Not happy with the customer service. Dealt with many rude employees that makes it seem like they are doing you a favor. If I'm paying over $100 per month for a membership, the least I expect is excellent customer service. Don't talk back to me and make it seem like I am the issue. At the end of the day I am a customer and you will treat me with respect. Yesterday I accidentally spilled a drink in the hallway and notified one of the cleaning man about it. I witnessed this employee huff and puff and shoot his hands up in the air as if he was pissed off. Honestly this is just one of the many incidents I've noticed of lack of friendliness and customer service. Not sure if I'll continue business here. There are plenty of gyms that offer better services and good equipments at more affordable rates. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I'm currently here visiting family and needed a place to work out. Mind you I am stationed in Fort Bragg. So I called to see if I could get a day pass to work out for the week that I'm here. They hit me with a $25 a day fee. You have got to be kidding me. A month membership is $80 so for them to charge me $25 for a single day is absurd. Disgusting to say the least. I am not the type to throw around military benefits for preferential treatment that's not me but I think $25 a day is ridiculous especially given Golds Gym and 24 hour fitness have free passes for circumstances such as mine. I go to lifetime 4 or 5 times a week, and I am constantly impressed. The employees are always kind and helpful. There are endless amounts of machines to use. Also, my sister goes maybe once or twice a week, but when she goes she has a blast doing the spin classes. They last for about an hour and have fun interactive trainers. The pool is great with attentive life guards. Sure the cafe and salon are a bit pricy, but you don't have to go to them. Also you get a 25% off coupon for the cafe after a spin class so that makes the price about average for a good meal. Lifetime is better than any other gym I have been to by far. read more

I show up to take a look at the facilities and get pricing recently. The front desk people seemed extremely confused that I wasn't there with a current member. They had to ask me a few times even. Someone comes out and takes me into an office. He asks me what I'm looking for and he jots down the two things I mentioned. Then, I'm asked if I have any other questions. I told him I wanted to discuss price and he stated a price and also informed me that they will be requiring a $500 membership fee starting next Monday so I should make my decision fast. (Not sure if this is true or a sales tactic). I really felt like this guy didn't want me there and was trying to get rid of me. I asked him for a tour and he starts walking up stairs, but I had my 3 year old with me (who doesn't walk up stairs as fast as an adult) and was left behind. No dialogue or anything to make a potential client feel welcomed. The facilities are nice, however I will be asking for a generous discount on order to help me make a decision to go there because of the customer service. read more

I attend for the pool (mainly), but will run on the treadmills and use the weights and other equipment from time-to-time. I have access to a fitness gym at my work for $30/month; I pay $90/month, because they have a pool - a $60 premium. I try to get there early so I can get my own lane. Many times, the swim team will kick me out of my lane and the water aerobics instuctor will also try to boot me out of my lane (very rudely, I might add). There is a general section of the pool they can use without kicking me out of a lane. Many times they will rent out the pool for class parties and have a DJ that plays the music way too loud and many times with inappropriate songs played. The cleanliness really depends on time of day and who is doing the cleaning. I have seen them cleaning on Saturday mornings with a good rinse to the showers and steamroom. I used to see the life guards clean (scrub) the spa - I do not see that any more. Many times there are band-aids floating in the pool. Children and teens are allowed in the locker room, which after so much BSA Youth Protection Training (YTP) seems akward. They do have a family locker-room they could use. read more

This gym is the most money hungry establishment with the most rudest customer service reps. I have downgraded account I have requested cancellations and they are like the greasy used car salesmen which will purposely give excuses after excuses to not let u cancel and keep assessing charges. I will never recommend this organization will ensure my company relo reps never suggest this membership and will ensure by word of mouth what a joke this organization is. It's no wonder membership is down hard up for money is not a surprise the way they are losing members. And tell your trainers to get real jobs and lay off the steroids. read more

DO NOT give them your credit card. The membership staff has an attitude, not a good one, and all they care about is how they can grab more money. They remind me of used car salesmen. You need to negotiate the price, everyone I know has a different rate, I pay double what my friend is paying even though we joined few weeks apart. They make you sign some staff electronically, then they charge you for 2 more months after you cancel membership. They advertise no contract, but they charge you anyway. They are dishonest, rude, uncaring, and greedy. This location is also extremely dirty, the water pressure is so low it takes 5 minutes to wash hands. I canceled my membership and will not go back. That being said, the staff in child care and the cafe are nice, they are an exception to this place. read more

I have been a charter member of this gym and loved it until recently. I would normally work out around 3 -4:40 which avoided the crowds and it was relatively nice. Great space, great equipment, super clean. But lately all of that has changed. The aerobics rooms are packed and the music blasts so that you can't even hear your own music when doing sit-ups just outside the room! I complained about the noise level, but was told it was in guidelines. Clearly is wasn't! Now I work out early evenings and it is horrible just like on the weekends. There are pre-pubescent kids running everywhere with absolutely NO parents around. Mom is in a class and dad is in the steam room for on the treadmill while junior and juniorette are running amuck playing on equipment instead of working out. They are out of control! I have asked numerous time for someone on the floor to stop the kids, but no one would help! No one! I have scolded some of the kids which sent them packing, but the next day is the same thing. This is not a gym, but a free-for-all babysitting palace. I don't pay $80+ a month to work out with teenagers! The management is not help at all and all they want is your money. I cancelled my membership today and was told I would be charged and additional month because I did not cancel on the 1st of the month. I cancelled on the 6th and they expect me to believe it takes them 60 days to cancel a membership? No way. So, I filed a complaint with the BBB and with the Attorney General's office. The contract states 'the General Terms Agreement states that all cancellation requires written termination by notice. Members will have active membership and pay for 30 days following cancellation receipt. ' I received my cancellation receipt moments after canceling, so I will not pay for more than 30 days. This place is out of control on the workout floor, in the aerobics rooms, in the over crowded yoga studio and in the outrageous pricing and constant pitching for you to buy their products in the cafe. If your married with kids and want to fake working out and have a place for your uncontrollable, unpainted kids to run wild, by all means, join this gym. You'll fit right in! read more

Location extremely unhelpful when trying to cancel . We were told that the member had go in in person (for handicapped member). When the member tried to cancel the Saturday morning 02/21/2015 the desk help informed to come in on a week day. When asked for a form or process to cancel, nothing was available. We called corporate 8884305433, and Corporate asked us to cancel by emailing memberrelations@lifetimefitness.com. The Location NEVER EVER allowed us to cancel by email. This place will tell you anything to join. The salesmen are so pushy and tell you things that are not apart of the "sign up special". The personal training department is a joke. Everyday I receive emails begging me to come back and join. NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE. I paid $96 a month for this place. Sure, its beautiful and has a lot to offer, but the locker rooms are quite disgusting. Trash is overflowing, bathrooms are gross, locker rooms have dirt and stuff carved into the wood and the gym equipment needs some cleaning. There are no wipes or disinfectant to clean the machines before or after your use. Unless your "average" height - the machines won't work for you. The seats don't adjust and if they do they need some major WD40. Ive spoke with managers many times. Everyone seems to give me a run around. I made an appointment for the free "Move it session" they offer. The trainer called 25 minutes prior to my appointment and cancelled with no apologies. I sign up the next week with another trainer and show up. Guess what.... "sorry they took you off my schedule. walk over there to that desk and see if someone can help you." Now since I've complained and emailed the General Manager - everyone seems to be emailing me and giving me "free" sessions. NO THANKS. I was a member for 9 days and it was the worst ever. The only somewhat decent thing was the pool and hot tub (when its working). Please if your checking this facility out, do your research. The outside may be gorgeous, but the inside is absolutely a joke and filthy. read more

I am so sad that I am writing a negative review on the CInco Ranch LIfetime since I attended this facility for about nine years. However, the recent decline in service quality; the getting away with overcharging me; and host of other shenanigans has forced me to bring to light many issues with this facility. First, the new staff they have hired within the last three years are completely rude and uncooperative. From people stealing stuff in the locker rooms to harrassment, the staff just does not care nor wants you to bother them. As a result, I have made efforts to go to different Lifetime Fitnesses while I was in Houston because this one cannot get its act together. Second, they overcharge way too much and are still trying to charge even more. Apparently, there is a lot of demand for this Lifetime due to many people moving to Cinco Ranch. As a result, they have jacked up the monthly rates for some people from $67 to $98 or higher. There is no cost justification for this increase; they are just price guaging which I am sure is illegal. Finally, lost of shady and weird people show up at this gym and because the staff does not enforce nor follow the rules, they are going to stay here. I am 27 year old white collar professional and it takes a lot for me not having to get into a fight with one of the members here. I do not recommend people to go to this Lifetime. read more

Stay away from here, if you don't want to get ripped off. I went in recently to check on my account , as I thought they were overcharging me. There was a woman there who laughed in my face when I threatened to cancel, and then she started shouting at me in front of other customers. Very unprofessional, and all they want is your money. I'm a member here because there are a FEW group classes I love but, honestly, this place really sucks. The women's locker room (and the upstairs restroom) is always filthy! It's rare to find toilet paper in the stalls and there are more broken lockers than functioning ones. Group fitness is great for the most part. Pilates is good EXCEPT that the yoga people control the temperature in that part of the club and yoga is free while we pay extra for Pilates! Makes no sense to me.... They also need to keep kids OUT of the locker rooms! read more

The club is doing repairs and all the cardio area is closed, when talking to the personal on the floor and the manager their suggestion was to go to another location, the planing should have been done better and leave some of the cardio machines available to the members. The club needs to improve their customer service big time!! telling the members that they can just go to another gym is disrespectful to the customers, we obviously join this gym, because is the one close to our house!!! read more

The Cinco Ranch location is very poorly managed. The staff at the location have no desire to be at work. One of the staff member used plenty of curse words and used F.... word in front of my 12 years old son. Totally unacceptable. I called corporate office but corporate took complaint but I was expecting call back from corporate office but they don't care. They think they are very big and consumer have no choice. This is the same attitude some big companies had very years ago but either they don't exist now or their business is down to minimum. The night staff do not want to be there. They are mad. The facility is left at night in the hands of few very irated employees. Their job is to make sure to do everything possible to run customers off. Please start community blogs to make sure we all bicott the location. Please post this in every community blogs in the communities around the lication. Great gym. Manager, Chris, is wonderful and truly cares about each individual that walks through the doors of LTF. Most reviews that are negative are those complaining of the gym being "pricey" but it's worth it. Unlimited amount of equipment, amazing GF classes, wonderful PT's, friendly staff, indoor and outdoor pool, saunas, nice locker rooms, hot tubs, basketball courts, racquetball courts, cycling classes, run clubs etc. Lifetime has it all. We always have deals for new participants, and there are different plans you can sign up for. When I was in college, I only was charged $10 a month which was great. We have hired a lot of new staff members the past couple of years so most of the negative reviews are incorrect. Try it out, and see for yourself! :) read more

Staff was very nasty to me and had the "power trip" thing going on. I would've considered signing up (my family too) but after being treated so poorly by one of the member team leads and especially the general manager, a Chris Anderson, i will now never join that gym. And, I advise others not join either. Too many issues with poor staff, only wanting your money, disregard for good customer service, and more. There are plenty of better options in the nearby area, so please check those out instead, and as well, you may just save yourself a lot of money and headache. read more

This place is not worth its money. When they signed up they mentioned the lap pool is available all the time and no big rush. That used to be true until last few months. They reserve 4 out of 5 lanes for training. They also spill over to the fifth lane. Non-training members are at loss. I complained few months back to the manager and GM and had no response. Tried some other gyms in the Katy area before coming to Lifetime. I was concerned about the cost. However, now that I am a member of Lifetime, I work out more and participate in a lot more group fitness, making the additional cost completely worth it. You WANT to work out when you go here. It doesn't even compare to my experience at my last gym. I am so glad I decided to invest in the membership - it is worth every penny. Yoga with Heidi or Mario is AWESOME. read more

This gym was great until I had my child. Facilities are nice and fancy. The problem is, I don't think it's kid's friendly (at least for young children). Regardless of all the child activities they claim to have, they don't seem to really care about young children. During the summer, the indoor pool can only be used for a couple of hours for family swimming. Sometimes it's just too hot outside for very young children and you don't have the choice of using the indoor pool if it's not opened at that moment for family swimming. I have also tried using the child care center to work out for just 30 min and I've noticed they just let kids cry without attempting to soothe them. In my case, I have a 2 year old and I don't feel comfortable with her crying out for 10 min at a strange place. They call you if cries child cries for more than ten min. They have a room for kids between 1 and 4. Their ratio is 12 kids to 1 care taker which to me is not enough. Specially for very young children. I've also heard other mothers complaining about this issue. I just don't use the gym because I don't feel I can trust them with my child, and to me, that is a big issue and a waiste of money. If you don't have young chidren or don't mind about them crying out at the childcare center while you work out. This might be the right place for you. It certainly isn't for me any more. read more

No Security for members! We have had a family membership for over 4 years because we felt it was a safe family atmosphere; however, a recent incident proved us wrong. While in a dance fitness class a large man in his late 30's and a girl in her early 20's had their phones out in the back of class. Two staff members were alerted and both said they couldn't do anything. Think twice before sending your teenage daughter to work out- my gift to you. read more

This review is for the Cinco Ranch Lifetime Fitness Summer activity camp in the greater Houston area. The brochure lists all kinds of fun things which the kids actually do not get to do. The person in charge for the summer activity center is Keely who mentions of a hour by hour daily itinerary with activities which dose not exist and is not followed. The barely 18 old counselors are in charge of the kids. The kids stay in the basketball court most of the day and try to keep themselves busy on their own. The center keeps 4 boxes in that room with incomplete items making it impossible to play a board game, or do a craft for example. I have not seen any kids near any of those boxes ever. Wednesday they take the kids to field trip. Rest of the days it is the same boaring routine. In summary this camp is run by a bunch of 18 year olds where the kids are responsible to keep themselves occupy almost all day long other than 2 hrs of swimming and 1 hr of rock climbing everyday. Complete waste of money. read more

PAY MORE GET LESS. I joined in 2008 for the hot tub area . The water fall in the tubs allowed you to reach the top of shoulders and upper middle portion of the back and both tubs were open all the time. The first thing to go was access to both tubs they went on rotation with only one being open at a time which meant more people cramped in one tub. Just got back from club where I found out they are sealing up the waterfalls in the hot tubs. This action was tried at this location a few years after I joined in '08 so many people complained that the plan was stopped. Now they are at it again. When asked why, we got many different answers from "It's too much to maintain" ( the earlier excuse) and the latest is they did an air quality study and there was an air quality issue due to the chemicals in the pool. GIVE ME A BREAK. If this is true, which I doubt, the thing to do is add fans or some other circulation devices to improve the quality of air not DOWN GRADE the AMENITY. But, it's a sure win excuse because when you say health issue everybody falls in line like SHEEP. When I ask if I was going to get a reduction on my monthly membership fees of course the answer was NO. I also had 24/7 access to the ADA regulation bath in the family area but a couple of years ago they started closing it down at a early time like 8pm. Reason was another lie two teenagers were caught doing it in one of the rooms. The more I thought about this the more I realized that they just wanted to clean up and close that area they didn't care about the people with handicaps who might want to go after all the kids were done and you didn't have to wait 10 minutes for the handicap regulated bath that was being used by non-handicap. We have been members for 7 years and when we joined we were told by their reps that "YOU ARE LOCKED IN AT THAT RATE FOR AS LONG AS YOU STAY A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING" Well Life Time I have been a member in good standing but you HAVE NOT BEEN A REPUTABLE BUSINESS. My fees have going up significantly but I didn't say anything because the Hot Tubs were really different from anything that was offered at other clubs. I'm saying something now..... YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER CLUBS. UPDATE...... Just open my mail. guess what? You guessed it MY FEES HAVE GOING UP AGAIN. If you're looking at this club BE AFRAID..... BE VERY AFRAID. I've been a member of Lifetime For 6 years. We loved it when we joined, they do have excellent facilities, but we have watched it steadily decline under the new management team. My kids used to love the workers in the childcare, but it's gotten to a point where we'd rather go at separate times rather than put them in childcare. The cleanliness has also suffered, and the best group fitness instructors have left as well. We cancelled our membership this month, which is a shame because they do have the best facilities in Katy. If you just want a workout facility, then this place is great but don't expect good customer service. read more

Let me start out by saying the facilities at this gym are first class. However, this is where the pros for Lifetime begin and end. The staff are not helpful and can be down right rude. The overall theme is to overcharge the customer. They say they do not have contracts but will automatically bill you two additional months no matter the reason for canceling. Additionally, the training staff is not helpful and shows no real interest in helping its members. The are just trying to get you to spend even more money for private training. Otherwise they could care less. Additionally, the gym is always too crowded. It takes 5 to 10 minutes just to find a parking place. Then, you have to fight for the machine you want. This is no way to workout. I was hoping that this place would be my permanent gym for years to come, but no such luck. I would recommend looking into the YMCA or 24 hour fitness very close by. I'm new to the facility, but I am not pleased with their pricing (or lack thereof). We were told one price, then that seemed to have changed. If you're not honest with me (upfront), why should I believe anything that you say? My money is hard to come by and I do not want to waste it unecessarily. My health and family are important to me and that's why we joined as a family. Fair is fair. Be up front with everyone, and there should be SET PRICES. I can see having specials every now and then. I feel that even though they claim to not have contracts, your money that you are agreeing to should be in writing UP FRONT (not behind the scenes on a computer that you are required to sign. I don't like hassling salesman. Overall, the gym facility is nice, but I shouldn't have to chase you down to get direct answers when it comes to me paying MY money. I do think it's overpriced. I paid up front and requested that my credit card NOT be on file for ANYTHING. If my card is charged for anything, it will certainly be a problem. I'm trying to make an informed decision, but I don't like the way things have started out so far. read more

Notice all the good ratings are from years ago... Don't go near this place and definitely DO NOT give them your credit card number. They claim my husband signed up for a series of personal training classes, two days after he broke his foot. Right. Then they said "oh anyone can use them and they are good for a year so we'll see if you can use them." Then after months pass and it's too late to dispute on the credit card, they say "oh, sorry. that trainer is gone and we can't really verify what happened so we get to keep your money." Totally unethical and horrid place. And no, we didn't dispute legit charges... I paid for some pilates for myself and didn't use them all. My loss. But to have to fight this place for so long and then find out they really knew what they were doing all along (getting it to a place where I'd have to take them to court to get my money), well, they're pretty clever after all. I tried corporate offices, but they couldn't do anything other than ask the Cinco Ranch manager to respond to me. She couldn't find the time to do so, not over four months of complaints. They even put in writing they would refund it... but that was just another stall tactic. Go to the YMCA, where they have great facilities and ethics. read more
