I've been meaning to leave a comment about my experience with Optima. I just found it difficult to revisit that moment since it's still so premature... It has been 3 months and 7 days since my discovery of Optima... I wish to thank the entire team: Genesis, Austin, Luke, Doña Blanca and most importantly Hugo. This entire process has been very difficult from start to finish. We had no idea on what to do or where to go since my mothers death was so sudden. I came across Optima that had great reviews, and I understand why. Optima were there to walk us through this. Genesis was the first to answer that desperate phone call and hearing her how professional and compassionate she was to explain to me the steps on how they handle these situations brought me at ease. The team were so understanding, compassionate, kind and patient since it was our first death we had to deal with. I really appreciate Hugo's words and how understanding he was about Death and for him to share about his life experiences too. My dad and I would sometimes quote what Hugo told us when we first went to the office. It pains me that we lost my best friend... I am so grateful that we were able to honor my mother at such a beautiful place, with an understanding staff. Austin who took in my mothers clothes and dressed her. He was attentive during the viewing and assisted our family and friends. I really appreciate the special moment he had us share as our last goodbye to my mother... The chapel is designed beautifully. It can fit 100+ people, A/C, a courtyard area and the chapel comes with 2 TV screens and we were able to utilize that to play a personalized video I created to show to our family and friends. I was able to play songs I dedicated to her and the 2 songs she wished to be played for her when her time came... There is also a gathering hall to welcome our guests to take a moment and be served beverages and food during the service. What I liked most was, we were given the freedom to express our love for our departed mother. Our family and friends appreciated the hospitality and the way the chapel was designed with visuals and music to remember how she was and especially the food we were able to bring and share with our friends and family. Austin who was there for any questions or assistance. At the end of the service Hugo gifted us a beautiful Memorial Tapestry. Overall, It is a long process especially if you do not have anything prepared, like we did. It really tested my patience but Optima was a phone call/ text away from any doubt or questions we had. This year has been really tough, from losing my job and now losing my mother... Optima took care of us. What I am trying to say here is that from the entirety of this experience my dad and I decided to take into consideration to join a plan with Optima, because death is never guaranteed and it's important to have a plan so no one would have to stress over anything else besides the grief that will forever linger in our hearts. Hugo, Blanca, Genesis and all the staff at Optima Funeral Home were absolutely amazing to work with. They were all so kind, passionate and patient with helping my family and I make all of the necessary arrangements for my father-in-laws services. Long over due review. My mom passed away in the morning, we met with Elmer in the afternoon, and by the evening my mom was already taken to their facility. The price was reasonable, Elmer really helped us make this process more normal for us. We all had bunch of questions, and he answered every one of them. My mom was taken to Honduras where she was born, and they had told us that it will take 2 weeks for her to arrive to Honduras. We express to Elmer to help us speed this process, and he did. With in a week she was in Honduras. Honduras is a bit more warmer and she stayed good through out all the process and viewing. I have recommended them to a few friends, and everyone always gives me good reviews about them. I am so sorry about your loss! Optima Funeral Home handled my mother's services last week , me and family were very pleased with all the help they provided to us. Genesis did the paper work for my father she spoke Spanish which was so important to us since my father does not speak English, we had never had to go through funeral arrangements so we were not knowledgeable of anything. Genesis took care and explain everything to my father she was very detailed , caring and compassionate about everything. The day of the viewing/burial Hugo and his son were the ones that handled the services he helped us with everything from letting guests know the times we were staying for the viewing to where the cafeteria was to the time we had to leave to the cemetery. When my mother passed she was moved to Optima because the hospital did not have a morgue. They were quick to answer my call and send me information on doc you sign to start the process. After signing the documents communication from Optima was almost nonexistent. Not once did they return a call from a voicemail or communicate back through an email although I repeatedly called and left voicemails with multiple people. The only time I got any communication with them was when they actually answered the phone which was at best rare. Add a couple of days short of a month from the time my mother passed they finally were able to move her back from California to Oklahoma and I will see you at no fault of their own due to permit issues with the county of LA. its hurting me to even make this review because my grandmother passed on August 4, 2020 and it took over a week just for them to tell me the price of the urn i choose , finalize the death certificate and allow me to make the payment..on August 27th i called to check on the status of her cremation and a woman told me she "cant find my granny" so i hung up , called back & got Hugo who gave me completely different information from Lucas who called 30 minutes later..its now August 28th and they have "located her" yet they have still not cremated my granny allegedly due to 1 signature that they cant obtain from hospice care (whom i called & they informed me that the funeral home sent INCORRECT PAPERWORK TWICE which is the reason for the delay on my granny being cremated)...On top of the fact that i live in Las Vegas & they wanted an additional $150 to send the urn so i opted to pick it up in 3 weeks when i was told it would be ready (HOWEVER WE'RE GOING INTO WEEK 4 NOW AND HER BODY IS STILL JUST SITTING THERE) i hate that i didnt have the option to send her elsewhere...they also wont release how they obtained her body to begin with because she was supposed to go to the city morgue not HERE & IM FURIOUS THIS EVEN HAPPENED!!! read more
