We are relocating to Texas to be with the grandchildren and this was a perfect place for our last night in the Northwest, at least for a while. Reflecting the values and beauty of Oregon, the room is a all wood with a live plant. The view of the river, quiet setting, fantastic shower, what more could you ask for? How about enough space to stretch out? A wide selection of games at the desk to choose from, close proximity to places like "Bette's Place" to eat. Highly recommended!

We booked into one of the buildings on the gorge side of the property. Although some of the aspects of the room were a bit "long in the tooth" everything was clean and all the expected amenities were present. The view was gorgeous and the grounds meet and manicured. Although there is plenty of highway noise outside, the room itself was quiet. Considering if you stay closer to town you can get both highway and freight train noise I would opt for this location anytime. Four and a half stars!

I was somewhat nervous when we drove into the lodge. Normally, I stay at Air BNB. I was more than pleasantly surprised when we walked through the lodge grounds and room. It's absolutely stunning. I thought that this would be an amazing place to get married and sure enough, they have events here too. The third floor, corner unit was perfect. Microwave, mini fridge, TV, desk and dining table. Iron and ironing board plus a hair blow dryer. Cozy King bed all though was a bit too soft for my back, but the sleep was really great. We couldn't hear a thing but the white noise of the AC. They did have extra blankets. The hot water for the shower took quite some time to warm up fully, but it worked just fine. The bathroom was spotless and they had more than enough towels. In the little binder, you could read about the motel and property love story, seeing all the upgrades they've done over the years. I love that little touch of history. It makes the place even more special. I would love to return when I'm in Hood River again.

Very solid value, comfortable room, great king bed, cool view. Next door to a resort that costs twice as much. This hotel was built in 2 phases, the original buildings were a 1 story motor hotel circa early 1960s. The lowest room you should book is a partial view, lest you be facing a freeway frontage road with road noise. Later, (visually the 1990s), several 2 story structures were built, some with stunning views. The "classic buildings" are old and a bit worn, and could use some updating. But all rooms are clean and serviceable and a good value. No restaurant, coffee only.

Beautiful property by the Columbia River with amazing views. We got a room with the river view and balcony on the first floor and had an amazing stay. Although furniture is a bit outdated, we loved the vibe and bed was very comfortable. Towels and sheets all appeared pretty new. Very clean property with everything you need in the room including fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Appreciated the daily housekeeping. Property is also very close to grocery stores and plenty food options. Check in and check out were smooth and fast. Recommend and we plan to stay again!

This place exceeded my expectations. From the check in process, to the room condition, to the amenities available even at my base room rate, everything about my stay was splendid. I truly wish that I spent more than one night here. Perhaps it's a sign for me to visit Hood River during apple picking season next year so that I can have an excuse to stay here again. Something that will be clear in my mind going forward- waking up to a view of the backyard garden/gazebo area with the rain gently falling on Hood River in the background.

Amazing! The gardens are worth the stay alone, beautiful! The room was clean and quiet! The entire property was well maintained and very dog friendly! The views are exceptional! The location was great for us and easy, short drive to the main downtown, which allowed us peace and rest when we were back in our room. We loved the place and can't wait to go back!

Cozy cottage living

Great cozy place. I am out here working for a month and my work put me up at the Westcliff, I feel totally at home. I have one of the cottages with full size kitchen, 2 bathrooms (jet jacuzzi tub in the master) and a living room with a fireplace. So homey feeling with all of the amenities of home. The customer service is top notch. Very family friendly run business. I would definitely keep this place in mind to come for a weekend or vacation with my family. The cottages are very spacious and the master room/bathroom is large as well. Great for a family! Update: Week 2 I was placed in a different cottage/cabin. It had a weird smell, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher with food on them still and some body hair (I won't mention the type) in the bottom of the jacuzzi jet tub. I was also very itchy in this particular unit. I did bring it to the attention of management and I have faith the issue with housekeeping will be resolved. For week 3 I was back in the original cabin/cottage I started out in and it was great! No issues, smelled clean and again, felt like I was at home.

Very quaint, older hotel! Very nice room with a great view and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is tiny, but it was just fine.

Being able to open my door directly to the river is so luxurious, I could care less what kind of toiletries they provide or weave of the carpet. It's hard to add the details of the room into the review because the rooms are fine and well apportioned, but the location and access to the outdoors is some of the best in the state. My two small dogs may have had an even better time than I did. Perfect for an active getaway or a true hunker down like we did this month. Easy walk or bike to downtown and waterfront park. We have fond memories of this space when it was formerly a quaint micro brewery; now we're staying in the converted brew works that is ideally located in the heart of Hood River. If you're not familiar with this town, you will be equally blown away by the sensational geology and twin volcanos separated by the Gorge itself. Etc. Fortunately they provided an in room coffee maker and coffee with filters. The room (The Gorge Room) was ok, and had a Murphy bed (as advertised), but it sure felt like a full not a queen size. Very small. Also, again as advertised, the bathroom for this room is down the hall. This wasn't a problem and we expected it (again, as advertised). However, upon getting into the shower, both the diverter handle and water pressure/temp handle came right off! Fortunately, I was able to get both back into the slots internally and take showers, but that should definitely be fixed/replaced. Overall this is a very old property with lots of charming design and decor. Just be aware that this may come with challenges, and older reviews make it sound better than it is. It certainly isn't living up to its older reputation. It is also largely an unstaffed property. I did see a lady working in back and spoke to her briefly, but other than that, no one.

I overheard other guests saying that breakfast was no longer provided, even though it is advertised as a b&b. This didn't affect me personally, but I did find that to be misleading. There were signs saying that beer and wine were available if the innkeeper was in, but we were around most of the evening and didn't see any offerings. Additionally, the hot tub was closed. Check-in was relatively easy, the room was as presented. The porch was nice to relax on. Not a bad stay, just feel that it could have been more personalized and up to the description.

Sakura Ridge provided a very comfortable stay with everything that we needed to unplug and relax. There were many small details that we appreciated- a beautifully designed and very clean room, comfortable bed and sheets, heated floors, snacks and drinks in the common area (hot cocoa, tea, soda, popcorn), and guidebooks, cookbooks, and maps for guests. The breakfasts were delicious and carefully prepared by Deanna. We had fresh lamb sausage, cherry tomato and goat cheese tart, scrambled eggs with chives, and sorrel salad. The second day, we had a cream cheese omelette, ham wrapped asparagus, and fresh blueberry scone. Deanna also made a berry smoothie both mornings. John was very kind and taught my husband how to feed their lambs on the second morning. We met him at 8am and my husband got to feed 3 lambs at one time! I have to say, it was a unique and fun experience. We stayed in the Orchard Room, which was great. It was built as an addition in 2007, so it has a separate entrance and felt very private. The bathroom was well appointed with a marble walk-in shower and soaking tub. We had a private balcony overlooking the chickens and lambs on the farm, and it offered an AMAZING view of Mt. Hood. One of the best things about Sakura Ridge is that it's situated on a farm with animals (lambs and chickens) and fruits (pears, apples, peaches, plums, and berries) and vegetables. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the summer.
