Uneven jagged edge of gown she ruined

This is the bottom of my $150 gown I got for my sisters wedding. It was CUT with JAGGED scissors and she charged me for it or was going to hold it hostage. Unbelievable I was in tears upon picking it up. She is an evil woman and a thief.

Dropped my dress off for alterations on Wednesday the 6th of March . They don't take cards so I had to go to the bank and get money out I pulled out 40$. Paid 32.10 was given 8$ change back up front never was given a receipt. Go to pick the dress up today Saturday March 9th when I was told it would be done. The woman I paid was saying I didn't pay. I was like I paid you and still had the change so I showed her that she was like where is your receipt knowing damn well she never gave me one. Like you have my name number and my money and never wrote paid on my tag. I think she thought I was going to back down but no honey you were not getting another 32.10 out of me. Not to mention I saw in her face when she realized I did pay and handed me the dress she didn't want to let her husband know she had made a mistake so I left there with my dress and will never use them to alter anything again. If you are brown and go there make sure she gives you your receipt so she doesn't try to pull that stunt on you. I know that they won't apologize ever because I'm pretty sure the receipt book that she wrote on shows my payment. Never again. I went to my bank because I didn't want to use the atm at the barber shop next door as she suggested. And for the alteration I got it probably should've been $20 dollars if that I was told by another seamstress but she was to far of a drive away.

This dress had arms past my fingers and no lace towards the top. Van did amazing work!

I take all my alterations to her. She does a great job, is timely in getting them done and is reasonably priced

The joy returned when my wife went to Thi-Vu and was happily welcomed, reviewed the previous work, and said they would make it right.

I also brought a Façonnable shirt here for tailoring. I thoroughly check clothes before purchasing because I buy lots of second hand clothing and there was no damage anywhere on the jacket or the shirt. When I picked up the jacket, there were two very noticeable holes in the collar. The jacket costs several hundred dollars new and when I brought it in hoping to make a damage claim, the owner told me that it was "impossible" for them to cause damage to jackets and mocked me, asking whether I really thought they could stay in business if they got holes in people's clothing. She then accused me of being the one that got the holes in it, told me that the fabric was super delicate, and that I should bring it back to wherever I bought it. All of this was in response to me stating that it had no damage when I brought it in and that it had damage when I received it. I was not even given a refund for the service. Based on their google reviews, it sounds like this is a common experience for those unlucky enough to have decided on prestige cleaners. The next day, I came in to pick up my Façonnable shirt that was getting tailored (it was finished late, so I couldn't pick it up the day before). The cashier, when she brought it out, told me that I had brought it in with damaged cuffs that were detached from the sleeves meaning the sleeves had holes between them and the cuffs. She said that it couldn't have been them because the seamstress did not touch the sleeves and that "maybe I should look at clothing better before I buy it secondhand." This is a lie. The thread that was used to take in the body (dark black polyester thread on a red cotton shirt) was also in the sleeves and ended right where the holes she accused me of bringing it in started. The cuff was clearly separated to allow for the sleeve alteration and was not reattached. I took pictures of this and brought it in demanding to speak with the seamstress (because the cashier lied to me) and when she looked at it she said "oops I'm so sorry." While the seamstress was apologetic and seemed very nice, it is hard to believe that this all was an accident. I would prefer to give business owners the benefit of the doubt. Everyone makes mistakes. However, being mocked and given no avenue for any kind of resolution to this dispute has left me feeling very disgruntled. If you plan on bringing clothing here, I recommend that you don't. If you want to anyways, make sure you thoroughly photograph anything you are bringing in right before and right after. It might cost you even more than their overpriced services.

Overall, while the service was slow - I had to wait a few days which i suppose is understandable seeing 1:I dropped off a dozen pair of slacks to be altered/hemmed with a side slit (think Graeme McDowell PGA Tour) and 2: it was January in the heart of their season. The quality of work, however, was FANTASTIC. Best work I've seen. Not what I'd call a steal but nothing really is in the winter down here. All my slacks are high-end lightweight wool and the work was spot-on what I wanted. Huge props for the quality, though I wish the turnaround was faster than a week.

I was worried about dropping it off so close to the wedding date, but Mr. Joseph finished it for me within a matter of hours! Granted it was a small job, the dress didn't need much altering, but the workmanship was exactly what I was hoping for. He was a very kind man and immediately saw what needed to be done. When I asked about the price, he said $1000 with a straight face and then we both started laughing-- he ended up giving me a GREAT deal since he told me it was really not much work. I have another dress in my closet that needs altering and I am definitely bringing my business back to Joseph.
