didn't offer all of the bells and whistles. The pool is beautiful and they even have a little poolside cafe if you get get a hankering for a snack. The coconut popsicles are delicious. There are smoothies, sandwiches, and salads as well. They offer many classes daily from morning to evening. From spin to hot yoga to Zumba and On occasion there are Yoga under the stars classes. There's an outdoor training track, plenty of brand new workout machines for weight lifting and cardio, lap pools (indoor and outdoor), saunas, hot tub (indoor and outdoor) family locker room, two basketball courts, childcare, two cafes, doctors office and a spa. I'm sure there are plenty more amenities that I haven't even found out about yet! There's ample parking. Even when it looks crowded its not. Go check it out! There are always promotions going on to get you signed up. Another perk is there are no contracts! Yippee. There's a rather hefty membership fee at the beginning but they run promotions on that on occasion as well. Open daily 4am-12am. read more

I recently cancelled our membership with Life Time after being a member for a few years. The facility at theFalls of Neuse location was great as it has many pieces of equipment to get a great workout (reason for two stars). The only complaint I have was the childcare and the unreassuring response we got after an incident in which my child was assaulted under their supervision. As a direct result, we immediately pulled her out. We also had a family friend whose daughter had a negative experience as well in the kids' center. We continued to make it out there as a family, but that incident had left a lasting impression as well with others. In short, I would not trust them with your children if they're not at the age to properly verbalize or communicate on what happens in their time in the kids' center. At this point for us, even with older children, we would not place our kids in there again. We eventually joined another gym with certain safeguards in place to assure us of our children's safety. read more

I really enjoy working out here as a family. We joined this location about a month ago and took a tour of the facility with BOB. He was very personable , pleasant and helpful. He explained all the perks of joining this gym and its family friendly atmosphere. While my husband and I workout ( there are so many great classes offered and the yoga studio is very zen), we are able to have our daughter in the Kids Academy for up to 3 hrs taking a variety of classes. She loves learning sign language, getting her cardio in at Zumba Kids with Jocelyn J , dancing in Cheer,Dance or Ballet or just enjoying playtime with new friends. The staff there are attentive and kind to the children. Its also a clean environment. We all love the outside/inside pool area. Its plenty of seating outside along with music and palm trees. I felt like I was at a resort , complete with a fun, water slide. For me this gym has it all ! read more

Beautiful club, lots of equipment, but training can get in your way. I joined this club a few months ago and love many of items features. It's well appointed, clean, in a convenient location, and has a great kids area. The locker rooms are clean, nicely decorated, and conveniently located near the entrance to the second floor gym. If you have children the childcare is a bit pricey at $20 per child/month, but they have a lot of programs and activities for them each day. My kids enjoy going there and are excited about the different activities they offer. Despite the often full parking lot the gym floor isn't usually as crowded due to the huge amount of equipment they have. There are enough different types of treadmills, elliptical or stair climbing machines that are free during even the busiest times so you don't have to wait. My only complaint is that client, especially group "TEAM" training often takes up large swaths of equipment or work out area forcing you to work around them. Overall a nice club if you're willing to pay the price. read more

I used to be a member of this facility and absolutely loved the other members! The place itself is essentially a country club and is wonderful in the summer with the pool. Because of those things, I give this location two stars instead of one. In my opinion, the staff could use additional training. The last time I was there I felt belittled and disrespected by a staff member who told me to go sit down when I asked a question. I also believe that when a member of management says they will call you or a personal trainer is supposed to help you, they should follow through. Neither of these things happened in my opinion. I have been a member of Lifetime Cary for over a year. Definitely one of the best gyms I've ever been to, so I decided to try Lifetime in North Raleigh. Like the Cary location, this is also a Gold level gym (i.e. has salon, basketball courts, cafe, pools, sauna, etc.). Tons and tons of ellipticals, treadmills, bench presses, and everything else you could want. And group fitness classes (i.e. kickboxing, Zumba, strike, etc.) The cafe is a touch nicer than the one in Cary, and refilling your bottle with water uses a sensor rather than having to hold down a level. Again, both locations are awesome - this one is brand new so has a few extra bells and whistles, but the one in Cary is perfectly fine if you can't/don't want to drive all the way out here. Otherwise, for locals, this gym has everything you could ever need or want. read more

Tried O2 fitness free for 3 days and was happily welcomed into the facility & did not have to hear a single sales pitch. I've been coming here for the past three months, I think its a pretty good value under a hundred bucks considering all the amenities that would be hard to find elsewhere, I haven't signed up for any classes or training of any sort so I can't comment on that, it gets pretty crowded at peak times but since I come late at night I pretty much have the whole enormous place to myself, I've read some of the negative reviews but I still have to find good reviews for that matter on any other athletic club so for what it is I believe it's an awesome place at least for me read more

I joined Lifetime fitness to enjoy the sauna and water activities. I was immediately offered a free class in whatever interest I had. While I was signing up at the front desk to validate my membership, a kind and smiling gentleman asked me what where my goals. I told him that I wanted to look like him. That made him smile. He asked me was I interested in a free session with a personal trainer, and I told him yes. That was not my initial reason joining,it was to sit down in the sauna and think. My personal trainer was appointed to me within a very short time, and when I had my first interview with him, I left motivated to return the very next day to began my life saving journey. My personal trainer, Mr Taylor, asked me what did I want out of the program and I told iwant to live and not develop mental health issues from a job related physical attack I experienced and my weight gain due to my developing depression. Mr. Taylor listened with compassion and told me that all I had to do was show up on schedule, follow a diet plan, work through the exercises and the rest will take care of itself. I lost confidence in my self and felt like I disappointed a lot of coworkers and friends. Mr Taylor gave me back to me. The state of NC will be honored to have a confidence building, body rebuilding, and spiritual building representation to call their own. My job is essential everyday. Mr Taylor is helping me return to work, not on restrictions,but at 100 percent. Thank you Mr. Taylor. And thank you Lifetime fitness for bringing me back to life. I should start by saying I'm more of a boutique fitness kind of girl. I get super overwhelmed in big gyms and tend to hide on a treadmill in a corner with my iPod. However if you are looking for a gym that has everything, I mean everything in one space then Life Time is your place. I've visited the Life Time in Cary previously and was familiar with the set-up. This N. Raleigh location though is off the chain. There is a huge outdoor pool with waterslides, and indoor pool, hot tub, saunas, a spa/salon, child care, a cafe, group fitness rooms, the latest workout machines I've ever seen (seriously I didn't know what some of these were), yoga studio, I'm sure I'm missing something but you get the point. So if I lived close by I might actually consider this gym. They not only have everything but it's top of the line. The gym is spotless and the locker rooms are as luxurious as you can get. Thanks to Britnie J for inviting me to one of the hardest workout classes ever:) Haha well I just realized how much slack I've been doing on my cardio workouts. Go ahead and take a Strike kickboxing class that will whoop your butt back into shape fast. I really loved the class though and the instructor was great, it was less intimidating then I thought and eventually I got the hang of it. It's great to be able to have so many choices of classes in one spot. My daughter gifted me with a facial and 90 minute massage in the spa....the facial was amazing and the massage (with John) was absolutely incredible! I was so happy with both services, I immediately booked my next appointment for another facial and 90 minute massage!!!! I would recommend having the massage first and facial second. I am a member at the Cary location but decided since I was up here that I would give this one a shot and change my routine up a little bit. They might be the same company but these gyms are totally different. The locker rooms look different and even have a hot tub in them; I like the darker lighting. The indoor pool seems a little smaller than Cary and also doesn't have the big double hot tubs or the indoor slide. The workout floors up stair and the basketball courts seem to be the same. I didn't see a rock wall but the one thing that really stood out to me that I really wish that Cary had was a clinic for physical therapy and chiropractor. Other than that the parking does seem to be a little bit limited than what I'm use to but I will still come when I am around this part of town. read more

I'm a member of the plantation point location (closest to my home) but have been here several times as a guest. The facilities are gorgeous but without fail, every time we come here the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. From the front desk girl with major attitude to the lifeguard who took a boogie board away from my son (after a different employee said we could use it) there's something about this place that makes the employees unbearable. Then they have to nerve to call me and beg for a membership. I might have considered it before but certainly not now. Love the pool, the cafe and the amenities but PLEASE get some new staff who actually care about their jobs and the members. read more

Great facility (clean, new, lots of variety with the equipment, HUGE!) - but I'm not thrilled with the selection of classes. My favorite group fitness classes are dance inspired and I work from 8-5, M-F. For the times I can attend: Monday - 7:00p, Zumba Tuesday - 7:00p, Strike! is the closest option (LifeBarre & Zumba but I can't get there by 5:45) Wednesday - 7:00p, Zumba Thursday - 7:00p, Zumba Friday - 5:45p, Street Vybe (I have to leave work early & rush like crazy to make it to this class) Saturday - 11:15a, Zumba Sunday - 3:15p, Cardio Salsa (right in the middle of the afternoon....) There are tons of Zumba classes at this gym - as long as you really like this format after work, this is the most offered option. Nothing Sunday morning in a dance format and by the middle of Sunday afternoon, I'm busy with other things. Nothing in a dance format before work. My favorite class was Hip Hop which was canceled. If you want strength training classes, yoga, spin, or Zumba - this is your gym. I was told that there would be lots of variety with dance formats when I signed up. This is a great gym - just too expensive since I'm not happy with the class offerings. read more

This gym has exploitative practices and predatory contracts that will force you to pay more money than you're comfortable with and will charge you a lot of "hidden" fees. They will also FORCE YOU to keep paying for your gym membership 30 DAYS after you cancel. Their customer service is terrible and their security is terrible. I have lost 2 bathing suits at this gym while I was taking a shower. DO NOT sign up for this gym. It is a trap and it is a waste of money. Plus the road that it's on is always extremely busy with traffic and there is never any parking, so it's stressful to GET to the gym and stressful to park once you get there. It's enough to make someone give up on going to the gym. I tried explaining to them that I WILL NOT HAVE A JOB NEXT MONTH and I WILL BE MOVING OUT OF THE STATE, and they insisted that they will still charge me another full month's membership, which is almost $100. It's not worth it. Go somewhere else. Also the showers are always really gross and covered in hair, and the pool is closed at least twice a week or it's so clogged up with swim team practices and meets that you won't actually get to use the pool as much as you want to. read more

I loved Lifetime when I was in Texas and was very excited when they were opening this location close to us here in Raleigh. I have been even happier since it has opened. The staff is always friendly, the gym has fantastic facilities and always clean. My daughter is doing great in swimming lessons which we have done several places over the last couple years and this is by far the most organized and has the best parent communication from the instructors. The other part I love is the spa and café. It is easy to grab a quick and healthy snack and not worry about what is in it. The spa has amazing services and the staff is beyond friendly. I had a small problem today with the service I received and they went above and beyond to accommodate me to get it corrected. I have heard some people say it's pricey but I really feel like this is one of those places that you get what you pay for. read more

This is the first time I have ever written a bad review anywhere and I'm doing it because I am so angry about how my three year old child was treated today at the children's center. I decided to go with a close friend and her daughter today to check out the children's program. I will say that this was the biggest draw for us since they have STEM, music, sports, ect, classes for children. Today we wanted the kids to attend the soccer class so my friend told me she usually goes in and waits until the children line up with their activity. The children were called over to the center ranging from about 3 to 13 years of age, there were probably around 30 children all together, it made me a little concerned because no one really had control over the group. It didn't seem like any of the child care workers were very experienced in working with large groups of children. My friend asked if our kids were supposed to have been given a wrist band for soccer when we checked in. He said that yes, they were supposed to have gray ones, and my friend went to get them and we put them on the children. They called the older kids to their activity and then they called our kids soccer group. We lined the kids up. Then they called another group to line up and my son got confused and started going the other direction with the new line. I waited a few seconds but the instructor didn't even notice she was losing one of the kids. I put him back in the line and explained to him he needed to stay with the soccer line and his friend. After that it seemed like they would be headed to go play, not wanting to get in the way, we said good by and left. Fast forward an hour later (how long the class is) we came back for our kids. My friend mentioned that they may not be done yet. I started looking around and saw my son in the large play indoor structure. Confused I called him over, and he seemed super relieved to see me. My friend asked my son where her daughter was and saw she was in the play space for younger children. At this point I started looking at the ages of the kids in the play area where my son was and they were way older than he was. Like 6 to 7 possibly older. So, at this point my son says, "mommy, is it time to go play soccer now??!!" And I asked, honey didn't you already go play soccer? And he said, "no". So I direct my attention towards the child care worker my friend was speaking with and she was saying how her little girl was crying at first. Then I asked her and she explained that my son cried very briefly when we first left. And I asked her why he wasn't taken to soccer and she seemed confused, and then looked surprised he had a wrist band. What business do they have watching children if they can't keep track of them???!! I wasn't notified they kept him out of soccer (probably because they didn't realize that was where he was supposed to be). And my son told me that the big kids had been pushing him when he was going through the tunnels. My son is tall for his age, but who puts a three year old to play on a climbing play area with children that much older than them? And they were not being monitored on the play area when I walked in. Needless to say, I will be joining AE finnely YMCA when we join a gym. At least I know if he's in a class there he will be looked after and safe with children his own age read more

High prices for poor access to marginal equipment and staff. I have been a member of almost every commercial gym in the Raleigh area and I previously had some of the best gym experience with the Lifetime franchise UNTIL they closed the two "non resort" locations in the area leaving only one reasonable option for me to go to. First off, lifetime literally QUADRUPLED my membership dues for me to go to the falls location and ensured me that it would be worth it because of all the additional benefits provided. However after a couple months is it abundantly clear that the people who run lifetime couldn't care less about members actually being able to enjoy a workout for several reasons. 1) literally less than 40% of the entire building is actually dedicated gym space because it is so important to have a salon, spa, chiropractor, cafeteria and kids club 2) the staff admitted to me that there is absolutely no membership cap and with people joining after New Years on top of the other gyms closing, it is literally impossible to keep a workout schedule on track. It is so crowded that people ask you if they can take your weights while you are still using them and if you like the sauna, you will be lucky if there's more than standing room. I cannot express how highly I recommend that people find another gym, because this one makes me hate my workouts. If you don't exercise much you may not notice as much of a problem but coming from someone that averages 7+ visits a week, stay away!!! read more

We joined this gym in December and love it!!! Everything from the customer service, equipment, locker rooms, indoor pool area, kids academy and group classes are great. We changed gyms due to the fact that the gym that we were currently at was dirty and we felt that the place lacked member appreciation. Life Time is the total opposite. It is a bit pricier but well worth it. Do not be fooled by the amount of cars in the parking lot and think that it is always packed. The place is huge and I never have had to wait to get on a piece of equipment. read more

The Falls of Neuse facility is excellent. The day care at this location is second to none, and my daughter loves it. We did have an issue with the sign up (error on Plantation point's behalf). The management here did step in and help correct the issue. In the process though, one of their staff did get rude with my wife and publicly tried to humiliate her, and that has soured what has otherwise been a wonderful experience. Management did respond to our complaints on that experience and it would appear consistent they are listening to their members. read more

Absolutely love this gym! Yes, it is pricey, but I definitely think it is worth it. Even at the busiest hours you can still find parking, find a workout machine, and have space in any workout class. I am a big fan of the workout instructors and classes - especially LP Vinyassa Yoga. My boyfriend thought I was foolish for paying as much as I do for my membership, but they offered an October promotion month where you could bring as many guests as you want - as many times as you want, to participate in the Yoga classes for the month and he fell in love with the gym and is now a member. read more

Thieves, Thieves, Thieves!!!! Both my parents go to this gym and both have had their things stolen from the locker room. Today was perhaps the worst. At 10:56am today, while my mother went outside to her car, some woman stole my mother's entire purse from her locker. My poor mother made the mistake of putting her code in the wrong locker and saying oops I put my code in the wrong locker. Whereupon, the thief heard the code and put it into four lockers until she found mom's purse. A few minutes later my mom was back and the purse was gone. It's so sad - she and my Dad are on a fixed income and the gym is her major expense. I know there are a lot of retirees using this gym so be careful using this place because the $100 a month won't prevent you from having your wallet and identity stolen. Buyer Beware!!!! read more

The gym is, of course, gorgeous and has everything you'd ever want in a gym. Worth the money too if you can afford it But that's not why I'm leaving this review. I'm leaving this review because we need to talk about something very real. If you are going as someone's guest, and have no plans to join yourself, DO NOT GO. They make you sign in with personal contact information. I knew going in they would try to convince me to sign up - they're a buisness. I CAN NOT get rid of these people. I was someone's guest one time back in December. It's April and I'm still trying to shake these people. At first I was getting flooded with emails asking me to sign up. I kept unsubscribing from them. Then, I started getting phone calls. Reps and account managers would call me from the gym with their membership offers. I tried really hard to kindly decline at first, but it got ridiculous. I finally got to the point where as soon as I answered and they started their spiel, I would have to tell them "Look. I already have a membership elsewhere. I'm not interested. I'm not ever going to be interested. Please take me off whatever list you have". Eventually the calls did stop - but they're STILL emailing me. I keep unsubscribing but it's not helping. No means no Lifetime!! read more

We joined the club about two months ago. It's a beautiful facility (probably the most lavish place I've ever belonged to), with impeccable cleanliness both on the fitness floor and in the locker rooms, and a staff that is certainly friendly, if not particularly helpful (more on that later). I give it 3 stars, however, because, like any other large corporate chain, they seem to place a very high priority on extracting as much revenue from the members as possible. The "free trainer session" each new member gets is really a one hour high-pressure sales job that appears to have the goal of first, make getting into shape sound as difficult and technical as trying to navigate a spaceship to the moon and something no one should attempt without expert guidance, and, second, is intended, therefore, to get you to pony up for high priced trainers (as high as $120/hour (!) ), sessions with the in-house nutritionist, etc. Another minor irritant is the clumsily executed IT of the Lifetime Fitness chain. There are at least three or four Lifetime apps in your smart phone's app store, but if you ask any of the staff how the apps work or interface with the equipment, you mainly get a shrug and vague references to the corporate IT staff, or a suggestion that you sign up for some $300 metabolic assessment so that they can set your workout app with the proper heart rates (this despite standard rules of thumb for heart rates based on your age, weight, and activity level that the rest of the fitness industry seems to accept without the need for very expensive personalized assessments--I smell a profit center here). The lack of one integrated app is somewhat irritating. For example, there is one app that has the class schedule and your electronic membership card. Another app interfaces with your cardio machines and your heart rate device. Some of the weight training equipment appears to interface with yet a 3rd app. Why couldn't they just come up with one good app instead of three half-assed ones? Lest you think me a crank, let me add that I have belonged to locally owned places in the past (the old Capital Fitness in Glenwood South, the creaky old Powerhouse Gym that opened in the Warehouse District decades ago when the Warehouse District was nothing but abandoned warehouses), They didn't have all the bells and whistles that Lifetime has, but they sure felt like more of a connection to the community and their members. If you do most of your shopping at mega big-box retailers, you will feel right at home at Lifetime's new North Raleigh palace. Otherwise, you will have a vaguely uneasy feeling of being a cog in a vast machine every time you walk in there... read more

My fiancé and I are not local to this gym. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try this gym. We called before we came and asked about trying the gym for the day. The girl on the phone was very nice and told us it wouldn't be a problem, never mentioning that there was a fee to try the gym. The website even said "Try us for free!" Excited, we drove 40 minutes to Lifetime Fitness. Upon our arrival, the lady at the front desk told us, "We don't have day passes. You can try the gym for $20." We were disappointed and annoyed that we went to the trouble to travel 40 minutes, even calling ahead, to get the shock of using the gym for a total of $40. If I would have been given this information before we got there, it would be a different story. read more

The people that work at the life time cafe I was being ignore even though I said excuse me like 10 times bad service

I joined Lifetime because I thought the facility and services provided was great. I was also interested because of the kids programs.Over the weekend I took my daughter to the outdoor pool. She wanted her best friend to join as well. First time experience for all of us. No less than 10min our experience of a fun filled Sunday was robbed from us. My girls was harassed by the lifeguards multiple times. My girls are middle school age and stand about 5'3 tall. Oh and I hate to state this fact but the girls was the only black kids at that time and I was the only black person. My two girls was the only kids that was asked by the lifeguard manager and staff their age. Which is inappropriate when parents are supervising!! My girls was being middle school girls standing and talking while in the pool. Lifetime Raleigh has no written pool policy but last name Davis(manager) stated that my girls standing 5'3 in 3.5 feet of water-must take a swimming test in order for them to enjoy the pool without me standing right next them.
