Came to the kia forum for a concert & there was a man standing outside this building offering $30 parking, no other cars were parked in this parking lot so we were the first to actually accept the parking as we were parking and the man was guiding us in he rudely rushed us to get out the car we needed 2 minutes to grab our belongings and cash to take with us into the venue and to pay for the parking spot and he kept repeating himself in a loud tone for us to get out the car immediately & i thought it was extremely rude and suspicious my partner finally told him to calm down and not to rush us out the car and he t then threatened us saying " don't make me call my homegirl you're not gonna like that " i responded and told him we were never trying to disrespect him but we felt that it was extremely rude and that he had no other cars to assist so why are we being rushed & he responds " i want to sit down already that's why ". when we pulled up he was already standing up yelling out $30 parking so i don't understand where that energy came from. it was the most disrespectful and unprofessional experience ever. this man was an african american man that looked pretty heavy in weight and i felt it was ghetto that he threatened us over not getting out the car fast enough at his convenience. if you're gonna send workers out to charge for parking do better and don't send somebody that is going to power trip every customer that comes by that is how you lose out on business and next time he's gonna approach the wrong person crazy that will affect not just his safety but also the business at lighthouse memorials. read more

There are no words to express how I feel about the passing of my mother. With all the emotion during this time, and all the details that needed to be taken care of, I am extremely grateful to Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions for all the care and concern that was shown to myself, my sister and our family. We very much wanted to have a service that met all the rules and guidelines for keeping people safe during this time, but also wanted to have a space that could accommodate more than 10. I never thought I'd be yelping a mortuary. This has been the most difficult 30 days of my life. My family and I had to suddenly bury my sister and didn't know where to start when it came to laying her to rest. We're from the Los Angeles area and had only been to funerals at Angelus and Grace. Nothing against them but those location did not fit our loved one. She was vibrant and full or life. Those places have always been dim. I remember seeing lighthouse but had never been to a funeral there. When we met with our coordinator at the cemetery she mentioned how another family had also spoken highly of the lighthouse. Without an appointment we walked right in. We were greeted by Ashley who from the very start took care of us. She mentioned the arranger had just taken a meeting with another family but she'd do her best to provide an overview. We were wow'd right away but the attentiveness to our needs and the thorough descriptions she provided. She told us we could have the funeral and reception there and the whole facility was ours for the timeframes agreed upon. She also emphasized that once the reception was over they'd clean up for us. We knew this was the perfect location to lay our family member to rest. We met with the arranger, Dedric, the next day. At this time Dedric also handled us with such care and made us feel welcomed. Honestly we forgot we were planning a funeral. This place was clean EVERYWHERE! We were so pleased with Deidric's and Ashley's hospitality. That duo is why I'd recommend this place to everyone in the future. We had one bad experience toward the end when it came to cleaning up but I wasn't worried because Ashley came right on in and said I got it from here. read more

Wowwwwww where do I start with how wonderful Alex and Tina were in helping prepare my grandmother's celebration of life. Can I just say that this team here deserves many thanks and rewards for always going above and beyond when taking care of our family. A Memorial was held for a close friend. The parking lot had plenty of room. I had to load in some items on a cart. The room where the service was easily accessible. We used the services of Lighthouse Memorials McCormick Mortuary's Inglewood location recently and my family was very pleased with our experience. Our funeral director was Mr. Springer and he explained the process thoroughly over the phone and even more thoroughly when our family met with him in person. We their mortuary services and their facility for the viewing, but not for the actual funeral because we needed more seating for the funeral services. Our family received a lot of compliments from family and friends about the facility set up and the viewing over all. Thank you to everyone at Lighthouse Memorial who made this a pleasant experience. Pros: For the viewing you get to use the entire mortuary and reception room for your loved one and there are no other viewings during that period. The viewing is in the chapel where there is plenty of seating. This allowed family and friends to view our loved one, sit and listen music and watch the celebration of life video of our loved one. You can make a cd to play your loved one's favorite music and it plays softly in the chapel and in the reception room. You can also make a dvd video to be viewed and it is also played simultaneously in the chapel and in the reception room. (As of this review the mortuary can make the dvd for you or you can make your own). You can serve food and/or refreshments in the reception room when you use the facility for the viewing. The funeral director, Mr. Springer, was knowledgeable and provided us with a range of services provided from low to high. We did not feel pressured to spend more or less during our meeting. The ladies that worked on the weekend for the viewing were kind and helpful. We coordinated with the mortuary to have doves released at the graveside and to have the horse and carriage transport the casket to the graveside once we reached the cemetery. The coordination was flawless with McCormick as the intermediary. We could have gotten the doves cheaper on our own, but we didn't want to deal with getting all the timing right and it was one more item we didn't have to worry about on the day of. The mortuary employees who met us at the church for the funeral services were timely and professional. Cons: They have ample parking, but it may not be enough if you have a large number of visitors at one time. Once the mortuary realized the parking situation they gave us permitted stickers allowing visitors to park nearby. It worked out fine for us, but just something to be aware of. read more

Dietrich staff was very comforting to our needs The staff was committed to assisting us on every " Detail was discussed with them. My family was very, very pleased with this company. This staff worked extremely hard on pleasing our family. The facilities in Inglewood very clean very pleasant and very up-to-date on what we needed for our funeral arrangements. I told Dietrich if I'd lived in the area I would highly recommend him and his Staff to perform my friends and colleagues with their families or funeral arrangements. Our funeral arranger Deidric Brown was not the most welcoming person to meet with. If you are in distress and need a person who is comforting Deidric is NOT the person for you to see. Deidric is ALL about the sale and not about making sure you are comfortable he is very direct and has a bit of an attitude when you ask too many questions. Lighthouse has three other Mortuary's one in Torrance and the other in Redondo Beach. Even though we had to pay an up charge to utilize the Torrance facility, it was well worth it. it is a much better facility and the staff was so accommodating and comforting. They took care of our every need. Note...we chose to use our own motorcycle crew and Deidric said absolutely not we had to use theirs, well we used our own and saved a ton of money.... read more

I have worked with Lighthouse and specifically Deidric, Reggie and a few other Directors on at least nine funerals and they are fabulous. I plan funerals as a coordinator for work at a church and if ever a family is in need I send them straight to Deidric and the team at the Prairie location and the one in Torrance is great too. Planning the funeral services for a loved one is a very difficult process. This is why I am so thankful that I came across Alex and Tina at McCormick Mortuary. I wanted to give my dad a final goodbye with the notion that this is a "Celebration of Life" rather than a "Funeral" and both Tina and Alex supported my vision. By far, McCormick Mortuary was the BEST place where my father's funeral services could have taken place. We are residents of Inglewood and wanted to find something close to home that offered a tranquil atmosphere, superior amenities, and a presentable gathering place - we found all of that at McCormick. At no point was my family nor I pressured to use their added services (ie- flower arrangements, horse drawn carriage, catering services, etc.). In fact, they went as far as trying to help us save money by suggesting low cost alternatives for the funeral arrangements. Additionally, I decided to create my own slideshow tribute for my father and they were kind enough to let us use their tech equipment to project the slideshow tribute from my laptop. For a moment there, I feared that they might not let me use their equipment since I didn't purchase the additional service of having THEM create the slideshow for me, (which cost more) but to my surprise they were absolutely kind and allowed me to go right ahead and use their equipment. I was taken aback by their kindness and company policy. Suggestion: Their parking lot is a bit small and if you expect a lot of people to attend the wake/funeral services, then definitely make sure you ask them about the parking passes they hand out so that visitors can park in the residential streets. Even my uncle said to me, "I have never attended such a beautiful and more special funeral service. I have been to many funerals and this is by far, the most special one". And I know for a fact that the help we got at McCormick contributed to the fact that my father's services were so special. I couldn't have asked for more. It was so important to me to give my dad the best of everything for his "Celebration of Life" tribute/event and we got just that! -Exceptional service. High quality amenities. Highly recommend. In the midst of tragedy, the last thing you want is the headache of planning a funeral while grieving. I was assisting my sister in law who had lost her husband suddenly and unexpectedly. Of course, she needed as much support as possible so I stepped in to assist. I had originally contacted a well known cemetery and mortuary a few blocks up the street but the level of unprofessionalism became totally unacceptable. They treated my loved one as a number and not a real person to the point where I had to make sure that his remains were not released to them in case there was a mix up in the timing of cancelling them. I contacted Lighthouse McCormick Center and from the initial phone call, a level of professionalism that immediately brought comfort and ease. A concern was having the remains recovered from the coroner's office asap and within 2 days, I received a call that it had been completed (after waiting 4 days from the other place). Deidric Brown assisted my family throughout the entire process from the beginning til the end. He genuinely cared as much about every detail as we did and made sure that everything was done with a level of respect and concern. The day of the actual memorial, Deacon Henderson assisted with the set up and could not have been more accommodating throughout the entire service. As there were probably more than 70 unexpected attendees, he directed them to the overflow area while assisting in keeping the service on schedule and moving the people around. I was extremely pleased with the overall staff as they were accommodating as possible and cordial to the guest but more importantly, to my sister in law who was as expected, unable to deal with any of the planning. My only criticism of the whole day was that the Dove Release company was not on the premises at the specified time and in an effort to locate him, I asked a very accommodating young lady at the front desk if she had a number to contact them since I did not. In the meantime the company called and said he was outside but couldn't find a parking space so I left to assist him. Upon returning, a woman with blonde hair, (who by the way came in and out of the service but never introduced herself nor said hello as we were setting up prior to the service), was in the receptionist desk area and was overheard stating that " we don't give out numbers" ( this, to a business that had been contracted through Lighthouse) to which I informed the other young lady that it wasn't needed. That aside, the entire experience was was made bearable by the assistance of Mr. Brown and greatly appreciated. Hopefully no one will need to, but realistically, if ever I am asked to refer someone in need of funeral services, I will definitely be sending them to Lighthouse Mortuary & Receptions and ask for Deidric Brown. My husband and I were planning my mother's memorial service. The level of planning that goes into a funeral, in the thick of a pandemic and grief can be overwhelming. The receptionist at the Inglewood location Ashley was very kind every time we went in to make our plans. Our arranger Deidric worked with us and answered all our questions even if we asked them multiple times. He was very nice and patient. We went to the Torrance location a few times in the course of arrangements and the woman at the front desk was also always very warm and kind. Our service was held at the Redondo Beach location and our service director Reggie was very professional and helped us fill in the gaps of our service. There was even a flower arrangement that had been left at the Inglewood mortuary and they made sure to get it to us in time for the funeral service. The service was outside and socially distanced perfect for covid. Grief can be paralyzing but Lighthouse held our hands every step of the way. FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY!! The counselors Alex and Tina were so professional, understanding, courteous, patient and kind. A co-worker and friend of mine utilized the sister property Rice Mortuary in Torrance a couple of months before my mother passed. As soon as my mother transitioned on and I was asked where should we take her, I had no doubts in my mind as to where to go. These people truly understand what it's like to loose a loved one and they hold your hand every step of the way. I felt as though they were part of the family. They have the patience of God. My family was walked through every aspect of sending a loved one on. Attention to every little detail with professional suggestions on how to handle every aspect of a loved ones service. The facility is top notch. First class all the way, did I say that? Yes, first class. We held moms services at her church in Los Angeles, and the repass in McCormick's reception hall. My family and friends were all impressed with the accomodations. I was told by one family member that "it just couldn't have been better, it was the best service and reception she'd ever attended". Alex and Tina were truly a blessing to us in this time of mourning the loss of mom, grandmother, sister and beloved friend. We wanted for nothing. All our needs were met with this facility. I cannot praise the services high enough that we received from McCormick's and their staff. If you're looking for exceptional service, with first class staff members this is the place to go when it's time to take care of your loved ones final arrangements. My experience with the staff at McCormick Mortuary was exceptional!! When we walked in the door, Ashley was so pleasant and professional. She explained things to my sister and I and made us feel welcome. Hector Medina was very professional, caring and compassionate throughout the entire process. He worked with us even when he discovered we had a problem with the life insurance, he gave us an alternative. The DVD they made added such a nice touch to the service, everyone loved it! Not the best service in town. I had to constantly keep on top of Jackie our assigned counselor to ensure things were getting done. She lacked customer service skills and was poorly organized. Glad OCD tendencies helped in this scenario. The Mortuary has to work on their upkeep, maintenance -particluraly before and during services, and the strong chemical smell that is very noticeable. Lastly, they should ensure their staff is able to operate their audio visual equipment in addition to not eating the food for the service without asking. The parking attendant helped himself to our food while the services were taking place. Smh. Definitely will not be using them again. read more

I would actually give 0 stars if the option was available. My beloved husband passed in December 2017, however, it has taken me some time to write this review because I am still upset with the service given to me and my family. I feel angry and sick, every time I drive by this facility. Deidric Brown was my point of contact. During the Repass, the lights went out. The staff person told me this happens frequently due to the stadium being built across the street. Leads me to wonder why wouldn't you have a generator since you know this happens often? Next issue, in the over flow room, the tv was not working. Therefore, mourning love ones could only hear and not see my husband's service. Another issue, one of the staff removed all the cards off the flowers. So they gave me a stack of cards, with a note of the flowers description. I could never figure out whom sent what? During this time of stress, I did not have the time nor energy to solve the puzzle. Simply, they should have just made sure the cards were attached to the arrangements. Finally, and the most disturbing. Deidric called me to tell me my husband was cremated BEFORE we wanted. Myself as well as my sister-in-law asked Deidric if he could wait, put the husband's cremation on hold, because we had to deal with some other outstanding issues first. He told us he had to ask his manager how long he could hold my husband. I understand space is "money" for this industry. I get it; I actually was willing to pay an extra holding fee. While we were waiting to get an update from Deidric; he called to tell me they proceeded with my husbands cremation without my knowledge. They made a mistake; the crematory did not know my husband was "hold" status. My dad was heart broken, as he was planning to accompany my husband during the cremation. They took this choice away from me and my family. I also wanted my husband cremated in one of his favorite outfits, which I had yet to give to Deidric, because it was still before his scheduled cremation. Since they screwed this up, I wonder if the remains given to me are really my husbands? This facility looks nice, but the operations are below standards. read more

I was devastated by the sudden loss of my husband Tony but had to plan a service for him. We had a diverse selection of family and friends so didn't seek a church so as not to leave anyone out. A friend mentioned recently attending a service at McCormick Mortuary in Inglewood. Once I visited I knew it was the perfect place to celebrate my husband's life. This place is elegant. There is a beautiful entrance, large chapel and reception room with kitchen, ample parking for your guests and state of the art technology for your videos and background music. Hector was our wonderful go-to guy who helped us with all the planning, Tina was so kind and assisted with the paperwork and service as well as Michelle on the day of the service. I couldn't have asked for a better person than Rick Squillace as our Life Celebrant master of ceremonies. I am forever grateful they were there for us at this most difficult time and would recommend them wholeheartedly.
