BEAUTIFUL VENUE!!!…read more The road going up and down is a little scary (for me), but everyone seems to be very careful. The venue is absolutely beautiful...outdoor theater with great views of the city below & beyond. And when the sun goes down.. it is even more magical. I had the empanadas, which were really good and tasty. The wine was also very good - we stuck with the Pinot Noir. Staff were a little high strung... they should smile more. Would I go back? Yes, for the concerts... but I will probably eat before going instead of eat there.

In general, I like this venue. I've been going to this venue before the amphitheater seating, I was…read morea patron back when there were only rows of benches and the only thing you could see was the person in front of you. No complaints on the venue itself but there are some ushers with the rudest attitude in such a bad way. I have a hallway that is strictly music themed memorabilia and some of the best pieces are the set lists that I've collected over the decades. I frame and treasure them as memories that got me through good and bad times. Music is and always has been a huge part of my life. The other night, we were at a show and I went to get a set list for my collection. There was nobody around and the people working on stage were clearing the set as fast as possible as they only had a few minutes to clear the stage and set up for the next band. An usher, I think her name was Karen asked me if I took the set list. I said yes and she took it from me and PUT IT BACK ON THE STAGE!!! I think I'm still a bit shocked because it was so unnecessary. She told me, no,I can't have it..... I have to ask for it! At this point, I'm beginning to feel like Pavlov's dog, I turned around and faced the stage. I had to interrupt the guys trying to clear the stage and said (in my best Dicken's Tiny Tim voice, "please sir, may I have that piece of paper?". Ummm.... What the hell? She was smirking like she did such an amazing job with teaching me a lesson! I've been to other shows where people are begging for set lists. This was not the case. If there were other people before me, I'd make sure they got it over me! She also told me numerous times not to touch the stage. I did have to lean my upper torso in a few times maybe 20 degrees (again only my upper torso!) to interrupt the guys swapping the stage. I did not intentionally try to touch it, please take a look at the CCTV cameras. I am too old to be submissive to someone with a twisted issue with power control. I know I shouldn't have let this bother me but I slept on it and I just think it was so unnecessary. It was humiliating but I was given three set lists that night that I will add to my beloved collection. I complied with everything asked of me, I was not touching the stage on purpose and that was clear as day. She is unfit to interact with your guests. She was treating me in such a condescending manner which was bizarre and can ruin the experience of patrons to come! A big shout out to your security upon entering, your merch and bar staff. Unfortunately( it just takes one person to change your overall experience. She may think she did anything wrong but it's not a good experience moving forward. Also, please let people have a set list if they want it! It may just be a piece of paper to one, but a an amazing memory to another. Best

Fast forward to our first lesson, after showing our first song to Ken and giving him the vision of what we wanted, Ken started brainstorming with a bunch of great ideas. Every lesson we were piecing the choreography and Ken was able to give us some key point to make it look better. My wife and I were looking forward to every single lesson with Ken, he was always eager to greet us, always had the next part of our choreography put together and made it super pleasant to learn. We could always reach out to him regardless the time of the day, and we were so thrilled with the results of planning my wife and I first dance that my wife and I also scheduled a lesson with our dad/ mom for the mother/son and father/ daughter dance and Ken was able to put something together in that one lesson. Overall my wife and I are truly grateful that he was able to work with us and we were absolutely thrilled with the results on our wedding day. Super grateful about everything and definitely recommend Ken to any/everyone.

I don't have much to add on that statement besides they never hit. We have come on nights where the service is poor, hard to get a bartender's attention even with no line and the drinks are gross. Some nights, the service is excellent and drinks are incredible! It just depends on who is bartending that night. The cocktail presentation is always very nice. This past Saturday we stopped by to hear the live music (which was really good / oldies rock and roll vibes) and there was no line at the bar! We got a wonderful bartender who made his own rendition of an Aviation for me as they do not have crème de violette. It was very good! Thanks Rudy! (I think it was Rudy?) Very much appreciated the work around and making something up special. My husband got the draft Paloma and it was not good. As I said just don't get the draft cocktails. Overall, would recommend the Cedar Room for great vibes, mostly friendly staff and mostly excellent cocktails (again, just don't get the draft)! We will be back!!

I wanted to share a concern about a recent visit to The Cedar Room. During my time there, I observed a male manager or supervisor interacting with staff in a way that came across as rude, disrespectful, and belittling. Witnessing an employee being spoken to that way in front of guests created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on the overall experience. What made the situation even more disappointing was that after speaking to staff in this manner, the manager spent what appeared to be an extended period of time outside the front of the restaurant talking on his cellphone instead of being present on the floor. I believe employees deserve to be treated with respect, especially in front of guests. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as leadership sets the tone for both the workplace and the guest experience.

My husband and I had a baby free night out to celebrate my birthday and haberdasher did not disappoint. We went soon after opening so there was no line but I know they tend to have one later in the evening. We were greeted warmly at the door by the attendant who checked our ids. I was even wished a happy early birthday. When going into the bar, you walk down a staircase into a space that makes you forget you're in downtown San Jose with beautiful reds and burgundy decor. The staff is all smartly dressed; the bartender and bar back were both sweet and funny. I ordered a jack rose (my all time favorite), their seasonal watermelon waltz (this may be a new favorite for me, nice and refreshing) and one of their zero proof cocktails called a Mariposa which was soooo good as well. My husband ordered a couple old fashioned and a watermelon waltz for himself. We had an amazing time and look forward to coming back in the future.

And they don't allow outside food in even if the food was leftover in Togo bags from dinner. The place was busy when we finally went inside. But the bartenders were fast and we got two rounds of drinks as far as we could order. The dim lighting did look reddish. The large tables were reserved but there plenty of smaller high tops around. Memorable drinks were the perfect pear and the Andean Ascent. Perfect pear was not fruity at all and had a nice aroma and spice to it. The Andean ascent was a nice drink to start with, refreshing with a bit of fizz.

The music was really loud and I couldn't hear the conversation of the person with me so the Asian bartender helped us turn down the music a little. It wasn't until mid evening that I realized there was another bar in the back. The bartender told us the cocktails at Alter Ego were more fancy. Definitely instagramworthy! Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. The back does seem like a more classy environment and I'd choose this setting over a dive bar any day. The music at still OG that they were playing at the time wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure they mix it up from time to time. I would love to hear some oldies!

The front was pretty full so we checked out Alter Ego first, but they were also full with nothing available until 11pm, so Still OG it was. You grab a spot yourself and then order at the bar. All cocktails are on tap, which actually ended up being great because I was between a few of them and the bartender was able to give me samples of them. We also ended up getting an order of the Chicken skewers, which were super tender and juicy. We were too late on our visit, but they do have a daily happy hour that includes some of the skewers and fries, as well as some drinks and shots. Service was super friendly and vibes and music were great! Cocktails, weren't the best since they were on tap, but still good enough! I would absolutely come back here for a drink and snack though!
