We recently had some electrical work done by Lighten Up Electric. They were one of the few electricians that actually gave an estimate (without a charge) before the work was started which we found very helpful. In addition, we had other electricians come to give estimates and Laura had much better ideas of how to work some of the electrical work that wouldn't be obtrusive. The estimate given was clear and concise, and detailed everything we were having done. We had a ceiling fan installed on our front porch and when it was finished, they noticed it looked crooked at the street because the porch was crooked. They went back and made it look level. The attention to detail was great! In addition, anytime they worked, they cleaned everything up so that it looked just as it was before they started. I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. Lighten Up is the best! My wife and I bought a large and very old house in the Germantown section of Philadelphia that had to be completely rewired. Laura and Bill did a great job- they did the entire house- all new wiring, added fixtures to rooms, installed vent fans in the bathrooms, put in outdoor outlets, hung a fixture in the very high stairwell and even salvaged some great older fixtures that we were happy to have stay! The work was immaculate, extremely thorough and their price was more than fair. On top of that they have the best customer service skills and are the easiest people to communicate with. I already posted on Facebook, but wanted to spread the word here on Yelp too. Lighten Up Electric was the perfect choice for rewiring our 1930s, knob & tube, Dutch Colonial. Laura and Bill came in competitively priced, professional, thorough, thoughtful, and courteous and were altogether a great company to do the work. They put in a new 200 amp service, 40 circuit breaker panel, rewired our three bedrooms, bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, foyer, attic, basement and exterior lighting/outlets. We wanted a ceiling fan in one room replaced with a (then crooked) light fixture from another room, and the ceiling fan put into the spot where the light fixture had been. We were able to set an appointment within the week. Laura showed up on time and completed the job promptly and well. The timely service was a ray of sunlight in a massive storm of contractors repeatedly canceling appointments or just not showing up. The light is no longer crooked, and the fan works great, not even wobbling. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this company! read more

The eight projects on my electrical project wish list were all completed yesterday in a very satisfactory fashion as scheduled. One of the items included troubleshooting a non functional spot light in our cathedral ceiling.
