This is a good spot for happy hour! They have about 16 beers on tap, and for around $5 a beer, it's not bad at all. The wings are really good and crispy, and I always enjoy the garlic fries too. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. My husband and I have already come here about twice this week, and it's probably going to become one of our regular happy hour spots. If you're a beer drinker, I'd recommend checking it out. Just keep in mind they're closed on Mondays. I've been a regular at Cedar Room for a while, and honestly, the happy hour used to be one of the main reasons I kept coming back. Unfortunately, with the new pricing, I don't feel like it's as good of a value anymore. A 20% discount just doesn't compare to the old happy hour prices, especially when before wells cocktails were around $7 and beers for $5. With the current pricing at Cedar Room, I'm now walking out spending close to $100, compared to the $40-$50 I would normally spend before. I really like Cedar Room and have enjoyed coming here regularly, which is why it's disappointing to see the happy hour change this way. The bartenders & servers is awesome. I just wanted to give attention towards something I have not felt comfortable with regarding the management. I wanted to share a concern about a recent visit to The Cedar Room. During my time there, I observed a male manager or supervisor interacting with staff in a way that came across as rude, disrespectful, and belittling. Witnessing an employee being spoken to that way in front of guests created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on the overall experience. What made the situation even more disappointing was that after speaking to staff in this manner, the manager spent what appeared to be an extended period of time outside the front of the restaurant talking on his cellphone instead of being present on the floor. I believe employees deserve to be treated with respect, especially in front of guests. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as leadership sets the tone for both the workplace and the guest experience. read more

The housemade mayo was creamy and rich, and honestly elevated the whole dish. They also serve hot honey wings, four wings for $5 during happy hour. The honey glaze is perfect. We come to the Cedar Room often as we live nearby and it is pretty hit or miss. More hit than miss but I would not recommend their draft cocktails. I don't have much to add on that statement besides they never hit. We have come on nights where the service is poor, hard to get a bartender's attention even with no line and the drinks are gross. Some nights, the service is excellent and drinks are incredible! It just depends on who is bartending that night. The cocktail presentation is always very nice. If you haven't been to Drag Bingo at The Cedar Room, you are absolutely missing out! They host it every other Wednesday, and this past week was Wicked-themed -- complete with a special Midori cocktail that matched the green vibes perfectly. The performers were incredible, hilarious, and so interactive. I even won a round and had to do a dance-off to claim my prize... slightly embarrassing but honestly one of the best parts of the night! My only complaint is that it gets very busy, and it seemed like there were only two servers working, so drinks took a while. We got there early for good seats and grabbed food before the show. My friend and I split the lobster rolls (you get two!) and a plate of fries -- the perfect pre-bingo bite -- and a flight of beers to go with it. I stopped by The Cedar Room after dinner for a few drinks, and the bartender, who I believe said her name was Nieves, gave us exceptional service. She was incredibly knowledgeable about whiskey, recommended Elijah Craig 18 (which was absolutely worth it), and even told us about the happy hour specials. I really appreciated that she wasn't just trying to sell the most expensive drinks-she genuinely cared about helping us find options that fit our budget while making sure we had a great experience. She treated us like friends, and that's the kind of hospitality that keeps customers coming back. Unfortunately, our experience changed because of a man with tattoos on his hands and neck who appeared to be a manager or a supervisor. While Nieves was answering our questions and taking great care of us, he was sitting at the bar on his laptop talking with another employee. He interrupted her and told her to stop "chit-chatting" with us and go work in the back. As guests, that was uncomfortable to witness because she wasn't just chatting-she was providing outstanding customer service. After that, she seemed much quieter and hesitant to come back whenever he was nearby. Nieves was the highlight of our visit, and we truly hope she's treated with the respect she deserves. We've been to the Pruneyard Cinemas many times since moving back to the Bay Area. Tonight, it was our first time stopping by the Cedar Room. We wanted to get a couple drinks before watching our movie. They have happy hour on Tuesdays-Sundays from 2-6pm and there's discounted appetizers and alcoholic drinks! I got a Moscow mule and a rum & Diet Coke. Both were pretty strong so I think as far as bang for your buck, it gets the job done. Another amazing evening at the Cedar Room last Saturday! The two servers, a man and woman, who waited on us were fantastic, very attentive. My Picante Margarita was perfect as well. The band was top notch, one of the best in the area. The reviews slamming the manager are so unwarranted. I knew a mother who was killed by a drunk driver, along with several of her children. It was later determined the driver got drunk at a nearby bar. It could have been avoided had he been cut off. I'd rather a restaurant be extra safe and diligent on cracking down on those who are hammered. Don't these people know the business will be liable?? Not to mention it's the right thing to do. These young adults need to own up to their horrible behavior instead of posting slanderous Yelp reviews. Do better people. read more

Bingo night with the Queens of Campbell (which happens every other Wednesday) was extraordinary!! We arrived 1 hour 15 minutes early (start time was 7:30pm) and there were only a few tables/seats left, most outside in the patio... but the staff was awesome moving us closer to the "stage" and eventually inside as cancellations/no-shows occurred. Regardless of where you sit, the queens dance around to all the tables throughout the venue. We enjoyed dinner and drinks before (and during) the show. Service was outstanding! All of the food exceeded our expectations. I've had food and drinks here many times, both while watching movies at the Pruneyard Cinemas theater (as they serve food/drinks directly to your seat in the auditoriums) and stopping by the bar after catching a film in the attached theater. But it's been a while, so I was reminded that you get what you pay for here, and that's decent portions and quality ingredients, for a slightly higher price. Totally worth it! The breaded mushrooms were juicy and flavorful with a light breading, not too heavy, sauce on the side unnecessary. The mac and cheese with the buffalo chicken was amazing, cheesy, just the right amount of sauce, and not too spicy, with a generous amount of tender diced chicken to balance out the carbs. The tri tip french dip was tasty as well, the au jus not too salty, and the lightly salted fries cooked perfectly, simple but so satisfying. All of the drinks we tried had great flavor (royal garden, vampire cosmo, when harry met sally, and a special jameson lavender cocktail for the event), but were light on the alcohol and not as good as the food. For the Queens of Campbell drag queen bingo event, the entertainment was nonstop, including audience members celebrating weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions being put on the spot (even dressed up by the queens in RuPaul's drag race style), bingo tie breakers with winners dancing for the crowd, and an engaging wig contest. And it's free to attend and play (and watch and enjoy the show too), with prizes including gift cards for Pruneyard Cinemas and even Southwest Airlines (this past Wed). Well, it's not REALLY free, cuz it's too fun and delicious not to spend money on food and drinks while you're there (and of course tip the staff and entertainers). But you do get free bingo cards with every item you purchase. The ambience here is awesome for a girls night out (or guys) or date night, casual but classy, great decor and decent lighting, and an energetic atmosphere during special events. Great music before and after the show, mostly pop hits while we were there. They also do karaoke on Sundays, and live music on other days. I've been coming to the Cedar Room for drag bingo nights for a while now because I love supporting our local queens and our community. Unfortunately, our experiences have been repeatedly ruined by the same bartender, who goes by "Ginger Mae." Last night was the worst yet. My girlfriend and I walked in, excited for drag bingo as usual, and were about to sit down at the bar when Ginger Mae loudly yelled that we need to "check in at the front," and shooed us away from taking the last 2 seats at the bar. Mind you, we have never had to check in at drag bingo night. We left the bar to check in with the security guard at the front, but the security guard didn't know anything about a check-in policy. While we went to the front, our two seats we had were taken by two other people who walked in without checking in at all. This was infuriating because we had initially made it to claim the last 2 seats at the bar but because of this made up "check-in" from bartender Ginger we were left with sitting on the outside patio where we couldn't even enjoy the drag show at all. This isn't the first time we've had issues with her. On a previous visit, she charged us twice for a side and she treated us with hostility and attitude when we politely asked to have the bill corrected -- even though it was her mistake. She regularly acts like she can't hear us to avoid taking our order, and her overall attitude toward customers is rude and hostile. This latest incident felt especially targeted. We're two women of color in a lesbian relationship, and we try to support LGBTQ+ spaces whenever we can. But Ginger Mae's repeated hostility, poor service, and now this situation, have left us feeling unwelcome in a space that's supposed to be inclusive. Management should seriously reconsider allowing someone with such a consistently negative attitude to represent this establishment. We love the queens and the events, but our experiences with this bartender have been nothing but awful. Until this is addressed, we'll think twice about coming back. read more

I loved the ambience. Great lighting. Although, the seating is not too comfortable. Limited options on the happy hour menu. Pizza slice was disappointing. Brussel sprouts were ok. The three stars is because we were overcharged. We opened a tab but probably because we moved tables, the confusion happened. But the staff were informed that we moved tables and they should have updated their system. I did not take the customer copy of the receipt unfortunately. On reaching home, realized I had two charges. One was $10 over and above my final bill including tips. And another random charge for some random amt. Tried calling them several times for a couple of days but nobody answered. So, I had to go in again and ask them about the charge. And the staff member said since I did not have the receipt, she did not have the evidence. But she did take down my number, card details ( last 4 digits), date and time of transaction and promised to call back after she called the vendor. She never called back but that very night, the second random charge was cancelled. So I'm thankful to her if she was responsible for it. In all, I was charged $10 more which I can let go. I was meeting a friend in Campbell and she suggested Cedar Room in the Pruneyard. I have been to the Pruneyard countless times and had NO idea this place existed! It is tucked back behind the cinemas in a dark corner, and almost seems like it's part of another restaurant. In any case, I agreed to try it out because the online menu looked promising. It was a gorgeous warm day, so we sat on the patio. That meant going inside to order at the bar - no big deal. I got a cocktail from the Tiki Thursday menu (so good I can't remember what it was) that was fruity, refreshing, and we'll-balanced. Loved the fresh mint! The drinks were strong and I was definitely feeling the alcohol hit after just one. Can't have drinks without snacks, and the options here are pretty elevated for a movie theater bar. I opted for the Impossible meat nachos (vegetarian, still uses dairy cheese so not fully vegan) and my friend got the tri-tip nachos. These nachos were fully-loaded, piled high, crispy, savory, and completely craveable. The layering was done nicely so there was a good distribution of toppings throughout the pile. Huge pluses on the freshness of the salsa, the seasoning of the meat, and the flavor of the cheese sauce (not the processed goo from a ballpark). i've been going to this place for the past 7 years and loved the experience but tonight i decided to go one last time because they're closing with the theater, but i received the worst interaction i have ever experienced. She then proceeded to curse about me to her friend behind the bar saying i was a B***h and need to f*** leave. I've been in customer service for the past 10 years and I never had to display that type of attitude in front of a customer. When she made my first drink i even complimented her about the drink she made me only to be welcomed by horrible behavior. My friend at the end had to confront her about her inappropriate behavior because it made me visually uncomfortable and upset. only for her to curse at her as well. Where to EVEN BEGIN. Cedar room was absolutely the perfect place for my husband's 40th birthday party. They were awesome with us from the GET. Ray and the bartenders created a custom cocktail named it and even pulled various drinks from their menu and relabeled them based on the occasion and the theme- entirely Back to the Future. Their marketing person, Ashlee, worked with me on creating custom birthday signs and custom menu cards! They set up the tvs so we could play old photos on loop throughout the night. Ray worked with me on literally EVERYTHING from decor (including little back to the future surprises the venue got) to the food menu with Jeremy: we picked some favorites, two different pizzas, Philly cheesesteak sliders, fries, pretzel bites, fried pickles and everything was an absolute hit! The bar staff was so fast and professional the entire night and incredibly fun! They let us in (much) earlier than our reservation to decorate and even let us stay later than they closed (an absolute mistake on my part which I discovered later) but instead of being strict/harsh about the time limit which they absolutely could have been, they were incredibly generous to stay as late as we did! The venue even came up with some incredible surprises of their own that went absolutely above and beyond!!! It was clear they were so excited about the party and theme and they're passionate about making these kinds of experiences special. I got so many texts the week of from Ray updating me on all the details they would finish along the way so I never had to ask for anything!! I had guests asking if we were friends with the staff that's how amazing they treated everyone but before this party we weren't! They were just GREAT! Cedar Room is a great place to stop by for drinks and appetizers. The music in here is pretty loud, it's a cocktail bar with a good amount of tables to sit at and they also ID you upon entrance. It's located in the back of Pruneyard right next to the movie theater and there was no wait when I came on a Friday evening at 7 pm. LOADED NACHOS W TRI-TIP(4/5): I was expecting the tri-tip to be shredded but it came in chunks instead. This is a great dish to share with others, my friend and I ate a lot but barely made a dent because of how big the portion is. MANGO HABENERO WINGS(3/5): The wings here are honestly very tiny and there wasn't a lot of meat on it so it was kind of disappointing. The flavor was good though, but I would probably rather get another appetizer instead of this just because of how skimpy we found it to be. PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITA & WHITE PEACH TEQUILA COCKTAIL (4/5): Honestly can't go wrong with these, especially if you like fruity drinks! The presentation of both drinks is minimal but still very cute. Went here a couple weeks ago for Queen Bingo. I had actually gone once before in 2020, right before the shut down. This was the first time going again since 2020 and it was SO fun! Bingo in general is fun, but the performances by the Queens makes it Amazing! We went both times for the same friends birthday and they truly make you feel so welcomed and special on your special day! Even our husbands had a great time! The bar makes a great Margarita and Mint Mojito. We ordered their Pizza and wings and everything was good! I especially loved their buffalo wings. Perfectly crisp, sauced and a good amount of them. Can't write a review and not mention the music! The DJ is a personal fav, and honestly he should be the DJ you try to go see! DJ Chip DeVille is AWESOME!! AWESOME!!!!! He really and truly slays the music game. Here are some tips if you ever go for Queen Bingo: 1. Look, but don't touch! These performers work HARD on their craft, don't disrespect them! 2. Show us the money, Honey! Again, they work hard! Their routines are A-1. They are athletic and put in so much effort, time and money to their showcase. TIP THEM! TIP THEM! TIP THEM! You don't have to, but really, you should. 3. Go for it! If they are looking for a volunteer, do it! A cute bar and restaurant tucked in the back of the pruneyard. The Devil Wears Prada - fireball yummm, but also fruity and sweet. This drink tastes like a cozy fall night 10/10 Strawberry mojito hard kombucha - 6% abv hard kombucha? Nothing wrong with that 10/10 The fries were nice and crispy but the chipotle mayo leaves something to be desired. It would be better if it was a little spicy, but it was just smoky. Nitro zombie - a rum cocktail with absinthe and fruit juice? Love it. If you were limiting yourself to one drink for the night, I'd suggest this one. I only wish the space was a little bit bigger for queens bingo, but I can see this being a cute night cap after a date. Away from noisy Santana row and cozy. read more

This review is strictly on drinks and service as we didn't order any of the food items. Cedar Room is connected to the Pruneyards Cinema so very convenient to get a drink before or after catching a movie. It's more of a cool pub atmosphere rather than a dark bar. The music though is very loud here so if that isn't what you're looking for, this probably isn't the place for you. There is a decent amount of seating and a bar area as well. We got here around 10pm on a Friday and waited about ~10mins for a table to clear. Our host was super nice and attentive to the table of the party we were going to take. The second they got up to leave, he was already cleaning the table for us. Thai tea long island - Honestly this is the drink that brought us here! We were super excited to try this but it wasn't the best. I was hoping for a spiked thai tea but there was way too much going on with all the darker alcohol. Maybe if it was only one alcohol with a regular thai tea situation, it'd be much better. We ordered 2 of these and we passed it around amongst 5 to finish. Titanium salute - This is the best drink ever! My friend was hesitant in getting it because it has habanero infused syrup but I convinced her the fresh cucumber juice would tone it down. Who could skip out on tajin rim! I am so glad my friend got this because now this drink will be my go-to. I am intrigued to try it with tequila instead of vodka next time. Alone at last/ apple jack - I didn't get to try these but by the looks of my friend's face, he did not like either of them. Pacific pineapple - My friend said this tasted like a light pineapple juice! The beer selection here is pretty diverse. I wish I was able to try the guava sour. Next time for sure. Tequila twister - I was excited about this thinking it'd be similar to El Jardin but it was way too sweet for my liking. I had a headache while drinking it. There was also a ton of ice on the top so I felt like it became watered down too quickly and painful to finish. Watermelon absolut mule - This was my other favorite along with the titanium salute. It's definitely on the lighter side and a bit sweet but definitely not overly sweet like the tequila twister. I would recommend this to those who enjoy moscow mules but want more of a kick. Overall, I had a good experience at Cedar Room and it definitely is a change from going to bars in DTSJ. I most definitely will be back to try their beer selections and get the titanium salute! read more
