James got there and assessed the situation then gave me a fare company pricing. No, I did not go with it! But what stood out was when James understood it was premium pricing still gave me the one part that was needed. YES, The part that he was picking up from the local hardware store. He gave me the part after I said no to the service because the price was too high. I don't know if any business out there would todo that. Hire this chap. Just do it. I could just leave it there but... Every once in a while it is necessary for a service professional, tradesperson or technician to visit your home cos somethings not working or you need a job done that is outside of your know-how and skill set. And more times than not the person that arrives doesn't check all the boxes you might expect. Proficiency, efficiency, honesty, punctuality, integrity and cordiality. But I should back up a bit... I had a backed up system that was leading to rising water/debris in our shower/sinks etc...a complete show-stopper. And no amount of snaking or plunging on my part was making a difference. The problem was deeper. It was the middle of the night and I called an 'emergency' guy who arrived and talked a bunch of vague (and expensive) solutions that just didn't seem right. Yeah sure, we're talking about unblocking a pipe, but every situation needs to be met with nuanced consideration, not all guns blazing from the outset. The vent jetting from our roof vent that this guy wanted to perform would have cost a lot and would potentially have wallpapered my bathroom walls and ceiling with sewage. Something felt off, he seemed unsure, so I declined his services. I decided to sleep on it and took a pee in the garden. In the morning, I called George at Lifesaver Plumbing. Every part of my experience hiring George checked those boxes I typically expect but also checked some I didn't even know about. My plumbing 'emergency' was clearly beyond my scope and understanding. I called George at 650am in the morning and he picked up straight away. His manner was clear and concise and cordial, immediately putting me in the zone of comfort I like to be in. He was able to get to me same day (2pm) but at 1230pm he called back to say he could come early if it suited. He arrived 5-10 minutes later. Upon arrival, again I was given more confidence by his manner and by the very clean and organized state of his van, clearly someone who puts professionalism to the forefront. He was efficient and thorough evaluating the situation and soon presented me with clear explanation of all of it and the courses of action he could take. As he moved through my house and ADU he was very mindful of the environment and respectful of everything in the space, wearing booties every time he entered the house, removing them as he exited, always a good sign. Evaluations over, we agreed on a course of action and George deployed an array of machines, snakes, high tech sensor equipment and a hydro scaler but with appropriate restraint, all with caution and in rotation until our issue was resolved. Standard stuff maybe but in addition and at no charge, as he progressed, he sent a camera though which meant I got a full visual of the pipe system beneath our house and he could point out the problems. Some of our older pipes are super old and delicate, nearing the end of their days. This all needed a careful measured approach. Not only did he take care of my emergency but also strategized for addressing the obvious underlying issues. A highly valuable evaluation. Most importantly for me was the patience he showed explaining everything to me...and I'm pretty inquisitive at the best of times. Overall, along with great service, I got a great education from someone who clearly knows his stuff. Pricing was absolutely fair and George offers a membership deal that offers discount and all sorts of benefits. My problem was solved. My short term and long term goals are clear and I couldn't be happier that I called George that morning. read more

(I also submitted this review on Google) Yesterday evening I was hearing a loud clicking noise coming from my toilet and something that sounded like a lot of water. I booked an appointment for the next morning! I was so happy to see availability last minute. George called me when he was 15-20 mins away. He handed me his card before walking in and put on shoe covers. I told him about the problem and he asked if I had seen the notice from the city on my door. I had not seen it but even if I had they didn't say anything about plumbing being impacted. He let me know how what I'm hearing is a symptom from the water meter being upgraded and the sound will go away. He did not charge me for coming out and diagnosing the issue. I called Lifesaver Plumbing for a problem we were having with our water heater, George got back to me A.S.A.P.! We were scheduled in quickly, it was such a relief!! George came by the day of the appointment and kept us updated on the time of arrival, very amazing communication not found much these days! Our kitchen faucet needed to get replaced, the week of Thanksgiving at that. I've had luck using Drain-O, boiling water with vinegar, or opening the drain and using a small snake to remove hair in the past, but none of these tricks worked for our bathroom sink over the last few weeks - it was still draining super slow and continued to get backed up worse. I found Lifesaver Plumbing through a referral and called them on Thursday. George was very responsive and made himself available when I was home from work in SF the next day. I called Lifesaver Plumbers based on several good reviews I saw here on Yelp and on Nextdoor. We had a leaky outside faucet that our gardener had tried to fix but in the end, he couldn't remove it and he made it worse. George was able to come the next day and replace it. He discovered the main needed to be replaced because it wasn't completely shutting the water off. I had a suspicion this was the case because the gardener also couldn't get it to shut off completely. It was corroded and was probably the original one from when the house was built, so it was 48 years old. George replaced it with a new one that is much easier to turn off. I hired George at Lifesaver Plumbing to finish a challenging job in progress. I had multiple sewer pipes broken under a thick slab with unevenly compacted soil. This was a job that many groups turned down (one stopped working on it) but he came in with an excellent plan to get everything connected and secured. There were parts of the plan that involved expertise that his team did not directly handle, but he brought in those experts and had referrals for everything else. Within 3 days he had everything squared away, even finding and fixing additional broken elements that no one had previously noted.
