He happened to be having dinner with his family at a restaurant near my facility, a school. Recognizing the critical need for a repair over the holiday weekend, so we could resume school on Tuesday morning, he left the dinner to assess the problem. Convinced his supplier to open on Sunday to get the materials, then spent his entire Sunday working on the repair. Came back Memorial Day morning to check his work and turn the water back on. I never write reviews, but have to for these guys as I unfortunately learned the hard way. I ended up having a plumbing issue that required correcting some work that had previously been done incorrectly by another plumbing company a few days prior, and I'm very glad I called this company. What seemed like a very simple job to me wasn't so simple for the first company and they did an extremely poor job and didn't own up to their poor workmanship. The first company was immediate to respond, but I should have taken more than one quote before proceeding with work. But I'm glad I called these guys! George was extremely helpful talking on the phone about the other plumbers work leading up to the service visit. I had several questions about the plumbing, including the proper grading of the drain and vent lines, and he took the time to discuss them with me and provide thoughtful answers. That gave me a lot of confidence going into the appointment. He even suggested that I give them a chance to correct their issues, but I had mentioned that I already had and they didn't even acknowledge these were issues. Michael came out for the actual work, and he was outstanding. He immediately understood what needed to be corrected and did a very thorough job. The previous plumber had actually back-graded the drain and vent line serving the tub/shower, so Michael had to remove and rebuild the improperly installed ABS piping. He made sure everything had the proper grade and was properly strapped and secured. What really impressed me was Michael's ingenuity when he discovered that the existing galvanized vent line inside the wall wasn't properly secured. Rather than simply leaving it as he found it, he figured out a way to install a 2x4 between the beams so he could properly clamp and secure the vent line. He also found that the P-trap under the bathroom sink had been installed at an incorrect angle, which was causing a leak. The fitting was essentially rusted in place, but Michael carefully worked it out and installed a new P-trap correctly. Throughout the job, Michael was professional, knowledgeable, careful, and clearly took pride in doing the work correctly rather than just getting it done. He tested everything with me afterward, confirmed that everything was working properly, and cleaned up the work areas. It was especially reassuring to see someone take the time to correct problems left behind by another plumber and use good judgment and creativity when unexpected issues came up. **George was great to work with beforehand, and Michael was exceptional in the field.** I would absolutely recommend them and will be calling them again for future plumbing work. read more

Whoa. This is the team you want to call. The five star reviews are true. I have a double sink that had one clogged and it was clogged for three years (I know.). We thought it was our dishwasher that was causing it but we bought a new dishwasher and the right side of sink still clogged. Last week it started leaking underneath. When my husband checked the pipe, it was soft to the touch. Yikes! I was flipping out and came straight to Yelp. I started looking for reputable, well-reviewed plumbers and stumbled upon Lifesaver. I messaged them on Yelp and they responded quickly. I called and was happy to learn that they had availability the following day. They gave me an arrival window of 12-2. Perfect. Then I waited to see how things went. Next day, I received a text confirming the job and timeframe. Right around noon, James T. called and said he was about a half hour away. Great! He was right on time. Before entering the house he put on these booties to protect our hardwoods and he did so without our asking him. Amazing. Now to the job. My husband took over from here. It was the Friday before July 4th, and they managed to schedule someone to come out and provide a FREE quote the next morning, July 4th, at 8 am even though I told them it wasn't urgent. (I also submitted this review on Google) Yesterday evening I was hearing a loud clicking noise coming from my toilet and something that sounded like a lot of water. I booked an appointment for the next morning! I was so happy to see availability last minute. George called me when he was 15-20 mins away. He handed me his card before walking in and put on shoe covers. I told him about the problem and he asked if I had seen the notice from the city on my door. I had not seen it but even if I had they didn't say anything about plumbing being impacted. He let me know how what I'm hearing is a symptom from the water meter being upgraded and the sound will go away. He did not charge me for coming out and diagnosing the issue. Lifesaver Plumbing, George and team are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! I called about 4 pm when, drawn by hearing a strange PING, PING, PING noise, I discovered a huge bulging ceiling in our downstairs bathroom that was dripping water onto the toilet seat cover. SHOCKED. I remembered seeing his ad in the Contra Costa Marketplace magazine and called. George was so nice. He was just wrapping up a job and said he'd be here in 30 min. He arrived with a smile, a card, foot covers and got right to it. Bottom line: The nice toilet a friend had installed about a year and a half earlier had been leaking, unbeknown to any of us. Hire this chap. Just do it. I could just leave it there but... Every once in a while it is necessary for a service professional, tradesperson or technician to visit your home cos somethings not working or you need a job done that is outside of your know-how and skill set. And more times than not the person that arrives doesn't check all the boxes you might expect. Proficiency, efficiency, honesty, punctuality, integrity and cordiality. But I should back up a bit... I had a backed up system that was leading to rising water/debris in our shower/sinks etc...a complete show-stopper. And no amount of snaking or plunging on my part was making a difference. The problem was deeper. It was the middle of the night and I called an 'emergency' guy who arrived and talked a bunch of vague (and expensive) solutions that just didn't seem right. Yeah sure, we're talking about unblocking a pipe, but every situation needs to be met with nuanced consideration, not all guns blazing from the outset. The vent jetting from our roof vent that this guy wanted to perform would have cost a lot and would potentially have wallpapered my bathroom walls and ceiling with sewage. Something felt off, he seemed unsure, so I declined his services. I decided to sleep on it and took a pee in the garden. In the morning, I called George at Lifesaver Plumbing. Every part of my experience hiring George checked those boxes I typically expect but also checked some I didn't even know about. My plumbing 'emergency' was clearly beyond my scope and understanding. I called George at 650am in the morning and he picked up straight away. His manner was clear and concise and cordial, immediately putting me in the zone of comfort I like to be in. He was able to get to me same day (2pm) but at 1230pm he called back to say he could come early if it suited. He arrived 5-10 minutes later. Upon arrival, again I was given more confidence by his manner and by the very clean and organized state of his van, clearly someone who puts professionalism to the forefront. He was efficient and thorough evaluating the situation and soon presented me with clear explanation of all of it and the courses of action he could take. As he moved through my house and ADU he was very mindful of the environment and respectful of everything in the space, wearing booties every time he entered the house, removing them as he exited, always a good sign. Evaluations over, we agreed on a course of action and George deployed an array of machines, snakes, high tech sensor equipment and a hydro scaler but with appropriate restraint, all with caution and in rotation until our issue was resolved. Standard stuff maybe but in addition and at no charge, as he progressed, he sent a camera though which meant I got a full visual of the pipe system beneath our house and he could point out the problems. Some of our older pipes are super old and delicate, nearing the end of their days. This all needed a careful measured approach. Not only did he take care of my emergency but also strategized for addressing the obvious underlying issues. A highly valuable evaluation. Most importantly for me was the patience he showed explaining everything to me...and I'm pretty inquisitive at the best of times. Overall, along with great service, I got a great education from someone who clearly knows his stuff. Pricing was absolutely fair and George offers a membership deal that offers discount and all sorts of benefits. My problem was solved. My short term and long term goals are clear and I couldn't be happier that I called George that morning. read more

I should've listened to my wife and called a professional before tackling our bathroom sink! I've had luck using Drain-O, boiling water with vinegar, or opening the drain and using a small snake to remove hair in the past, but none of these tricks worked for our bathroom sink over the last few weeks - it was still draining super slow and continued to get backed up worse. I found Lifesaver Plumbing through a referral and called them on Thursday. George was very responsive and made himself available when I was home from work in SF the next day. He cleared the drain without making a mess, which I really appreciated and even gave me some tips how to prevent it in the future. It's a few days later now and it hasn't backed up since.
