T&T stands for Tina & Tiffany, after the founder's 2 daughters. T&T are also the initials of 2 early investors as well. You can find this market in the same plaza as Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters with plenty of parking. I love shopping at T&T Supermarket with such a vast selection of fresh produce, seafood/ meat, dried and fresh noodles, bakery goods, teas, premade foods/ meals, etc (there is also a hot food bar you can pick from and serve yourself and pay by the weight). My husband and I stopped by this particular location this afternoon. It was pretty busy, but that was expected on a Saturday. We got our cart (requires $1 to use but you will get it back after you return it) and then went inside to shop. Coming from Montreal and shopping there earlier this week, I was surprised to find that some of the same items at this location actually cost a little more. For example, I was looking for this special Hong Kong Milk Tea bag that saw that it cost $1 more for the box than at the location in Montreal. I like that this market is clean and does not have that familiar smell that some Asian markets may have. Aisles are wide enough to navigate your cart through and each aisle is labeled accordingly to help shoppers find where they may want to shop in. During this shopping visit, my husband and I ended up purchasing a live lobster. He really wanted to get some seafood during our trip and also that the vacation rental we are staying in has a good size steamer in the kitchen and figured it would be good to cook it while we are here. For lobster and crabs, you pick the one you want and place it in one of the plastic baskets, then you can bring it up to the employee behind the seafood counter and they will weight it for you, bag it and place a price sticker on it for you. I like that there is a self check out area, as the line for that went by so much faster than the other lines. Overall, a positive experience and would frequent this location if I lived here.

This Loblaws is a lot swankier than other Loblaws in Ottawa. They have a fancy patisserie area…read morewhere you can see staff making pastries and decorating cakes. Their selection of baked goods is greater than other Loblaws. They also have a Starbucks inside. Their prepared foods area is also a lot nicer looking than other locations. This Loblaws is huge. There's a big Joe Fresh clothing section. They have a good cheese section. Their floral section is also good, like they have lots of flowers, not just some wilted carnations like at some smaller locations. This location reminds me a lot of the present-day Loblaws on St. Clair Avenue West at Bathurst Street in Toronto. I say present-day because most of my memories of that Loblaws are from when I was a kid and they definitely did renovations since then, because it wasn't much to look at back then, but is super nice now, lol. There is a special place in my heart for the above Toronto Loblaws, so that may contribute to why I really like this Loblaws in Barrhaven. I'm rarely in Barrhaven, but the times that I've been to this Loblaws I've scored some great sales. They have lots of marked down items (50% off) either because they are short-dated or they are discontinued or they didn't sell well. Fortunately for me, I have weird tastes, lol, so I tend to like things that don't sell well, like that wacky chip flavour no one liked, bring it on! That crazy ice cream flavour? Yum yum! And short dated? No problem! I don't like to delay gratification when it comes to food, I mean sometimes packages barely make it to my car before they are opened and my mouth is full, haha. Anyway, I like this Loblaws. If it were closer to my house, I would be there all the time. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

The store is connected to the restaurant, just to the left as you enter. The whole experience was like being transported to a nice warm place with sunny, inviting beaches! Just what I needed on this cold January day! This was a fun shop to browse in, as it caters to Latino flavours. There are little packages of spices for sale, hanging along one wall. I was tempted to try some, but honestly, I don't know what some of them were, and I can't take those deep spicy flavours the way I used to! Hanging on the ceiling there were several Pinatas, and I'm sure there were enough candies and other goodies on display that you could have filled at least one of these party favours up! I am going to bear this place in mind for the next time my sister and her hubby come to visit - because they sell his favourite drinks in large bottles than I have seen for sale elsewhere: Jarritos! This was a nice spot to visit, with free parking around the back. Don't forget to pick up your Pupusas next door! They offer take away as well as sit down service. There is nothing quite like a warm Latino welcome!

We were also able to buy queso fresco and a tortilla warmer (we're those people now, I suppose) plus a few neat Latin foods we weren't familiar with. The store is jam-packed with a very eclectic assortment of, yes, tortillas, but also beans, rice, spices, cooking tools, dry goods, souveniers from trips you've never taken, clothes, etc., but the cashier, who also seemed to be the only one working at the restaurant while we were there, opened early for us when he saw us waiting was *extremely* friendly and helpful. (As opposed to my visit that morning to Herb and Spice, where the cashier had visibly sighed when he saw me waiting to buy eggs for breakfast, then disappeared until he unlocked the door a minute late... just saying.) They also had a fairly good assortment of dried chiles at a reasonable price. I would happily give La Tiendita four stars if they had a wider selection and maybe some produce but it's just not big enough to fit anything more. (If it was, they would have fit it!) We'll definitely be back for more tortillas, which were excellent once reheated properly. I've heard the pupusas at the restaurant are quite good, so we'll check them out the next time we're here, too. Don't let the fact that the place is bursting at the seams set you off if you're looking for Latin American groceries in Ottawa.

The store is bright, and the aisles are wider with a lot more variety of products to chose from. P.S. their candy aisle is heaven. The produce is why I come here in the first place. I trust their quality and the prices are not bad either. I love how they have stations to get hot food, like burgers, fries and pizza. I recommend their fries, and usually always get some at the end of my shopping trip. They remind me of chip wagon fries, and are cooked and salted perfectly. Their poutine is also amazing. They still have their famous salad bar and hot bar, but due to covid, the salads are pre packaged and ready to grab, although if you still want to make your own, they have an employee working that section to serve you. There is a bridgehead coffee shop inside this location as well. Parking lot has improved with plenty of spaces. I cannot say enough good things about the new store.

Good parking and access make it easy to get to. Farm boy seems to be converting slowly over to private branding, and so far, of what I've tried, the quality is good. It's a bit of a lost art these days to pack groceries properly, so thank you to their training team.

Looks like it's a local place to gather and they have a community hall attached where it looks like some bands play music and their is a dance floor. Quaint little cafe and "Neat" place to visit.

The Longer Version: This small grocery store reminds me of the small grocery stores my mom used to take me to on weekends in Toronto's Chinatown when I was a kid. The store is not all that aesthetically pleasing, and some would consider it dingy looking, but it is functional. I like coming here for dried noodles. They also have cakes and cookies from Hung Loi bakery in Toronto. Prices are reasonable and selection is decent. I like small independent grocery stores, but I fear they are a dying breed. So while these days you can get lots of Asian items at mainstream supermarkets like Loblaws, Metro and Sobeys, I do prefer to support the little guys when I can. #172 (2025)

TL;DR/The Short Version: Cool grocery store and bakery that…read moresells British foods. The baked goods were ok, I enjoyed some more than others. The Long Version: I stopped in British Pride Bakery to check it out since I was in the area for other reasons. I was impressed with the amount of snacks they had imported from the UK. They had lots of biscuits (cookies), chocolate and crisps (chips). They had a clearance section where items were marked down to half-price. These were all nearing or past their best before dates. They also had clearance items throughout the store. I was there for the baked goods though. I got a Corned Beef Pasty ($4.50), a Custard Tart ($3.50) and a Butter Tart ($2.95). After I ordered the pasty, I saw they had warm ones in the warmer by the cash register (different flavours though). The ones in the glass displays are cold, so I had to take it home to warm it up. The Corned Beef Pasty was ok, but the filling was mostly potatoes with very little corned beef. The pastry was flaky and it was good but I enjoyed the sweet items I bought more. The custard tart was delicious. I like that it wasn't too sweet. The custard was soft and creamy. The crust was a little too buttery for me, lol. But I'm sure that's an odd complaint. The butter tart was sweeter and also tasty. It has no raisins or nuts. I prefer to have something in the filling, but those who like just the buttery goo will like the ones here. The place is spacious, brightly lit and clean. Staff were very courteous and pleasant. FYI: They charge a 2.26% surcharge if you use a credit card to pay. They are transparent about this, the cashier advised me and it's posted right next to their payment machine. I personally find this charge hefty. I chose not to pay it by using debit instead. This store opened November 13, 2023. It's a chain. The first store opened in Cambridge, ON in 2010. They have since expanded to 8 locations across Ontario. This Stittsville location is in a plaza. It's also across the street from another plaza that has a Food Basics and a Shoppers Drug Mart, so if I'm really keen, I can do a massive errand run. Anyway, this location is just ok, imo. There's nothing too remarkable about it. Their discount/clearance section is really tucked away though, by the washrooms. I don't know why they put it there, because I'm sure most shoppers miss it. It's never been all that busy any time that I've been. Like even during the Covid-19 Pandemic when other Loblaws had huge lineups to get in, this one had less congestion. Staff tend to be a bit less friendly than at other nearby locations, at least that has been my observation. Lots of free parking.

The produce, meat, and bakery departments are usually well stocked. Outside of peak hours (early weekday evenings and weekend afternoons), the crowds are small. The staff are absolutely amazing. Always friendly and helpful. The weekday frontend team make me look forward to grocery day. The only downside to this store - the condiment and non-perishable food inventory can be hit or miss. I frequently leave without everything on my list.
