Do not let your loved ones go to this place.
Refused to give me documentation regarding observations they had noticed, pain levels behaviours, sleeping, eating habits.
Refused to allow her access to her room for a hospital day pass.
Left cytotoxic waste pails in her room. Not properly sealed never roomed.
Found a loose pill laying on her floor.
Move out inspection was all marked excellent. Then they send it to head office where they deducted things like painting, carpet cleaning, and disinfecting without stepping foot in the room.
Now they refuse to answer my emails.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. My mother moved there June of 2022. She has early on set dementia and in March she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She moved into Lifestyle Options in June and stared chemo therapy. From July - September I had to fight for her right to be allowed to do chemo therapy infusions at lifestyle options. I finally won that battle. September 27th she had repeat scans. The cancer and shrunk in some spots, remained the same in others, and no new growth. Her oncologist was very happy. She didn't have any side effects either.
In October right after thanksgiving I became very sick and so did my son. On October 16th the staff called to tell me she had Covid. There was almost a 3 week period that I did not see her in person. When I did she had her neck to her chin and couldn't lift it. She looked like she lost 10 pounds. Not once was I notified of this.
November 2nd she was taken to the hospital for stomach pain and delirium. November 7th she was cleared medically but still agitated from being in the hospital. Schonsee did not want her to come back and this point and I took her to my house. November 8th I called requesting chart notes and the documentation on what they had noticed Nov 10th the cross requested it, Nov 15th I requested again in writing. I still haven't received it.
December 3rd she was given a weekend pass we went to her place. I had her under my care. The RN was annoyed and acted like we couldn't be there. She was more relaxed and calm then I had seen in a while. They called Anne Kay and Joan at their company Christmas party both were rude and said she couldn't be there. When I brought the fact that she pays rent. They back tracked. They then sent me a letter saying she can not be there during any passes. They said that they have a process to follow before discharging her meeting with a transition coordinator and having an assessment. The next day they ask for a teleconference to move her out. She is still being actively treated. I moved her stuff out. I did the walkout with the nurse December 20th at 6:45pm Everything was marked off excellent. Dale Martyn emails me at 11:30 December 23rd telling me that he will be at the site at 1:30 with the cheque he won't tell me what the deductions are and said there was an list. Apparently they did all this work on the 22nd. Nothing was done and they no it. Nobody is responding to my messages. They have broke so many rules. They wanted her out because I fought for her right to get chemo. They kicked a women out of her home 2 days before Christmas. Anyone who currently has a loved make sure you read the lease. I can promise she isn't the only one they did this to. read more
