I just wanted to thank Rachal's for helping us bring our daughter home. We lost her too soon and not many places helped with babies lost during pregnancy. They were very sympathetic and kind, and even through many phone calls that I made, they were always patient and informative. With this sudden loss, it was also financially challenging because we chose to bring her home where she belonged. They helped us with payment arrangements without pressuring us with due dates and processed everything in a timely manner. The whole office staff have been amazing and we felt calm during this whole process as if we knew them forever. We didn't feel like we were just another "customer". We recently had a stillborn and we randomly picked Rachal's funeral home from a list of funeral homes provided by a social worker at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. They said they would pick up our baby daughter and deliver her ashes to us in Santa Barbara. After we went home, we realized that we didn't have her hand prints and footprints from the hospital. We were panicked and anxious to have anything to memorialize her life. We asked Emilia (who works for Rachal) to remake her prints for us. We purchased all the materials for them, canvas boards, frames, and we were charged $400 to take her imprints, etc. We didn't mind paying the money because what mattered to us was to have these keepsakes. We waited for about a week and our worst nightmare began when we received them. Out of 8 canvases, 6 of them were FORGED. They PAINTED OUR DAUGHTER'S FINGERPRINTS and some of her palm!!!! We were shocked beyond words that the Funeral Home we entrusted to be compassionate and caring in our greatest time of despair could be so unethical! How could they think of forging our baby's hand prints???? Sadly, we couldn't even remake her prints because our daughter had already been cremated. The loss of our daughter has already been the most heart-wrenching pain we have ever experienced, and the fact that we don't have authentic hand prints of hers is devastating. We tried to email them about our frustration and they have yet to respond over a week later.... I am writing this review because we don't want any bereaving families to go through a similar pain. If you are choosing a funeral home, find somewhere else with ethics and honesty, and most importantly, with respect to the loss of loved ones. read more
