Love this gym. Staff are incredibly sweet & helpful. Small group trainers such as Mary & Jose truly care about your fitness journey & want to help. Cafe has GREAT food & staff who make it a point to get to know you. Locker rooms are very clean & have supplies such as q-tips, hair dryers, spray deodorant, lotion, hairspray, etc. Steam room is wonderful & really feels great after a nice workout. They have a million classes to take at all different times, most of which are included at no extra cost to your membership. We are very happy & feel fortunate to be able to be members at this club. Another gym with hidden polices. Not to mention that during early morning classes like 6AM or 7AM, no professor will be there. It a gym, not a apartment complex. They will hide from you how long before you can freeze your account. They will try to charge you and responsabilize you for their lack of professionalism on that matter when you actually repeatedly asked. Also, if life changes for you and you can't come back to the city, in order to cancel you have to pay for their mistake or keep accumulating bills. The workout floor is not functional. There's only one space with mirrors which is at the weight area that is packed with men. The warmup area has no mirrors and is very awkwardly placed. Even though the City Centre location is a lower tier it is a lot more functional. At least at City Centre there are more mirrored areas so if you want to warm up or do floor exercises and actually look at your form, you're able to do that. With the cost of membership you'd think they'd try to make it more functional for the people who actually work out. If you want more of a spa atmosphere and you don't care about fitness room functionality then this is your gym. Also, the man who did my complimentary orientation was incredibly condescending and rude. I ended up downgrading my membership back to Onyx membership. Gym staff very rigid not flexible to customers / members feedback. This is the same for all Lifetime locations who are trained by corporate. Apparently they have a philosophy of this is the way we are set up period. Lost of money they charge and they are stubborn. Opinions or suggestions actually go in a black hole. I must say this gym has declined exponentially since opening. Absolutely filthy restrooms. The floors have turned grimey. Also you will never see anyone on the gym floor wiping down equipment like at most other high end gyms (Preserve, Fit). Also, lack of oversight on operation of equipment, nuts coming loose, caps popping off,Just really disappointed in the lackadaisical upkeep of this gym. Definitely a managerial problem here. And how about these "trainers"? They interrupt your workouts, take over rack machines, block walk ways and blast their crappy music whenever they want. Truly obnoxious people. read more

Update: So COVID hit and the gym closed. They sent out emails about closing and what they will do when it reopens. I was not expecting much, but was rather surprised that they actually fixed many of the issues during the quarantine! I changed my rating and will continue to update as things get better. The place is much cleaner and the staff generally seems to focus on what they were lacking previous. Mark Stevens is still not visible in the club, but other managers are doing more than enough to make up for his bad service. Nice, lots of classes. Could improve on class times by offering more lunch time and early morning like 5:30-45. Lifetime has improved since I wrote my original review. They've started offering a lot more classes. Barre with Jared is fantastic! Most of the yoga classes are great, especially warrior sculpt and SOL. Suggestion: add an iron to the locker room. Don't go to Baye's yoga class. She use to be my favorite yoga instructor until she started a class by lecturing us. She told us that we cannot be late and shouldn't leave early. I'm sorry but I have to leave a little early to get ready for work or go back to the office. She proceeded to tell us how the instructors don't get paid a lot and how she gets it that kids cry a lot so she understand emergency's. WTF! She lectured us about looking at our iWatch. Don't get me wrong, this club is nice, but I don't think it's worth the price they are charging for it. The locker rooms are too narrow, I've been to other Life Time's and there's always been plenty of room, but this one seems a bit more cramped, compared to the the locker rooms in the Baybrook and City Centre locations. The Cardio Machines have been broken quite frequently and either don't have a date to when their going to be fixed or it's not labeled. I went in one night and saw that there were six treadmills in a row not functioning and I believe three stair master machines that were out of order. The hours really do need to be expanded, especially for those of us who look to work out at "Off-Peak" hours. This gym closing at 9PM on a Saturday I think is unacceptable and I have put in the request to expand the hours when the gym first opened in October, but have heard nothing from it (Positive or Negative). As for the amenities like shutting down the showers at 8:30 because you close at 9 just seems petty to me, if you close at 9, let members use the basic amenities, and not have employees tell as you are about to hop in the shower that the shower is already closed. I understand everyone has a job, and everyone is trying to get out in a reasonable fashion, but if members are paying that $199 a month, I expect to be able to use a shower at 8:45. Also, when I initially signed up for this gym, I was given LT Bucks to spend on services within the first 3 months months. I wanted to use the bucks for some Black Friday promotions they offered and I was told that those did not qualify. Bummer. tl;dr? Fix your machines, Fix your Hours, and allow members to get the best value out of the benefits you've offered to "Founding Members" read more

If you're looking to get your hair done here. Lifetime spa isn't the place. I regret it so much. I went to get a consultation and showed exactly what I wanted. But before I went through with it I explained that I have never dyed my hair, this would be my first time EVER, and that my hair is thin. Because my hair is thin and dark brown, that's why I went in for a consultation to ask if they would be able to get the auburn color without messing my hair up and no damage would be done. Well the dye was left on longer at the top creating a orange color and the rest of my hair was honestly closed to a red. She tried toning the top to match the rest of my hair but it didn't work so she said to come a couple of days later and get it done. Well I went and she "fixed it". Honestly my hair is just red at this point and the ends are a darker red. Not the Auburn brown that I wanted. Also was told it would be $85 for color and $140 for color and dye but we never did the cut. But was charged $85 plus $30 for using more dye which was not my fault and wasn't told prior that if I mess your hair up and have to use more dye you'll have yo pay for it?? Just over all terrible experience. I expressed this to the salon manager and she did not help. I now have to go yo another salon and pay $150 to fix the color. I'm writing this two weeks after opening. Five stars for potential, but only three stars until they get the bugs out. Start with the cons: 1) A real potential dealbreaker is that they have dozens upon dozens of cardio machines, but not a single one of them has a "lip" where you can safely put a Kindle or iPad or book to read. This is fine if you want to watch tv (most of the machines have sophisticated screens), and maybe no one reads any more? But it's a deterrent to trudging through an important part of the workout if you don't want to sit through regular tv programming. Heck, some of the machines there isn't even a place where you can rest a larger iPhone without worrying about knocking it to the ground. Some other minor annoyances with the cardio (the treadmills don't have a heart rate monitor, the stair climbers don't count stairs, the software has a bug that prevents a workout attuned to your heart rate), but the design flaw is huge. A lot of the stations have no place to safely rest your phone. 2) Similarly, it's insane that on a gym floor larger than a football field, there's one single water-fountain station, with uncooled water, and not hands-free. Takes forever to fill up a quart bottle. Want to buy a bottle of water? One floor up on the other side of the complex. 3) They've added a third wipe station, but there are parts of the gym that are thirty yards away from the nearest wipe station and similarly far away from a garbage can. So lots of machines go uncleaned, and one can imagine that it's going to get disgusting pretty quickly if they don't fix that. 4) Would you believe there isn't a single digital clock displaying seconds? Good luck timing yourself. Some analog clocks. The two digital clocks are several hours off, so are completely useless. 5) The part of the gym with dumbbells and benches is the one part that's too crowded. (Weight machines are generally available, and there seems to always be free barbells, bosu balls, TRX (several are still waiting to be unwrapped if the four they have set up are somehow in use), yoga mats, cardio machines of your choice, etc.) But it's sometimes hard to find a free bench, and even at 5:30 am on a Tuesday, all of the sub-15 pound weights by the benches were in use. (There are several other racks of light weight barbells on the other side of the gym, but no place to sit and use them; they seem to be designed for a class that uses the treadmills.) 6) You're supposed to use two apps. The Life Time app will have your membership card ready for scanning, tell you hours, let your make reservations. It's functional. The MyWellness app is incompatible with half of the stations in the gym and a frustrating mess that doesn't make any allowances for someone recuperating from an injury and wanting to tailor their workout accordingly. I ended up having to pay $60/year for a third app (Fitbod) that does what the MyWellness app is supposed to do. But it's disappointing because there are all these sophisticated electronic displays on these expensive weight machines, and they're a lot of wasted potential. 7) Locker room feels elbow to elbow. Not a tragedy, but didn't expect to have to fight for bench space when changing. And only two toilets and two urinals in the men's locker room. Generally clean, and plenty of nice showers (haven't used the steam facilities), but the ratio of dressing space to gym floor space is surprisingly small compared to gyms a fraction of the price. (They do have a special family locker room.) 8) Not a big deal, but expect some traffic getting out of the parking lot during rush hour or when the church is in session. I've always been able to find convenient parking. 9) Also not a big deal, but the layout means you'll be taking lots of stairs. But stairs are good for you! 10) Buyer beware: they'll sign you up for a worthless magazine that you have to affirmatively cancel or get billed for. That they're constantly pushing CBD products makes me skeptical of everything else they're selling. Hope there aren't other hidden charges; we'll see. Pros: Lots of amenities. Very parent-friendly. Lots of classes and class space (though few classes in the weekday afternoons). A gorgeous work lounge that I haven't taken advantage of yet. A cafeteria and a coffeeshop and a salon. Two outdoor pools. Lots of tvs (though none of them were showing the World Series for some reason). Once they get the kinks out, it will be great (and I suspect the crowds will die down by February) but there's no guarantee they're going to fix some of these problems, and the place is priced for perfection, which isn't quite there yet. read more

I am a founding member and wanted to wait a month or so to write the review, to see if they could work some kinks out. Unfortunately, many items haven't gotten better. As others have brought up, the locker rooms are ridiculously small for the volume of folks, not to mention only TWO bathroom stalls in men's area. They did have one water station for water bottle fill up but they took it out. While the cafeteria, pool, bar area are nice, way, way too much space given to the work/computer area. It doesn't get used as much and it really doesn't make sense to devote a significant part of the space to folks that want to conduct work at a gym. My biggest complaint is that they don't have the bandwidth for folks to do streaming (Netflix,etc) while working out. Most times you can't even download and when you can, it is interrupted. I asked the front desk about it, and they said there was nothing they could do. Well yes, they could boost the capacity! Add to that, what some other folks have pointed out, the lack of a place to put your device on some of the screens is ridiculous in this day and age. I want to start off by saying the saleswoman that helped us when we signed up, was just that, a salesperson. She did a bad job at data entry (made basic mistakes resulting in the incorrect address being entered) & instead of putting both of our information in, she only put 1 person, even though we signed up as a pair. I had to input all my info, by myself. Then when I reported her mistake and the fact the that duffle bag (that we were to receive for signing up early) had not yet arrived, likely due to her mistake, she told me to go in and fix it. She had terrible customer service and I would not ever deal with her again. Lifetime fitness needs to find better quality salespeople, especially for their high end stores. If it wasn't for her, I would give this place 5 stars. This brand-new Lifetime Fitness Diamond club is gorgeous. I've been an avid gym-goer for a long time and I can honestly say this is the nicest gym I've been to. The gym has a lot more than I need but should satisfy even the most diverse fitness routines. My girlfriend and I joined as founding members and we first attended 2 days after the grand opening. The gym wasn't too busy, yet, which I'm sure will change. The equipment was high quality and there was lot and lots of it. I like how the gym had large open spaces but it seemed to be sectioned out so different areas were able to cater to different activities. There are rooms for pilates, cycling, a double basketball court, huge area for free weights and lots of others. The pools were incredibly impressive with lots of seating & cabanas. Even the view at the pool was amazing. We have yet to explore all of the areas there, but in due time, we will check it all out. I highly recommend this gym (even with the high price), its awesome. I hate to see so many people complaining about the way they were treated as well as the Customer Service. For my experience, I had an amazing time. I had Kayla help me and give me a tour of the facility. I absolutely fell in love. Everywhere was so clean, especially the locker rooms. The equipment is up-to-date and clean as well. I also noticed that there was not too many out of order machines as you may see at other gyms. I also love the crowd at the gym. It has a nice mix of ages as well as races too. Also people are in there to take care of business. You don't see a bunch of people on their phones taken a bunch of videos are any of that social media nonsense. LOL! They're constantly having staff walk the floor in case weights may need to be re-racked or even trash was on the floor. I even saw at one point they were dusting the equipment. It seems as though this place really takes a lot of pride in the image of the gym, and I love it. This was my first time joining a gym since Covid. I was once a member of 24 hour fitness for over five years, but that ship has since in sailed . I'm happy to be a member of Life Times, and I cannot wait to enjoy more perks of being a member. Two words: women's bars. Each platform has a 20 kg bar (men's bar) and a 15 kg (women's bar). This makes a huge difference! All other gyms I go to usually have zero. I'm happy that Lifetime has considered this and caters to the needs of all of its clients! On top of that, there are 10 squat racks and platforms. Occasionally there is a class that takes up several of these. I think it would make more sense for them to alternate them/share so that they only need half of what they usually use, but this is only a problem a few times during the week. There are tons of cardio machines, weights, kettlebells, bands, etc. They have TRX and medicine balls galore. Locker rooms are very nice with self locking lockers, soap/conditioners, hair dryers, and more. I love this gym and feel pretty lucky I get to go here! read more

The new gym is nice. They have a lot of amenities, pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, cafeteria, bar, salon and office space. Basically one stop shop. They have reasonable guest pass policies. Better than other comps For the gym- lots of smart equipment, often the floor and equipment is dirty though. They need more trash cans next to the wipes on the walls. Eucalyptus towels would be nice like equinox has. They have them in the yoga room just not main floor. The stretching area is pretty awkward and it's inconvenient you have to go get a mat and put it back each time cutting into your schedule if your in a tight time crunch. Sauna, steam rooms, and hot tub in each locker room. I would suggest they have more cleaning staff in the locker rooms though. There's often hair everywhere. Also LED mirrors for women doing their make up. And stools in the shower for shaving so we don't slip and fall. This is something I miss from equinox. I emailed the manager my suggestions recently so we will see if that changes. I get the feeling others have requested these types of things. I'm sure as a new gym they are rolling out new ideas and improvements. The bar and cafeteria is nice and reasonably priced. You can even go to the app and place a food or coffee order in advance and pick it up. If you are working in the office space they will bring your food over there too. Salon is great prices and they have some good talent. So far I've gotten my nails and hair done there and I was happy with the services. If you sign up you can just do it online. When I got there the membership lady just sent me a link to sign up anyways. The yoga room is a different vibe than most that isnt attractive to me. It's more dungeon feeling to me so I typically don't use that amenity which is a number. I used to yoga once or twice a week. read more

Love this location of life time. I usually go to the one in Cinco ranch but since we moved to houston and this the is closet location to home. Facility is very clean and staffs are very friendly. The only thing I don't like about this one is their outdoor pool ( great for summer) but during the winter it's hard/impossible for swim but overall love it. Love their bar tho:-) read more

I tried the new Dynamic Stretching offering and not only did Nina's bodywork help my physicality so much, her attentiveness to my injury led me to work on some deep rooted inner-child healing that was dormant for years. I cried, it was so magical - all while being provided substantial treatment for my unique body type. I am hyper mobile, so not all stretches or workouts help me like others. I love it here! They have two amazing pools outside that are heated so open throughout the year. The workout equipment is clean and I have yet to see anything broken. I love how clean the overall center is- each time I have been there I have seen multiple team members cleaning. I do not have experience with the classes- as I have not taken any yet- but my husband is in love with the spin classes. During the summer months, it is so amazing to spend a day at the pool in one of the little cabanas that they have. read more

I would like to provide some feedback and comments on your company's service. The club and personal at your company has been mostly positive. The workers are friendly and personable. My issue is how inflexible your corporate policy is in regards to member relations. I have been a paying member for over 6 years and currently paying for multiple memberships. A year ago, I upgraded my membership from Onyx all club access to Diamond tier. I did this for two reasons; 1) I work downtown and your company had acquired a gym close to my work 2) y'all were opening more diamond level locations around town close to my work 3) I travel often to Seattle and there was a another club I could attend in Seattle whenever I visited. All was well until your company opened up an additional location that was also close to my workplace. Upon open I attempted to go to this facility only to find out I did not have access because you went and created a brand new tier "Diamond Signature". The first in the country. After which I went back to the previous diamond gym I used to attend in the galleria. Only to find out that location had also upgraded to a signature tier. When I inquired further I was told that current members of that location were upgraded to Signature as well and were grandfathered into their current rates. I was not because that was not my "home" gym although every other diamond member basically got upgrades in Houston. So now in order for me to use my membership, I would have to travel outside of the state to attend a Diamond gym. To add salt to the wound I was told that a founders rate given to new members who pre registered for the newer gym. As I was already a member and at the time I was not even given that opportunity or even knew of such rates as I was already at the highest tier the year before. So instead of paying my current rate or the founders special, I now have pay a 2nd increased rate and a 100 dollar change fee because I changed levels. Please explain why I should continue to pay a company with such business tactics that each time they open a new tier they ignore where they have forsaken current members. I explained this to the GM at the new location only to hear that they would have to contact corporate to get approval. After months of no word back I had to go and ask again at the location. Only to hear the GM tell The account manager to tell the member. "Tell him we will look into it but yea we aren't going to upgrade him". Your GM was not aware that he was on speaker and I had heard the entire conversation. So after which I contacted customer relations to get clarity on the situation. After explaining all this. They stated it's up to the GM of the club to make any adjustments to my rates or membership levels. So now I get he said she said and the one stuck in th middle is a paying customer that is basically being lied to on who can make the final decision. I currently pay for 3 lifetime time members. Why would I continue doing this with such a dishonest and non customer service centric company?? The final response from the Corp office was they would waive then 100 fee for me to pay them more because they made a new tier and that they had no way to recall the previous rate they offered their previous customers because it's not possible. So end of the day yes pay us the higher rate we will charge you more still each month and not make things right. Way to go lifetime you know how to keep a loyal customer of 6+ years!! At this point I have engaged with multiple Account managers / GMs / customer relations folks for over 3 months and I still have no resolution or response. Instead I get the default answer, we would love to help you and provide you with wonderful customer service just pay more! Buyer beware! read more

i'm shocked to see only 3 stars for this facility. Everyone at Lifetime is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I recently joined after three years. We were members of at lifetime at Greenway but decided to join the downtown location this time. From the stuff that checks-us in, to the trainers, to everyone that keeps the locker rooms clean, the experience has been nothing but amazing. And we are welcomed by name each time not only by the soffit lifetime, but also by the spa employees. I would recommend this place hands-down. Only a few names I know, CJ, Lia, Shelby, Guillermo, Stephanie, Jared, Fernando and James. all amazing. read more

I love this gym as I spend most of my days here. I do my work in the office space. I eat lunch in the life café. I also work out here, I do more work and laying out by the pool than I do work out. This is my local vacation space. I love it here. I recommend for anyone who wants to have a local vacation to get a membership here. I've been a member of Life Time for the better part of a decade at the Lake Houston and City Center clubs. I've always been really happy with the amenities and even though it is a costly membership, it was always worth it. This club has been extremely disappointing. It's the closest one to our home, so we upgraded the membership (and it was a pricey upgrade) to join this one. Despite the extra expense, the club is missing a number of amenities I've come to associate with Life Time. For instance, there is no indoor pool, no outdoor hot tub, no unisex sauna, etc meaning that if you cannot unwind from your workouts with a member of your family or friend who is not of the same gender. Also, the water fountains are almost absent and the ones that do exist do not have water bottle spouts. Separately, the locker room hot tub is almost always out of order, the equipment is broken for days on end, entire lockers and sinks and toilets don't work correctly. The classes have minimal offerings and are disorganized, crowded, short and are frequently cancelled at the last minute. The way it is laid out is like a 24 hour fitness, too. It's all one big floor with the equipment jammed up next to each other like legos. This would be acceptable in an urban gym if they weren't charging above and beyond the normal rates for membership. This tier is billed as the very best the chain has to offer and it is truly the lowest end version but with updated paint colors and a coworking space. I think we will be leaving Life Time unless something changes. read more

I joined Life Time Greenway based on the promise that the experience and amenities would exceed those at Equinox. They do not. From miserable parking (the gym shares a garage with Lakewood church), to low-quality towels in the locker room and bad class times, this gym does not compare in any way to Equinox. I came to lifetime fitness after going to planet fitness for the last couple of years thinking this is a higher end more professional gym. The locker room attendant was telling me to pick up my own towels off the ground making silly remarks about my weight. I came here to lose weight and be in a positive environment and all I've encountered is rude staff and some guy who claims he's a manager laughing at my concerns and siding with "justin" the towel guy whose making fun of my figure and saying I should go to another gym if I didn't like what I was hearing. Tom the operations manager was very condescending and unprofessional he made me feel very unwelcome when I came to him with my concerns. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever encountered. I wouldn't even come back if they offered me a free one year membership! read more

Giving three stars because the locker rooms are not as clean as I would expect of a "luxury" gym this facility has been touted as. I go later in the evening so maybe it's better earlier in the day, but I would expect there to be some intermiten cleaning throughout the day. Things I've observed are large clumps of hair throughout the locker room on the floor, tampon papers on the ground, and black sticky spots where they need to mop. At this point I haven't even felt comfortable taking a shower in the locker room and head straight home instead. read more

Convenient gym if you live or work nearby, otherwise it's not with the $$. At the rates they charge, the staff should be more customer service oriented. Some of the staff have no people skills at all. Even the lower salaried towel guys are rude for no reason. Are they trained to be rude and snobbish? Why? We are paying their salaries. I also noticed they cater to a certain type. I respect their preference but please inform your customers so we can go somewhere else. This is a huge city with plenty of gyms. read more
