Optima Funeral Home is located in a mixed use area inn Los Angeles. Hugo (president) is very passionate about this business. He genuinely cares about his clients. The staff are all very personable. I attended a funeral service here a few weeks ago. Everything from start to finish was top notch. They made the family feel a sense of comfort. I highly recommend this place.

Let me start off by saying during these difficult times of loosing loved ones during covid it is hard to find a Mortuary to perform services. Hugo did not hesitate to help and go above and beyond with my mother in laws service. He was able to help with every step and also make sure we were able to grant all her last wishes. We were able to have a in home viewing just like she wanted and were able to have a the best farewell she deserved . Thank you Hugo.

Long over due review. My mom passed away in the morning, we met with Elmer in the afternoon, and by the evening my mom was already taken to their facility. The price was reasonable, Elmer really helped us make this process more normal for us. We all had bunch of questions, and he answered every one of them. My mom was taken to Honduras where she was born, and they had told us that it will take 2 weeks for her to arrive to Honduras. We express to Elmer to help us speed this process, and he did. With in a week she was in Honduras. Honduras is a bit more warmer and she stayed good through out all the process and viewing. I have recommended them to a few friends, and everyone always gives me good reviews about them. I am so sorry about your loss! If you are reading this, just know that no matter how bad things get, God will be by your side!

I want to start off by thanking Elmer & Hugo at Optima Funeral Home, it has been one month since the burial of my dear beloved husband. Elmer and Hugo helped me and my family arrange every single detail of the viewing and the burial, they were extremely helpful and honest I cannot recommend them enough. I am tremendously thankful for the service and the help they provided us with, we had gotten quotes from 3 different funeral homes and thank God we came across Optima. They inform you and let you know exactly what the total cost will be and don't give you surprises at the last minute. If I were to ever need your services again I will absolutely go to you without any doubt. Thank you guys so much for going out of your way to make sure we gave him the goodbye he deserved.

Losing a loved one is one of the most painful experiences anyone can endure -- and unfortunately,…read moreFuneraria Agape only made that process more difficult and traumatic for my family. What was supposed to be a dignified and respectful farewell for my father turned into a nightmare of disorganization, miscommunication, and blatant disregard for our grief. From the beginning, we were passed around between staff, starting with Dulce, who handed our case off to Clara without a proper handover or clear communication. Clara and I established a plan and timeline, but what followed was anything but structured. Despite multiple conversations and providing all necessary information for the death certificate and international transport, critical details were repeatedly entered incorrectly. We were coordinating the transfer of my father's remains from Los Angeles to Mexico, and these errors caused major complications with the Mexican consulate -- adding unnecessary stress to an already painful process. Timeline of events: * My father passed away on 6/19. * The doctor signed the necessary documents on 6/29. * Agape didn't register the death until 7/3. * Cremation finally occurred on 7/5. On 7/5, we delivered an urn we had purchased for my father -- only to later find out that he had already been in Agape's possession. Why was I not told this? When I confronted Dulce, her explanation was weak and dismissive: "Clara dropped the ball." To add insult to injury, she offered me $50 as compensation -- a gesture that felt like a slap in the face. This was never about money -- it was about respect, transparency, and honoring my father's memory. The entire process was exhausting, emotionally draining, and filled with preventable mistakes. No family should have to chase down answers or correct paperwork while grieving. Funeraria Agape may present a polished appearance, but be warned: they treat your loved ones like logistics, not human beings. Their customer service is, quite frankly, dead -- and their lack of professionalism and empathy was a betrayal during one of the most vulnerable times of our lives. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place at all costs. Your loved one deserves better. So do you.

It is never easy to lose a loved one. Our loved one passed away in our home, as they had wished,…read morewhich meant that we needed to make arrangements and could not move forward until a funeral home came to our house and helped us with next steps. Likewise our kind local sheriff needed to remain with us until someone arrived. Originally we contacted a funeral home in our area that is well known. We were given an estimated time of arrival of "within the hour." When that time came and passed I called and was given the same estimated time of "within the hour." When I was on my third hour of waiting with our loved one still on the floor where we had tried CPR, and the kind sheriff, patiently waiting, I began to call other funeral homes. I left a message at 2 others then on my third try I contacted "A Serenity Funeral & Cremation Services" and Daniel answered the phone. Despite having a busy morning right from the get-go he was kind, compassionate and forthright. He let me know he was having a busy morning and would do his very best to get there within the hour. He arrived within 30 minutes along with another gentleman. The compassion, tenderness and grace that they showed our loved one and to us, who we're newly grieving was an answered prayer. They reverently allowed us our final goodbyes and had no problem when I wanted to include a special blanket to wrap our loved one in. Daniel sat with us, answered questions and patiently walked us through the process. The kindness and care that Serenity Funeral and cremation services showed us should be a model for the industry. When we finished all the paperwork we realized that "A Serenity" was actually a fraction of the price of what we were going to pay with the locally touted company that continually told me it would be "within the hour." I highly recommend a Serenity Funeral and cremation services. While death is a part of life Daniel from Serenity made us feel as if the loss of our loved one was the most important thing in the world at that moment ..which for us it was. Thank you Daniel.
