Beautiful, incredibly clean and more amenities than gyms in the area. Nico at the cafe is always extra friendly!

This is a typical Y, with free weights, stacks, cardio machines, classes that are included in the membership cost, and a gym with an elevated track. This location also has a pool, though personally I'd trade it for one set of pre-loaded barbells. I'm sure swimmers would disagree. Other bonuses include convenient access to several bus lines and a Whole Foods as well as pilates reformer machines, though I've yet to try those. If there's a better deal for a gym in Boulder, I've not found it yet.

This Y just got a huge remodel and I don't think they deserve it. That money should've gone to a different Y in Northern CO because this is the worst Y in the northern Colorado group. I cannot stand to go into the Boulder why because I know the attitude is gonna be snotty! I have gone in to play pickle ball at the Boulder Y because that's where my friends wanted to go. We called and they said we could come in and play and when we got there and started to play a staff member came in and ran us off. That's the second time that's happened. As with everything in Boulder, the parking sucks at the Boulder YMCA. I've told my friends I'm done with the Boulder Y! I highly do not recommend going to this YMCA especially when there's other YMCA options in the Northern CO group that are low stress, friendly, good parking and just a more pleasant experience.

Parking is plentiful and classes run all day long. Reserve your class ahead online or via their app. When you arrive just check in at the front desk. Stow your items safely in the lockers out front or stow them in a cubby near the restrooms. Don't worry abut filling your water bottle up at home - they have two filtered water fountains. Studio is large, clean and has super fun lights. Workouts are friendly for folks no matter where they're at. Treadmills are gentle on the joints and smart (you can link your Apple Watch up to them for workout tracking purposes). While the coach leads you on your workout journey you choose if you want to walk, jog, run, or sprint. I'm working through a few injuries and it was easy to accommodate the workout by lowering the incline or decreasing the speed when I needed to. If you enjoy data you can wear a heart rate monitor. Values will display up on the screen so you and the coach can track your exertion. Showers and towels make it friendly before or during work. Highly recommend checking them out. Wanna get an amazing founders membership rate? Head on in for a free class this week (up through Thursday) or reach out to them via Instagram.

Unfortunately, I've been a bit disappointed overall. When you first walk in, there are usually several staff members at the front desk. The staff I've interacted with are always polite and helpful when they notice you, though they often appear to be chatting among themselves or on their phones. My main concerns are with the facilities. Most of the TVs are usually set to the same sports channel showing the same game. Occasionally one is on the news without subtitles, and another often seems stuck on the same Bob Ross rerun. Many of the treadmills are frequently out of order, which can be frustrating. As for the massage beds, only one or two are usually working, and even then the pressure is sometimes very weak. I've also noticed that many members don't wipe down equipment after use. It would be helpful if staff could gently remind people of this. Because of these issues, I plan to downgrade to the $10/month membership, as the higher tier doesn't feel worth $35 to me

They have all the equipment I want and most of it works most of the time. They have enough squat racks and dumbbells and cable machines that I barely ever need to wait. I do go at 5am though, so if I had gone at the after work rush, who knows. The sauna is included in the price which is great also. I will say the men's bathroom is generally very dirty and something is always not working, but if people who just be more responsible and not be so self centered and clean up after themselves, it wouldn't be that way. I don't judge based on bathroom cleanliness personally. If I did, it would probably get knocked a few stars, but I'm here to workout so as far as workout equipment and options, it's great! For the cost, I think the options are great. I would highly recommend if you don't want a bougie experience and are there just to workout and not care about aspects other than the equipment they have available. I cannot speak to the higher tier memberships and the things included with those.
