I love this gym, but you have to know what time to go! Visit between 6pm-8pm and you're gonna be working out with a huge crowd (which can be a lot of fun in a group fitness class). Visit during the day and have your run of the place! Friday nights are usually full of families. Lifetime also offers a sauna, whirlpool and two swimming pools. What's not to love? read more

This place is a joke. Only two bathrooms in the family locker room and if you have a kid (girl) that needs to go to the bathroom bad, they won't allow you to take an infant (boy) child into the opposite sex bathroom even in an emergency when the two bathrooms in the family restroom are being used. Also tried to use my Lt bucks on an art class. Went in twice, emailed and called multiple times to get her signed up and nobody was able to help me. Finally showed up for the class and the teacher didn't even show up. When a childcare employee was told she had to teach the class, she rolled her eyes and complained in front of us about having to do it. Talk about awkward. Glad I had Lt bucks because I would be more upset if I actually paid for the class. Maybe they should do less cold calling and put more effort into the problems they have. Lifetime has everything you need. Whether if you are a body builder or just someone who wants to lose weight, they have all the appropriate equipment. There's also a variety of classes offered and you can play most if not all indoor sports here. They keep the facility very clean and the staff are nice. I do admit that it is overpriced a bit, but overall, a very good gym! read more

Great gym! I really love that all of the equipment is new and clean. The staff are very nice and usually pretty accomodating if you need anything at all. During 5-7pm or so during the week can be tough with the large influx of people but usually its still very managable due to the various types of equipment and quantity. Been a member for about 10 years, on and off. For all of my gripes, it really is one of the nicest facilities out there. More things than you could possibly want to do at gym, but you're paying for them, it's not cheap. Fairly affordable for families though, due to a group rate. The pool is the main reason I keep my membership here and 24 hour access is a huge bonus. The gym gets packed during the typical peak gym hours, though it's never so crowded that you can't get a cardio machine of some sort, and usually the one you want. The free weight area is small in proportion to the rest of the gym, to the extent that I don't even like going in it unless the gym is pretty empty, in which case I'll stick to the machine weights. Most of the negatives, I can't really fault LTF for. One of my biggest complaints is the members I share the gym with, and I guess anytime you have a gym the size of an airport, you're going to get a lot of annoyances. No disrespect to the Chaldean community (some of my good friends are), but this place is loaded with the guido variety that makes this place look like a bad episode of Jersey Shore some days. The macho struts around the gym, the constant high-fiving, and loud groups of 4 and 5 young guys can be really distracting and highly annoying. I do some endurance events and sometimes get stuck on cardio machines for long periods during the winter months, and having to listen to an annoying conversation about someone's kids for two hours, is pretty annoying. Speaking of which, there are also a lot of teens here, that I see getting dropped off like they it's a mall. I don't remember that happening a few yeas ago, but better the gym than the mall I guess. But in general, there just a lot of events and distractions. It's cute that they host indoor triathlons have Daddy/Daughter dances, but to be honest, I don't really want that at my gym. Bottom line, you will need a loud pair of headphones at this gym. I like that they offer classes, I don't use them much these days, but g/f who is on my membership says it's fight to get in most of the Yoga classes she's tried to attend, so keep that in mind if that's a draw for you. Pool area is nice and you can usually get a lane to swim in except maybe during peak hours, but there is also the lounging area of the pool that you can usually swim in if you need to. One of the knocks that on LTF that is valid is sometimes they decide they are going to do an event or class, and then SUPRISE! You usually swim that time of day and now there's class! Sorry! All in all, it's a decent gym, but not for everyone. My g/f doesn't like it that much, and even I maintain a Planet Fitness membership for the days I don't feel like I can stomach the Lifetime crowd. It's a definitely a big gym, and coming here is like going to the mall- finding a parking spot, dodging people, it's a 5 minute walk from the parking lot to the locker room. And WATCH YOUR BELONGINGS-I set an iphone down here for 2 minutes, GONE. Place is definitely full of d-bags. This is a gym where you go to work out, but it will never be "your" gym, if you catch my drift. It's just too big and impersonal for that. ***Updated January, 2011*** For the benefit of potential new members- I'm downgrading them a star for a few reasons. My g/f and I decided she was not making use of the membership and we were going to take her off the plan. I already heard disgruntled members saying that when you give notice of termination, they charge you another month for no good reason. I was already prepared for that, but then they charged be an additional $15 to take her off, since I was still keeping my membership. Are you idiots trying to make me leave too? They recently closed the Troy location for a month for "remodeling" and it doesn't look like a ton was done (I'm sure it's more than what it looked like, I'll give them that). Some of the machines were obviously moved because a few of them were broken from rough handling. Also, they decided to start locking the doors and that you now need to be buzzed in after midnight, and the front desk person is off doing some other chore. For 70 bucks a month, I expect this place to be staffed full time- at least provide a swipe card if you're going to do that, so I don't have to stand around waiting for the person to make their way back to the front desk from parts unknown. The really annoying and idiotic part is that now is that a "door bell" rings through their speaker system every time someone comes in, which gets really annoying. I am disappointed that they don't think enough of their members that they can't at the very least, give the staff pagers that notify them of visitors. I am really resisting the urge to leave this place with one star, but that the facility is nice and the staff is usually really friendly, I am sticking with two for now. If I could give zero stars, I would. Sure it seem slike a nice gym, but when you look closely, there is a lot more that could be done given the price it costs to bea member. The bathrooms are always dirty and the machines can always use a little more sprucing up. Dont even get me started on the clientele. I wish we could outlaw use of cell phones at the gym like we do in cars. Give me a break. The staff, however is the one and only reason I finally quit lifetime. They are rude, condescending, dishonest. I called to disucss putting a hold on my account due to some travel for work that would not allow me to get to the gym for 2 months....the person I spoke to on the phone told me it was no problem, as long as I came in-person to do so. Once I got stopped in, they told me the hold wouldnt go into effect until 30 days later - which completely defeated the purpose of me trying to pause my account. When I contested this info as the girl on the phone never relayed that info to me, this highly unprofessional "sales guy", who mind you, has probably never set foot in school beyond his GED, told me that the notes on my account stated "Customer was told of the 30 day rule from the date of pausing membership"....really? This was completely false, and total BS. No one ever stated that to me and if they had, do you think I would have gone into work an hour late just so I could stop in and waste my time? This was just the beginning of an uphill battle I never won, and resulted in me leaving lifetime for good. (PS even quitting this gym resulted in me having to go to battle with them, and them charging me 2 additional months worth of membership fees that I was never refunded due to more inaccuracies, lies and shady dealings). I will never set foot back onto the property and I tell everyone I meet or who asks that these gyms are not all theyre cracked up to be. I know I have already convinced at least 6 people to stay away....Lifetimes loss, though for some reason I dont think they care at all about their customers and therefore dont care about the business they COULD have retained or earned. Some of the absolute worst customer service and nothing is made convenient for a client. So ridiculous that when you need something done you are told you can only come during business hours even though they are open 24/7. Inconvenient for anyone who has a job. I have to admit that this year's visit was much more pleasant than last year's. I spoke with Chad, who was awesome in assisting me in getting my gym fix while in town for the week. The 5:15 am spin class was great, and gave me a high intensity workout to blow off the stress of the week. Though it seemed as if the gym was crowded at all hours, I still managed to get my workouts in without much battle over the weights or the machines. Sadly, my hotel appeared to be understaffed this year, so no shuttle. Boo. But at a mere 1.5 miles away, I had a brisk run back and forth to warm me up and cool me down. Just be careful if it's dark and you spy a cute lil' bunny crossing your path. That bunny may turn out to be a skunk. Yah, it did. Luckily I was awake enough to realize that bunnies don't have thick white stripes down their backs or bushy tails. The cafe is quite nice, as well. I neglected to bring a jar of peanut butter with me, and as I like a bit of peanut goodness in my morning oatmeal, the cafe was lovely enough to sell me (I use the term loosely, as I think they charged me a quarter) some to take back to my hotel room. Fresh fruit salads, sandwiches, and other goodies, as well as a very friendly staff. Great gym, seemed like it was more together this year. If you are local or a visitor it's a great place to sweat out your indiscretions. Oh, and ask for Chad in member services. He rocks. read more

I joined Lifetime about a month ago and I love it! They should hire me for their spokes person because I have nothing bad to say about this place. This has been the best gym I have ever stepped foot in. I cant believe the gripes I see about it, esp the one where someone is actually complaining about the long walk to the gym from the parking lot. Really? You are there to work out, are you seriously complaining about a walk to the facility? now that is laziness at a whole nother level. And yes the parking lot gets full which is really not a big deal, and we should all being praising this because it means people are getting into shape. Now I also see that people are complaining about the gym being too busy at certain times. Yes there are times where there are more people but I have been here at peak times and have never had an issue finding an open machine or equipment. I cant speak for the classes though. I am not sure people here in MI understand how crowded gyms get in other cities. When i lived in San Francisco you literally have to put your name down on a waiting list to grab a machine and were only alloted 30 min until you had to turn it over to the next person. So, I laugh when i hear people gripe about it being too crowded. Definitely not my experience here. Here are a list of things I love about this gym. -Childcare is included, no extra cost-yes and you get up to 2 hours to workout, go hang in the hot tub, steam room. Whatever your heart desires. The childcare facility is sweet. They have computers for the kids, basketball court, climbing structures...This is seriously every mothers dream. I cant wait to take advantage of this over the summer when I am pulling out my hair. -Group Fitness Classes are included, no extra cost-They have every kind of class you can think of. Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Aerobics, Water Arobics, Zumba. you name it they got it. Did I mention NO EXTRA COST! -Rock Climbing-For no extra charge you can go rock climbing! hello, this is awesomeness people. My kids love it too. -Swimming-again, no extra charge with a nice side for the kids to play as well as a hot tub and dray sauna. -Steam Room-My personal favorite. It actually has Eucalyptus pumped into it. You feel amazingly refreshed and my skin feels like it has improved. -Other cool stuff includes; a cafe with healthy food and fresh raw juices. A hair salon, massages, personal training (these things do cost you extra), kids summer camps, kids sports lessons and stuff like that. Ok so for all this stuff I pay $125 for my whole family (4 of us). Unlimited access and the gym is open 24 hours! I think for all the things you get here it make it totally worth it. There is no other place that can measure up to me for families. I know many just plain yoga studios in the area that charge roughly $100 for unlimited yoga and that is all they have to offer. not even childcare and that is jut for 1 person. So to me $125 for the whole family with all those classes is a steal. I am currently doing some personal training sessions because you get a couple free sessions when you join and it is amazing. My personal trainer is Chris Fudge and he really know what he is doing. I get amazing works outs that challenge me to push just a little more than I would normally. You also get unlimited free fit point assessment to measure your strength, body fat, and stuff like that. This is always free and very informative. The facility is huge, the equipment is the latest there is, the staff has always been very nice and the people who go here seem friendly. I find that customers who go here kind of keep to themselves which I really like. Anyway, as you can see I love this place. I have nothing bad to say. It is Awesomeness squared. read more

I am giving this gym 2 stars and resisting emotions that want me to give it one. There are some positive aspects with the gym, however in my personal experience the negatives overwhelm the qualities. First, the price is much too high for average use. It's very true that there are a lot of amenities. You are paying for all of them so if you aren't using most of them, it may be best to look elsewhere. In the past I played a lot of basketball and had time to jump in the hot tub, use the steam room, etc. Now that I don't use any of those, I realized I am throwing money away, Second, the place gets very crowded. I never thought it was that bad until I went to other gyms. Lastly, they have some sneaky contractual language regarding cancellation. If you wait until January 2nd to cancel, they will keep all of January's fees that were billed on the first, then claim that it is 30 day's notice and come Feb 1, you will be charged for another entire month which will be kept in full by them. What amplifies the egregiousness of this policy is that you can only cancel in person or by certified mail. I quit working out and stopped using the club. I called to cancel and was informed that it had to be in person or by certified mail, no exceptions. Then a few days go by and it's the first of the month and I get charged again. Then I start thinking I will use the club and begin working out again. A month goes by, I haven't been once, I decide to go in to cancel, some S*** happens out of my control taking me out of town and I don't make it in until the start of a new month and get hit with that nonsense. Bottom line is it is my fault. I'm lazy or whatever. The contract says what it says. I don't like to work out and human nature takes over. Lifetime preys on this human nature and what doesn't appear to be a big deal, ends up costing me a hefty chunk of change. It's sneaky and in my opinion a little too greedy for my tastes. I'd rather give my money to a more sympathetic operation. Haha, in all honesty that's exactly what I was doing: giving them money and not going to the gym at all! Oh and more than once I have been told by staff that the reason the basketball courts close at midnight is because Chaldeans and Arabs would get off work and come fight. I don't know what they were thinking, but that isn't the kind of thing you go saying to your customers. The courts do close at night which is annoying if you want to shoot around. Lastly, they have a new promotion every month. None of them are ever that great of a deal, yet you can fully expect them to fill your email box. Just like you wouldn't pay full price for a suit at Jos A Banks, don't ever pay a full enrollment fee here. read more

This faculty was very nice until I went swimming. Parents be Cautious they do not shock there pool!!!!! It is disgusting when people poop in the pool they clean it up and let your child go right back in it .. they make you all evacuate and let you back in thirty min . Parent these pools are suppose to be shocked for 12 hours or more to sterlize the water. Your child is swimming with poop infested water . They don't want to close the pool because it cost them money . Don't believe me the next time you go and everybody get out watch how they continue swim lesson ten mins later that water is not clean and your children is putting the head all in the water sometime drink the water !!!!!!!! read more

major downgrade of this club due to this tiny shrew of a woman, "alice" who stands around in the ladies' locker room and is the towel police. She literally stands a foot away from people and watches how they use their towels She has rudely confronted my wife ( in the locker room in front of many other members) regarding some of her hair dye ( hint alice, it comes out in the wash) getting on the towel after she showered and accusing her of dying her hair in the shower. Numerous occasions of this rude, unprofessional employee were brought to management who basically gave only lip service. They literally asked when my wife worked out and asked Alice the towel sheriff to just hang out someplace else during those hours, which she of course didn't do. She still hangs out in the locker room all day, doing little except loudly gossiping about her own life and , of course, stalking dues paying women who are there to relax and take a shower. It sort of ruins the whole experience and gives the entire club a black eye BTW: everybody at the club likes my wife. and they have all privately told her that none of the other staff like this alice person . she is a little bully, who obviously bullies the club management to the point that they are afraid to discipline or fire her. pathetic Note to management: The customer is always right. When you have staff that are rude and chronically abusive and think the guests are there to serve them, not the other way around, perhaps you should take some action. this club is also scorchingly hot in the Summer. Don't know why they have issues with the temperature. Nice child center, but all of the best child staff have moved over to bloomfield,( we know since so have we , and we see them there now) . the staff there (bloomfield ) are friendly and it is absolutely worth the money if you don't want to make the drive to bloomfield or don't want to spend the extra money I might suggest the Rochester hills club The Rochester club is much better in every way. Better AC, better yoga, better professionalism in every regard The only positive point at the troy lifetime is the cafeteria. Don't come to this Lifetime fitness if you are interested in any water aerobic classes. This gym no longer accommodates for class sizes. Pool was overcrowded in class today and they would not temporarily remove one lane barrier to allow for a scheduled class in the pool To have enough space to workout. Lanes put up in the warm water pool are not scheduled and are an extra convience for anyone not wanting the water temp of the regular lap pool. There was not a line up to use those lanes and lanes were empty in lap pool. In the past I have not found an issue with restricting those lanes during a scheduled water class at other Lifetime gyms. Since the manager was more concerned about having one lane available for that particular class time than allowing space, I am sure we should all be able to use the cycle equipment whether a class is scheduled in the fitness room or not As well as the weights, bands, etc. read more

Used to be very nice and clean. Now it's overcrowded and overrun by teenagers at night. Not to mention it's extremely dirty. Witnessed a fist fight between two teens in the pool area late at night. Why are they in the fitness center unsupervised? Managerial staff are extremely young and not capable of effectively managing the gym. I've been to other centers and this one is the worst by far. Bought out by a Hedge Fund. Now it is overcrowded, have to fight at least two people getting OUT of a parking spot, on the few occasions I get there by 3:30. This location has a extra paid "bootcamp" full of people who take up space in the cardio machine aisles and rows. So after an hour on an elliptical, I need to step around these fat assholes? Meanwhile a woman who isn't even in shape is yelling through a mic so loud I can hear it over my earbuds. I am paying a gym $75/month to use their cardio equipment when I have weights at home? Please. They are real dicks about cancelling membership, even following their rules. You actually need to report a card stolen to get out of their autopay without going to court, even with documents. Cancel and it will keep showing up as a charge, AFTER the 30 day part of your contract. read more

If I can give this gym 0 stars I would. The worst gym I have ever entered. It stays dirty. Locker rooms always a mess. The machines broken most of the time. For the amount of money I'm paying they could at least fix the place up. Management is very useless. Everyone there acts like they're doing you a favor by letting you work out there. This gym is filled with young punks and people who don't work out. It's a social club not a gym. If you're trying to look good for the summer I recommend you get membership else where. Ive been a member here for 5 years or more. Ive tried changing gyms while keeping my membership, but Ive always returned. Look, there are idiots everywhere in life including the gym. I just tend to ignore them or tell them to get away from me. No different here. But you cant beat the gym and facilities overall. LA Fitness cant compare to the layourt and equipment. It just cant. Gorgeous facility. Best in the area, although you will definitely pay for it. Membership is 60/month. Twice as much as LA Fitness which has more or less the same facilities only not quite as nice. Ok, so LA fitness does not have a eucalyptus spa. But I can settle for a dry sauna. Lifetime also has two indoor pools, one that is more recreational with slides and a fountain that kids can enjoy, whereas LA fitness only has a single 3-lane lap pool, fine by me. One thing I did feel LA fitness did better was they seemed to have more interesting group classes but that could just be my personal tastes. However LA does not offer the rock climbing wall, cafe, salon/spa where you can get your hair done and massages and so forth. Aside from the rock climbing wall, from what I know about this world I do believe cafes, salons and spas do exist elsewhere in the community.... Oh, and I suppose you can get some discounts from Best Buy, AMC theaters, etc with Lifetime membership but who is really going to utilize that to any substantial extent? I certainly won't. Lifetime is hands down a much nicer gym that LA fitness, if money were no object I would sign up here any day. Unfortunately, pampering myself is not a priority at this time and there's just no way I'm paying double when the whole point of my going to a gym is to get sweaty and gross anyways. read more

I'm only giving this place 2 stars because of their wonderful physical training staff and it's always clean and organized. Other than that good luck paying around 70 bucks for only one lifetime location It's impossible to find a parking spot. All the machines are usually occupied at from 6-10PM. I wanted to put my account on hold so what does Lifetime do if you make any changes to your account? I get charged a $10 PROCESSING fee to put my account on hold. And then another $10 for each month I don't use it (they give you $10 in "LT bucks"). I originally wanted to come here for yoga classes but good luck finding a yoga class other than Tuesday nights. Kids should not be allowed on the equipment upstairs. Thats how injuries happen. For the amount of money you pay there monthly, we should not be charged "processing" fees. I think they expect you to not look at your monthly statement because even though I already got charged for the month they charged me a pro-rated price from what was left of the month and then the $20. This gym used to be good, but has gone majorly downhill-while the monthly fee's gone up. It's basically a budget club atmosphere with a luxury club price tag. The club has at least 1 of 3 problems at any given time: Equipment is broken; there isn't enough of it; or it's gone missing. Worse yet are the arrogant trainers on staff-lookin' at the guys, here. They tend to bully guests who don't have trainers off the fitness floor. Also scary-a lot of the steroided up bros in the locker room tend to go into rages and pick fights with other guests. Oh and the toilets are absolutely filthy. More frustratingly, upon complaining to management about these issues, nothing ever really changes. There are no upgrades, no changes made to actually make the club better. Lowered expectations might be commonplace at a budget club, but Lifetime's supposed to be classier-so what's the use of paying high dues if you're still getting trashy service? Love this gym, been working out here for 8 months and Ive never had an issue. I don't understand what all these whiners are crying about. Granted, I come to this gym in the morning, I put on my headphones, I do my workout, I take a shower and leave.... I do supersets and plenty of free weights, and I rarely have an issue getting the weights i need or getting to a machine. My workout is flexible, so during the times there has been a constraint, I just swing back around. People are courteous, the lockers are plentiful. You give respect, you get respect. Sure, the showers could be nicer, the floor isn't nice enough to eat off of, and occasionally you have to be flexible. Big effing deal. It's a good gym and I've been to plenty of gyms. Update 1 year+ --- Been here for more than a year now, still love it. The service I get is very consistent, the place is very clean and well kept. Whenever I am on the road for business, the first thing I do is scan the area I will be to see how far a Lifetime fitness is. I've worked out at a couple of other LT's and I was happy to see that it was exactly as I expected, I know how to get around and I got what I expected. The amenities between the LT's varies, which is actually a nice surprise, one might have an extended pool, or a mountain climbing wall, better showers... I have to admit I am surprised to see how many people are complaining about "Kid's running around"? Where is this at? I workout upstairs 4-5 times a week and I've never seen a kid on the loose. I do have to say that I workout pretty early in the morning, maybe that is why... Bottom line is that this is a premium gym, and I've always felt like I get what I paid for. read more

I visit Michigan a few times a year for a couple of weeks each time. I usually go to Life Time Fitness to purchase a temporary pass. The staff are always professional, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Whichever customer service model they are following, it is working! After every interaction I've had with the staff (more recently, Michael), I left the gym thinking that if I were to move to Michigan permanently I would want to join this particular gym. read more

I've been a member at Lifetime (primarily use Troy) since they opened in 2003. I was also a member at Ballys from 1988-2005, so that's my benchmark. Have never walked into an LA Fitness, so can't compare that club. Lifetime does many things well which alone would make it a 5. I'll continue going there over what used to be Ballys any day...well worth it. But there is so much they could do better, which is frustrating (but no so much that I'd leave). The good... -I like the 24x7 hours. While I've never used the club late at night, it's nice to go around 8PM or 9PM and not be pushed out as they close (a knock on Ballys) -I often go during "rush hour" (winter time, 5PM - 7PM), and while it may be hard to find a decent parking spot and the locker room can be crowded, I've never had to wait to get a treadmill, bike, stair climber, etc. NEVER. -Given the traffic, especially in the winter, they do a good job of keeping the club clean, even the pool area. -I like the locker room compared to Ballys. Nice lockers, no need for a padlock (it works with your ID card), and towel service (even on the workout floor) -They reinvest in the club, which I think is great! It's only been open for less than 12 years, but they've remodeled pretty much everything at least once (maybe twice). The main workout floor was recently redone, I think to provide more competition to the crossfit craze. -It's a very child friendly facility. The child care center provides 2 hours of care for children from babies through age 11. (you do pay $6/month for each child though) My sons enjoyed going there, no battles, though as they got to be 10, they'd be less excited. The childcare area has computers, a big screen TV, and a basketball court. In addition, for families, there is a zero depth entry pool that is kept warm, slides on the indoor pool, and about half the clubs from what I see have outdoor pools (though Troy does not). -I've been getting my hair cut at the spa since it opened. Great service, great price. -I've only eaten at the cafe a couple of times but the food and service were good. -When you bring a guest, they tend to just let them come in, no high pressure sales tactics from what I've experienced. -Great variety of exercise classes with two studios, so it's likely the classes don't fill up (I do spin and have tried Insanity and Yoga, none of which were completely full) All of these things make it a great club. But there are some areas they could improve... -As at least one reviewer complained, the staff isn't always overly friendly. The people that work in the locker room (from what I hear it's a problem on both sides) can be very rude. No one outside of the spa goes out of their way to get to know members unless they are paying for additional training. -Lately, there has been a big emphasis on trying to sell more products and services. It feels very cheesy. When you enter the workout floor, you're met with signs for services and sample products for sale. They also run these "Biggest Loser" inspired contests that members have to pay to participate in, which are basically scams for them to sell you more products and services to "win". At Rochester, they are now offering members the chance to have a better locker room for a monthly service fee. All of this diminishes the brand, in my opinion. I'd prefer to see them just offer another tier of membership that would include a separate locker room, unlimited personal training, etc. Heck, I'd probably pay for it myself. -Once children turn 12, they are no longer eligible to use the child care facility and must pay for a membership. There really isn't much of a discount, it's like adding another full membership. With two sons over 12, I've had to not take them. I don't know any kids that age who have time to go on a regular basis. Ironically, I think Lifetime is hurting themselves with this policy. If I could sign them up for $10-$20 a month, I would (and it wouldn't make the club any more crowded as they'd probably go every other week for a day at most). -Unlike Ballys / LA Fitness, the clubs are only in select cities, so if you travel a lot, you may not have an opportunity to use the membership (though a basic membership gets you into most of their clubs...though they are now opening a different tier that you have to pay extra to access) read more

This is the worst place! Member Services is the lowest qualified to provide services. I received a "courtesy call" just to find out the status of my membership had been changed without my authorization, mind you they keep meticulous track of paper work but this particular transaction could "not be found", tha is because it was UNAUTHORIZED! yet they charged my CC a monthly fee and when I asked the Member Service Manager which is the person who took the LIBERTY to charge my CC, to reverse it, I was told it would be done in that days transactions....that was over a week ago and it still hasn't been done...Poor service if that is what they call SERVICE!! Member service dept are rude at best and ar solely interested in meeting quotes with disregard to what is typically refer to as QUALITY and INTEGRITY to costumers. Employees talk badly about other employees loudly and in front of costumers...Childcare has gotten rid of some bad apples and that department is well run for the most part. I would not recommend this gym even if it was free!!! Id rather go out to the park or any other place to work out. Staff is very kind! I was a new member and the generous staff went above and beyond to meet and exceed my needs.

I work out here every morning Monday-Friday. I walk In and the person behind the dest is very friendly, greeting me with a smile. I like working out in the morning because the "trouble making teens" and juice heads aren't there. The only down fall is waiting for a shower. There's a ton of men there,like me, working out before work and needing to get to work. I find it easier to just drive home and get showered there. read more

Yes, it is pricey and no, it doesn't bug me a bit. It isn't like there isn't a ton for your dollar. Pool, hot tob, lush locker rooms, a great kids room, tons of kids activities, a really good cafe, spa, salon, etc. The parking can be tricky during peak times, but I have never had an issue getting on a machine despite the crowds. The staff is friendly. The trainers even more friendly. I signed up for a T.E.A.M. class and so far it has been the best decision of my life. I am learning the proper way to work out, pushing myself harder than ever, and getting tons of motivation. You share a Personal Trainer with a team for a fraction of the price and get tons of benefits from it. My biggest complaint is that I feel the machines could be cleaner, like there is brown junk in the crevices, etc. And, while the members are to blame for some items like left over water bottles, napkins, and basic junk in the cup holders, it seems like they should have a housekeeping staff that walks through and removes those items. At the Troy Community Center you see people walking around the equipment all the time making sure it is cleaned and that club is only $20 bucks a month. Anyway, while they do offer all sorts of programs, testing, supplements, etc., for additional money, I have never felt pressure to buy anything. read more

Overall good but the management constantly makes changes to the joint but FAILS to notify members of these changes. Currently the weight room and didn't let members know. Just assumed were suppose to be ok with paying 65 dollars a month to not use the equipment. read more

Love this place. They have every machine you can think of, and everything seems pretty new. So why four stars instead of five? The bathroom always has a funky smell. I haven't been to the pool or checked out any of the amenities recently but I've heard that they are pretty good. Bonus that it's open all the time. I love working out with the trainer Chris there, ask for Chris Fudge, he is hands down the best and the only real reason why I come! read more

Great place to workout, there are lots of options! The child care center is great for people with kids. Full service cafe & spa as well!
