Let's just say this lovely shop saved my wife's day. She had some Lilly Pulitzer outfits she needed hemmed. The first place we tried used non-stretch thread on a stretchy material. You could see it and when trying to put it on, the lack of stretch made it impossible. The joy returned when my wife went to Thi-Vu and was happily welcomed, reviewed the previous work, and said they would make it right. After a quick fitting and such they took care of it. A few days later the garments were picked up and my wife was shocked at the excellent work Thi-Vu performed. I'll be taking some trousers there soon. I must say, I've made one run to collect some other garments for my wife and the staff are so kind and friendly. It is a breath of fresh air to find a place like this. And those who follow me know that I almost prefer not to share wonderful places like this hahaha, but we are so happy to have found this place. Thi - Vu is always my go to for any alterations. I cannot believe she did not achieve a 5.0 rating. Everything comes out terrific. If u r dissatisfied no worries she will fix it n make it right. I brought 4 pairs if leggings to take in the waist 4". She missed 1 pair no problem I am sorry I fix for u. If she cannot fix it for whatever reason she tells u. Had 3 pants altered. 2 -one week and 1-a week later. All the same exact pants. They charged more a week later for the same pants and said i was wrong about the price. When i brought my receipt in from a week eariler she told me-oh, i gave you a discount-i ask why? Only kept saying she gave me a discount. I dont care how good they are- pants were done fine- i wont go back to a place that makes it up as they go along. There was no difference in the work. All pants were the same. She didnt say she made a mistake or it was harder than she thought. She just raised the price, which she can do. And i dont have to do my tailoring there, which i wont ever again. read more

Had to look for another tailor because my usual one on Northlake Blvd would promise to have my stuff ready at a certain date (usually about a week later) and when I went to pick it up, she would act like we were in disagreement with the pick up date. She usually gave no receipt because I've gone there many years. Last time I went to pick up a pair of pants 3 times until they were finally done and $20 to hem a pair of pants that I already measured. I looked up a new tailor and found Thi-Vu. I took 2 pairs of pants, got a receipt for pick up (2 days later) and $2.00 cheaper than the Northlake place. My pants were done as promised with great service and on time delivery. Very nice people at Thi-Vu. I noticed people bringing in dresses and suits to be altered there, so they know what they are doing at Thi-Vu. I have a wedding in January and I am taking my suit there to get hooked up. Looks like I have a new alteration place. I recommend this place because of the on time service and good prices. read more

Dropped my dress off for alterations on Wednesday the 6th of March . They don't take cards so I had to go to the bank and get money out I pulled out 40$. Paid 32.10 was given 8$ change back up front never was given a receipt. Go to pick the dress up today Saturday March 9th when I was told it would be done. The woman I paid was saying I didn't pay. I was like I paid you and still had the change so I showed her that she was like where is your receipt knowing damn well she never gave me one. Like you have my name number and my money and never wrote paid on my tag. I think she thought I was going to back down but no honey you were not getting another 32.10 out of me. Not to mention I saw in her face when she realized I did pay and handed me the dress she didn't want to let her husband know she had made a mistake so I left there with my dress and will never use them to alter anything again. If you are brown and go there make sure she gives you your receipt so she doesn't try to pull that stunt on you. I know that they won't apologize ever because I'm pretty sure the receipt book that she wrote on shows my payment. Never again. I went to my bank because I didn't want to use the atm at the barber shop next door as she suggested. And for the alteration I got it probably should've been $20 dollars if that I was told by another seamstress but she was to far of a drive away. read more

Had dozens of men shirts altered for a tailored fit. Had dozens of pants altered for a tailored fit - never had one problem. One pair of Pants was tailored so well for the length - I do not know how they did it - the pants still had the original cuff on them at the bottom. I go in and get measured for each Alteration for each Piece of Clothing - even though I buy 5 shirts and 5 pants at a time from the same manufacture and the same size - she still measurers each item on me - instead of measuring one shirt and pants and tailoring them all the same. I imagine - if you have a problem - just tell them and all will be well. read more

I had three pairs of pants to be taken in and an inseam that had pulled apart. Almost $50 later, the pants looked hardly touched because they were still the same amount too big in the waist, and the reattached belt loop was hardly attached. To make matters worse, the pulled apart inseam hadn't even been repaired - the pin was still In it!!! The workmanship was extremely poor. The last pair of pants were new also and needed new elastic in the waist because they came from the store with elastic that hardly had any stretch. The difference was more minimal. Never going back there. It is impossible to find pants that fit, and I only have two pairs that I can wear to work. I was so excited to find someone who was supposed to be able to help with my pants and jeans! What a disappointment. I work 3 jobs and don't have the time to find someone else. read more

My mom has been using Thi-Vu for years. She has had an occasional issue, but in general, she has been very reliable. She does complicated alterations for my mom regularly - shortening sleeves from the shoulders, narrowing shoulders, tapering all kinds of pants, and has even made several outfits for her from scratch. We have recommended her more than once. read more
