I'm very disappointed with my experience at this tailoring shop. I brought in two pairs of jeans to be resized at the waist and a top to have the straps adjusted. Although the waist size itself was reduced, the way it was done was simply by folding and sewing the waistband, which created a noticeable bump right on my hip bone and made the jeans uncomfortable to wear. Because of this, I had to bring the jeans back to be redone. When I returned, the lady at the counter insisted that I had not paid for the service, even though I had already paid $59.12 for the jeans alterations. I had to search through my credit card charges to prove that the payment had already been made. Unfortunately, the top also had to be redone because the straps were not adjusted properly the first time. Have been to Lighthouse cleaners on several occasions and it's the only cleaner I will use from now on. My clothes always come out perfectly clean and my suits look pristine for the next event. I also use it for some of my nicer dress shirts and have even started bringing in my football jerseys which keep them looking like they're brand new. The clothes are always wrapped nicely which will keep them in that just-cleaned condition until you need them again. The staff are always very friendly and work to get you in and out quickly and efficiently. The price is more than reasonable and it's always done much faster than expected. On a side note, it's also convenient to knock a few errands out at once with the Amazon Dropbox being in the lobby and a Publix right next door. Kima is a delight, she's knowledgeable and funny and so friendly. We started w bedding, then more bedding, then dry cleaning and alterations with suggestions from kima we turned a pair of pants into shorts for my husband. They replaced zippers on our bags. Was a customer for the past several years...until yesterday.  Mentioned to the 'lady' (she was anything but a lady) that on my last batch of pants the crease was on the side (seam) of all my pants (instead of down the middle).  I expected her to say "Sorry about that."  Instead, she angrily asked, "Did you tell us you wanted the crease in the middle?"  I replied that I hadn't, but (after several decades of visiting various dry-cleaners), I've never had to specify such a thing - everyone knows that dress pants should have the crease down the middle of the front of the pants (and not on the side, along the seams).  When I emphasized that I'd like my current batch of pants (that I was dropping off) with the crease down the middle, she became enraged that I was repeating myself too much, and actually called me a 'd*ck'.  Obviously, I took my clothes and drove directly to another dry-cleaner.  For the past 24+ hours I've tried to contact (via e-mail and telephone) the owners (to share my experience with them).  My e-mail message (yesterday afternoon) was ignored, and (early this morning, on the phone) the owner's wife promised me her husband would contact me by lunchtime...Sun is setting and still haven't heard from him.  Their website boasts of their tremendous customer service...Don't believe it for a minute! read more

$10 more is charged to dry clean a woman's suit vs men's...so $26 versus $16. First of all, $26?!?!? And I'm from NYC. I was told it was "because women's suits are lined"...um ok so are many men's. Had a local coupon so I dropped off a ton of dry cleaning after a long trip. Of the 25 items on 22 were returned. They "lost" my husbands brand new shirt from Saks and my brand new shirt from Nordstrom. Funny how that works. Terrible customer service and utter and complete lack of follow-up. I tried lighthouse cleaners as an alternative to a more expensive cleaners. I picked up my clothes and was told there tears in two different shirts and that they were there to begin with. One I can accept but don't ruin a customer's clothing and try to deny any liability. Please stay away from this dry cleaner and spend the extra money some where else. I am quite picky about my dry cleaner, especially when it comes to laundering my dress shirts. Light house cleaners excels in this area. I have never been to a cleaner that took such meticulous care of my clothing, not only my dress shirts, but also my suits, sport coats, pants and neckties. The shirts are all laundered in cold water, and are not subjected to harsh drying as is done at other cleaners. Due to this process, my shirts have zero shrinkage, are beautifully pressed, and presented with the sleeves cross-folded in the front of the shirt. I have been in the men's tailored clothing business for over 12 years, managing men's departments at both Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, and I have never had a cleaner that over-achieves like Lighthouse Cleaners does.
